The Kurganets-25 is a new generation of armored fighting vehicles designed to replace the BMP-2 and MT-LB vehicles in motorized units of the Russian army. With outstanding power in firepower, electronic weapons and mobility, this is considered one of the best multi-purpose armored vehicles in the world.
The military parade on May 9 in Russia’s Red Square had the participation of many weapons that have undergone major modernization. Among them is the promising armored fighting vehicle on the Kurganets-25 platform – this year for the first time appeared in public with the BM “Epoch” turret. Its main feature is armed with a 57 mm automatic cannon, which is effective against both light armored vehicles and small UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

From the observations of analyst Andrey Kots, it can be seen that the Russians displayed a new variant of the Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle with the 57 mm BM “Epoch” turret – different from the 30 mm cannon in the reviews. former soldiers. According to analyst Ryabov Kirill, the LShO-57 differs from the well-known 57 mm 2A91 cannon in a number of features including a shorter barrel (barrel length 40 times the size) and no recoil compensation. This design makes the ballistics more stretchable, but at the same time, it also requires the development of new ammunition such as fragmentation explosive ammunition (suitable for the requirements of anti-UAV combat as mentioned above) and armor-piercing ammunition. Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle parade The Kurganets-25 is a new generation of armored fighting vehicles designed to replace the BMP-2 and MT-LB vehicles in motorized units of the Russian army. This will promise to be a line of weapons that will glorify the Russian armored forces. The Kurganets-25 is heavily armed with a 30mm 2A42 automatic cannon with 500 rounds, or a 57mm caliber 2A91 cannon with 200 rounds, in addition to a 7.62mm PKT coaxial machine gun, anti-tank missiles with Kornet-EM remote control, thermobaric grenade launcher. Infantry fighting vehicle Kurganets-25 In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a meteorological reconnaissance system, 2 photoelectric target reconnaissance systems and missile guidance that significantly improve the combat capability of this armored vehicle. The body of the vehicle is also fitted with 16 grenade launchers and 4 sensors of the Afghanit “hard pressure” system to help the vehicle have excellent defense against infantry and laser-guided weapons. RT on April 23 quoted the commander of Russian military units confirming that they were withdrawing strengthened forces in the area near the Ukraine and Crimea border, where tensions have increased in recent weeks, to regular bases. directly inside Russian territory.

The video shows Russia withdrawing its troops from Crimea. Video: Russian Ministry of Defense The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the same day video footage of tanks, armored artillery and soldiers boarding the landing craft on the Crimean coast one after another. This is also where Russia has just completed the exercise with the participation of 60 warships, more than 10,000 soldiers, about 200 aircraft and 1,200 ground vehicles. The withdrawal was carried out by Russia after Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu asserted that “the army has proven its ability to ensure the country’s defense”. “I decided to complete inspection activities in the Western and Southern Military Region bordering Ukraine,” Shoigu said on April 22. Russian battleships boarded the amphibious ships to return to their permanent base. Photo: ITN According to Mr. Shoigu, the withdrawal will be completed by May 1. However, Russia still retains the weapons here for the exercises at the end of the year. The aforementioned weapons have been increased by Russia to Crimea and the region near the Russian border since late March, amid Moscow fears that the Ukrainian army has launched a bloody large-scale war against pro-Russian separatists in the East. Ukraine. NATO and Ukraine expressed concern over Russia’s military action and repeatedly urged Moscow to withdraw. Some Western sources even expressed skepticism that Russia had actually withdrawn.

The Pentagon statement emphasized: “Defense Minister Lloyd Austin this morning discussed with Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to express concerns about the disappearance of the Indonesian submarine KRI Nanggala 402 as well as the fragile division of the 53 crew members on board. ” The Pentagon also noted that the two sides had discussed the recent deployment of the P-8 Poseidon to aid the search. So I decided to complete inspection activities in the Military Region in the South and the West bordering Ukraine,” Euronews quoted the Minister as saying. However, Shoigu said Russia would still keep military weapons and equipment at the Pogonovo firing range in the Voronezh region, some 160 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border for other Russian military maneuvers by the end. year 2021. Both NATO and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky welcomed the step. “The gradual withdrawal of troops from the border between the two countries will cool down tensions. Ukraine remains vigilant, but very welcome any move to reduce its military presence,” the President of Ukraine wrote on Twitter. Since late March 2021, Russia has deployed about 120,000 troops in Crimea and near the Ukrainian border, the highest level since the conflict in eastern Ukraine broke out in 2014, according to NATO reports. Russia did not confirm the increased number of troops, but confirmed that the recent Crimea drills involved 60 warships, more than 10,000 soldiers, about 200 aircraft and 1,200 ground vehicles.

The Kiev government hopes that in the event of a war with Russia they will get help from the US, but will this come easily?
“Ukraine is not the right reason why the US needed to enter a confrontation with Russia”, this is the conclusion made by Wikistrat analyst Greg Lawson in his article published on the online edition US National Interest. .

American experts warn Russia is a nuclear power capable of killing millions of Americans in the event of a war. In his view, the United States can engage in an open confrontation with Russia only in the event of any “vital” threat to its existence.

But Mr. Lawson stressed that Ukraine is not such a case, and the situation in Donbass does not pose a direct threat to US security.

Analyst Lawson said that the US should prioritize cooperation with Russia instead of confrontation as it is now

In addition, the expert also strongly opposes Ukraine’s membership in NATO, because according to Mr. Lawson, it is Kiev that is the cause of all the problems that have arisen in Europe recently. Ukraine’s accession to the military alliance will exacerbate the situation, taking its conflict with Russia to a new level, something no one wants.

Lawson explained that continuing to confront Russia over Ukraine could be exploited by China, which is dreaming of becoming a superpower and surpassing the US on the world rankings. So Washington needs to turn to other issues, and not to conflict with Russia.

Meanwhile, the US intelligence community has released another annual report on global threats. Traditionally, Russia has been at the forefront of America’s security challenges at all levels.

The above development shows that despite opposition from domestic analysts, the administration of President Joe Biden with a tough stance is almost certain to provide military assistance to Ukraine in the event of a war. In Donbass, if you do not participate in direct combat, you will also provide weapons, weapons, and modern military equipment.

Citing a U.S. State Department spokesperson, Sputnik radio reported: “While we will not comment on ongoing lawsuits, we can confirm the authorities intend to expedite the arms deal for the UAE. We will continue to discuss the deal in detail with UAE officials to ensure the two sides understand each other.”

Earlier, in January 2021, Washington halted the sale of F-35 fighters to the UAE and ammunition to Saudi Arabia after reviewing arms deals under former President Donald Trump. President Biden reversed his predecessor’s decision the day before he took office and reinstated a 10 percent tariff on aluminum imported from the UAE.

Observers speculate President Trump’s administration used the F-35 deal with the UAE to normalize relations with Israel. In September 2020, two Gulf countries – the UAE and Bahrain – signed a historic agreement establishing diplomatic relations with the American Jewish nation as an intermediary. However, UAE officials say the cooperation with Israel is driven entirely by a desire to prevent “annexed action,” alluding to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to apply sovereignty over much of the Palestinian territory in the West Bank.

Reacting to president Biden’s decision to “freeze” the arms deal in January, UAE Ambassador to the U.S. Yousef al-Otaiba called it a completely understandable action because the Biden administration must follow due to the UAE-U.S. deal being one of the world’s largest arms deals worth up to $23 billion.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), in 2020, UAE arms imports have decreased by 37%.
