With the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Biotechnology and Medical Equipment Factory One Member Company Limited (BIMEDTECH) presided over the implementation of the Project ‘Research to produce biochips based on DNA microarray technology for diagnosis. some human diseases’. This is a pioneer project in Vietnam and in the region in the field of manufacturing, researching and developing high-tech chip products for the medical industry.
 Invest in modern factory scale

The project “Research and production of biochips based on DNA microarray technology for the diagnosis of some human diseases”, belongs to the Program to develop a number of high-tech industries managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The goal of the project is to master the technology of manufacturing biochips based on DNA microarray; to produce biological chip sets that meet the quality standards of in vitro diagnostic biological products – IVD; At the same time, these biochips can be applied to clinical diagnosis. BIMEDTECH officials and employees implement the project To implement the project, BIMEDTECH collaborated with leading units such as the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the Central Lung Hospital and the Cardiology Institute – Bach Mai Hospital to conduct surveys of known gene mutations. found in biochips of international production and a number of new or specific genetic mutations in humans and pathogens in Vietnam that are associated with diseases: thalassemia, 17 bacterial strains non-tuberculosis (NTM) and clopidogrel-resistant patients in patients undergoing cardiovascular intervention. Along with that, BIMEDTECH has invested in building a clean room system and the world’s leading advanced and modern equipment and machines into the factory in the Hi-Tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City. BIMEDTECH has signed cooperation agreements with high-tech companies in the United States and Europe to receive technology transfer for the production of DNA and Protein Microarray, the foundation for developing products for the diagnosis of a number of diseases in Vietnam. people. Take the lead in mastering technology With the support of the program, BIMEDTECH team has developed 3 products: BIMEDCHIP Thalassemia Detection Kit for diagnosis and treatment of thalassemia. This is the first in vitro diagnostic kit product made in Vietnam that allows simultaneous detection of many mutations causing congenital anemia including alpha and beta – thalassemia in just one test with accurate results. , fast time to get results with suitable cost. Thalassemia is a group of inherited anemias. Vietnam is a country with a high prevalence of thalassemia in the world: About 3% of the population carries the thalassemia gene, the prevalence is about 0.5-1% for the Kinh ethnic group, and a high increase of 10-25% in the Kinh population. some hill tribes. Early diagnosis and treatment of thalassemia reduces morbidity and mortality from thalassemia. Next, is BIMEDCHIP Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria Panel Kit for TB diagnosis. This kit provides results quickly, in as little as 6 hours, compared to traditional culture methods that can take weeks. Providing fast and accurate results helps medical staff to provide effective and timely treatment regimens, bringing benefits to patients. In particular, BIMEDCHIP Cardiovascular Drug PGx Testing Kit allows to detect whether a patient has changes in genes related to liver metabolism of Clopidogrel, Statin, Sinthrome drugs or not in a single test, thereby helping medical staff choose the right dose or drug for each patient, bringing the best effect for drug use. The successful implementation of the project is expected to contribute to improving the current limited production of medical equipment in Vietnam, meeting the increasing health care needs of the community, and at the same time. making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the Program on the development of a number of high-tech industries.

Artwork: Internet Decreased immunity When the body lacks inorganic salts, vitamin C, and high-quality protein, it will decrease immunity, make patients suffer from colds constantly or easily catch colds, the body is weak and tired. People with such signs can change their daily regimen by consuming high-quality protein from soy milk, lean meats, fish, and eggs; Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables that contain iron, zinc and vitamins such as bean sprouts, citrus fruits, and tomatoes. The skin of hands and feet is peeling Peeling of limbs is a sign of vitamin A deficiency. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that can boost the metabolism of the stratum corneum and maintain the healthy surface of the skin. However, lack of vitamin A easily causes the skin to peel off, rough, often occurs in people who work stressful, use computers for a long time. Therefore, you should eat plenty of animal organs that contain vitamin A, carrots, egg yolks, or milk. Dizziness and anemia The body lacks iron will cause the metabolism of oxygen in the blood to decrease, causing headaches, dizziness, anemia, poor concentration, pale skin, these people may experience dizziness when standing up suddenly. Usually, if this is the case, you should eat plenty of iron-rich foods such as black fungus, animal blood, animal organs, and red meats. Creaking noise in knees, shoulders and elbows These sounds can be due to fluid changes in the joint (called dry joints), or joint deflection, arthritis, damaged ligaments … See a doctor if you experience pain, swelling in your knees or elbows. restricting you from being active in sports or exercise. Hair loss According to Health, hair loss can be caused by many causes such as stress, malnutrition, pregnancy, medications, birth control pills, and weight loss. Healthy hair is smooth, silky smooth through a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, sleep, exercise and emotional and mental stability. Pale, brittle nails Pretty little nails can reveal more health than you might think. Pale nail color or weak, brittle nails can be signs of diseases such as iron deficiency anemia, heart disease and hypothyroidism. Nails and toenails turn yellow and are rough and rough, indicating that they have a fungal infection. The rumbling in the stomach It was the sound of the intestines. When you’re hungry, seeing, smelling, or even thinking about food can stimulate your brain to initiate digestion. When you drink a glass of water, it also makes a “gurgling” sound due to the fluid entering the stomach. This is harmless, but see your doctor if the noise is accompanied by stomach pain, bloating, and heartburn. Or rapid weight loss for unknown reasons. Mouth sores recur General endocrine disorders, not paying attention to oral hygiene, excessive mental stress can easily cause mouth ulcers, in order to eliminate the above factors, it is necessary to prevent vitamin B deficiency, especially vitamin B2 deficiency. People with such symptoms should eat foods rich in Vitamin B2 and foods with spleen tonic and analgesic effects, such as pumpkins, soybeans or carrots. Cold hands and feet Selenium in foods can regulate thyroid function, and secreted thyroxine can regulate metabolism and blood circulation. People with mild selenium deficiency will slow blood circulation and cause cold hands and feet symptoms. People with severe selenium deficiency will decrease immunity, reduce vision, increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Therefore, you should eat more selenium-rich foods, such as mushrooms, garlic, and shellfish. Frequent nosebleeds The nosebleed is always related to the lack of vitamin K in the body, making the blood clotting disorder and easy to bleed. The diet of these people should be changed towards eating more spinach or cabbage containing vitamin K. People with blood clotting disorders should eat more fermented foods like natto (fermented beans) or yogurt. People with severe nosebleeds need to choose a specialized hospital for comprehensive examination and treatment. The buzzing or cicadas cry in the ears This sound is not in the ears but from the head because the brain misinterprets the signal. Exposure to strong noises can affect your ears, so use earplugs to decrease the pitch. See a doctor if tinnitus is persistent and only in one ear. This could be a sign of damage in the ear. Puffiness under the eyes Some of the symptoms under the eyes can be warning signs of illness that should not be ignored. Puffiness under the eyes because the body retains water because of eating too much salt, drinking too much alcohol causes bloating. Experts also say this could be a warning for other thyroid problems or kidney failure. If you are allergic to dairy or wheat foods, if eye puffiness appears abnormal, see your doctor for an early check. In addition, yellow eyes are a sign of liver disease and should be checked. Memory decline The brain consumes 20% of the energy the human body consumes. If you have recently suffered from memory impairment and slow response, you should be wary of malnutrition. You should eat a lot of carbohydrate-containing foods, such as potatoes, grains and sweet potatoes, as well as eggs, beans, fish oil and walnuts, which contain omega 3 fatty acids and choline, which can nourish cells.

In the course of taking the drug, the drug can cause kidney toxicity, disrupt kidney function, affect other organs, and even be dangerous. Therefore, those who have, are suffering from kidney disease, especially kidney failure should be very cautious when using the drug.
The kidneys are the main organ for drug excretion, so the renal parenchyma is very sensitive to the drug. Drugs can cause kidney damage by the following mechanisms: Reduced renal perfusion, direct toxicity to renal tubular cells, renal interstitial damage, renal vascular obstruction, tubular obstruction, and manifestations of acute and chronic renal failure.

The liver and kidney are two organs that excrete drugs, some drugs are eliminated mainly through the liver, others are eliminated mainly by the kidneys. Therefore, when kidney disease, kidney function is impaired, the use of drugs in people with kidney disease has 3 risks, that is, nephrotoxic drugs that decrease kidney function worse.

Second, the drug is eliminated slowly and will accumulate in the body, causing an increased effect.

Third, causing homeostasis due to renal failure, thereby susceptible to drug toxicity even at the appropriate dose.

Some drugs are toxic to the kidneys

With a healthy kidney, when suffering from a certain disease, drugs must be used, the kidneys will be cleaned normally, but for people with kidney disease, especially kidney failure (all kidney functions have been impaired) when Taking certain medications puts you at risk of further kidney damage.

Some drugs can be toxic to the kidneys, especially long-term use, high doses and especially self-medicating for self-healing not under the prescription of the doctor. For example, some antibiotics of the amynoglycoside group (streptomycin, gentamycin, amikacin …), quinolone group (ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin …), vancomycin group, cyclin group, cephalosporin group 1, 2 or antifungal (amphotericin B, ketoconazole …) or Vietnamese, Oriental medicine of unknown origin; Contrast drug used for X-ray with high permeability or some cancer treatment chemicals (cisplatin, methotrexate …).

People with kidney damage should pay attention when using the drug.

In addition, some drugs are not directly toxic to the kidneys but cause kidney anemia, reducing glomerular filtration rate or if used long term will cause renal entity failure. For example, antihypertensive drugs, when used in overdose cause hypotension cause renal anemia and impaired glomerular filtration, especially the class of ACE inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (indomethacin, diclofenac …), inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis are factors that cause vasodilation leading to kidney anemia.

Note when using drugs in people with kidney problems

We all know, drugs (Western medicine or Vietnamese medicine, Oriental medicine) all have a curative effect and all drugs that are put into the body pass through the kidneys and are filtered here. Therefore, when suffering from kidney disease, especially kidney failure, it is very important to check the function of the kidneys (that is, follow the test order of the doctor) before using the drug to know and know. the exact state of kidney disease, glomerular filtration rate and kidney function must be checked during drug use, especially when taking long-term medication.

Comply with the instructions and instructions when taking drugs of the doctor to avoid adversely affecting the kidneys.

Do not buy, take drugs by yourself or do not change the dosage by yourself or change the drug without consulting your doctor to avoid harming the kidneys due to improper use of the drug.

In addition, drink enough water every day to facilitate drug purification (there are drugs when used need to drink a lot of water to help the kidneys purify drugs better).

On the morning of April 15, the Department of Maternal and Child Health – Ministry of Health in collaboration with Vietnam Network of Social Organizations for Nutrition (SUN CSA) organized a workshop to promote the implementation of the Program “Nutrition care. The first 1,000 days of life are aimed at preventing maternal and child malnutrition, contributing to improving the stature and physical strength of Vietnamese people “.

The workshop aimed to guide nine provinces in the North to develop program implementation plans, and at the same time discussed to promote the development of detailed work plans and implementation of the program in the localities.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health, said that at present, many localities do not have plans to implement the program, so the provinces need to quickly implement the plan to have the best nutritional care for mothers and children, speed up the reduction of stunting malnutrition in children.

Currently, breastfeeding counseling is still limited. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women is high. Undernourished pregnant women still exist in many localities, but in big cities, pregnant women are gaining too much weight. There is still a gap in the quality of meals for children aged 6-24 months between geographical regions, economic and occupational conditions of mothers and ethnic groups.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, Director General of Maternal and Child Health Department, Ministry of Health, spoke at the workshop.

At the workshop, representatives of the units / localities discussed to develop a plan as well as organize the implementation of the first 1,000 days of nutritional care program in which identifying and analyzing priority issues. local, target development, selection of solutions, planning activities and program evaluation indicators.

After the seminar, localities will actively review and develop plans to submit to local authorities for approval and implement implementation to accelerate the reduction of stunting malnutrition in the country in general. As well as in mountainous areas, ethnic minorities in particular contribute to improving the physical stature of Vietnamese people, successfully implementing the goal of improving nutritional status of the Sixth Conference of the Central Committee. Program XII and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

On December 5, 2019, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1896 / QD-TTg approving the program “Nutrition care for the first 1,000 days of life to prevent maternal and child malnutrition, and improve the Vietnamese stature ”.

The program sets specific goals, to 2025, the rate of stunting in children under 5 years old is less than 20%; The rate of underweight malnutrition among children under 5 years old is less than 11%, particularly in ethnic minority and mountainous areas less than 15%; the proportion of children with a low birth weight (less than 2,500 grams) was less than 8%; the rate of anemia among pregnant women is below 23%, particularly in mountainous areas below 25.5%; 80% of mothers practiced early breastfeeding and 25% of mothers exclusively breastfed their babies in the first 6 months; 60% of mothers continued to breastfeed until their babies were 24 months old or longer; 70% of mothers gave children from 6-24 months of age correctly.

By 2030, the rate of stunting in children under 5 years old is less than 19%; the underweight malnutrition rate in children under 5 years old is less than 10.5%; the proportion of children with a low birth weight (less than 2,500 grams) was less than 7%; the rate of anemia among pregnant women drops below 20%, particularly in mountainous areas below 23.5%; 85% of mothers practiced early breastfeeding and 30% of mothers exclusively breastfed their babies in the first 6 months; 70% of mothers continued to breastfeed until their babies were 24 months old or longer; 80% of mothers give children from 6-24 months of age correctly.
