South Africa throws away 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine due to contamination incident. Photo: Reuters According to RT (Russia) news agency (Russia), the South African Health Products Administration (SAHPRA) has decided not to deploy vaccination for 2 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine being stored at a facility in the city of Gqeberha. , as the raw materials for their production were affected by a contamination incident at the factory in Baltimore (USA). The decision comes after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that millions of doses of vaccine produced at Johnson & Johnson’s Emergent BioSolutions facility in the US city of Baltimore were not suitable for use in the United States. use. “Based on what has been announced by the FDA, batches of vaccines being stored in our Gqeberha have been affected. The batches of these vaccines correspond to about 2 million doses,” South Africa’s Acting Health Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane said on June 13. These doses of the vaccine have not and will not be used to immunize South Africans, she added. SAHPRA chief executive, Dr Boitumelo Semete, also confirmed the batch of vaccines “cannot be widely distributed.” Meanwhile, South Africa’s health watchdog said in a statement that a new batch of about 300,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by the FDA and will be shipped to South Africa at a later date. some point. The agency did not disclose the exact date the shipments arrived. However, Mr. Semete acknowledged that the problem with Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine had a significant negative impact on South Africa’s vaccine deployment strategy. As of June 13, South Africa, the country hardest hit by the COVID-19 epidemic in Africa, has recorded about 1.7 million cases of COVID-19 and over 57,000 deaths. However, the country with a population of about 58.5 million people has only injected 183,000 doses of the vaccine to its people, as of June 9, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). South Africa is also one of the countries that is campaigning to give up patents for a COVID-19 vaccine to allow all countries to produce generic versions at low cost. “If we want to save lives and end the pandemic, we need to expand and diversify our production, put medical products into treatment, and fight and stop the pandemic for as many people as possible,” the president said. South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa speaks at a meeting with G7 countries in the UK on June 13.

IT House, June 13 news Google believes that in today’s network environment, URLs are still the main way users determine the identity and authenticity of a site, but URLs can easily deceive people’s eyes.

For example, an attacker can manipulate the URL in a variety of ways to confuse users with the identity of the website, thereby achieving phishing, social engineering, and online fraud. A study showed that when misleading brand names appear in URLs, more than 60% of users are deceived.

In order to avoid such problems, Google chose to hide the complete URL in the address bar of the Chrome browser many years ago.

Recently, a commit merged by Google in Chromium showed thatThe development team has deleted the function code to hide the URL.The reason is that this experimental feature has no effect on related safety indicators, so it is not going to be officially launched.

IT Home has learned that after Google launched the hide URL function, although it has received great controversy, it still insists on choosing to promote it, and said that this function is as important as HTTPS. In subsequent version updates, the hide URL function has been optimized a lot, and it has been offline for a short time, but it has since become the default enabled item.

According to news on April 15, recently, “Shenzhen online car-hailing drivers were cancelled after waiting half an hour to pick up passengers.” The incident caused heated discussions among netizens. It is understood that the driver of Didi drove 36.5 kilometers to the position of the female passenger and waited for the passenger at the designated place for about half an hour, but the passenger cancelled the order because he was dissatisfied that the driver did not take the initiative to help put the luggage.

In this regard, Didi released a relevant statement tonight:

On April 13, the Shenzhen Express driver Master Zhang grabbed the passenger’s express order booked by the enterprise-level account. The scheduled departure time was 8 am on the 14th. On the 14th, Master Zhang departed from home to pick up the passengers. The driving distance was 36.5 kilometers. He arrived at the passenger’s departure point at 7:39 am and waited for the passengers from 38 minutes to 8:17. The passenger cancelled the order because he was dissatisfied that the driver did not take the initiative to help carry the luggage.

While waiting for the passengers, Master Zhang sent multiple messages to the passengers through the Didi App. 8 calls were made, one of which was connected at 7:55. The passenger asked the driver to drive into the hotel, and the call was connected once at 7:58. The driver and the passenger negotiated to change the pick-up time to 8:10, and the other 6 calls The passenger did not answer the phone.

According to platform rules, passengers who are late for this order will be charged a cancellation fee of 21 yuan to cancel the order. After cancellation, the passenger has paid immediately and paid the full amount to the driver. Regarding the handling of luggage for passengers, although the platform rules do not have uniform mandatory requirements for express drivers, we hope to provide passengers with better services. We hope that the masters will take the initiative when encountering large luggage, and we recommend that passengers take the initiative when they need help. Ask the driver for help. In actual situations, many driver masters do take the initiative to help when they see passengers carrying suitcases.

In addition, Master Zhang mentioned that after arriving at the pick-up location, he had “argued with the security three times” while waiting for the passengers. We put ourselves here and thought about this issue from the perspective of Master Zhang. It may be that Master Zhang stayed near the hotel entrance for a long time while waiting for passengers, which affected the work of security. Here we also apologize on behalf of Master Zhang.

We also call on the drivers and masters to abide by the traffic rules and not to park randomly. At the same time, we appeal to the whole society that sometimes the driver masters may temporarily occupy parking lot or roadside resources while waiting for passengers. Please be tolerant and convenient.

We have contacted Master Zhang, and considering that Master Zhang has a long empty distance, we will provide Master Zhang with relevant subsidies. At the same time, I also talked with Master Zhang. Although we understand that Master Zhang is very wronged and angry, we did not provide good car service to passengers this time.

In addition, the appointment order is not dispatched, and the driver voluntarily grabs the order. Therefore, the driver has a long distance to pick up and drive, and the passengers do not know it beforehand. At present, this incident has received widespread attention from all walks of life, and it has also caused some trouble to passengers.

At present, the platform has received complaints from the driver from the passenger entering the customer service line, saying that he was insulted by the driver and asking the platform to punish the driver. We have informed and warned Master Zhang not to insult passengers or disseminate users’ personal information without authorization. According to the rules of the platform, Master Zhang will be given corresponding education and punishment in the follow-up.

The decision was made 100 days before the Tokyo Olympics opened and amid growing concerns about the possibility of hosting the event as the number of cases is increasing inside and outside Japan.

Ehime Provincial Governor Tokihiro Nakamura said emergency health services in the region are under great pressure due to a sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. As a result, the authorities will cancel the torch procession in Matsuyama. Instead, they will hold a torch celebration without the participation of the audience, and tokyo Olympic organizers have also approved the decision.

The torch procession departed March 25 from Fukushima Prefecture in northeastern Japan and is scheduled to pass through a total of 47 prefectures before the opening of the Olympics on July 23. As planned, this torch will pass through Matsuyama City on April 21. Earlier, osaka authorities did not hold torchlight processions on the streets. Instead, torch-carrying athletes ran through an empty park due to the rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases there.

According to statistics, Japan has recorded a total of more than 513,000 infections and more than 9,500 deaths from COVID-19. Notably, the total number of cases in tokyo is more than 126,000, the highest level in the country. Last week, the Government of Japan decided to allow the governments of Tokyo, Kyoto Prefecture and Okinawa Prefecture to adopt key epidemic prevention measures amid signs of a strong OUTBREAK of COVID-19. The measures are expected to be lifted in Kyoto and Okinawa prefectures on May 5, and in tokyo on May 11.

In the context of the complicated situation, on the same day, Tokyo Mayor Yuriko Koike pledged to effectively control the COVID-19 epidemic in the capital to ensure the upcoming Olympics take place safely. She stressed that between now and May 11, it will be an important period to win the fight against COVID-19 before the Olympics take place.

Meanwhile, John Coates – chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the body responsible for overseeing the preparations – expressed confidence that the Tokyo Olympics will undoubtedly take place this summer. According to him, the current anti-epidemic measures will help ensure the safety of people, athletes and other participants.

In order to minimize the risk of spread, last month, the Government of Japan officially decided not to allow foreign audiences to enter the country to watch events at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Foreign professional athletes and coaches will be quarantined immediately after arriving in Japan. Testing for these subjects will be conducted every 3-4 days, and individuals who test negative for 14 days of quarantine can participate in training and competition with teammates.

Tokyo Olympic organizers are entering the final stages of preparation. Five agencies in charge of organizing, including the IOC and the Tokyo city government, are planning to convene a meeting before the end of April to decide how many people will be allowed into the competition area.
