Photo: InHope Pictures “It doesn’t matter if you are disabled or normal, whether you are blind or have no arms or legs, as long as you have a strong will, you can always accomplish something that others cannot ,” Zhang told Reuters news agency. Zhang conquered the 8,849m high Himalayas on May 24 with three guides and returned to the camp on May 27. Born in Chongqing City, Zhang lost his sight at the age of 21 due to glaucoma. He was inspired by Erik Weihenmayer, an American blind climber who climbed Mount Everest in 2001. After that, Zhang started climbing with the guidance of a friend, Qiang Zi. Nepal reopened Mount Everest to foreigners in April after a period of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “I was still scared because I couldn’t see where I was going and couldn’t find my center of gravity, so sometimes I would fall. However, I still think that even if it’s difficult, I still have to face it. It’s part of climbing. There is difficulty, there is danger, and this is what climbing means.”

For Joshi, the time when he contracted Covid-19 and coped with the super typhoon at the foot of Mount Everest was more difficult than the journey to reach the ‘roof of the world’.
On May 8, Harshvardhan Joshi (26 years old, India) was busy at the campsite at the foot of Everest to prepare for the journey to conquer the highest mountain in the world. VICE .

For almost a month, he had been waiting there while a group of Sherpa guides scouted the route and fixed the climbing rope from the assembly point to the summit. This year’s climbing season has about 1,500 people joining the support staff. Along with more than 400 other people present at the foot of Mount Everest, the young man hopes to make his lifelong dream come true. At that time, a climbing friend carefully brought some rapid test kits for SARS-CoV-2 virus antigen due to the pandemic raging in Nepal and India. Joshi also participated in the testing. However, a bad news interrupted Joshi’s excitement: he tested positive for Covid-19. Not believing his ears, the guy tested himself again but it still showed the same results. “The scene was actually quite noisy. The team still had to continue the journey without me no matter how much the trip meant to me,” he said. Covid-19 climbing season This year’s climbing season took place under the most extraordinary circumstances. Despite concerns about a second wave of the epidemic, Nepal decided to reopen Mount Everest and other mountains after a year of closure. At the end of March 2021, Joshi arrived in Kathmandu (Nepal) and set out to the meeting point at the foot of the mountain. Around mid-April, the first whispers of Covid-19 in the campground began to appear. Meanwhile, Nepalese officials continue to deny that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was present at the highest mountain in the world. Harshvardhan Joshi started his passion for climbing 10 years ago. “Isolation rules are in place but no one is monitoring. Some people flew to the assembly point after only a few days of isolation,” Joshi said. Due to the lack of testing facilities, no one can tell the difference between Covid-19 disease and the persistent “khumbu dry cough” – a symptom most climbers experience at this altitude. . Only major climbs are equipped with doctors and testing equipment. “We also only got tested after a teammate asked his wife to bring a rapid test kit from India.” In the village of Dibuche near the campsite, one of Joshi’s teammates tested positive for Covid-19 and decided to fly home. Not long after, 5 other people also contracted the virus and Joshi was the 6th. Joshi’s priority is to isolate himself in a tent alone for 10 days. Due to his lack of symptoms, he decided to stay instead of evacuating by helicopter with the other patients. The young man still hopes that he can continue his journey after the isolation period ends. “I consulted the doctors in my hometown. They sent me the treatment plan. Then I asked the person who organized this trip in Kathmandu to buy and send the medicine by helicopter.” During the quarantine, Joshi spent many hours practicing breathing and chanting. “I spend most of my time in the tent. Meals will be delivered from the kitchen to my tent. It was really lonely having to dine alone in the cold weather,” he recalls. Joshi’s medication was delivered from the capital of Nepal via helicopter. In mid-May, Joshi’s dream was further threatened by Cyclone Tauktae, which killed more than 100 Indians and blew away at least 30 tents at the campsite. Faced with this situation, Nepalese authorities have extended the time so that tourists can wait for better weather, conquering the “roof of the world” again, although the climbing season usually ends in May. ‘Steering’ of the unexpected trip By dinner on May 19, things finally got better for Joshi. The weather forecast in the coming days will be better and his latest test came back negative. Joshi’s original plan was to climb Everest first and then to Lhotse, Everest’s “neighbor” and the fourth highest mountain in the world. Anup Rai (left) and Furte Sherpa accompany Joshi to climb Everest. However, he decided to try Lhotse first because it would be deserted in the coming clear days. Moreover, he was also worried about his lung condition after the illness. At midnight, Joshi set out with two climbing guides, Furte Sherpa and Anup Rai – who he assessed as “inexperienced but healthy”. Other more experienced guides have left the mountain because of Covid-19. “Therefore, I asked two people to go with me to maximize safety, in case something happened,” he said. Mount Everest and Lhotse share a major climb. Thus, on the way, Joshi’s group met an Everest climbing team. With the weather forecast to get worse due to the effects of another storm, Joshi realized the short time ahead was the best opportunity to visit Everest once. So he changed his mind again and went back to the original plan. “Winds will get stronger and the chances of climbing in good weather will become increasingly limited. However, I still decided to go,” he said. After 2 days, despite all the harsh weather conditions, Joshi reached the summit of Everest. Joshi doesn’t feel too excited about climbing the “roof of the world”. Standing from the “roof of the world”, he can see the glacier in northern Tibet glowing in the morning sun, Mount Lhotse and the majestic Himalayas. “There were at least 20 people on the top of the mountain before our group. I just sat there and basked in the beautiful surroundings. After that, I bowed my head to thank my two guides – who brought me up here safely. On the other hand, Joshi wasn’t as excited as he had thought. With the next storm coming, he didn’t have much time to linger on Mount Everest. “It feels like the problems I faced before reaching Everest were much more difficult than climbing to the top,” he said.

When the sound of cicadas tinkling through the streets is when crocodiles begin to come into season. This is also the time when freelance workers flock together along the streets of the capital to climb and pick crocodiles to make a living. The job of ‘picking hundreds and millions of money’ on the tree top, but it has to be sacrificed with your life to cope with daily living.

Around mid-May, crocodiles have been sold on the streets. This year, around mid-May, the crocodile pickers have started working. These days, walking along the streets of Tran Hung Dao, Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Dieu, Tran Phu, Ba Trieu… it is easy to see the image of sellers sitting on the sidewalk, next to a big bag of crocodiles to greet customers. Purchase. Crocodile season’s livelihood at the expense of life When the sound of the car horns became less and less, the quiet night fell, the crocodile picker with a simple tool of a hook and a sack began to climb the tree to pick crocodiles. Mr. Long, a crocodile-picker for many years on Phan Dinh Phung street, said: “The time to pick crocodiles usually starts from 3am to 5am – 6am, both to avoid the authorities and to keep the people in time. Stop by to go to work and buy groceries.” Crocodile-picking is a dangerous, seasonal job, the amount of money of several hundred thousand and millions earned is a gamble with life. Crocodile tree is inherently brittle, small crocodile branches are very easy to break; Moreover, the crocodile trees on the streets of Hanoi have mostly been grown for many years, some trees are up to 30-40 m tall, so it is very difficult for people to pick. The “crocodile workers” mainly rely on experience, climbing and picking without protective gear, so the risk of falling and being injured is very high. They chose the job of picking crocodiles that was both dangerous, “sneaky”, and uninsured, a job that in the old days people still called with an unfriendly attitude – “the tamarind, the crocodile climber”, also just because of only two words “for a living”. When we asked the crocodile sellers if they were afraid of danger, many just laughed. “It takes a long time to get used to climbing, you have to try and take advantage of it! Crocodile season only lasts about 2-3 months, so we have to try to pick as much as possible, take advantage of earning extra income and send it back to our family, “said Mr. Long. A customer buys crocodiles on Phan Dinh Phung street. On average, a crocodile-picker can pick 20-25kg of crocodiles per day, groups of 3-5 people can collect more crocodiles. Hoai’s family (from Thanh Hoa) will divide the work, at dawn her husband picks crocodiles, in the morning, he does other jobs such as driving motorbike taxis, collecting rice water, …; And she will sell alligators during the day, when will she return. Hoai said: “This year because of the epidemic, few people went out, so they sold less than every year, and the price of crocodiles also decreased. Like last year, my family sold 50-60 thousand/kg of crocodile, but this year the disease caused the price of crocodile at the beginning of the crop to be 40,000/kg, now it only fluctuates in the range of 30-35 thousand/kg.” Thus, the average daily income of people who pick crocodiles is from 500 to 600 thousand VND, at peak times can be up to millions of dollars. Crocodile pickers are poor laborers Although the work of picking crocodiles is hard, it brings a high income for poor workers like Mr. Long. Income from a crocodile crop is about several tens of millions of dong, which is a large amount of money to help them cover their daily lives. Mr. Long looked at the bags of crocodiles displayed on the sidewalk and said: “Doing this job is hard work but it is worth it, after doing it for a long time, I feel love and miss! But crocodiles do not have to bear fruit all year round, just take advantage of the beginning of May and June every year to earn a little more. The functional forces also remind us all the time, because they are afraid of climbing and falling, but if the crocodile stays on the tree forever, it will also grow old, it will be a waste to fall down.” Crocodile pickers are all self-employed. Most of the crocodile pickers are laborers from the provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, etc. They are self-employed manual laborers in Hanoi. Some people work as assistants, some work as drivers, shine shoes, … only when the crocodile season comes, they pull together along the streets with crocodiles to make a living. At the end of the crocodile season, they resume their work in the year. Anh Hung (32 years old, from Thanh Hoa) works as a motorbike taxi driver, every time he takes a break from work to pick crocodiles with some brothers in the group. Thanks to harvesting crocodiles, he has money to cover his living expenses and send money back to his hometown for his children to study. Hung said that crocodiles can only be picked on sunny days, when it rains, the tree can’t be climbed. “Looks like it’s going to rain in a few days, we have to take advantage of the sunny day to pick up a little more to sell to make money”, Mr. Hung told us while selling. “This Hanoi crocodile is very popular with many people, not like the forest crocodile, its shell is thick, rough, the water is acrid, not as pure and domestic as the Hanoi crocodile. Look at this, this crocodile has just been picked, the stem is still full of plastic, the bite sounds crispy in the mouth, it’s been eaten!” – A salesman eagerly greets customers. Crocodile fruit – a typical gift of Ha Thanh. Phuong (25 years old, Ba Dinh) said: “I like crocodiles because they taste clean, not as harsh as lemons. Taking advantage of the crocodile season, I have to go to the tree to buy fresh crocodiles, but at the market, all crocodiles come from the provinces, the taste is not as good as my Hanoi crocodile. This season, I buy crocodiles to cook soup and make drinking water for the whole family.” Hanoi crocodile, a typical gift of the capital, is both a “fishing rod” of poor workers. That idyllic fruit is a gift from mother nature, also a sweat and hard work, which must be exchanged with the life of the crocodile-picker. Another season of crocodiles has returned, and the lives of people who make a living are busy again.

Despite the advancement of science, some people still believe in conspiracy theories and legends from time immemorial, despite scientific proof. Here are some things that make no sense, but some people still believe them.
  first. Flat Earth

Photo: BrightSide It sounds ridiculous, but there are still people who believe that the Earth is flat, even though NASA has proven it with GPS positioning and images from space satellites. Some people believe in the old map theory that the Earth is completely flat and stationary, centered around the North and South Poles. Reality: NASA has taken countless vivid pictures to prove that the earth is spherical. There are easier ways to verify that. A suggestion for you to check the horizon by trying to climb a tree. The higher you climb, the further you can see, the more clearly you can see the curvature of the earth. 2. When the Moon is full, people will change Photo: BrightSide An age-old legend leads people to believe that most crimes happen on full moons because the moon drives people crazy. Even police stations in the UK require extra vigilance around full moons. Reality : That is completely absurd. Studies show that there is no link between the increase in crime during full moons. This event can also be explained because most of the time, the full moon falls on a holiday or weekend. 3. Vaccines “bad” Photo: BrightSide In a recent survey, 45% of American adults were asked about vaccines and they answered negatively, questioning the effectiveness of vaccines and their safety. So more and more people stop vaccinating their children as well as themselves. According to the World Health Organization, hesitancy to use vaccines is listed in the top 10 threats to global health in 2019. In fact, vaccines prevent and cure many diseases. For example, the tragedy of Pertussis, which disappeared for decades and returned to spread everywhere, doctors recommend vaccines to prevent such diseases, both safe and effective, but more and more women Parents decide not to vaccinate their children. 4. Australia is not real and its inhabitants are just actors diễn Photo: BrightSide Some people believe that Australia does not exist. According to some theories, when Australia was founded it was just a British military base, in fact Britain killed all the prisoners and no island existed. This strange thing was reported by a number of famous magazines. Truth: This is a very obvious thing, Australia exists. You can find all the information about Australia on the Internet, NASA satellite images, or you can book a flight there. 5. The Loch Ness Monster is real. Photo: BrightSide There are still many people who believe in the legend of the creature called the “Loch Ness Monster”. The terrifying giant creature is said to live in Loch Ness in Scotland. Rumors have been circulating since a doctor visited the area and captured the moment he saw this legendary creature emerge from the water, since then many have claimed to have seen it with their own eyes. see the creature. The truth is that there is no such thing as a “Loch Ness Monster”. No evidence has been found that the photo is fake. However, according to subsequent studies, the photos appear to be staged. Some scientists have been exploring the continent, collecting DNA samples, and have discovered that what people see is likely a giant eel or a seal. 6. Dark Side of the Moon. Photo: BrightSide It is believed that we cannot see 100% of the Moon, because an area is always dark and frozen. In fact, this can be explained by the cycle of the moon. The moon is fullest at the position where the sun’s reflection is maximum and waning when the angle is oblique, but there is no darkness at all. 7. There is no global warming. Photo: BrightSide Although it is hard to believe, there are still some people who deny about global warming and claim that nature is not affected by the terrible effects that humans have caused. People are skeptical about climate change, they are against science, like oil companies or industrial parks. The reality is that climate change is happening and it’s man-made. Greenhouse gas emissions are the main cause of global warming. Scientists also agree to prove global warming and there are more than 1000 papers dealing with this issue and its negative effects on humans.

Photo: Sina. The phenomenon has become so widespread that the monument management has to repair the ancient wall after each wave of visitors, an employee here said. The ancient city wall was built in the early days of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and overlaps the ruins from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the total length is 13.7 km. Therefore, “it is impossible to arrange for employees to stand in one place all day,” said the staff here. In addition to hanging on the wall, visitors here also sit on the railing to take pictures or take off their shoes in public. Similarly, Shaolin Temple, a tourist attraction in Henan province, was also vandalized by some unscrupulous tourists. According to the news site Feidian Videos , a teenage boy was recorded drawing on an ancient stone stele in the temple dating back more than 500 years. Tourists carve their names on bamboo near Shaolin Temple Photo: South China Morning Post. The bamboo stalks near the Shaolin Temple are also graffitied or engraved with words in the form of “A was here” or “A and B 1314” (ie A and B will be together forever). In another video, a group of adults climbs a bamboo trunk and even encourages their children to do the same. When asked why he climbed a bamboo tree, one adult said it was “for exercise”. Facing this situation, the management of tourist attractions has strengthened the handling of “uncivilized” tourists. On May 3, Huangzongyu National Forest Park in Anhui province had to chase away two male guests after they climbed the protective fence of a glass bridge 200 meters above the ground to impress and take photos and transmit messages. local media reported. Despite shouting warnings from other tourists, the two men continued to put on a performance like “Spider-Man”. The management of the ancient city wall in Xi’an is somewhat more creative in preventing dangerous acts. They sent a group of young men dressed as soldiers of the Tang Dynasty to politely warn tourists not to damage the monument. “When we see such guests, our warriors will come and ask them to stop doing that. These people use language as if they were in the Tang Dynasty,” a spokesman for the Xi’an city wall management board told Sohu News .

Visitors climb a bamboo tree at the sacred Shaolin Temple site in Henan, central China. Photo: Handout According to the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong, China), during the last 5 days of the International Labor Day holiday, the Chinese government recorded 230 million trips, an increase of 103% compared to the same period last year. term 2019. But tourist attractions in mainland China have witnessed many rude behaviors of visitors, such as climbing up ancient walls and graffiti on centuries-old steles. In Xi’an, the ancient capital of China famous for the Statue of Qin Shi Huang (also known as the Terracotta Army), some tourists were caught climbing the ancient city walls, causing many bricks to fall. . It is known as one of the main attractions of the city, built more than 600 years ago, according to China Youth Daily. In a video posted this week, a group of adults are seen climbing the outer wall of Xi’an Ancient City to take pictures, while others help their children climb up the ruins to play. . These practices have become so common that the attraction’s service center has to repair the ancient structure after each peak tourist wave, said a center employee. Since the wall was built in the early days of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) on a site from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), a total length of 13.7 km, so the staff said the site “It’s not possible to have multiple supervisors all the time.” Other uncivilized behaviors include sitting on railings to take pictures and taking off shoes in public. Tourists climb the ancient city wall in Xi’an, China. Photo: Handout The Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, a famous Buddhist monastery that attracts crowds of tourists, also exhibits unacceptable behavior. A teenager has been seen drawing on an ancient stele. According to the engraver’s signature, this stele is more than 500 years old. Inscriptions in the style of graffiti street art are also engraved on the bamboo tree near the temple. Graffiti-style inscriptions are left on an ancient monument in central China. A group of adults even climbed the bamboo tree and encouraged their children to do the same, causing the tree to fall. When asked why he climbed a tree, one adult casually said “for exercise”. Tourists carve their own names on an ancient bamboo tree in Shaolin Temple. Huangzangyu National Forest Park in Anhui province had to expel two tourists on May 3 after the couple climbed the safety fence of a glass bridge to impress others and take pictures. Although the bridge is about 200 meters above the ground, the men still carelessly performed the “Spider-Man” performance, despite shouts of danger from other visitors. A man climbs the safety fence of a bridge in Anhui to make an impression. Site staff will send a group of men disguised as Tang Dynasty soldiers to politely warn visitors. “When we see such tourists, our soldiers will approach and ask them to stop doing it, in the way that was common in the Tang Dynasty,” said Guo Hui, a spokesman for the site. the said.

Reader Hai Le Cao shares a 3-day, 2-night journey to conquer the most arduous Nam Kang Ho Tao trekking in the Northwest with complex and dangerous terrain.
Belonging to Lai Chau and Lao Cai provinces, Nam Kang Ho Tao is a wild mountain area with many slippery and steep cliffs. Many backpackers call this the “mortal road”. With many complex terrain, without a helmet, you can hardly pass.

Below is the 3-day 2-night schedule to conquer Nam Kang Ho Tao of readers Hai Le Cao. Choose the right route You can choose 2 routes to climb the top of Nam Kang Ho Tao. If you have good physical strength, experience and like to try difficult roads, you should choose to start in Lai Chau province and return to Lao Cai province. Choosing this route, you will encounter romantic stone streams and primeval ancient forests. The terrain of this direction is suitable for all subjects. Ideal timing Around February-March or September-November is the time for you to conquer this road. Dry weather, less fog will make it easier to determine the direction. You should not trek this route in the rainy season or after a long rain. The mossy cliffs are quite slippery, the streams will become dangerous rushing water. Schedule The first day: 7h: The group moves by car from Sa Pa to Thao A village. The distance is about 90 km. 11h: Delegation to the village, meet the porter, distribute food and drink before departure. Right after that, the group started the journey. The first 1-2 km I found the road easy to go. The terrain is not too steep, enough for us to warm up and catch up with the challenge behind. After 1-2 km, starting to come to the stream, the terrain is gradually complicated, slopes and big rocks appear. After climbing the slope, I encountered the first big rock with a beautiful view. You should check-in here to get the photos you like. Continue going, the main road is still streams and rocks. I met the 2nd and 3rd giant stones in turn. The Nam Kang Ho Tao road has a lot of repetition, but it is not easy to conquer. I am impressed with the 3rd stone because it is located in a high position, with water pouring down, creating a beautiful scene. After crossing 3 rocks, I immediately met a small waterfall with a cool blue lake. The delegation stopped here to swim, play and continue the journey. I see that those who are weak in this bow will have a hard time. Because the terrain is mainly streams and rocky slopes, it requires you to use your calves to jump continuously. You can overcome it by preparing yourself a support stick, which helps to take power from your hands to support your legs. After a long journey, the group finally reached the campsite. I ended the first day with a barbecue served by Mr. porter. Monday: 6h: The group wakes up quickly for personal hygiene and moves to camp 2. The road is mainly steep, but walking in the cool forest and fresh morning air, you will not feel tired. 8:30: Our group went to camp 2 to eat and rest. 10 am: The group continues to depart. The next road must continuously follow the stream. The boulders appear more often. You will have to jump continuously to go through this journey. After a long journey, we will come to the saddle area, which is an area divided on one side to Lai Chau, the other to Lao Cai. Because the place does not have a shack, if you leave your things, you should arrange them neatly to avoid passersby. Our group rested, had lunch here until 14:00 and continued the journey. I find the road to the top lighter because it has reduced the burden of the backpack. The rest of the road is less difficult, the slope is not too high. Near the top, you will pass through the bamboo forest. Gloves, hats or glasses will make you safer. 16h: The group reached the top of Nam Kang Ho Tao. From here, you can zoom out to see the majestic scenery of the mountains. After resting, taking pictures at the top, the group returned to the junction to leave their belongings at 17:30. The way down is always faster and easier. 18:30: Return to the camp, eat, rest, end day 2. The third day : During the trip, I was quite sad because Nam Kang Ho Tao was not as beautiful as I imagined. However, the last day when returning to Lao Cai was the highlight of this whole trip. 6h: The group wakes up, collects luggage. 7:00 am: The group begins to descend the mountain. This is the time when the sun begins to creep through the leaves, peeking at the stream bank. The scene that appeared before my eyes made me bewildered and tried to go slowly to take a closer look. On the journey down the mountain, you will encounter ancient trees of huge size or slopes like challenging conquerors. The sudden drop in altitude from 1,700 m to 1,400 m can take less than an hour for inexperienced people to conquer. 14h: I go to Den Thang board and move by motorbike to Sa Pa to rest and have dinner. 20h: Me and my companion get on the bus back to Hanoi in the night, ending the journey. Trip cost (2 people) – 2-way sleeper bus ticket / 2 people: 880,000 VND (recommended to book round trip ticket will get 40,000 VND discount) – Ticket to the forest: 500,000 VND/2 people (porter is free) – Food: 1,299 million VND/3 people (including porter) – Porter rental: 1.5 million dong/3 days – Rent a motel for porter to Sa Pa to wait for the delegation: 100,000 VND – Car fare from Den Thang village to Sa Pa: 900,000 VND/3 car – Total cost: about 5.2 million VND/2 people

China drew a line on Mount Everest to prevent Covid-19. Photo: NatGeo Reuters news agency, citing Chinese national media, said so on May 9. According to Beijing, it is a precautionary measure. Everest base camp on the Nepal side was hit by a spike in Covid-19 infections in late April. The Nepal government, which lacks tourism revenue, has yet to cancel spring climbing, which usually starts in April and lasts until early June, before the monsoon. It is not immediately clear how the upper boundary will be established on the small, dangerous, hard-to-navigate mountaintop and about the size of a dining table. A small group of climbing guides in Tibet will climb Everest and set up a divider at the summit to prevent any contact between climbers on both sides of the peak, Xinhua reported. said the head of the Tibet Sports Authority. A group of 21 Chinese nationals were on their way to Mount Everest on the Tibetan side, Xinhua reported. The group of Tibetan guides will set up a divider before the group of 21 arrives. It is not clear whether the Tibetan guides were the ones enforcing the separation, or whether they stayed in the so-called “death zone”, where many people have died due to lack of oxygen, to maintain this boundary no. The summit of the 8,848m-high Mount Everest is a small snow mound, with only enough space for half a dozen climbers and guides to be on it at the same time. China has not allowed any foreign climbers to climb the mountain from the Tibetan side since the Covid-19 outbreak last year due to concerns about contagion. Tourists in the scenic Everest region in Tibet are also prohibited from visiting the base camp on the Tibetan side.

Rhiannan Iffland said: “We just did a jump into the water from a flying hot air balloon. This is my first time diving again after falling out of a hot air balloon. It was a special feeling, all acting out too quickly”. Rhiannan Iffland jumped into the water from a height of about 18 meters in a hot air balloon Impressive feat Rhiannan Iffland performed nearly a year of training, after performing a jump from a hot air balloon into the water and diving unsuccessfully in November last year due to bad weather. Rhiannan Iffland, a cliff diving athlete revealed: “I love this sport. What attracts me the most is the fact that I have the opportunity to dive after jumping from different heights, exotic locations. , weird around the world. Diving after jumping out of a hot air balloon is at the top of my wish list for a long time. Last year, when it was not successful with this plan, Rhiannan Iffland was extremely disappointed. The girl did not participate in any events and did not feel motivated to do anything else. Rhiannan Iffland specifically focuses on the idea of diving after jumping out of a hot air balloon. “Today, when we climbed very high, I was a little hesitant, worried, unsure about whether to continue or not. I reassured myself that okay we will fly straight over the target area. I jumped down. Yes, I finally jumped down super fast, “said Rhiannan Iffland. This woman jumped into the water from a height of about 18 meters. Rhiannan Iffland has dived in different waters many times, but this is the first time she has resumed diving after jumping from a hot air balloon. She always feels lucky to work with pilots who know exactly what they need to do, who are also focused on the job. As a cliff diving athlete, Rhiannan Iffland has traveled the world to satisfy his passion, performing dances in places such as the Philippines, Spain, Portugal and Italy. She once jumped off cliffs up to 27 meters high, reaching speeds of more than 85km/h.

On the morning of April 19, the Facebook network community spread the image of a group of 40 tourists “pressing” on the To Vo gate landscape (West village, An Vinh commune, Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province) to take pictures. Most of the comments expressed frustration because they thought that the act of group of tourists climbing to To Vo gate together with such a number of 40 people easily caused the gate to collapse.

In recent years, the structure of To Vo gate is being eroded by sea waves, especially in the rainy and stormy season. “Every year, tens of thousands of tourists come to visit. Since 2017, Ly Son District People’s Committee has posted warning signs that no more than 7 people go up To Vo gate at the same time. The image of children and parents carefree climbing and playing at the 112 million yuan (US$17 million) “Circle of Life” structure that is the symbol of the city of Fushun. Liaoning province, northeast China, startled many people.

Although the local government has announced that it will install railings to prevent people from approaching, this area is still a place that attracts many children to play. Previously, the government of Phushun city asserted that this strange architecture was built simply to adorn the urban beauty. Even to build the “Circle of Life”, city planners had to cancel 3 other works. Built in 2012, the “Circle of Life” architecture is about 153 meters high and is made from a giant 3,000-ton steel block. At night, the bracelet is lit with 12,000 LEDs. A viral video on Chinese social media shows children carefree climbing up and then sliding down excitedly from the curve of the “Circle of Life”. Although there are signs near this structure that prohibit visitors from approaching, children and parents still often come here to play. “It is difficult to prevent children from climbing, maybe the local government should install fences to prevent people from approaching”, “The budget should be used to build real slides, instead of building giant hoops this”, are 2 of the comments of Chinese netizens.

Normally in the house we will install fabric curtains, plastic curtains in the house … But if your window is not too bright and absorbs heat, what will you do to turn the window into a highlight in the room. Please refer to the following ways …
1. Stained glass

Not all windows can be made of stained glass, but if stained glass is suitable for house architecture and you do not want to use common and boring curtains, choose stained glass to accentuate for the house. If used intelligently, you will make the house unique, different and nostalgic and lovely. 2. Trees Trees are a not bad solution to replace curtains with windows that are not too bright in the sun. Of course, you have to choose plants that are heat-resistant and have the function of purifying the air. 3. Lamp wire The window sparkling with light from string lights is suitable for those who are lively, open, and partying. You can choose the color, brightness, length or number of strings according to your preference. The window will surely be extremely bright, shimmering at night. 4. Other materials This choice is suitable for skillful people who like to decorate with their own hands. You can use a variety of materials: colored stickers, fabrics, pigments … to decorate your windows. This overlay can be constantly changed depending on your preference. 5. Matte window stickers This material allows enough light to penetrate the glass so that the room has enough light, without using curtains. However, you won’t be able to see your surroundings when you close the window. You can buy a plastic film glued to the window glass in case you want a change. 6. Cat home All cats love to climb and lie down in the sun. What could be more wonderful if you arranged a lovely, small bed right under the window for your pet. Surely this will be a cute and lovely window that everyone wants to visit your room.

On Easter last weekend, British people flocked to scenic spots on the south coast to take advantage of the atmosphere because travel restrictions were loosened.

This has led to the situation that some tourists ignore the warnings, approaching dangerous areas, especially cliffs, according to the report. News.com.au. Present at Birling Gap near Eastbourne, east Sussex, many tourists were heartbroken when they saw two girls jumping up high, raising their hands to pose for a photo. The place where two girls check-in is just steps away from the edge of a limestone cliff. This area is warned to be “unstable”, very dangerous and is also advised by the National Trust (an organization that protects historic and scenic places in the UK). Two female adventure tourists check-in on the cliff. Only in 2020, about 50 cliffs on the east coast of Sussex will collapse. Visitors walking at the beach are often advised to keep their head above their head, away from the cliffs in case of falling rocks. The East Sussex Council has also issued warnings after noting a significant cliff drop at Birling Gap and a potentially slumping cliff at Seaford Head. In October 2020, Orlando Serrano-Arzola (25 years old) went to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Arizona (USA) to visit. When climbing to the top of the cliff overlooking the Colorado River, near Canyon Dam Overlook for a photo shoot, Orlando fell from a height of about 30 meters, then slid for more than 46 meters. After the fall, the 25-year-old man did not survive. In the process of bringing Orlando’s body from the foot of the canyon, the authorities also discovered the remains of another victim.

Although I have lived in the imperial capital for a long time, I haven’t climbed the Great Wall for a long time.
The weather was particularly good on the weekend, and on a whim, I went to Jiuyanlou with my friends.

There are many Great Walls in Beijing, with a total length of about 573 kilometers. Badaling, Mutianyu, Juyongguan, Gubeikou… Regarding the Great Wall, there are many controversial selections in the market. But if it is the most precarious one, it should be no controversy. The Jiuyanlou Great Wall is actually part of the Jiankou Great Wall. The Nine Eyes Tower is an enemy platform on the Great Wall. It is located on the main peak of Huoyan Mountain between Sihai Town in Yanqing and Yanqi Town in Huairou. It is 1,141 meters above sea level (1170 meters in one case), which is 155 meters higher than the Wangjing Tower in Simatai. The Nine Eyes Tower is known as the first floor of the Great Wall of China, and it is the largest and highest-level enemy building on the Great Wall. How big is it? There are nine arrow windows on each side of the Jiuyanlou, which is why it is called the “Nine Eyes Tower” (so this section of the Great Wall is also called the Jiuyanlou Great Wall). There are 36 arrow windows on all sides, which are rare among the enemy buildings of the Great Wall. . (On the Yanqing Ming Great Wall, there are about 470 hollow enemy platforms. Except for the Nine Eyes Tower, there are no more than 5-6 arrow windows at most) The location of the Great Wall of the Nine Eyes Tower is very important. The Ming Great Wall is divided into two groups here, the inner Great Wall and the outer Great Wall. It can be seen that in addition to high altitude and large scale, its geographic location is also very important. The Nine Eyes Tower was built in the Ming Dynasty, and the specific age is untestable. It was originally a two-story hollow enemy platform. Now the upper floor has been destroyed. The restored Nine Eyes Tower is very majestic, but it is a bit too new and has no historical vicissitudes before it was repaired. sense. The picture below is from the Yanqing Cultural Tourism Bureau, the Nine Eyes Building before the renovation. Although the elevation of Jiuyanlou is high, it is not very laborious to get up. From the entrance of the scenic spot, the straight-line distance is about 1.5 kilometers, and the elevation rise is not large. There are very few tourists, and occasionally encounter friends who are outdoors and on foot, and some are travel friends who professionally explore the Great Wall. Although it is already mid-April, in the mountains, spring is still long overdue. Therefore, this kind of purple flower is particularly dazzling, like purple pearls under the sun, I searched it, and it is called Yinghong Rhododendron. As the saying goes, in April the world will be full of flowers, and the mountain temple Du Juan will begin to bloom. Climbing to the Nine Eyes Tower, the view is particularly good, and the scenery is very spectacular. The eagles of the Jiankou Great Wall, the Western Great Wall, the Beijing knot, and the Xizhazi Village at the foot of the mountain, and the Huoyanshan Yingpan site not far away clear and distinct. The Great Wall winds between the mountains and is really magnificent. The Jiankou Great Wall is indeed a great wall with stories. Eagles fly down, Beijing knots, Jiuyanlou…each of them can tell many stories. The eagle flying upside down is the most dangerous part of the Great Wall. Legend has it that eagles have to turn upside down and fly upside down, hence the name eagle flying upside down. In the early years, it is said that every year there are people here who “memorialize the Great Wall with their lives”. This is the news.
Mount Everest may no longer be immune to COVID-19. Photo: DW Even the highest peak in the world is no longer immune to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. There has been at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 from a base camp on the southern edge of Mount Everest in Nepal. After suffering from high-altitude cerebral edema syndrome (HAPE), this person was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the capital Kathmandu, tested and diagnosed positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. The members of the group immediately had to undergo quarantine. A mountain climber with COVID-19 is identified as a Norwegian citizen. He said he may have been infected during the climb from the foot of the mountain to the main camp mentioned above. It is reported that at least three people in the climbing crew were infected with SARS-CoV-2. For its part, the Nepal Tourism Board intends to deny this, saying that the incident is still under investigation and that information about the infection is just rumors. As of April 21, Nepal has granted licenses to 377 individuals who want to climb mountains and conquer Mount Everest in 2021, only slightly less than the record number of 2019. With a population of 30 million, Nepal has recorded approximately 285,000 cases and 3,000 deaths from COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic. At the end of March, the government loosened restrictions on tourists. To gain entry, international travelers only need to present a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or a PCR test negative for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours of arrival. If an additional negative test is performed at the capital airport, the traveler is free to travel in Nepal.

Families should take the necessary safety measures to avoid unfortunate accidents to their children. According to the Westmead Children’s Hospital (CHW) in Australia, an average of 10 children are brought to CHW every year after falling from a balcony. Most of these children fall from their balconies, of which approximately 75% are under the age of five. Westmead Children’s Hospital provides care and treatment for 80,000 sick and injured children each year. This is the largest pediatric center in the state of New South Wales, Australia, with the capital city of Sydney; Child treatment in New South Wales, Australia and Pacific Rim countries. To protect children from unfortunate accidents from balconies, CHW has introduced balcony and railing safety recommendations. As defined by the CHW, a balcony is an area of a building that is positioned higher than the ground. If the balcony is at a height of 1m above the ground, it must be surrounded (barrier) by a railing. A balcony railing as a guard or barrier is usually made of iron or wooden slats. Glass panels are also commonly used. How can children be injured at the balcony? Young children may get their heads, arms or legs stuck in between the gaps in the railing. Young children may fall over the gap between the railing if the distance between them is too large. The slightly older kids may slip or stumble over the balcony doorway and fall to the balcony floor. Children can also fall off the balcony if they can climb over the balcony railing. For example, horizontal bars on a railing can allow a child to climb over the railing. Items such as potted plants or outdoor furniture placed next to the railing can also be used as ladders for children to climb. According to CHW statistics, an average of 10 children are brought to this hospital every year after falling from a balcony. Most of these children fall from their balconies. Of the children brought to the CHW, approximately 75% are under the age of five, 40% occur in the summer, and three out of every five cases that are taken to the hospital are boys. During the period 2008-2018, 88 children were taken to CHW for treatment due to a fall from the balcony. A large number of those injuries are rated serious. Fall injuries, even from low heights, can be serious; “40% of fatal falls, among children under 15 years old in Australia, are from a height of less than 3 feet (91.44cm). Corridor windows on each floor are also potentially unsafe if precautions are not taken. How to prevent accidents from the balcony? Australia’s National Building Act requires balcony balustrades to be at least 1m high if the balcony is more than 1m above the surface below. Any space in the handrail should not allow a circular object 12.5cm in diameter to pass through. Where balconies are located more than 4 meters above the lower surface, the barriers must not have horizontal sections or resemble horizontal (climbable) sections between 15cm and 76cm above floor. According to CHW, to ensure the safety of children, families need to ensure that their family’s balcony or railing is at least 1m high and the distance between vertical bars is not wider than 12.5cm. Balcony balustrades should not have cross bars or the like that can allow young children to climb. All furniture, potted plants and other climbable objects should be kept away from the edge of the balcony. Adults should also beware of furniture that is light enough that children can pull to the edge of the balcony; Check the balustrades regularly to make sure they are in good condition; Supervise children while they are on the balcony and can lock the balcony doors to keep them out. In Vietnam, nowadays, one of the most popular ways to keep children safe from unfortunate balconies is to install safety nets. Especially in high-rise apartments, areas such as corridors of each floor, balconies, windows are places with potential risks of unsafety. The balcony safety net is made up of three main parts: the cable, two aluminum bars and the screws. The stainless steel core cables and plastic shells will be woven into a specialized aluminum bar system that is tightly mounted on the ceiling and railing. The usual distance between two cables is 5cm. This distance is enough to prevent children and many objects from getting through. The cost of installing safety net ranges from 150,000 VND to 180,000 VND / 1m2, depending on the installation area and materials. Answering questions of people related to the installation of safety cable nets in apartments, the Ho Chi Minh City Fire Department said: “The installation and supplementation of protective cable nets at the department The building does not affect the fire safety conditions of the building, however, these protective cable nets must be easily dismantled in case the fire department is approached. to serve the rescue and rescue work in case of fire and explosion incidents “. The safety net has a fairly simple structure, the installation cost is not too high and provides great support in ensuring safety for families in apartments or high-rise buildings, especially families with young children. Families should take the necessary safety measures to avoid unfortunate accidents to their children.

Construction experts emphasized that high-rise balconies have an important function in fire rescue and rescue work. People are absolutely not sealed.
Assoc. Ho Chi Minh City is strictly regulated. He also made recommendations for the installation of protective nets in balcony areas.

The protective net must be easily cut off Regarding the fact that some apartments are fitted with protective nets to ensure the safety of children in the balcony and windows, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Chung admits that this is a quite convenient and effective tool in existing condominiums. now on. However, he noted that the material of the protective nets should be properly chosen because it is related to ensuring safety against fire and explosion. “As a rule, the balcony area of the building has a very important task to rescue and rescue when there is a fire or incident in the building. The rescue force will use the means to pick up people through the area. balcony, “said Mr. Tung. Therefore, the space above the handrail is very necessary, absolutely not sealed or reinforced with fences, iron cages. If people install protective nets, it is necessary to use materials that are easy to cut off, not too solid. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Chung, former Director of the State Department of Construction Quality Inspection (Ministry of Construction). Photo: ASHUI. Through the incident of the girl escaping despite falling from the 12A floor of the building that just happened, Mr. Tung said that this was an extremely rare event. Through each case, the authorities need to investigate and clarify the cause to widely propagate safety conditions in the apartment. Families living in the apartment building should observe and re-evaluate the safety level in the balcony hallways and their windows to adjust accordingly; Avoid unfortunate cases, especially in large urban areas with dense apartment density. The railing is up to standard but can still be accidental Talking about the height of the railing of the apartment building, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Chung said that these details must meet the standards for the building to be accepted and put into use. “The regulations of the Ministry of Construction are very clear in this regard, the balustrades of apartments and high-rise buildings are specified that the height must be 1.4 m. The regulation also states that the structure of the handrail must not be there are more structures to climb, “said Dr. Tran Chung. In addition to the already specific technical legal corridor, in urban areas with high density of high-rise buildings, it is necessary to pay attention to checking and controlling safety conditions. Local inspection units, State management agencies in the construction field must strictly conduct pre-acceptance tests before they can be put into use. “The legal corridor and tools for us to manage have been guaranteed. However, similar cases still occur. We have to look at each case to dissect the cause”, Assoc. Race said. According to Dr. Tran Chung, if people install protective nets on the balcony, it is necessary to use materials that are easy to cut off, not too solid. Photo: Duc Anh. According to Mr. Tung, there are several main causes of these unfortunate accidents. In which, the balcony area is often used by people as a place to store, plant flowers and ornamental plants, accidentally turning into steps for children to climb and easily climb over the railing. Along with that, the balcony of the building is absolutely not a play place for children, especially when not supervised by adults. He suggested families with children should regularly close the doors to the balcony area, limit the opening of large-sized windows, limit bed racks, cabinets, window furniture … According to the construction standards of housing and public works in Vietnam issued by the Ministry of Construction in 2008, high-rise buildings or apartment buildings with children under 5 years old living or frequently frequented, balustrades must meet standards. Standard: A handrail gap does not pass a sphere 100 mm in diameter and is not constructed to allow children to easily climb over the railing. For houses, offices, schools, offices and public works, the minimum height is 1.4 m in the lot and terrace at the positions of 9 floors or more. The handrail in the stairs and other locations is from 0.9 m to 1.1 m. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Manh: ‘I just want a simple life’ Driver Nguyen Ngoc Manh said that after saving the girl who fell from the 12A floor, he was asked by many people. This man just wants a simple life to continue his unfinished plans.

No matter what kind of wildlife you encounter, the first thing you need to do is stay calm and not run away at will because it will make you prey in their eyes.
  1. When meeting wild deer

Most wild deer have no contact with humans. However, when threatened and during heat season, wild deer will probably attack you. In this case, calm down and slowly step back. If it shows signs of rushing to attack you, put an obstacle between you and the deer and run away or climb the tree. In case you can’t run away or can’t climb the tree, raise your arms and spread your jacket open for a creepier look. When attacked by a deer, protect your head and neck by curling up like the pose shown in the photo above. 2. When meeting a bear The bear does not usually come near noisy areas, but in case you happen to encounter a bear in the forest, absolutely do not scream or run away or climb into a tree, as the bear runs very fast and can break the tree. Easily. Make yourself look bigger by reaching up high, holding your backpack or jacket over your head, and slowly backing away. Once you are out of sight of the bear, you can run away quickly to safety. 3. When meeting a lion Mountain lions often attack prey from behind so never turn your back on it or run away because you definitely cannot run faster. You need to be more fierce than it is. You stand up straight and look him in the eye, hold your coat up high to look more scary. If necessary, throw whatever you have at it. If a mountain lion attacks, do not stand still but fight back. Try to hit its eyes, nose, and mouth and it may leave you alone. 4. When meeting wolves Wolves often live and move in groups. If you see a wolf it means others are probably also around. So, if your wolf sees a fairly large distance from you, slowly walk away in silence until you reach safety. However, if the distance between you and the wolf is very close and it has noticed you, here’s what you should do: – Slowly step back and don’t look away. – If the wolf comes close, scream as loudly as possible at its face and throw whatever is on it at it. Pay attention to your footsteps, for if you stumble, the wolf will pounce on you immediately. – In that case, attack with the most forceful force on its eyes and nose. When it sees you as a dangerous subject, it leaves. 5. When meeting a bison Keep your distance from the bison, as the bison will only attack when someone approaches it. Don’t be fooled by their slow, gentle appearance, bison can run three times faster than a human and have very strong vigor. If you accidentally approach a bison and see signs of wanting to attack you, give up. Find shelter behind trees, rocks, or any other object large enough to hide or climb on trees. Once you see that the bison has moved away, you can now move to safety. 6. When you meet the newspaper Never go near a leopard, especially cheetahs. Cheetahs may not be intimidating, but their mother will attack anything that gets close to her to protect her. If you come across a cheetah, stand still and do not make eye contact. If the leopard is about to attack, shout, wave, clap, or do anything to make you look more dangerous. 7. When meeting the hyena Instinctively, hyenas will chase anyone who runs away. So when you encounter a hyena, calm down and talk to it. If you have food, throw it to the hyena. Hyenas are lazy animals and if there is something to eat, it will most likely leave you alone. If it approaches you, surprise them by taking a few steps toward it and making loud noises, waving, clapping, trying to look as scary as possible. The hyena will think you are about to attack and it will most likely run away. 8. When meeting a wild boar The wild boar is extremely ferocious. So if you spot a wild boar in the distance, don’t stop to take a photo but leave the area immediately. If you are too close to the boar, do not run away, but do the following: – Keep calm and step back slowly. – If it comes towards you, climb the tree. Boars cannot climb so after being bored they will leave. – If it goes crazy and decides to get along with you and you can’t find any place to hide, fight it. A fight with a boar usually lasts only about a minute, you should fight until it leaves. Dieu Linh (According to Bright Side)

The received information must be verified, if you do not want to receive a trick from the online community.
In a world filled with fake news, it is really hard for us to quickly believe any information on the internet. Even sites that are most trustworthy sometimes stumble upon misinformation. That is why we have to verify every information we receive, especially when it comes from social networks.

Here are the facts that many people believed absolutely, until they found out that they are just tricks of the Internet.

Can’t you park your car on Japanese streets?

Truth spread on the Internet and reality

Netizens around the world often show admiration for Japanese streets, that the streets here look great because there are no cars.

In fact, this is only partially true. In 1957, Japan enacted a ban on parking on the street. However, some roads in Japan have signs that allow parking. In other words, there will still be cars parked on the road in Japan.

It is quite interesting that if you want to buy a car in Japan, you need to prove to the local authorities that you have a place to park your car. Either your house has a place, or you have to rent a parking space for the same price as a small apartment.

Babies born on airplanes can fly anywhere, completely free of charge

Actually this is a quite complicated question, because each country will have different rules. In general, every child can hold 2 nationalities if born on an airplane. However, the problem lies in what second citizenship is.

Because the rules of each country are different, the second nationality can be from the country where the child was born, or belong to the country where the airline is carrying the baby, or depends on where you land or where you land. forward…

Some would argue that airlines would grant a lifetime free flight to a baby born on an airplane, but that’s not entirely true. Only a handful of African and Asian airlines allow it, most until the age of 21, or give away a few flights only.

The truth about the dog-shaped mountain

Netizens around the world used to be very interested in the photo of the mountain with a lying dog. But in fact, this is a photo that has been edited, and the author of the photo corrected it.

The real photo of the cliff looks quite ordinary, although it also looks a bit like a dog.

The photo went viral on the Internet (left) and the real photo (right).

Castle on the rock

Once again an edited work. The rock in the photo above is in Thailand’s Phang Nga National Park, while the castle is actually located in Germany.

Takes 7 years to digest if accidentally swallowed a piece of gum

This is one of the information that many people believe, that if you swallow gum, it will take you 7 years to digest it. The purpose of the sentence is to prevent children from swallowing candy, but it is not.

Gum is made from natural rubber, a sweetener and flavor. Particularly for the rubber part, the stomach will not be able to digest, but if swallowed it will sooner or later come out by another way – that is your toilet.

I have seen it fake, but it turns out there are still many people who believe the photo above is real. Then the final affirmation: It is a photo that has been edited. Background in the picture is the garden in the city of Pristina (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia), and below is the garden when there is no extreme fake elephant.

Decoding super virtual gecko transform video

The video above once caused a storm in the late 2020, with the content of a gecko changing color when climbing a pencil.

But looking at that, there is no such good gecko. The video was actually posted by an Instagram account since June 2020, and was explained by the owner that it was created using computer software.

In fact, many people believe that chameleons can change color to camouflage based on their surroundings. But actually, geckos change color based on … emotions, and that’s how they communicate with the outside world.

Canal flooded with flamingos in Venice

It is true that you can see flamingos in Italy, but not as many as in the photo above and not at that location. This is actually a creation by artist Kristina Makeeva, and Makeeva herself admits this is not a real photo.
