That was the time when the smell of the field, buried the smell of paper and ink in a “souvenir” niche of the heart.

Chau Hong Vo brown rice is produced by Le Quoc Viet hotel in Kien Giang. Photo: THU NGUYEN That rice rice is now searched on Google with only two pieces of information that are nowhere to be found. Ngo Van Ban wrote: “In the past, farmers did rice once a year, and there were crop failures in some years, so it was very important to store rice for eating. If the rice is not stored properly, or the rice rots or is damaged by floods, they will have to suffer hunger and thirst” (1). And by Do Do: “About 50 years ago, my hometown produced 1 rice crop a year, domestic rice varieties (Rice Gon Bot, Gon Se, Nang Huong…), long growing time, high energy. low yield, but resistant to pests and diseases, good drought, no matter what time of planting, wait for the cold north wind to blow on the new rice to flower” (2). Both of these information about Khanh Hoa rice are lame, but can be complementary: cotton rice is a weak photosensitive rice, only made at the end of the year to reap. It’s not like it’s waiting for the north wind to return like Mr. Do said. And Mr. Ban ignored the early rice crop that was done before the summer rice crop. While there was no god-nose rice, there were still local varieties of rice with shorter duration than cotton rice, even quite short days like three-moon rice. Only those rice varieties are not as delicious as cotton rice. When I “put my feet up” in the field, my hometown grew two rice crops – the god Nong rice crop and the six-month rice crop. There is no concept of winter-spring, summer-autumn, autumn-winter at all. It’s the South! Divine rice – a word that ordinary Vietnamese often confuse with Mr. Than Nong in China. The names of the men must not be confused, they must know that the name honors the agricultural profession – the sacred farming profession. The main occupation of the Vietnamese people in the past has been shaken until now. The time of the god of agriculture was also the beginning of the “green revolution” for which its father, Norman Borlaugh, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Until the land became “infertile” like the three-rice crop fields in Vietnam, no one thought, even the “conceptualism”, to give him the Nobel Prize. Red rice Cotton rice planted in the low foot fields is reaped before the wicker season. The foot of the fields that eat the water of the sky often grow melon rice. That red rice has completely disappeared. It is the type of rice that resists the north wind and also makes the growers lose their breath when they were still threshing rice, and was transformed by poets into “threating rice in the night of the moon”, the threshing machine of the land of ginseng yet. enter the South. The grain of rice loofah is very tough, once threshed, it cannot sing. Once, when the rice was in season, my grandfather from Tu Bong and Van Ninh brought it to Dong De, Nha Trang, and gave it to the family. At noon, having a separate meal, my brother and I wanted to cry why “what red rice did you eat today?”. I don’t know if the younger brother “goes back” to eat red rice anymore, but now in this world, red rice is not easy to get and eat, even if he wants to find it, he wants to cry. Bad news! When I grow up, I wonder why rice is so red. Yet there are many types of explanations, sales crap, and science. The ST Red Rice website explains: “The red color of rice is due to iron. When rice plants absorb iron in the soil up in the bran layer, that iron is iron stamen, colorless. When the rice is ripe, the red color gradually increases, through the drying process, iron stamen turns into iron tam to red, becoming a useful source of nutrients for humans” (3). People of science and technology are not “salty” with this explanation. However, the story of iron-rich red rice is the story of Ngoc Do Huong Dua rice, a specialty of Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province. The variety was born around 2015. According to the analysis results of Can Tho University, the iron content in this rice is up to 26.4mg/kg, equal to the iron content in 0.9kg beef. The quality of this rice is superior to Jasmine premium fragrant white rice. The question is, when will the world like to let farmers get rich? Before that, around 2013, a farmer in Oc Eo, Thoai Son, An Giang, restored red rice and named it Hong Ngoc Oc Eo 1, a type of seasonal rice that grows up to 9 months. After that, the author of the rice variety, teacher Danh Van Duong, continued to multiply and cross-breed to give birth to the variety Hong Ngoc Oc Eo 2, with a growth period of 150 days. At Oc Eo 3, there are only 100 days left until the quality of rice begins to be questioned! There is an explanation in favor of the genetics of the variety, saying that because the variety is rich in anthocyanin pigments, it is red. Anthocyanins are organic pigments of natural origin that exist in most higher plants and in some vegetables, flowers, fruits, and seeds with red to purple colors such as grapes, berries, cabbage, and cabbage. purple, perilla leaves, hibicut flowers, black beans, eggplant berries, glutinous rice, red rice… This explanation stands. Out of red rice to red rice The story of my two brothers crying when eating red rice is like that, recently, having a meal of broken rice with seasonal rice of Tu Viet, his son at home wondered: “What kind of rice is not white at all?” Saying that seems like a criticism, but eat like a tiger. Tu Viet broken rice is “born in heaven” broken rice, not broken rice that has gone through “beauty salon” by forced “breaking” method. It’s like the dwarves who dream of Snow White by stretching their legs. Broken rice in the season only needs a cup of mixed fish sauce that is both salty and sweet, a little salty and a little sweet, with pickles of radishes and carrots is enough to give a thumbs up. There is no need to “slack” anything between the “curfew time” of the epidemic season for the complicated “medical declaration” before entering the market or supermarket. Tu Viet, whose full name is Le Quoc Viet, is an agricultural engineer, an economic officer, and was almost “cut off” because of the “crazy season of rice”. Seasonal rice is generally a long-term rice variety that produces high-quality rice. Especially, the rice varieties for fragrant rice of Thailand and Cambodia are only grown in the foothills of the field for one crop to eat water. Once with his friend D.TC passing through the vast one-crop field of Cambodia, at the time of leaving the country, he seemed to say to himself: “Why doesn’t Vietnam teach Cambodia how to farm!” Unexpectedly, a little later, Cambodian rice won the world’s best rice award for three consecutive years from 2013. Back to broken rice season rice. It can also make another dish, porridge. Broken rice cooked with porridge is number 1, sausages of Huu Nghi sausages are number 1, the problem is that you can freely go to Ban Co market to find other delicious offal. Enough to have an “ecosystem” of porridge heart porridge than Cai Tac heart porridge far away. The story of broken rice in the season is still hot, and Tu Viet has launched a type of rice called Chau Hang Vo to the market. The people of this South are so strange, they run out of rice from Chau Hang Vo and then mango Chau Hang Vo. The name rice is read from Chau Hong shell – a kind of pink shell jade; Westerners used to call a grain of rice a pearl. The name mango is from Chau Nghe mango. Could it be that Ba Vuong farewell has been deeply ingrained in the daily life language of the people below? Tu Viet recounted: Recently, I met Ms. TK, who is originally from Can Tho, who only made Chau Hong-hulled seasonal rice. Mr. Viet quoted Ms. K. as saying: “I also like the name Chau Hong shell very much, but the people of Can Tho just like to call it Chau Hang Vo. When it comes to Chau Hang Vo rice, people immediately say that the rice is very delicious and doesn’t need much food. As I personally feel, eating rice is really healthy and strong like Mr. Xiang Vo, that’s why his grandparents called him Chau Hang Vo to emphasize the nature of the rice grain of heaven for the people of Can Tho. Rice cooked with brown rice in Chau Hong season is fragrant and flexible. Photo: THU NGUYEN The first time Vietnamese investment came to know about Chau Hang Vo’s seasonal rice variety was through the Soc Trang Rice Festival in 2011. The second time in 2018 through the story of an 82-year-old farmer, who used to work in shambles. The old man said that when he was young in the Miet Thu area, Kien Giang “has the Chau Hang Vo season rice variety with a characteristic aroma; If I go canoeing down the river, I will know when I pass a house that is cooking rice with Chau grade Vo rice.” Tu Viet worked hard to find seeds and bring them back to try. He said: “During the process of taking care of and cherishing the newly planted seeds, I found that the Chau Hang Vo variety has a slender, slightly elongated shape, most of the seeds have a swish tail, the husk is bright yellow but when soaked in water. It has a dark pink color because the bran layer (silk shell) is purple-red, if the bran layer is scraped, the rice grain is still light pink, not white like some other varieties. On Friday, after Ho Chi Minh City social distancing for 15 days, I received rice with many anecdotes from Tu Viet sent from Kien Giang. Rice consists of two types of brown and bran. Brown is dark red, milled rice is pink to yellow. Chau Hong brown rice with shell holds up to 2 countries, 1 rice is just cooked rice. While cooking with the rice cooker, the rice had a strong aroma. In the past, cooking with firewood must have a more unique aroma, especially when the water is boiling, open the lid of the rice cooker to check if the water is drained or not. The ancients still liked to save that “pearl milk” to nourish children and the elderly. Now, the “grandmother” of the rice cooker is better, but not like the old mother in the place of distilling rice water. Chau Hong brown rice has a soft, flexible shell. Eaten with braised pangasius slightly candy, above all delicious. Those who have the memory of the rice season are also rewarded with memories flowing from their hearts full of silt and nostalgia. You seem to be eating in the middle of the scene of planting, planting, harvesting, drying. Grinding and pounding rice. Scrubbing in the back garden to cook a pot of rice… (1) Ngo Van Ban, Traditional farming in the ancient land of Khanh Hoa, chapter IV (2) Do Do, Rice transplanting ceremony in Ninh Hoa, http://www.ninhhoatoday.net/stbkky78-1.asp (3) http://socrice.com/products/detail/32/gao-st-do

Seed treatment methods using Neonicotinoids, aimed at combating a wide range of harmful insects, are currently raising many questions both economically and environmentally.
Crop yield increases

According to scientists, the reason farming has to use Neonicotinoids is to combat the many predators that are ready to pounce on corn or soybean seeds, every time they are sown in the ground. Seeds are impregnated with drugs before sowing. Photo: Scientific Beekeeping What are neonicotinoids? Neonicotinoid has been banned for use in Australia and Europe since 2013. This is a pesticide derived from nicotine (the addictive substance found in tobacco), the way to use is to dissolve in water and spray on plants. for the plants to absorb themselves, forming an artificial “immune system” to protect the crops. Neoincotinoids are thought to be effective against pests and insects, but are safe for mammals. However, because of its strong effect on insects, it also affects bees directly, reducing the number of pollinators. This pesticide is said to reduce the sperm count of male bees by up to 40%, as well as reduce their lifespan from an average of 22 days to 15 days, thus reducing the chances of male bees fertilizing the queen bee. also decreased. Besides disease, soil-dwelling pests such as helminths and larvae can also damage seeds and seedlings, along with terrestrial insects such as bean leaf beetles and aphids. seeds and saplings. Therefore, in the field of seed treatment against insects and diseases, farmers often treat seeds in combination with fungicides (IST) to help plants sprout straight and grow early. It is easy to mention some of the popular Neonicotinoid IST methods such as Imidacloprid (Gaucho, Bayer Crop Science), Clothianidin (Poncho, BASF) and Thiamethoxam (Cruiser, Syngenta)… Seth Naeve, an agronomist specializing in soybean research at the University of Minnesota Extension (USA), said that Neonicotinoid insecticides are highly water-soluble, helping to activate protection from insects. Great early season. Shawn Potter, Syngenta’s head of seed care product marketing, said that the growth of the seeds after treatment was driven in part by previous seasons. “Early seeding from a wet, cool, or both, seeds and seedlings will be exposed to various diseases. “Without seed treatment, crops could be damaged early on,” said Mr Potter. Nick Tinsley, BASF technical specialist, added: “Farmers and retailers alike can easily treat corn and soybean seeds with Neonicotinoid insecticides as well as fungicides from the company. producers to protect crops”. For decades, seed companies have treated corn with fungicides. However, IST only started to be added to the fungicide seed treatment of soybeans in the early 2000s. Studies have demonstrated that a combination of seed treatment with both fungicides and insecticides increases soybean yield per acre by 2 bushels (equivalent to 72.74 kg/0.4 ha). According to Mr. Potter, in general, each “shift” of treating soybean pest/mushroom combos will cost from 10 to 12 USD per seed unit (ranging from 80,000 to 140,000 seeds/0.4 ha). That’s because 70% of treatment costs go to pesticides, while the profit-taking rate per acre is between $16 and $17. This assumes that soybeans cost $12 per bushel and that the cost of the pesticide seed treatment is between $7 and $7.50 per seed unit. Entomologists in the Midwest and South America have also observed that the average soybean yield spike of 2 bushels per acre from this combination. “Some years are higher, some years are lower,” says Sebe Brown, an entomologist at the University of Louisiana. Responses tended to be higher in cases where soybeans were planted early, two crops, or planted after a cover crop.” Gus Lorenz, a scientist at the University of Arkansas, adds: “Companies have provided growers with insurance to maintain good standing. At current seed prices, the cost of treating seeds with pesticides is a good investment.” A synthesis of studies in a 2019 report representing agronomists and entomologists from 14 universities found that the best recorded soybean yield was an increase of 3.3 bushels per acre. after using the combined seed treatment solution. However, in some cases in Minnesota, the benefits are so small that it is argued that farmers should not be encouraged to use seed treatments or should apply them selectively. Concerns Previously, scientists believed that neonicotinoid pesticides were the main cause of the decline in bee populations and pollinators worldwide. A few years ago, the United Nations published alarming figures: In the first 10 years of the 21st century, the number of bees in the world has decreased by 85% in the Middle East, about 30% in the US and Europe. Neonicotinoids are likened to “birth control pills” for bees and reduce the population of bees. Photo: GCM Bees are the intermediate species that help pollinate more than 75% of the world’s food and fruit crops, so a decrease in the number of bees also means a reduced crop or even a crop failure. However, long-term studies by Syngenta suggest that the health effects of bees are negligible when using Neonicotinoid seed treatments to kill insects. According to Mr. Potter, what many experts agree on is that the health of bees depends on the interaction of factors such as parasites, disease, nutritional health and weather phenomena. A 2019 study published in the journal Scientific Reports detailed the effects that imidacloprid had on white-tailed deer. When imidacloprid (an insecticide that acts as an insect CNS toxin, belonging to the genus Neonicotinoids) was increased in the animal’s spleen, factors such as progeny viability, length of jawbone, body weight and visceral weight all decreased. Records show that at least 60% of white-tailed deer killed indicate the presence of Imidacloprid. According to expert Jonathan Lundgren, all insecticides can negatively impact mammals and bees. “The use of insecticides is so widespread these days that they are present in almost every growing system across the United States and are truly binding. These insecticides are affecting ecosystems in ways that we could not have foreseen.” Meanwhile, the companies that manufacture and trade in Neonicotinoid seed treatments have always denied this and asserted that “the products are safe if used according to the instructions on the label”. Compounds such as polymers coat the seeds or products like Bayer Fluency Agent Advanced to help prevent release into the environment, said Chip Graham, Bayer Crop Science’s North American director of seed development. “Initially we had really low dust levels, but these products ensure that pesticides remain on the seeds and reduce contamination levels during the growing process,” said Mr. What is the future of farming? Instead of treating seeds with neonicotinoid insecticides, Mr. Lundgren called for regenerative methods, such as tilling and changing seasons, increasing crop diversity as well as reducing pest pressure. bugs, insects. “Farmers need to understand that these seed treatments really don’t help them much,” said Lundgren. Neonicotinoid pesticides are believed to reduce bee pollinators, threatening food security. Photo: TN Meanwhile, expert Graham said that banning this seed treatment would be detrimental to farmers because “there are currently no foliar sprays to treat early-season insects as a rescue application”, so ” Seed treatment in this way is most effective to provide activity against early-season pests of maize and soybean.” Agronomist Naeve said: “They’re a good example of how the best tools we’ve ever had in agriculture, but it’s not a good idea to treat the entire soybean acreage. They can be a double-edged sword.”

Characteristics of the tree group that produces fruit at the tip of the branch Lychee belongs to the group of year-round green leafy trees, multi-use trees, both for fruit, shade and landscape. The trees in this group often have the phenomenon of fruiting every year, which means the year of fruiting, the year of no fruit, the year of little fruit, the year of many fruits. Longan and litchi are all fruit-bearing trees, …. That is, the branch from the fall of the previous year is the mother branch bearing fruit next year. If the branch is healthy and the cake is dull next spring, flowers will bloom on the top of the branch. If winter has budded spring leaves do not flower. Therefore, in order for the tree to produce many flowers next spring, it is necessary to prepare many branches from the previous autumn, the branches are old and strong. That depends first of all on the post-harvest care. Longan and litchi trees grow fruit after a year, after harvesting, the branches and leaves fall off, which is the period when the tree is most physically exhausted. From the research results of agricultural experts, after harvesting, the roots are the part that loses the most force, followed by leaves and branches. In order to produce normal fruit next year, folk care experience along with cutting branches, pruning the canopy must be “compensated” or “compensated” in the post-harvest period. The selection of fertilizers and fertilization techniques are very important in order to restore the health of the tree, ensure the recovery, growth and development after 5-6 months of fruiting to continue to produce fruit next season. After harvest, longan and litchi trees need to be cared for and “compensated” so that the next crop can still be productive. Photo: TL. Van Dien fertilizer – The perfect choice for longan and lychee Among the current fertilizers, in addition to organic fertilizers, only Van Dien fused phosphate fertilizer and Van Dien NPK multi-element fertilizer products can meet the above demand for longan and litchi. Easily digestible nutrients in Van Dien fused phosphate fertilizers include: P2O5 15-19%, MgO 15-18%, SiO2 24-32%, CaO 28-34%, and many other micronutrients such as Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Bo, Mo…. Multi-factor fertilizer NPK Van Dien 5.10.3 has the content of nutrients such as: N=5%; P2O5=10%; K2O=3%; S=2%; MgO=9%; CaO=15%; SiO2=14%. In addition, there are trace elements such as B, Mn, Zn, Cu, Co… that other fertilizers do not have. Recently, the multi-factor fertilizer products NPK Van Dien 6:12:3 or multi-factor fertilizers NPK Van Dien 10:7:3 are very good fertilizers for fruit trees, especially in the post-harvest stage. . Using Van Dien fused phosphorus products and Van Dien NPK multi-factor fertilizers helps to provide a balanced, complete, multi-, medium-, and micro-nutrients for longan, litchi to restore roots and branches and leaves. Photo: Vandienfmp.vn. Instructions for fertilizing longan and litchi in the post-harvest period This year’s lychee fruit season is very good, so it is necessary to increase efforts to take care of litchi early, while the longan trees bear fruit unevenly, even many trees do not bear fruit, so the care of this year’s longan must be specific to each tree. Non-flowering longan and litchi trees: The longan and litchi trees this year do not flower if this year is not well taken care of, next year will certainly be poor in harvest. To prepare for the fruiting season in 2022, with the trees that do not bear fruit this year, around June and July, corresponding to the annual fruit collection time, still cutting, pruning and weeding as every year. At the same time, apply deep fertilizer with 3-4 kg of composted organic fertilizer and 3-5kg of Van Dien fused phosphate fertilizer, in order to provide phosphorus and secondary and micronutrients, part to prepare and accumulate nutrients. for the next crop, the nutritional compensation for the recent overgrowth of leaves is too strong. The litchi trees, longan trees are bearing fruit: Immediately after collecting the fruit, it is necessary to immediately start weeding for the trees: Prune toothpicks, pests, overhanging branches, branches under the canopy … at the same time, fertilize the trees, hoe around the canopy and then fertilize. The amount of fertilizer for each root is about 5-10kg of composted organic fertilizer, 5-7kg of Van Dien fused phosphate fertilizer and 3-5kg of Van Dien NPK multi-element fertilizer (5:10:3, 10:7:3. ..). Mix well with the soil, spread it in the canal and fill 2/3 of the trenches, grass cabinets, and garbage to keep the stumps warm. If the soil is too dry, it needs to be watered to keep the roots moist. Based on the time of harvest and the health of the tree, it is necessary to affect the summer or autumn buds. The early fruit trees in June, July, after weeding and fertilizing will give summer buds. Fertilizing for the autumn fortune: Locusts are formed on the leaf axils of summer buds (for early-harvesting plants) or grow from the leaf axils of fruit branches with late-autumn plants. This is the fruit branch of the next year’s longan and litchi crop, so it is necessary to pay special attention to adjusting fertilizer so that the harvest ends before November every year. Apply fertilizer to promote autumn buds in September and October after the summer buds have matured (into the leaves), apply 2-3kg of multi-element fertilizer NPK Van Dien 10:7:3 in combination with felling, pruning and removing branches. pass) in the canopy. Apply fertilizer to promote the collection of 2-3kg of multi-element fertilizer NPK Van Dien 10:7:3 in combination with felling and pruning. Photo: Vadfco. Note, only fertilize the autumn buds for trees under 15 years old, showing signs of lack of fertilizer, poor growth (showing yellow-green leaves) or late fruit trees in August, September. The growth pattern of the tree and the yield of the harvested fruit with more or less fertilizer application. If the weather is dry, it must be combined with watering to help the plants recover quickly and develop early autumn buds. When the buds are collected evenly, it is necessary to spray insecticides to ensure that the buds come out evenly and abundantly, the young buds grow well and are strong enough to make fruiting branches next year. Usually on an old fruit branch, there are many new shoots. When the young branches have enough leaves, it is advisable to trim away the weak, weak branches, leaving only the strong, fat huts to keep as the mother branch for the next crop. In the winter months, do not water, fertilize, create all conditions for the tree to “barren”, inhibit the formation and development of winter buds. By applying Van Dien fused phosphate fertilizer and Van Dien NPK multi-factor fertilizer right after fruit collection to create many vigorous autumn branches, combined with inhibiting winter buds, spring when the weather is warm and humid, longan trees , the fabric begins to spring up. Only apply fertilizer to catch flowers for longan and litchi when flower sprouts appear in the axillary leaves of the branches, the amount of application is about 3-5kg of multi-factor fertilizer NPK Van Dien 10:7:3 or 10:10:3, buried. Seal the manure, then water it to stimulate the buds and flowers. Fused phosphate fertilizers and specialized multi-factor NPK fertilizer products for Van Dien at the same time provide a full and balanced supply of essential nutrients for longan and litchi trees, helping them to grow strong and resistant to external conditions. Under unfavorable circumstances, especially during the winter break, litchi trees balance growth with development, creating bountiful fruit seasons.

Recently, Miss Do Thi Ha attracted the attention of the audience when appearing in the show “Eat and tell” with MC Dai Nghia. However, what makes netizens stir is the dress style of the beautiful Miss Vietnam 2020.

Participating in the show, Do Thi Ha wore a full set of tweed clothes with a bow tie shirt. The luxurious “fog” dressing of Miss Hau is said to be suitable for the context of the office, going out for the weekend. When participating in the show, the place she appeared was at Ben Thanh market. This was originally a people’s market, the fact that Do Thi Ha was dressed quite “hard” was commented by netizens as out of place, not suitable for the context. While MC Dai Nghia and singer Trinh Thang Binh wore the simplest clothes, the queen looked out of place because she dressed in the wrong place. Many fans believe that Miss and her crew should review the costumes before participating in the event or program. With the context of a popular market like this, she only needed to wear jeans and a T-shirt to simply score points in the eyes of fans. Before that, Miss Luong Thuy Linh attracted attention when she wore a see-through crop top and announced that she was going to buy vegetables. Ngoc Trinh and Dieu Nhi once shocked when making tik tok clips on gorgeous clothes like going to an event. However, in fact, the two girls just went to eat duck eggs. Miss Khanh Van also made a tik tok clip to dress luxuriously, wear a crown to go… dump the trash. Nha Phuong dressed up as “fog” to go to the market and was secretly photographed by fans. Thuy Ngan dressed simply wearing a mask to go to the market.
A girl named Iva living in Novo mesto, Slovenia, identifies herself as a simple person, with a clear life purpose and very honest. Iva used to live in an apartment, there was not much space to plant trees, but her love for nature was always strong. That love guided Iva on her education when the young girl decided to enroll in the Agricultural College in Ljubljana. After graduating from school, she decided to move back to the same suburb, stay on the ground floor and start cultivating, taking care of creating her first garden. Iva shared that she has never regretted her decision. The girl who loves gardening every day has reached the age to get married and have children, but with her love for nature, Iva has never stopped trying to plant and garden. Iva said: “I want to teach my two sons from gardening, helping them understand where food really comes from to appreciate, not waste. She takes advantage of the small space by planting fruit and vegetable trees in between. “I wanted to make a more versatile garden with as many varieties of plants as possible, but didn’t have the space to do that,” says Iva.

The young couple fell in love with each other because of the same hobby of gardening and then got married because they wanted to create green gardens to protect the environment and provide clean food for the family.
Ms. Lauren, after many years working in Australia’s big city, decided to return to the coastal town of Yeppoon, Queensland to get married with her lover Tyler and build a dream green garden together.

When they love each other, even though they live in two places, they always have fun conversations about what they want to do in the future. Especially both love nature, want to do something on the countryside land. The couple came together from a love of gardening. “I started to get inspired about gardening, growing plants, producing food after going to the farmers market in the city every week,” Lauren shared. She then learned about the benefits of growing her own plants, cooking broths from fresh produce, and baking. After marrying Tyler, the two together continued to study nutrition and transmit useful gardening information to many people. Returning to the town is not as vibrant as in the city, the couple feels like they are enjoying the life that is exactly what they both wanted for a long time. Tyler shared that the two chose to live on the east coast of Australia, with more than 4 hectares of land for farming. In addition to planting trees, the couple is also interested in improving the natural ecosystem, avoiding harm or killing beneficial insects. One of the natural ways to prevent plant pests is to keep ducks and chickens around the garden. In addition, they also raise a few sheep. The couple said: “We live in the tropics so high temperatures, strong winds, drought, some other natural disasters are challenges with gardening. But we believe that whatever you plant, If you put your heart and effort into nurturing them, they will pay off, so happy to see them grow day by day.” Lauren and Tyler not only grow crops to provide food for their families, but also store seeds to share with many people, inspiring those who love to create clean food for their families with their own hands and aim for a better life. sustainable living. “We’re not inheriting land from our ancestors, we’re borrowing land from future generations,” says Lauren. “This reminds us not to focus entirely on immediate needs, but instead take responsibility. responsibility, a sense of how current actions will affect the world our children live in. I hope everyone has positive thoughts and intentional actions to live a life of purpose and connection with together”. Hoang Dung ( translation summary)

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Pham Viet Anh works at the International Crop Center. Receiving the Ambassador and the delegation were Mr. Hans Kleijwegt, General Director; Mr. Mark Zwinkels, Director of the International Relations Department of WHC; Mr. Henk van Eijk, President of NVHBP and Ms. Mirjam Boekestijn, coordinator of NVHBP in the Netherlands. At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Viet Anh expressed his desire to continue to be supported by WHC for farming businesses in Vietnam and especially wanted to have a connection for agricultural students from Vietnamese universities. can participate in annual international student exchange programs at the Center, in order to acquire and update knowledge and modern technologies applied to the development of sustainable crop production in Vietnam. Horticulture-horticulture is one of nine industries in the Dutch economic development strategy. The Dutch horticulture industry develops according to the trend of globalization, supplying agricultural products to the world market. As a leading innovator in greenhouse technology, the Dutch horticulture sector plays a leading role in the international market for flowers, ornamental plants, vegetables, bulbs and renewable materials. The Netherlands is the world’s third largest exporter of nutritional crop products and the second largest exporter of agricultural products (after the United States). WHC is a vivid illustration of the integrated thinking, broad and long-term vision of the Netherlands in general and Dutch businesses in particular. The complex is an example of the connection according to the “golden triangle” formula between the Government – research institutions – enterprises. The Government creates conditions and mechanisms but does not provide financial support (according to regulations on fair competition). The research and manufacturing facilities related to farming send here applied research products, which are both learning and research tools and a production tool for commercial products. The center has 3 continuous zones including Education and Training, Research – Development, and Business Cooperation. This place is also a forum to share technology and innovation in the field of greenhouse cultivation. Every year, WHC welcomes about 25,000 international visitors and experts to visit, learn, share experiences, innovate in the horticulture industry and participate in fairs. WHC has a 4-year horticultural vocational school for about 1,200 students, not to mention international student exchange programs in this industry with courses of 3-4 months/year. This is also the place of convergence, display and regular exchange of 130 leading enterprises in the horticulture industry with modern products from automation machines, ventilation systems, water and humidity management systems. , temperature in the greenhouse to products such as plant protection films / nets, light blocking in greenhouses, plant seeds, biological fertilizers… In addition, the center also has a state-of-the-art research facility with 40 laboratories, where different researchers, entrepreneurs and educational institutions conduct research. Ambassador Pham Viet Anh visited some member enterprises of the Netherlands-Vietnam Commercial Horticulture Cooperation Association. The Netherlands-Vietnam Commercial Horticultural Cooperation Association (nvhortiplatform.com), established in December 2019, is a cooperation organization between Dutch and Vietnamese businesses, research institutes, government organizations and organizations. in the field of horticulture.
The application of scientific advances in agricultural production is an inevitable trend to reduce labor force and increase crop productivity in order to bring about high economic efficiency. In particular, the use of drones (drones) to spray plant protection drugs (BVTV) in Long Dien district initially showed effectiveness not only in production, but also contributing to protecting the health of farmers. . Farmers watched the demonstration of flying equipment spraying pesticides by the District Farmers Association in coordination with SNEWRICE JSC to perform the winter-spring crop 2020-2021 on the fields of An Nhut commune. 30% DISCOUNT OF Pesticides The device for spraying pesticides for plants is unfamiliar to many farmers in the province, but to farmers in Long Dien district, this device is quite familiar. In the Winter-Spring crop of 2020-2021, the District Farmers Association in collaboration with SNEWRICE Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City) held a demonstration of spraying pesticides by drone on more than 30 hectares of rice in An Nhut commune (the company supports 100 % injection). This form initially shows practical effectiveness and promises to be able to deploy on a large scale in the near future. This is also an activity in the project of implementing high technology application in agricultural cultivation, improving production efficiency for farmers. With drones, the droplets coming out of the nozzle are very small and smooth, helping the farmer reduce the actual amount of water needed while ensuring even surface spread and high efficiency. The spraying of pesticides on rice by drones also increases labor productivity by 15-30 times, shortens the spraying time per unit area; 30% reduction in pesticides compared to conventional spraying. Witnessing the spraying equipment in the field with his own eyes, Mr. Huynh Van Manh (An Lac hamlet, An Nhut commune) said that in the past, he sprayed pesticides with a bottle on his back. Although he is equipped with protective equipment such as raincoats, gloves, and boots, he cannot avoid inhaling the smell of medicine. In this Winter – Spring season, he registered with the Farmers’ Association to spray pesticides with drones on his family’s 4ha of rice. “With the manual spraying method, for each hectare of rice, I have to pay 400 thousand dong to hire labor. In the Winter – Spring crop 2020-2021, I spray with a drone, the cost is lower, only 350 thousand VND / ha, and the amount of medicine is reduced by nearly 30%. So I will use drones to spray drugs in the coming rice crops, ”said Manh. According to Huynh Trung Thanh, Director of An Nhut Agriculture – Service Cooperative, spraying with drones saves water and pesticides while reducing rice yield loss by 150-200 kg / ha compared to conventional spraying. rice is not stepped on like when sprayed with a can. “On the fields of An Nhut cooperative, farmers linked production and cultivated simultaneously on an area of more than 200 hectares, so the use of drones to spray pesticides is very effective,” said Thanh. for more info. Using drones to spray pesticides helps to save production costs, reduce the impact of pesticides on the environment and affect water and soil sources. ESTABLISHMENT OF HIGH-TECH AGRICULTURAL CO-operative Over the past years, farmers in Long Dien district have applied agricultural mechanization and brought higher efficiency in production; Contribute to agricultural restructuring, improve the quality of agricultural products and increase profits. However, the application of flying equipment in spraying, fertilizing … is still limited due to large investment costs. According to Mr. Huynh Van So, Vice Chairman of Farmers Association of Long Dien district, the spraying of pesticides with drones has shown many benefits to the fields in An Nhut commune. Therefore, on April 15, the District Farmers Association cooperated with the TT.Long Dien Farmers’ Association to set up Green Leaf High-tech Agricultural Cooperative. The cooperative has 7 members, specializing in providing services and applying science and technology in agricultural production. “Since the use of drones in agriculture in Long Dien district is relatively new, the District Farmers Union will coordinate with SNEWRICE JSC to disseminate this technique step by step. Step one, the company will make drone spraying service for farmers. Step two, proceed to training and implementation in cooperatives. Then, when the effectiveness has been verified over time, the Farmers’ Union levels will be massively deployed in the fields of An Nhut, An Ngai and Tam Phuoc communes, ”said Mr. So. The adoption of drones for agricultural production is an important transition in accelerating the mechanization of the agricultural sector. This step contributes to promoting competitive advantages, improving the efficiency and quality of agricultural products and increasing farmers’ income.

Currently, melon is in bloom, on average, each pole brings income to people in Nghi Huong about 15-20 million VND. Photo: Thanh Phuc On the 3-hectare field of Dien Bien (Nghi Huong ward, Cua Lo town), people are busy, rushing to harvest melons in time to bring them to the market. This is a traditional melon variety, sticking with the people of Nghi Huong for 30 years. Nghi Huong watermelon has an oblong shape, when ripe, the skin is cracked, the flesh of the melon is smooth and fragrant, very “popular” with consumers. This year, the weather is favorable, melons are in good season and good value. After being harvested, melons are bought by traders at the field for 12,000 VND / kg or according to the fruit from 10,000 – 30,000 VND / fruit (depending on size). Compared to every year, each fruit increases on average from 3,000 to 5,000 VND / fruit. On average, each pole of melon gives an income of 18-20 million VND, excluding expenses, and a net profit of 10 million VND, 7 times higher than that of rice cultivation. Melons are purchased by traders from the field with high prices. Photo: Thanh Phuc Ms. Hoang Thi Hong, a melon farmer in Dien Bien, said: “Melon is a local variety, plant it by itself, takes little care of it, does not have to control pests and diseases and has a short growth time, only 1, 5 months (melon) and 2.5 months (main season melon) for harvest. Each year, 2 melon crops are planted, the main crop is planted from February to early April for harvest; The fruit season starts from May to the end of June for harvest. Compared with rice and maize, melon has many times higher economic value ”. Dien Bien block has 200 households working in agriculture, about 120 households growing melon. For the past two years, the area of the Nghi Huong people of melon has been narrowed down due to the land acquisition for the construction of the coastal road. Previously, the entire ward had 10 hectares to grow melon, but now it is reduced to 4 hectares. From the economic efficiency of melon plant brings and wants to preserve and develop local melon varieties, in the near future, Nghi Huong ward is planning to develop melon growing area on rice land. Cantaloupe Nghi Huong, Nghi Thach is a local traditional melon, which is especially delicious and different from new varieties of melon in other provinces. Photo: Thanh Phuc In Nghi Thach commune (Nghi Loc), there are about 10 hectares of melon, mainly concentrated in the villages: Xuan Lac, Xuan Hoa, Xuan Tien, Xuan Thinh and Trung Khanh. According to melon growers, melon has the advantage of not having to buy seeds and materials such as nitrogen, phosphorus or plant protection drugs. This plant only likes manure. Low cost while high resale price, so growers are profitable. Mr. Nguyen Tho Khang, a farmer who grows melon in Xuan Thinh hamlet, said: “This year, the heat comes early, the melon is consumed strongly. After harvesting, someone buys them right at the field. Many households sell to customers across the road along National Highway 46 to Cua Lo; import for beverage bars and retail in Vinh city markets with higher prices. My family harvests 40-50kg of melons every day, earning about 1 million VND “. Melon is present at local markets in Vinh city, is a cool fruit on summer days that many people choose. Photo: Thanh Phuc Currently, melon is in full bloom, every day on Nghi Huong melon fields, traders from all over Nghi Thach pour in to buy. People also actively connect with beverage shops to find a stable outlet for melon. Therefore, when harvested, melons are sold out. Only about 1 week to end the main melon crop, continue to do soil, sowing for the melon crop. Melon is a delicious fruit – nutritious – cheap – cool, both refreshing, good heat, and cures many diseases such as: Cure acne and pigmentation, smooth skin, cure insomnia, cough anhydrous, constipation … When buying, choose a thin shell, heavy-handed. The delicious and safe melons on the skin still have a thin layer of undercoat, emitting a pleasant aroma. If the melon is chemically soaked, both the undercoat and the scent will be lost.

To make the most of the land in production, the model of agricultural production with solar power is being applied in a number of businesses and households. Many solar power plants take advantage of the area below solar panels to cultivate and breed.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, an independent energy expert, said: “Solar energy can be exploited without much impact on agricultural production and not necessarily land acquisition”. However, the reality shows that at present, this model is still facing many difficulties and has not achieved high efficiency.

In Ninh Thuan province, the Cyclic Energy Solution Company (CAS Company) is applying the model of goat farming and experimental planting of trees under panels at 3ha large solar farm. However, Mr. Tran Anh Dong, Director of CAS Company, said: “The company’s main revenue is from solar power, while the revenue from agricultural production is still low. Currently, the company is still struggling in finding high-yield crops suitable for the conditions to be planted under solar panels ”. According to Nguyen Quoc Khanh, the model of solar power combined with agriculture has great potential, both increasing the efficiency of land use and creating more income for farmers. However, at present, this model still has many limitations such as: Not meeting farm economic criteria, no support mechanism for solar power, lack of information on suitable crops, no technical guidance, lack of practical model … In order for this model to really promote its effectiveness, the State needs more mechanisms and policies to help businesses overcome the above problems.

In April, the blooming lilies season, these days, everywhere in Hanoi, it is easy to see bicycles full of lilies on the street.

In spite of Lily so many but the price early flower season Not cheap, buyers are still eager, ready to pay their bills because this flower season only lasts for more than a month.

Thanks to the high consumption, that person flower farmer do not fall into the situation of the season of devaluation.

Noted, at many routes of Hanoi such as Thuy Khue Street, Phan Dinh Phung, Lang Ha, Thanh Nien, Giang Vo, Tran Xuan Soan, Hoang Dao Thuy, Mai Xuan Thuong, Ba Trieu, Nguyen Cong Tru … Lilies has begun to go down the street to serve the needs of the people. Hardly anyone can resist the pristine beauty, the gentle scent of the trumpet.

Many passersby are willing to stop by the flowerbeds along the road to choose to buy some beautiful lilies at the beginning of the season.

Lilies, also known as lilies or juniper flowers, usually bloom in early April and until mid-May is the end of the season. When blooming petals turn white, giving off a gentle scent, so this flower is dubbed “Queen of April.” This is also the flower that signals summer.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, owner of a flower garden in Tay Tuu, Bac Tu Liem district, said in 2020, due to translation COVID-19 Loudspeaker is sold for 100,000-120,000 VND / bundle of 50 flowers but there are no customers to buy it, but this year it just started in the harvest season, so the price is quite high.

Currently, the wholesale price of short cotton lilies ranges from 200,000 to 250,000 VND / bundle of 100 flowers, for long cotton, the selling price is up to 300,000 VND / bundle of 100 flowers, retail buyers at 20,000-40,000 VND / dozen (depending on into cotton compartments or long cotton). Every day, a household cuts thousands of flowers. Flowers cut wherever they are brought to be consumed there, during the day they are all clean.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, owner of a flower shop in Ngo Thi Nham street, Hai Ba Trung district, said that in addition to selling lilies according to flowers, many people also sell flowers by branches, 50,000 VND / 10 branches, customers buy 20 branches at the price. 90,000 VND. To have a satisfactory lilies, flower players often buy 15-20 flowers or more, it costs VND 40,000-90,000 for our trumpets and VND 60,000-100,000 for western flowers.

Although the selling price is quite high, the purchasing power is still increasing strongly, Ms. Pham Thi Thu, a small trader at Quang Ba flower wholesale market, said that small traders can sell 500-700 cotton, the big one sells 3,000-4,000 cotton / day. The consumption was large, so on this occasion, many small businesses gathered their capital to trade in lilies, while other flowers stopped selling.

The price is high, the purchasing power increases, so the growers are happy to make a big profit. Mr. Dang Van Vinh, a lilies-growing household, shared that his family is currently renting 4 acres of land in Ha Mo (Dan Phuong) to plant lilies, on average, his family will bring about 100 bouquets of flowers a day. Quang Ba flower market has a trade of 150,000-170,000 VND / bunch, it is expected that this year’s flower harvest season after subtracting costs, is expected to profit 15-20 million / sao, calculating the total revenue is estimated at 100 million VND per season. Bell.

After the COVID-19 epidemic, flower prices are stable and the weather is favorable, this year’s lilies season may last longer than every year, making flower growers believe in a good harvest regardless of the main flower selling price. service will be mitigated./.

Debbie’s balcony garden

Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city, having the second largest Port of Hamburg in the European Union. The life here is quite exciting, bustling and extremely busy.

In the midst of that busy city life, the girl Debbie created a green space right on the family’s narrow balcony.

Debbie shared: “I am a cat lover and a lot of plants and plants. Until I get older with the years, I definitely still cultivate a love of these simple things in life and experimentation. on his balcony “.

The results were obtained from Debbie’s small garden

With a love for natural food and horticulture, choosing a horticultural job is understandable to Debbie.

“Imagine that you will enjoy the food that you grow yourself, moreover you can experience, learn to take care of plants to grow,” Debbie said.

In fact, Debbie came up with the idea of creating a balcony garden before she lived in an apartment with a balcony.

Luckily Debbie later selected an apartment with up to three balconies and when moved to live, everything was fine.

“I’ve decided to dedicate a whole balcony just to growing vegetables and herbs. After five years of balcony gardening, I eagerly await each harvest,” Debbie said.

A small space planted a variety of fruit trees in the busy city.

On the large balcony area, Debbie chose to grow tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, beetroots and luckily all of them were successful. Depending on the season, she grows some new vegetables or grows flowers, fruits and herbs to decorate the balcony.

Debbie also set up a tea table to enjoy a cool space, relax after a stressful working time.

Debbie understands that the balcony garden cannot use the natural regeneration processes as efficiently as a normal garden. So the girl used the same soil for the past 5 years and luckily everything worked fine.

To keep this going, Debbie has mixed soil from different planters to incorporate a variety of nutrients. In the spring, before planting new plants, Debbie mixes the soil with a nutrient-boosting fertilizer.

Most of Debbie seeds are purchased from the organic seed store. She also tries to collect more and more seeds from her own garden plants and use them the following season.

The biggest hurdle for Debbie is the preparation to take care of the garden every season. Each year Debbie experimented with a combination of small spaces and tree care and choosing the right soil type.

Debbie hopes she can inspire many other cultivators.

She said: “No matter how small your space is, you can get a great reward from growing. Even if there is only a small flower pot on the windowsill you can learn a lot about it. The nutrient needs of the plant, understanding how the weather influences the gardening for me, gardening requires perseverance and I appreciate it. change your view of things that you never thought before. ”
