German companies and Brexit “A big disappointment”

Status: 16.06.2021 5:08 p.m.

New customs controls, more bureaucracy, additional costs: Brexit is causing many German companies to consider whether they can still maintain locations in Great Britain. By Aylin Dülger, tagesschau.de Little of what Heller makes stays in England. The company from Nürtingen near Stuttgart operates worldwide. The mechanical engineering company exports components that are installed in machines for milling engine and metal parts at the UK site of Redditch in the county of Worcestershire. From there they reach end customers in many different industries. Both export and import are part of day-to-day business. Brexit will put this business to the test. “For a long time we clung to the illusion that in the end a solution based on partnership would emerge,” says Heller boss Klaus Winkler. Instead, the Brexit agreements created a very bureaucratic construct.

    05/31/2021

Consequences of Brexit Truck drivers avoid Great Britain The consequences of Brexit are becoming increasingly visible.

The truck takes eight days instead of three

Like many of the small and medium-sized companies that form the backbone of the export-oriented German economy, Heller is now struggling with additional customs controls and bureaucracy. “We have a completely different form war,” says Winkler. “A truck that we send from Nürtingen to England now takes between eight and ten days. We used to do it in three days.”

Klaus Winkler, Head of the Heller Group: “Long indulged in an illusion” The Chamber of Commerce and Industry also moved in April British Chamber of Commerce in Germany a first sobering Brexit balance sheet . Two thirds of the companies surveyed assessed the effects of the new foreign trade rules with Great Britain more negatively than expected at the beginning of the year. More than three quarters of all respondents reported difficulties in moving goods. And almost every fifth company has therefore decided to completely stop foreign trade with the island.

    05/12/2021

Because of Corona and Brexit British economy is shrinking The lockdown and final Brexit hit the UK economy hard at the start of the year.

Fear of withdrawal

For Heller, completely forgoing foreign trade with Great Britain is a horror scenario that the company is trying to avert. Business has been slowed down enormously, said Winkler. “We had to convey to our colleagues in Great Britain in a credible manner that we do not intend to question the location in Redditch, but rather to preserve it if it can somehow be done.” In order not to jeopardize its competitiveness, the special machine manufacturer will have to constantly reassess the situation in the near future. Because if the products become too expensive, customers threaten to turn to competitors – the location could no longer be held.

    04/28/2021

Brexit and the economy Many companies stop foreign trade The Brexit agreement aims to ensure that trade between the EU and Great Britain has a future.

Smaller companies more affected

Smaller companies in particular suffered from the additional administrative effort, according to Ulrich Hoppe, head of the German-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) in London. That makes it no longer economically viable for many to serve the British market. “The medium-sized and large companies that are active in the United Kingdom are of course also struggling with the additional effort, but they can cushion it much better,” explains Hoppe. Despite the additional costs, the British market will remain very important due to its strategic importance. In 2020, Germany exported goods worth 66.85 billion euros to Great Britain. That was around 5.5 percent of total exports. This made the United Kingdom the fifth most important export market for the Federal Republic of Germany. So that German companies do not leave the island in the future, Heller boss Winkler would like to make goods traffic easier . He is hoping for less bureaucracy on the part of the English authorities, so that the additional effort can be reduced to a more bearable level. For the time being, however, disillusionment dominates. Even if Heller wants to stick to its British location: “Overall, Brexit is a big disappointment for us.”

The reason why Tibet attracts a large number of foreign tourists is undoubtedly because of the unique charm of Tibet. There is a world-renowned sacred mountain and holy lake. There is also the unique local customs there. On the way to Tibet, we saw unforgettable beautiful scenery, but what made me more interested was the local customs. I think that is the true charm of Tibet. We drove to a small town called Payang Town and stayed here at night. Payang is a prairie town with a western flavor. The streets are full of clean dust. The town is loosely lined with neatly arranged houses. The Tibetan residents who go between the alleys are also very resident in their clothes. Now the Tibetan compatriots are very Chinese in their dress. In 2005, I saw Tibetan women in Payang town wearing very primitive Tibetan robes. There is also a large pasture outside the town. Cows and sheep swim among the green grasslands and snow-capped mountains, creating a picturesque pastoral scenery. They live in an environment surrounded by mountains and lakes. Seeing them wandering around the town freely, I feel that they are carefree. Payang Town is not very big. The square in the center of the town is an important meeting and exchange place for the whole town. There are often many Tibetans hanging out here, and children running around chasing and playing. Many unique pictures of people can be taken here. . A lot of people walked around here, as if they were celebrating a festival. There was a temple beside the square, and there was a prayer wheel beside the temple. The elderly Tibetan compatriots were walking with rosary beads in their hands and silently chanting Tibetan. After the war, his face showed a very pious look, turning around the prayer wheel round and round. They were wearing shabby Tibetan robes, their faces were dark and red, with sunburn on their faces, typical plateau red. I’m better at capturing the moments when they are soaring. Women’s heads are wrapped tightly with scarves, and they can’t take facial expressions at all. I guess they are tanning. The little girl in the town did not have a scarf on her face, her face was really dark, but she looked very cute! I distributed a pound of candy I bought to the local children, and one by one stretched out the little black hands to ask me for the candy. I was very proud and happy to watch them chewing the candy I bought in their little mouths. I took a lot of pictures of them. There are many tents set up in the town, and there are many dazzling products in them. It is said that they are Danba Tibetans from Sichuan, who specialize in business. The women are all dressed up very beautifully, especially their headwear is decorated with a lot of colorful accessories, and the braids are also very long, thick and very dark. We visited the families of the richest Tibetan compatriots in the area. Their family owned several shops, and the host seemed to be someone who had met the world. He was a soldier and spoke Mandarin very well. His home is very large, spacious and bright. The room is full of Tibetan furniture, which seems to be one of the richest families in the area. In the evening, the Tibetan driver King Ali invited us to eat raw beef. He went to the village and bought a catty and a half of red raw beef. He personally cooked and cut it into pieces. After peeling the garlic, he told us that it would be raw beef together. Eat, and tell us: This raw beef was not killed today, it was killed yesterday, so it is soulless beef. Hearing these words, I laughed to death. It turns out that Tibetan compatriots are still very particular about eating meat, and they can still have something to do with religion. Many people are afraid to eat the bloody beef. King Ali ate it on his own regardless of the three-seven-two-one. I thought to myself that since I came, I might as well give it a try. I ate three pieces of raw beef and felt that the original raw beef tastes very delicious. Tibetan driver Ali Wang Talking about the Tibetan driver Ali Wang King Ali (nickname) is a legendary figure. He is in his forties and looks very burly, with a typical image of a Tibetan man. I feel that his way of thinking has the way of thinking of Han people. Because he is extremely religious. In many ways, he strictly enforced it in accordance with the patriarchal concept. For example, he doesn’t drink alcohol and never gambling. When he ate the livestock, he could not eat the slaughtered that day, saying that there was a soul attached to the livestock, and he had to eat the next day. When he picked up a piece of chicken and put it to his mouth, he immediately asked the cook when it was killed. This behavior amused us. He once went on foot to Nepal and India to pass through and pay homage to the Buddha. He still has a lot of personal experiences that are very bumpy, so I can’t talk about it here. I feel that he shouldn’t be a driver at all, but that he should be an entrepreneur and a leader. Especially his eyes are amazing. As long as you ask him on many questions, he will answer you very carefully. My friends and I joked that King Ali was like a party secretary, and his speech was particularly straightforward. King Ali is not only a driver, but also owns three Japanese-style off-road vehicles, one of which he drives by himself and the other for rent. He is also a bargaining businessman who is cunning and humorous, intelligent and open-minded. However, in the following years, I saw a travel note written by a traveler on the Internet saying that King Ali had died of cancer. After seeing this news, King Ali’s voice and smile suddenly appeared in my mind, which made me feel good. It’s been too slow for a while. Payang Town is a small town with a special Tibetan style, where you can really feel how Tibetan compatriots live and entertain. I also took a lot of satisfactory photos, which added a lot of fun to my trip.

Hoai Sa’s ‘Love Story of the Mountain – Horizontal and Vertical’ by Hoai Sa is a vivid memoir about the nature, culture and people of Ha Giang.
Young author Hoai Sa is a travel blogger. With logic, detail and special affection for the land of Ha Giang, The love story of the mountain – Horizontal and vertical Hoang Su Phi is the result of many times he “horizontally” over the past 2 years.

The pen book consists of 17 articles that let readers discover and experience the cultural life and natural landscape of Hoang Su Phi – a district located in the west of Ha Giang province. The eyes of a travel blogger do not disappoint readers when writing about their “field”. Throughout the work, Hoai Sa is like an anonymous artist painting the scene of Hoang Su Phi – the “paradise of terraced fields” of the northern mountains. The terraced fields in the ripe rice season bloom with golden colors on the mountains and hills interspersed with ancient tea hills. The beautiful scenery here was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible heritage in 2012. Photo: Hoang Tuan. Many times when he set foot in Hoang Su Phi, Hoai Sa contacted, lived and worked with indigenous people of many ethnic groups Dao, Nung, Tay… This contributed to creating a chronicle for the work, but still There is no shortage of the youthful experience of a young man who studied in the West, returned to his country and devoted his love to his homeland. At the beginning of the book, the reader is immediately impressed with the image of Hoang Su Phi terraced fields, from the origin, the way to improve and harvest to the method of releasing carp into the field. Under the author’s pen, that expression of labor appears vividly and quickly conquers the reader. Hoai Sa fulfills the duty of a travel blogger in bringing readers to traditional customs such as the New Rice Festival of the Dao and Nung people; or the story of making Tet cakes from the rice grains on the terraced fields. The book is like a series of color documentaries with seemingly idyllic but eye-pleasing footage, revealing in the words a majestic picture of nature, worthy of the title “terraced paradise” “. Ha Giang land is known as the cradle of Shan Tuyet tea. Not to disappoint readers, Hoai Sa is surprised when he spends many pages of his diary writing about hundreds of years old tea trees “dwelling” on Nam Pien hill. For those who love to explore history, you can read the details of the author’s record of the fake ancient tombs of King Hoang Van Thung in the border areas, along with an unbelievable story when he died. Pen signed The love story of the mountain – Horizontal and vertical Hoang Su Phi. Photo: Wings Books. In the journal, the writing style of a travel blogger is most impressive. How to do tourism is mentioned many times. With her professional experience, Hoai Sa considers community tourism as a bright spot of Hoang Su Phi in the context of mass tourism that has not yet arrived here. The word “love” also appears in the title for no reason The love story of the mountain – Horizontal and vertical Hoang Su Phi . Reading the work, readers feel the heavy love that the writer has for this land. Wok Yen – the author of the inspirational story From Dao village to Erasmus scholarship – giving praise to Hoai Sa’s autobiography: “Every word makes me feel that the author has given this land a special love, he is not just a visitor to Hoang Su Phi, Nor is he merely a journalist who writes about Hoang Su Phi (although his concise and logical writing style comes from his experience in journalism), he is the one who diligently preserves each beauty of Hoang Su Phi in his words. , and with all my heart.” Above all, whether the writing is journalistic or travelling, The love story of the mountain – Horizontal and vertical Hoang Su Phi is a must-read work not only for the “photographer” and photographers, but also for the general audience to see and better understand the “terraced paradise”.

From married men, married women, government officials or prostitutes, all can participate in this strange custom for their own good luck.
As a Muslim-majority country, Indonesia has strict customs and beliefs about relationships outside of marriage. But also in this country, there is a land where there is a custom of having sex with strangers for good luck. It is at the top of Gunung Kemukus mountain, in Sragen district, Central Java province, Indonesia. Because of this strange custom, Mount Gunung Kemukus is also known as “Sex Mountain”.

In 2014, American journalist Patrick Abboud visited this mountain to learn and discover the incredible customs and life of the local people. His show has been broadcast on American SBS. Origin of custom This strange ritual dates back to the 16th century, when a young Indonesian prince named Pangeran Samudro, the son of a Javanese king, had an abusive love affair with his stepmother, Princess Nyai Ontrowulan. The two fall in love despite the ties that bind them, and then run away together to the mountain Gunung Kemukus. However, they were caught in the act of having sex and killed by the king. Their graves were built by locals and since then, many people have come here to offer flowers to pray for good luck. Gunung Kemukus mountain in Indonesia. Since then, the Pon festival on the top of Gunung Kemukus was opened. People believe that the above couple has not completed the “sexual affair”, so if you come here and have sex with a stranger, you will have luck and fortune, have a happier and richer life. According to journalist Patrick, this is a Javanese ritual and it is completely different from the Muslim world or anywhere in Indonesia. It is a mixture of beliefs between Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. 8,000 people go to the mountains to have sex with strangers During the Pon festival on Mount Gunung Kemukus, attendees will find a stranger to have sex with. Furthermore, for their wish to come true, they had to do this 7 times in 35 days. Witnessing this custom, journalist Patrick exclaimed: “Unbelievable”. But what surprised him more was the large scale of this festival, each night up to thousands of people, with a peak night of more than 8,000 people coming here to pray. It will take them several weeks to perform this ritual. Pilgrims go to the mountains to pray for good luck. From married men, married women, government officials or prostitutes, all can participate in the ritual for good luck. Most are Indonesians from all regions. In the morning, they will go to the temple to offer flowers and pray. In the evening, they would go looking for strangers to spend the night together. This ritual is so popular that Mount Gunung Kemukus has become a popular tourist destination in Indonesia, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. The government and local people have allowed toll fees at Gunung Kemukus mountain, and built many hotels, motels, service areas and bus routes to serve tourism. Unforeseen consequences In the Indonesian concept, going to Gunung Kemukus mountain to have sex with strangers is for good luck, has nothing to do with relationships outside of marriage. However, this also left many unpredictable consequences, Gunung Kemukus accidentally became the main territory of the sex workers. Journalist Patrick followed pilgrims up the mountain for good luck, then approached a woman named Mardiyah, a widow with difficult financial conditions. When she met Mr. Patrick, Ms. Mardiyah had just completed the ritual of having sex 7 times in 35 days. She said the ritual worked because her business got better, helping her make more money. Couples are comfortable “making love” in the hope of having a happier and richer life. Ms. Mardiyah said: “I met a man who also came here for pilgrimage named Gepeng and went with his friends. He didn’t want to reveal the story because he didn’t want his wife to find out but his life. It has also changed a lot.” According to journalist Patrick, the Pon festival inadvertently turned Gunung Kemukus mountain into a good place for prostitution. It can cause problems with sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV/AIDS, and has many marital and family consequences, such as adultery or children out of wedlock. “I think there’s a contradiction between this ritual and prostitution. That’s why it’s been condemned by the government and the leaders. A lot of people who have contracted sexually transmitted diseases should have it. many health clinics are built in the mountains.I spoke to a doctor and learned that most sex workers are sexually ill, men don’t use condoms often, so The risk is great,” journalist Patrick shared. In addition, this festival also entails many lucrative business activities such as karaoke bars, motels disguised as prostitution, causing bad effects, obscuring religious values. Even so, religious believers still believe in the effectiveness of the festival, while the local government turns a blind eye.

According to author James Cummings, the LGBT community in Hainan (China) suffers from many prejudices and is not taken seriously. They have to hide their sexual orientation in order to live a ‘normal life’.
“Ah Kang, come here! I’ll take you to the place where we play mahjong,” Ah Tao, a 29-year-old man living in Gia Dinh city (Hainan, China), called me in the middle of the square.

The “we” that Ah Tao is talking about are gay men on the island, like him. With the aim of understanding the life of the LGBT community in Hainan, I asked Ah Tao to be my guide. Unlike big cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou, the LGBT community in the island located on the southern coast of the mainland 30 km is not really well received, has to live a closed life and hide its bias. sexual orientation towards society. Unlike in Beijing or Shanghai, the LGBT community in Hainan province still faces many prejudices and is not accepted by society. Photo: The Beijinger. Hide your identity 11 years ago, I spent 12 months learning Chinese in Hainan and interacting with the local LGBT community. From that experience, for the past 8 years, I have started researching the lives of gay, bisexual and transgender people in this low-economic and culturally low-value locality. In the past few years, the government has made a lot of efforts to promote tourism in Hainan, but there has not been the same level of investment in other coastal areas. Ah Tao led me out of the square, through an empty market, and into a dark alley. “When you go there, don’t mention homosexuality or heterosexuality,” he warned carefully. Most have to hide their identities to be able to integrate into the community and continue to lead normal lives. Photo: New York Post. I suddenly recalled in 2009, the first time my friends took me to the only gay bar in Haikou – the capital of Hainan province. It was nestled behind an abandoned hotel, hidden by another row of working hotels. Later, I found out that that is the common point of spaces for the LGBT community – discreet, out of sight. To outsiders, these areas are completely invisible, hard to find. But for people like Ah Tao, this is the only place to take off your mask and be true to yourself. “Happy or sad, I always go to these bars to relax. The LGBT community here doesn’t have that much space,” said Xiaomai, a 19-year-old gay man. However, such bars only exist in major cities on the island. In smaller towns, they can only meet and chat at teahouses, convenience stores and parks. The risk of being discovered, stigmatized, affecting honor, family and work is also greater. Therefore, Ah Tao told me not to mention a word related to “gay”. Following Ah Tao’s footsteps into a convenience store at an intersection in a dark alley, I saw three electric mahjong tables surrounded by many people, men and women of all kinds. Seeing Ah Tao, they turned to ask about love and marriage. “It looks like it, but the men sitting here are all gay,” Ah Tao whispered to me. Accordingly, because they want to participate in community activities, many gay people in Hainan accept to hide their identities and pretend to be a different person. The worry of “no wife, no children” “How do you have a wife and children that are so few these days?”, a woman playing mahjong turned to ask Ah Tao. In fact, gay men here often receive such curious questions about marriage. Family pressure, children are always present, reminding Ah Tao that he is living “no wife, no children”. Many people in the community fear that they will be forced to marry and have children according to the expectations of family and society. “I am happy to make friends, get to know many people like me. But what about the future? How should I face my family, how do I explain the fact that I am still unmarried at 20-30 years old?”, Xiaomai’s heart. Some gay people living in Hainan choose to have children through surrogacy, which helps relieve the pressure of marriage and the anxiety of loneliness in old age. Photo: The Guardian. In China, the traditional concept of family still has a profound influence in society. For men, they need to be responsible for getting married and having children at all costs. In addition, due to fear of old age without a caregiver, many gay men accept marriage. “I got married partly because of my parents, partly because I was afraid that I wouldn’t have someone to look after me in my old age,” said 24 year old Liang Zongwei, a gay man living in Haikou. Some individuals like Ah Long (36 years old), a factory owner in northeastern Hainan, choose to have children through surrogacy. However, not everyone has the financial means to do this. In big cities, social organizations are trying to change stereotypes and raise social awareness about the LGBT community. But with provinces and cities that have not yet received economic and cultural investment like Hainan, the presence of homosexuals has not been properly recognized. From the experience of making friends with Ah Tao and being exposed to LGBT culture in Hainan, I reflect more on life, wondering if having to hide my true self is really “living”.

Komi children in traditional costumes. Photo: Komi Republic Historians estimate that the Komi have lived in the Komi Republic since the Middle Ages and were completely isolated from the world around them. During the Soviet era (1922-1991), villages of the Komi people deep in the remote forest were discovered. Along with the rapid modernization taking place in life, the Komi people have developed many programs and plans to preserve their culture. Currently, the Komi language is included in the school curriculum for the children of the Komi tribe to preserve and preserve the tribal heritage. Like the Nenets, the Komi are reindeer herders and loggers. Reindeer herding is organized by the Komi tribe into groups, each group has more than 50 people and reindeer herds about 115,000 heads. The reindeer grazing routes of the Komi people are quite long, up to 400km. Reindeer are raised for food, transportation, clothing and handicrafts (from reindeer antlers). About 20% of the reindeer in the Komi Republic are privately owned, with the rest belonging to agricultural councils. Reindeer herders have their own holiday called “Teryb kor.” “Teryb kor” in the Komi language means “quick reindeer.” The festival is usually held during the spring equinox, during which there will be a sleigh race between reindeer herders. Historically, the Komi have been matriarchal, but due to the influence of Christianity, the marriage system of the Komi is similar to that of the Russians. Komi values and beliefs are evident in their oral songs and folklore. Sacred animals are always honored in Komi culture, especially sharp-toothed fish and ducks. Therefore, the bones of these animals are often used to make amulets. The Komi are also known for their musical abilities. Folk songs often refer to all aspects of life from birth to death. Their oral stories often emphasize attachment to nature, ideals of hard work and hospitality and generosity. The Komi people possess many different traditional stringed instruments, the most famous being the balalaika with its hollow triangular body design and guitar-like strings. Embroidery is quite popular in the Komi community. Komi women often have a headband embroidered with colorful threads with different geometric patterns. A Komi girl will start embroidering a headband before getting married. The headbands of the brides are embroidered with decorative beads, while the headbands of the married women are embroidered with silver and gold threads. Komi men are well versed in woodcarving. All Komi household items are made of wood such as bowls, plates, cabinets and decorations. In addition to wood carving, the Komi are also highly skilled in jewelry making, machining, stamping, and metal engraving. Crafts such as knitting are also developed by the Komi with elaborate and beautiful products. Materials for knitting include pine roots, birch bark, straw… Currently, the tourism industry is also very developed and generates additional income for the Komi. Many unspoiled eco-tourism destinations always attract many visitors such as the Pechora mountain range with taiga forests, coniferous forests, mineral springs rivers and large caves.n

Eating slurry noodles in Japan or spending money on food in Bolivia … are strange traditions in many parts of the world.
There are more than 3,814 different cultures in the world, each with different traditional customs. While some areas, along with the development of modernization, many people have left behind the old ways and habits, some places still keep the old customs with many meanings to pray for health and a normal life. peace, bountiful crops.

Here are some strange traditions that are unusual in many parts of the world: Easter Campfire, Germany The night before Easter, people in some areas of Germany make a huge bonfire and burn it brightly. This custom has been around for a long time, marking the time when people welcome spring and drive away the evil spirits of winter. In some regions like Nordrhein-Westfalen, a state in western Germany, people burn a large wooden wheel and then roll downhill to pray for a good harvest. Eat noodle soup in Japan While in most countries it is generally considered disrespectful to make noise while eating, in Japan there is an exception. That’s when people eat noodles. If you don’t slurp noodles while you eat or make slurping noises, you may be seen as impolite. Put money on food in Bolivia In Bolivia, locals have a tradition of marking the end of the year and welcoming the new year by making coin pies.

The idea of Book Day and World Copyright originates from an interesting legend in Spain. These days, the boys and girls here often give each other books with a red rose.
For the people of Barcelona and Catalunã (Spain), April 23 has long been a true festival because it is a random combination of many anecdotes. However, in many other countries, little is known that World Copyright and Book Day has an interesting origin from this country.

Red roses, books and lovers are the three indispensable factors in the streets of April. Not just a religious festival, this is considered the most romantic time of the year. In particular, for the people of Catalonia, it is more valuable and meaningful than Valentine’s Day. Spaniards often refer to April 23 as Rose Day, Book Festival, or a version of Valentine’s Day; is an opportunity for book lovers to gather, buy and buy books and celebrate the best holiday of the year: the Feast of Saint Jordi. On April 23, lovers will give books and red roses to their other half. Photo: Getty. Legend of red rose and Saint Jordi The origin of this religious festival is a mixture of traditional customs of many periods. According to legend, in the old days in Catalunã appeared a dragon monster specializing in cannibalism. To alleviate its hunger, every day people had to pay tribute to him a virgin. One day, the death number called the name of the beautiful princess. Thinking death was imminent, suddenly a knight named Jorge (later named Saint Jordi) appeared with sparkling armor, riding a white horse, defeating the monster, promptly rescuing the attack. God. After his death, from the blood spilling out from the monster appeared bright red rose bushes, strangely beautiful. Jorge quickly picked up a flower and gave it to the princess. The legend of Saint Jordi became the design inspiration for Batlló house by architect Antoni Gaudí. The house is located in Barcelona, attracting many visitors during April. Photo: Casabatllo. Since then, the villagers are at peace, Jorge is considered the patron saint of Catalonia. This day is annually taken as Valentine’s Day in Catalonia for the same reason. Guys who are “in love” will give a rose to the girl they love. For them, a rose branch represents eternal and unique love. And the women will give a book to the man they love in return of their sincerity. That custom becomes a new and unique feature. With the flow of time, it gradually expanded to include not only lovers, but also family members, friends or colleagues. This anecdote has been passed down in some European countries such as England, Greece, and Portugal. There, the campaign for each customer to buy a book will be rewarded with a rose, which is also very enthusiastic. Random overlaps Since 1929, the city of Barcelona has held its annual global exhibition on October 7. Bookmakers took this opportunity to promote and sell books. But after many years, they decided to choose April 23 (this time in Spain is spring) as a reading festival on the street. The idea also stems from a very beautiful traditional custom in Catalonia: On April 23 every year (is the feast of St. Jordi), there are many book fairs and street festivals held, attracting crowds. Island people to visit. In addition to the cool climate, a Valencia native living in Barcelona found a coincidence between the death of St. Jordi and the two world great writers Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare. These two great pens are said to have died on April 23, 1616. In fact, the “father” of the work Don Quijote fights the windmill died 10 days earlier than Shakespeare, but since Spain at that time used the Gregarian calendar, while in England it was Julian, there was a coincidence. April 23 is also the birthday or death anniversary of other famous authors such as Maurice Druon, K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo. With that special coincidence, in 1995, UNESCO selected April 23 every year as World Book Day and Copyright, to honor books and those who have made great contributions to the cultural development of the people. species. April 23 becomes more special in Catalonia and Barcelona As an important holiday with interesting stories in Catalonia and Barcelona, the bookstores and flower shops here are open all day. The attraction of the event made the streets full of passersby. Red rose, the book of the same flag Senyera is covered in the color of love. The towns of Barcelona and Catalonia are full of people buying books and flowers. Photo: Vietcasa. In the midst of that bustling scene, it is not difficult to see writers and poets signing books directly to customers, readers love you. If on normal days, people here are afraid to go down the crowded streets, in this festival they cannot ignore the tradition of walking the streets and looking to buy books. Barcelona and Catalonia quickly became a huge library with street corners selling a wide variety of books and red roses. The crowded line of people, interspersed between bookstores and flower stalls is the most popular on Ramblas, Gracia, Sant Joan, Rambla de Catalunã or Sant Jaume squares. April 23 is really an opportunity to take a walk in the bustling atmosphere and filled with the scent of roses. In addition to giving flowers, lovers give books as a way to remember the traditions deeply ingrained in the culture of gaur people.

Luc Yen is a mountainous district located in the northeast of Yen Bai province, with 18 ethnic groups living together.

Family members perform the fire dance to pray for good luck and goodness. Each ethnic group has its own unique and distinctive customs and practices creating the richness and diversity of cultures of the ethnic groups in the area. The fire dancing custom of the Red Dao people at the beginning of the year is one of those characteristics … To reschedule up… The fire dancing custom of the Luc Yen Red Dao (Yen Bai) is usually only held on a small scale in the household. Households that practice fire dancing will be passed on from generation to generation. This activity is held every 3 years with the aim of banishing bad luck, praying for family members to have health, a good crop, good life, and a full life. To see firsthand the custom of fire dancing, we went to Khai Trung commune, Luc Yen district on the 4th day of the Tan Suu Lunar New Year. This is a locality where over 90% are the Red Dao people. Thuy Dieu slope winding along a misty mountain slope leads us to this upland commune. Passing the slope a large, flat green plain surrounded by limestone mountains appeared before your eyes. In that green plains is the life of nearly 1,500 Red Dao people. Mixed life of the people is the green color of the mountains, the white of the plum blossoms, the plum blossoms, the red color of cherry blossoms … All combined with the shimmering colors on the dresses of the Dao girls who are bustling in springtime create a poetic spring scene here. The fields, upland fields are also gradually “put on themselves” a lush green with spring sky and earth. “Over the past years, along with focusing on implementing economic development programs and improving the lives of people, the Party Committee and Khai Trung commune authorities have also paid special attention to propaganda and mobilization of people to preserve and upholding customs and practices with many traditional cultural values, prominent such as the restoration and maintenance of the seasonal festival, fire dancing customs of the Red Dao people ”- Mr. Hoang Van Cau, Chairman Khai Trung commune People’s Committee said. Rooster is an indispensable mascot in the fire dance ceremony. “Dance” in the coals for good luck Mr. Trieu Tai Quan’s family is one of the few families in the commune that still maintain the custom of jumping fire. This custom is like a “karma” that only in Mr. Quan’s family can carry out from generation to generation. Every three years, Mr. Quan’s family holds a fire jump on the occasion of the New Year. Before the fire dance festival, his family prepared a tray to worship and ask for permission from the ancestors, the gods about the organization of the fire jump. Mr. Phung Thua Hoc – The priest at the fire dance ceremony shared: To prepare for the fire dance ceremony, the host family must invite the priest and prepare the participants to dance about a week earlier, according to the previous regulations. The boys chosen to participate in the fire dance must keep their bodies clean, do not kill, and do not engage in boy and girl affairs for at least 3 days. However, today these regulations are no longer mandatory and strict, just before joining the fire jump the boys wash and wear clean clothes. When it was dusk, a large fire was prepared in the middle of the house, when the fire was almost gone, only bright red coals were the sound of gongs that started the ceremony. In the pounding sound of gongs, 2 priests began to pray for permission of ancestors and gods and read the names of those who participated in the fire. At this time, the participants of the fire dance sit on a bench next to the offering tray and wait to do the “spell” of mindfulness. Listening to the rush of gongs, participants enter the fire as if they are empowered, their bravery will vibrate, shout a sound and jump into the embers with bare feet. They even used their bare hands to throw hot coals into the air and began to “bathe” the fire. Participants will take turns jumping and charring until the fire is over. After participating in the festival, the firefighter’s costumes were only dust, dirty, not scorched, nor were their limbs burned. When the fire dance is over, the two shamans continue to do some rituals to finish. Mr. Phung Van Doanh, a fire-jumping participant, said: The first time joining the fire dance, looking at the red coal was also very apprehensive, only afraid of being burned, but when he was “allowed” by the priest, he was like receiving. More strength, somehow unable to sit still, just rushed into the fire. Having participated a lot, but I have never suffered burns even if I was small. The fire dance practice is practiced by many ethnic minorities, becoming a unique cultural ritual that has existed for a long time. In each community, there is a different way, scale and time to organize but all have the same origin from the worship of fire god, a symbol of life, prosperity, happiness and indispensable in life. human life. At the same time, it is an opportunity for people to give thanks to their ancestors and wish for a good crop and a full life.

With the desire to eradicate pests that cause harm to plants as soon as they are still in eggs, every year, Red Dao people in Yen Bai have a hard day – a day to kill insects.
The day of cinching (also known as the day of killing insects) of the Red Dao people of Yen Bai is usually on a day of February, March of the lunar calendar and must be the day of recession according to the Dao’s calendar. No one here remembers the old customs, but only knows that according to grandparents, ancestors in the past, people lived mainly on agricultural production, depending on nature. Therefore, there are years when pests cause harmful outbreaks, affecting heavily the yield of crops. Because of that, the people have set up hard days and have been maintained up to now, with the expectation that the plants will be green, rich, and free from pests.

The seeds are prepared. According to Ms. Trieu Thi Tiep in 2 Tuc village, Phuc Loi commune, Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province: By the day of good luck, people must prepare all kinds of seeds such as maize, rice, gourd, pumpkin, sesame, peanuts, beans, beans … and these seeds are put into the pan to cook so that the pests harmful to the plant will be eliminated. “Since ancient times, the Red Dao people have had a strict etiquette. Waking days often have to get up earlier than usual and prepare all the seeds that the family often sow in a pan to roast with the meaning of killing insects while still in the egg so that there is no muscle. The association broke out, causing damage to plants ”, – Ms. Trieu Thi Tiep said. After being roasted, the seeds can be eaten and spread to vegetable gardens and rice fields to see off pests. The hand spread the seeds while saying, “Today is a good day, the family has fully prepared the seeds and also done the eradication of pests. So I would like to send off the pests that are not harmful to the family plant ”. Get rid of pests by roasting the seeds. After completing this work, the new woman and her family have breakfast before going to farm work. The hard days are not the same as those of the Yen Bai Red Dao such as: abstaining from the god of thunder, the god of the wind or abstaining from tigers …, people are not allowed to do farm work, but only rest at home. , visit friends, neighbors, and especially do not make any loud noises. On the contrary, after completing the strict procedures, people still continue to do their daily jobs. “The grinds are not strict, like the great taboo days like the god of thunder, the god of the wind, or the day of abstaining from the tiger. On a good day, the family still goes to work normally, but before going to work, it is necessary to eliminate pests, that is, to roast all the seeds that the family has planted. This practice is still practiced by family and neighbors every year, ”added Thieu Thi Sinh, Lung Ha Hamlet, Phuc Loi Commune, Luc Yen District, Yen Bai Province. Nowadays, science and technology have been more developed, Yen Bai Red Dao people also know how to apply technical advances in preventing harmful pests and diseases, increasing crop productivity and quality. However, the strict tradition is still promoted by the Dao people here, such as reminding their children and grandchildren about a way to protect plants against the harm of their fellow pests from ancient times./.

The castles are scattered, elegant and retro lampposts are quietly standing beside the road, pairs of seats are placed under the street lamps, and there are exquisite and lovely little angel sculptures on both sides…Walking on the road, you can still see The little girl in a princess dress is spinning in circles, innocent, playful and cute. On the opposite side is the main building of the square. It is a large matryoshka with a height of 30 meters and a building area of 3,200 square meters. It is the largest in the world. baby. The interior is a Russian restaurant and a performing arts hall, and the exterior is superbly crafted, exquisite and lifelike paintings, divided into three sides to depict the beautiful girl images of the Han, Mongolia, and Russian. The three girls smiled slightly, each with their own charms. Maybe because they are both Chinese. In order to fight fiercely with this type of crime, it is necessary to have the synchronous and timely coordination of many agencies and departments, but the focus is still on Information Management, Customs, and Public Security … According to Nhan, for many years, the economic police force has actively coordinated with the City intelligence management force and discovered and handled many smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit production in the area. . Only in 2020 and the first quarter of 2021, the police force of the Economic and National Administration has detected and handled 154 violations with 167 objects, the value of infringing goods is more than 145 billion VND. However, Mr. Nhan assessed that the results of the recent coordination in handling economic crimes between the Economic Police and the City intelligence management force are remarkable, but not high, not meeting the needs of business. industry and society. Because, due to the lack of regulations, the decentralization, decentralization, judgment organization, and sharing of information about contraband and counterfeit goods are still lacking fluently. After having the regulation, Mr. Nhan said, the city police department will thoroughly grasp and deploy the content of the regulations to each unit, assign and assign responsibility to each force to coordinate with Thanh city in order to increase strength, professionalism and efficiency in the fight against and repel economic crimes in the area. With the strong development of science and technology, the cyber commodity trading, the theft of intellectual property rights, the technology of organizations and enterprises will be increasingly popular. . This fact also arose many complicated consequences because the subjects took advantage of the production and trading of poor quality goods in large quantity, affecting the interests of enterprises and consumers. At the conference, the parties agreed to disseminate the regulations to all officers in the unit and thoroughly implement the implementation, ensuring seriousness, timeliness and efficiency in the coming time.
