The biggest change on the Vive Pro 2 is a new screen with a resolution of 5K (2448 × 2448 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a viewing angle of 120 degrees. This is a big upgrade compared to the original Vive Pro launched in 2018 with only 2880 x 1600 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and 110-degree viewing angle. Vive Pro 2 also supports Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology, the first to be equipped on a virtual reality headset. DSC is a lossless standard that keeps image data transmitted to virtual reality glasses intact, often found on high-end monitors. HTC says the Vive Pro 2 brings “minimum motion blur”, a screen door effect, showing grid lines on many older VR headsets, which have been almost completely eliminated on the Vive Pro 2. Besides the screen, the Vive Pro 2 has handy features like an adjustable strap, a dial that adjusts to size quickly. The built-in headset is Hi-Res Audio Certified with 3D spatial sound and works with third-party headsets. The new Vive Pro 2 will also work with all Vive SteamVR accessories, including the new Vive tracker, the new Vive Facial Tracker, any SteamVR controller, and more. The look is sleeker and more sophisticated, along with a slightly more compact size than its predecessor. HTC Vive Pro 2 is currently priced at 799 USD. If you upgrade from Vive Pro version, there will be a promotional price of 749 USD. The full version with included accessories, including a controller and Base Station 2.0 motion tracker, is priced at $1,399. According to Theverge
