Environmental protection is increasingly becoming an economic factor, especially in manufacturing. According to the Federal Statistical Office, sales are increasing and hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created in Germany. Environmental and climate protection are increasingly proving to be a lucrative business for industry and service providers. As the Federal Statistical Office announced, the industry achieved sales of 73.6 billion euros in 2019, 3.1 percent more than in the previous year.

Three quarters of this was achieved in the manufacturing sector, first and foremost in mechanical engineering (22.1 billion euros), followed by electrical equipment (6.5 billion euros) and the manufacture of cars, trucks and buses – and parts for them (5.8 billion euros) Euro).

The construction and maintenance of apparatus for air pollution control has grown particularly strongly. Here sales climbed by more than a third to 10.5 billion euros. These were mainly products for exhaust gas and exhaust air treatment, such as catalytic converters. In the area of electromobility (limited to cars, trucks and buses), sales of 2.5 billion euros were reported in 2019, 24 percent more than a year earlier.

The growing importance of environmental protection for the German economy is also leading to the creation of new jobs, so-called “green jobs”. The number of employees who contributed goods or services to the industry was 305,000 in 2019. Compared to the previous year, the number rose by almost 16,000. More than two thirds of the employees in the sector were employed in manufacturing companies

With a wafer-thin majority of just one vote it became so Long-term Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voted out of the Likud. A historic moment for an underrated minority. Arab Israelis now make up around 21 percent of Israel’s citizens – and their number is growing. Officially, they have the same rights and duties as Jewish Israelis. But many feel disadvantaged, for example when it comes to job placement or training.

Feeling of second class citizens

The villages and residential areas of the Arab Israelis also usually have poorer infrastructure. They suffer from a high level of crime, which the police have so far failed to combat. Many Israeli Arabs therefore see themselves as second-class citizens. In its Inaugural address to the Knesset , the Israeli parliament, said the new Prime Minister Bennet of the right-wing Yamina party that his new government was opening a new chapter in relations with fellow Arabs. He wanted to eliminate imbalances in education and alleviate the housing shortage of the Bedouins in the south. Everyone has the right to live in dignity. During the eleven days of rocket bombardment from the Gaza Strip, the conflict broke out even more clearly than usual. Many cities and villages with a mixed population of Arab and Jewish Israelis such as Lod, Akko and Jaffo experienced the worst unrest in decades. The deep crack became visible even where both groups had previously lived largely peacefully together.

Deep distrust with historical roots

Almost all Arab Israelis lived in what is now Israel’s territory before the establishment of Israel in 1948. In the Arab-Israeli war of 1948, they did not flee and were not expelled. Many see themselves as sisters and brothers of the Palestinians in the West Bank or Gaza Strip.

After the recent unrest, many Jewish Israelis avoided the Arab residential areas, including some areas of Jaffo, the district in the south of Tel Aviv. The pubs and restaurants in Jaffo had reported up to 70 percent fewer Jewish guests than before the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. During the unrest, the government imposed curfews and cordoned off entire streets, but otherwise did little to counter the deep-seated mutual distrust.

Arab Israelis as an important economic factor

Private initiatives are different. The Israeli insurance company Harel, for example, posted large posters on Tel Aviv’s city motorway in Hebrew and Arabic: “The best insurance against violence is coexistence.” Many other companies followed suit with commercials and newspaper advertisements. Because the Arab Israelis are an important economic factor.

It was not until the later 1970s that a visible number of Arab Israelis began studying at an Israeli university, primarily in engineering, pharmacy and teaching. In the early 1990s, agriculture and the textile industry went downhill in Israel. Many Arab Israelis were active there.

At the same time, Russian immigrants came into the country. More than a million new homes had to be built, and so the Arab Israelis got access to a new economic sector: housing, road construction, electricity and gas management.

Locked out of the software industry

Around the year 2000 there was a small high-tech miracle in Israel: Many Israeli software companies were able to establish themselves worldwide. But this industry remained closed to the Arab Israelis because, among other things, it had to do with security issues. Many Arab computer scientists were not permanently employed.

Since then, the Arab Israelis have almost only chosen professions in which they could certainly find a job, for example in medicine or pharmacy. Many saw a solid education as the only way to improve economically. The Arab villages in Israel are now competing with each other to see who has more doctors per 1,000 inhabitants. Pharmacy and medicine are often dominated by the well-trained doctors and pharmacists from the Arab minority. In recent years, the Arab Israelis have rediscovered the high-tech industry. This is suffering from underemployment in Israel, and many start-ups are desperately looking for well-trained employees – a new opportunity for the Arab Israelis.

In the medium term, the new Israeli government will have to ask itself uncomfortable questions, says Benjamin Hammer.

Unequal distribution of the workforce

If you look at the total number of employees, then the Jewish Israelis come to a good 83 percent. Conversely, this would mean that the Arab Israelis, together with the large number of Asian guest workers, make up less than 17 percent of the workforce in the country.

If you take a look at the figures from the Israeli statistics agency exactly where and how Arab Israelis are employed today, the distribution looks like this: 13 percent are unskilled, 42 percent are skilled workers in industry and construction. Two percent work in agriculture, 15 percent in the service sector, three percent in administration, five percent are engineers, eleven percent are academics and five percent run a company. The labor force participation of Jewish Israelis aged 15 and over was 65.0 percent in 2019, while that of Arab Israelis aged 15 and older was only 43.4 percent, mainly due to the significantly lower labor force participation of women.

Reconciliation as the primary goal

The reconciliation of the two population groups – also for economic reasons – is likely to become one of the most important tasks of the new government of Prime Minister Bennett and his Vice Yair Lapid of the liberal Center Party.

Only when the inner-Israeli conflict has calmed down, according to Middle East observers, the new government can look to the West Bank and Gaza again and tackle the peace process with the Palestinians, which has come to a complete standstill

The zoo is a happy place to remind people. It is the favorite of children and the memories of adults who have grown up with children. In everyone’s memory of childhood, there is about a picture standing in front of the zoo. Suzhou Safari Park is not far from Suzhou Botanical Garden, and is also located to the south of Suzhou Avenue. Unlike ordinary zoos, the animals here are basically wild, and most of them are huge and rare to see every day. A zoo without giant pandas is not a qualified zoo. You don’t need to go to Sichuan specially. In Suzhou, you can see giant pandas by driving for more than an hour. As long as you have enough patience, you can not only see them walking slowly, but you can also see them flexibly climbing trees and chewing. Eat bamboo. There is no doubt that this is a flexible fat man, don’t underestimate them, these two giant pandas have returned from Japan. As a safari park, one basic requirement is big. Covering an area of 1,300 acres, it has raised more than 200 species of rare wild animals from all over the world. It is the wild zoo with the largest area and the largest number of animals in Huaihai Economic Zone. In the elephant area, tourists and elephants are only separated by a railing distance, so close that they are within reach. Watching it stretch out its nose to eat carrots, you will surely get the children’s exclamation. The environment of the zoo is excellent, surrounded by lush green trees and flowers. In this environment, the animals also live very leisurely. The zebra has black and white stripes, shiny and shiny, and it must have been well groomed by the staff in the park. The hometown of giraffes is in the African savannah, and it is very pleasant to see them here. Their long necks are covered with various shades of yellow-brown and white interwoven mesh patterns, and they walk slowly and gracefully on the grass. Their docile and beautiful appearance is very attractive. Most herbivores are docile and more interactive with tourists. As a kid who feeds an animal madman, I have a lot to gain here. Not only can I feed regular animals, but I can also get close to large animals like elephants, giraffes and antelopes. I am excited to think about it. Whether it is an animal that can be called or cannot be called, there are detailed signs in the zoo. Those boring text introductions are connected with the vivid animals in front of them. It is really a biology lesson for the children in happiness. Passing through the beast area, because it is relatively open, the animals are wandering in the area like walking on the street, so tourists have to sit in cage cars instead. The two black bears are fighting intently, and they seem to be able to feel their heavy breathing at such a close distance. Under the sun, people and animals share the sun; the docile camel and the children get to know each other friendly; across the railing, the herbivores share the food in the hands of the children, not to mention the vibrant atmosphere of spring and people’s cheerful laughter. When I come to the zoo, I always have a good mood. The cute alpaca is one of the most popular animals in the zoo. More and more cities have their own safari parks. In Suzhou Safari Park, people don’t have to go to closed and airless venues. They are more in the sun and on the grass, watching elephants walking and orangutans climbing. Panda sleeps… In this zoo full of natural breath, there are many interesting stories happening every day. (You are welcome to like and leave a message in the comment area.
Supply crisis in Lebanon Queuing for a little gasoline

Status: 14.06.2021 8:41 a.m.

There is currently a shortage of fuel, electricity and medicines in Lebanon. Because the country is in a serious economic and financial crisis. Many Lebanese fear that the situation will get worse. By Anne Allmeling, ARD-Studio Cairo, currently Beirut Layali has almost reached her goal. Six or seven cars are waiting in line at the gas station in front of her. Then it’s her turn. “I don’t know how much I get, but I take as much as they give me.” Layali, who doesn’t want to give her last name, has been waiting for two hours to fill her tank with at least a few liters of gasoline. The 31-year-old works as a lecturer at a university in the center of Beirut. She needs the car on the way to work. “This is the second day I’ve tried to get gasoline. I drove all over town yesterday to find an open gas station. Then I waited four hours. When there were only four or five cars left in front of me were in the queue, it was said that there was no more gasoline. ”

Country has been in crisis for almost two years

Anyone who wants to refuel in Lebanon needs a lot of patience. Because fuel is in short supply. The country lacks the foreign exchange for imports. Lebanon has been in a serious financial and economic crisis for almost two years. The corona pandemic and the explosion in the port of Beirut a good ten months ago made the situation even worse. After its resignation, the government is only in a managerial position, but hardly able to act. In addition, there is a risk of state bankruptcy. Gasoline prices have more than tripled – but many Lebanese have no choice. “There is no public transport, no railroad. There is only private transport,” says Jihad Shehab. The 52-year-old salesman has been waiting for gasoline for his old Mercedes for an hour and a half. Because the line is moving very slowly, he got out of the car and is talking to a friend. “The situation is getting worse and worse. Nothing is progressing, neither in the government nor in the state, nothing,” he complains. Everything got out of hand. There is a dispute right in front of the gas station. A taxi driver complains: He only got twenty liters – not a full tank like the customer before him. His car has a special license plate that only a few Lebanese can afford – if they have the right connections.

   FAQ 08/06/2020

Questions and answers What is known about the explosions? The cause of the explosions in Beirut is still unclear – the extent of the destruction is immense.

Hardly any protests against the political elite

Nepotism and corruption are widespread in Lebanon. One reason why influential politicians and business people have been able to enrich themselves on a large scale in recent decades – at the expense of the state, which is now almost bankrupt. These people should be driven out of their offices, says a young woman who does not want to give her name: “Those responsible in Lebanon do not take any responsibility. The only solution would be for the people to put pressure on the state.” But if there is no uprising, the situation will not improve. Protests against the political elite are sporadic in Lebanon, however. More than half of the population is now considered poor. Most people are busy every day to ensure their survival and that of their families – like Layali. She is now number three in line – but even today she does not get any gasoline. The gas station closes before it is her turn. “Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. This has happened to me for the fifth time. I have to keep trying.”

Economic recovery Is Germany’s upswing lagging behind?

Status: 11.06.2021 6:09 p.m.

The corona numbers are falling, economic life is normalizing and the economy is picking up again. Germany seems to be lagging behind its neighbors. Is it really like that? From Lothar Gries, tagesschau.de The British economy grew by 27.6 percent in April compared to the same month last year – a record as the National Statistics Office (ONS) announced. The strong growth figures reflect the economic recovery in the wake of the gradual opening of the economy, which crashed in spring 2020 after the start of the pandemic and the following protective measures. Projected over the year, the British central bank now expects an increase in gross domestic product (GDP) of 7.25 percent. That would be the highest growth rate since 1941. Other European countries such as France are also assuming a strong economic recovery of 5.5 to 5.7 percent for the current year. The Spanish government even expects an increase of 6.5 percent. In fact, in the opinion of most economists, the prospects for economic growth in the euro area have brightened significantly in view of the falling number of corona infections and the global economic recovery. According to the latest information, the European Central Bank (ECB) is therefore assuming an increase in GDP in the euro area of 4.6 percent this year.

    06/11/2021

Economic growth Bundesbank expects strong upturn The economists at the Bundesbank have significantly raised their economic forecast for the current year.

Germany far behind in terms of growth

After a strong upward trend, things should go up in the USA, which is still the largest economy in the world. There, the Federal Reserve (Fed) is expecting an increase in economic output of 6.5 percent with a view to the advanced vaccination campaign and the prospect of an economic stimulus package. In China, Germany’s most important trading partner, the economy is likely to grow by as much as 8.5 percent this year. And Germany? Lies far behind in one of the farthest places. The Bundesbank currently expects GDP growth of 3.7 percent for 2021. Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier is even more optimistic. “Thanks to extensive government aid of almost 300 billion euros, the German economy survived the worst of the coronavirus crisis. This year, growth of three and a half to four percent would be possible,” said the minister.

    05/12/2021

More than four percent growth EU Commission increased Economic forecast The European economy will apparently recover more from the consequences of the Corona in 2021 than expected.

So is the recovery of the domestic economy lagging behind that of its most important trading partners? The economists of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) give a differentiated answer. It is true that the economy in countries that quickly vaccinate their population against Covid-19 and that contain the infection rate through effective measures is recovering faster than elsewhere.

Already in the summer pre-crisis level

In South Korea and the United States, for example, per capita income is likely to have reached pre-pandemic levels by the end of this month. In large parts of Europe, however, this will only be the case after three years, in Mexico and South Africa it may take five years or more, the OECD fears. Seen in this way, Germany is in a much better position than when looking at the bare growth figures. The Bundesbank estimates that economic output could reach pre-crisis levels again this summer. The economists of the OECD expect that this will not be the case until the end of the year.

Trillions for the economy Is the US economy threatened with overheating? Inflation is even higher in the United States than in Germany.

Nevertheless, the recovery in Germany would still be faster than in Italy, France or Spain. In these countries, GDP per capita is unlikely to be above the level of the end of 2019 until the middle of next year, according to the forecast of the OECD. It looks particularly bleak for Spain, whose economy will not be above pre-crisis levels again until the summer of 2023. The experts predict that Great Britain will not return to pre-crisis levels until the middle of next year.

Fatal dependence on tourism

This shows the great dependence of these states on the service sector and especially on tourism. In Spain, for example, this industry slumped by 48.4 percent last year, in Italy by 35.1 percent, in Greece even by 55.4 percent, while in Germany it fell by almost 15 percent. Accordingly, GDP fell less sharply in Germany last year than in most of the neighboring countries. This is also due to the comparatively higher share of industry in the overall economy and its unchanged strong exports to China. “How strong the economic recovery will be in each country depends on the level of government support for businesses and vulnerable workers, the degree of dependence on certain industries such as tourism, and health and vaccination policies,” said a May report Study by the OECD. Despite the global economic recovery, global income is likely to be around three trillion dollars lower than before the pandemic by the end of 2022, the OECD estimates. This roughly corresponds to the performance of the French economy.

Nationwide electricity generation Coal is overtaking wind power again

Status: 06/11/2021 1:53 p.m.

A spring without storms has led to a decline in wind energy. Coal grew to become the most important energy source in the country in the first quarter. At the same time, the demand for electricity is increasing, says Minister of Economic Affairs Altmaier. Electricity production using coal in Germany overtook wind power again in the first quarter of 2021. According to the Federal Statistical Office, a “windless spring” resulted in almost a third less electricity from wind power. According to the authorities, the gap has been filled by increasing electricity generation from coal and natural gas power plants. From January to March inclusive, a total of 138.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity was generated and fed into the grid. According to preliminary results from the Federal Office, that was 2.6 percent less than in the first quarter of 2020.

Coal, gas and nuclear power dominate

While the electricity in the same period last year came mainly from renewable energy sources such as wind power, biogas and sun (51.4 percent), coal, gas and nuclear energy dominated at the beginning of this year (59.3 percent). With a share of 28.9 percent of the total amount of electricity fed into the grid, coal was the most important energy source for electricity generation in Germany in the first quarter of this year. The amount of electricity generated in coal-fired power plants increased by more than a quarter (26.8 percent) to almost 40 billion kilowatt hours compared to the same period in the previous year. The amount of electricity from natural gas increased by 24 percent to 22.5 billion kilowatt hours. In contrast, there was a strong minus of almost a third (32.4 percent) in wind power: The feed-in of 33.5 billion kilowatt hours was the lowest value for this energy source for a first quarter since 2018. In the two previous years, there was wind power significantly higher values achieved due to strong spring storms.

Altmaier sees increased demand for electricity

Meanwhile, Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier admitted that his department had so far underestimated how much the demand for electricity in Germany is likely to increase in the course of the energy transition. “Due to the more stringent climate targets in Germany and the EU, we have to assume a significantly higher electricity demand than was previously assumed,” said the CDU politician to Wirtschaftswoche. “My house will submit new calculations for this.” Altmaier said that more energy must be produced, “from all available renewable sources: wind power and photovoltaics”. Altmaier said that he would present specific proposals on how offshore wind power on the high seas and other renewable energies could be expanded more than previously planned. For “green hydrogen” for use in the steel industry or the expansion of electromobility, many experts believe that significantly more electricity will be required in the coming years, which should come from renewable energies.

SPD puts pressure on

The SPD criticized Altmaier: “For months now, the SPD and the entire German industry and energy sector have been calling on the Federal Minister of Economics in vain to anchor realistic electricity requirements and a correspondingly ambitious expansion of wind power and photovoltaics in the EEG,” said parliamentary group vice-president Matthias Miersch of the dpa news agency. If Altmaier now announces new proposals, which can only then be implemented by the next federal government, it is “poor” and unworthy of a federal minister of economics, according to Miersch. The SPD had already submitted proposals months ago which, based on realistic electricity consumption, determine the associated expansion paths for green electricity up to 2030 and contain funds for acquiring space and accelerating it. “We could implement this next week,” said the politician.

Criticism of China’s economic project Headwind on the “New Silk Road”

Status: 06/11/2021 12:58 p.m.

China is expanding its influence worldwide, and the “New Silk Road” is intended to further strengthen the country. But the criticism of the project is growing. At the G7 meeting, the Australian head of government wants to report on his experiences. From Steffen Wurzel, ARD studio Shanghai Ding Laisong from the customs authority of the Chinese port city of Ningbo was satisfied at the beginning of the week: Trade with the states of the so-called “New Silk Road” had increased by 30 percent, he said on the Chinese state television broadcaster CCTV. In the case of trade with the particularly committed Silk Road countries in Central and East Asia, the plus is even 50 percent.

Sri Lanka regrets cooperation

China’s state and party leadership continues to sell its controversial strategy and trade project “New Silk Road” within the People’s Republic as a great success. In numerous partner countries, however, the initial enthusiasm for the project has given way to sober insight. China’s state and party leadership has nothing to give away with the Silk Road. On the contrary: in many cases, the Silk Road partner countries have borrowed considerably – with Chinese state banks. This sometimes creates considerable dependencies. One example is the Hambantota port project in Sri Lanka. According to media reports, the expensive Silk Road port project has hardly brought the island state anything economically. Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena now openly speaks of a mistake in leasing the port on the southern tip of the country to China for 99 years.

One billion euros in debt for Montenegro

In Europe, too, it is now becoming clear what the Silk Road critics have been calling a debt trap for years: the Balkan state of Montenegro, for example, had borrowed around one billion euros in China for the construction of a nearly 180-kilometer-long motorway. The autobahn is far from finished. But now the repayment is due – and the EU accession candidate lacks the money. The mood has also changed in large industrialized countries: In Italy, Prime Minister Mario Draghi put the Silk Road cooperation with China on hold, and the government in Canberra has also completed two projects in Australia. Only smaller, more symbolic projects were affected, but China’s communist leadership reacted angrily. She described Australia’s decision as “unreasonable and provocative”.

Australia accuses China of “extortionate behavior”

It is becoming clear that the communist leadership sees itself increasingly on the defensive in the Silk Road project, officially known as “Yi Dai Yi Lu”. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison complained at an economic conference in Perth “blackmailing behavior” by states like China. “Where compulsive acts have no consequences, there is little incentive to restrain,” said Morrison. Australia’s prime minister called for the sanctioning mechanisms of the World Trade Organization to be strengthened. Because if blackmailing behavior has no consequences, there is no reason for the corresponding states to hold back.

The G7 summit in Cornwall The heads of state and government of the seven leading industrialized countries (G7) will meet from June 11th to 13th in Cornwall, southwest England. For the first time in two years, they will meet again in person in the afternoon. In addition to climate change, the conference will also focus on trade issues and investments as well as the fight against the corona pandemic. In addition, the meeting will focus on the positioning towards Russia and China.
The G7 group includes the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, France, Italy and Japan. Like-minded democratic states such as South Korea, South Africa, Australia and India are invited to the summit as guests. After the government in Canberra demanded a complete clarification of the origin of the Covid 19 pandemic around a year ago, Australia was de facto covered with an economic war by China’s leadership. The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison wants to share this experience with the G7 countries. He will be a guest at the summit in England.

Competition with china US Senate passed Billion program

Status: 09.06.2021 09:01 a.m.

With a $ 250 billion program, the US wants to make up economic ground against China. The aim is semiconductor production and the research area Artificial Intelligence. The US Senate has passed a huge investment program in research and technology. Across all parties, the senators voted in favor of the package of measures designed to strengthen the US economy in competition with China. One of the goals is to advance the production of semiconductors in the USA and research in the field of artificial intelligence. Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said after the vote: “If we don’t do anything, our days as the dominant superpower could be numbered.” US President Joe Biden was satisfied with the Senate decision: “We are competing for victory in the 21st century and the starting shot has been fired.” The US would have to maintain its position as “the most innovative and productive nation in the world”, according to Biden.

Production capacities decreased

According to the White House, the proportion of semiconductor production capacity in the US has fallen from 37 percent to around 12 percent of global production over the past 20 years. US companies are dependent on foreign countries, in particular on countries in Asia, which is a risk in the supply chain. Currently, many automakers and electronics manufacturers are struggling with not enough chips on the market. Among other things, the surge in demand for notebooks and other computer technology during the pandemic led to the shortage of semiconductors.

Discover the technologies of tomorrow

President Biden said the bill will enable the US to discover, manufacture and improve tomorrow’s key technologies – from artificial intelligence to computer chips to lithium batteries used in smart devices and electric vehicles – in the United States United States. The House of Representatives must also give its approval for the Investment Act to come into force. According to the US media, it could meet with resistance there.

Economic aid will be extended The Bridging aid III gets a “plus”

As of: 06/09/2021 1:56 p.m.

Many companies that have been closed for a long time due to Corona can reopen. But because the situation is still difficult in some industries, several aids will be extended until the end of September – including the short-time working rules. The simplified access rules for short-time work due to the corona pandemic will be extended by a further three months beyond the end of June. The economic crisis caused by the pandemic is “not over yet” and it is therefore important to continue protecting jobs, said Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil. The cabinet has therefore decided to extend the rules, as there are companies “that need short-time work beyond June 30”. The SPD politician referred, among other things, to the event industry. In the justification for the proposal for the cabinet, it is said that, in the view of the federal government, there are still “uncertainties” despite falling corona numbers and vaccination progress. It is about “stabilizing employment relationships and thereby avoiding unemployment and possibly bankruptcies as far as possible”. Above all, financially heavily burdened companies in the retail trade, in the entertainment, travel and tourism industries and in the hotel and restaurant industry, need easier access to short-time working beyond June 30, 2021.

Additional costs for BA of 2.6 billion euros

In addition to easier access to short-time working allowance, the full reimbursement of social security contributions for companies is to be extended. The federal government is making around 2.6 billion euros available for both instruments. Salvation announced the move in May and speaking of planning security for companies. Since the beginning of the year, the BA has already spent over 13 billion euros on short-time work. It is about “continuing to consistently secure employment” and building a “bridge to the time of economic recovery,” said Heil. Short-time working has already saved millions of jobs during the crisis and will continue to do so “where necessary”. The CSU in the Bundestag also pointed out that companies would be brought over the summer in this way. Criticism came from the Greens, who spoke of a “missed opportunity”. The extension “should have been combined with the introduction of a minimum short-time work allowance” in order to provide security and prevent going to the job center, explained the labor market expert Wolfgang Strengmann-Kuhn.

Bridging Aid III will also be extended

Further economic aid will also be paid longer. As the Ministry of Finance and Economics announced, Bridging Aid III for companies and self-employed people will be continued until September 30, 2021 – under the new name “Bridging Aid III Plus”. Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU) said the “economic engine” was running. Nevertheless, the exit from the pandemic is gradual. That is why the extension of the aid, which was previously limited to the end of June, is an important signal. Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) emphasized that Germany had weathered the pandemic better than many others economically because the government had resolutely provided aid. “And this support is not stopped shortly before the goal, that would be economic nonsense.” The bridging aid is the government’s central crisis instrument to cushion the consequences of the pandemic on jobs and companies. With the extension, the upper limit for the subsidies will also be increased – especially larger companies from the fashion and hotel industries, for example, had complained that they had not yet received the aid. At the same time, companies that take employees out of short-time working earlier or hire new employees should receive a “restart bonus”.

Debate about retirement at 68 Altmaier cashes in on plans from his advisors

As of: June 8th, 2021 3:33 p.m.

Work until 68 – this proposal from the Advisory Board of the Ministry of Economic Affairs creates massive headwinds. After the rejection of the coalition partners CSU and SPD, Altmaier now expressed himself: The retirement age is currently not an issue. Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier has rejected an increase in the retirement age to 68 years, as recommended by an advisory committee of his house. The retirement age was set at 67 in the first grand coalition “at the suggestion of esteemed colleague” Franz Müntefering (SPD). “It should stay that way, that’s been my opinion for years,” wrote Altmaier on Twitter.

“Suddenly increasing financing problems”

The Scientific Advisory Board of the Ministry of Economics is independent, wrote Altmaier. His proposals are not binding on either the ministry or the minister. The Scientific Advisory Board of the Ministry of Economic Affairs – an advisory body – had proposed a reform towards the retirement age at 68. Because there was a threat of “sudden increasing financing problems in the statutory pension insurance from 2025”. The retirement age cannot be decoupled from the development of life expectancy in the long term.

CSU and SPD against raising the retirement age

The CSU also rejected ideas about raising the retirement age to 68 years. “We reject a later retirement age,” said CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt. In order to make pensions more secure, an “effective reform of private provision is required,” he said. This must be “more successful and efficient,” said Dobrindt. The SPD had previously rejected an increase in the retirement age. He thinks this is the wrong way, said the federal labor minister responsible for pensions, Hubertus Heil, according to a statement from his ministry. The statutory pension is a central promise of the welfare state. It is about recognition of lifetime achievement and security in old age. “Everyone must be able to rely on that.”

“Unsocial, what is proposed there”

SPD parliamentary group leader Rolf Mützenich said that a new regulation for a possible entry age of 68 does not go with the SPD. “Pensioners and the generation that will retire in the next few years must not be further unsettled.” That will also play a role in the federal election campaign. SPD Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz said: “I stand for the fact that we are not discussing any further increase in the statutory retirement age.” Scholz spoke of a “horror scenario” which should serve to “implement pension cuts for which there is no reason at this time”. According to Scholz, not only are the calculations wrong in the report. “What is being proposed there is also anti-social,” said the minister.

Advisory board proposes retirement at 68

The representatives of the Union and the SPD reacted to an opinion from the Scientific Advisory Board at the CDU-led Federal Ministry of Economics. The Scientific Advisory Board of the Ministry of Economic Affairs – an advisory body – had presented a concept that provides for longer work in old age and a limitation on future pension increases. The proposal mentioned a retirement age of 68 years in 2042. Currently, the rule applies that the age for entry into retirement without deductions should increase to 67 years by 2030. The advisory board warned that the pension system would head for a “financing shock” without further increases.

Employer President: “Lead honestly” pension discussion

Employer representatives were open to the experts’ suggestion. Employer President Rainer Dulger said with a view to demographic development that one should not get into a situation in which there are more service recipients than service providers. “The discussion must be conducted and it must be conducted honestly,” said Dulger. The topic cannot be concluded with stubborn rejection. People who would like to work longer should also be included in the discussion.

DGB and left indignant

The SPD gets a tailwind from its criticism from the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and the Left Party. The advisory body wants to “drastically cut pensions, dismantle the welfare state and privatize old-age pensions – all of this to massively relieve employers,” said DGB board member Anja Piel of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”. She accused the body of announcing the imminent ruin of the state on the basis of a fictitious legal status in order to then justify radical reforms. This is not scientifically based advice, but political propaganda. “From this oblique perspective, those affected are to blame if the pension is not enough: they could have made more private provisions,” said Piel. Left party leader Susanne Hennig-Wellsow spoke of an “asocial Oberhammer.” The left will “defend the rights of pensioners with tooth and nail”. What would be necessary would be a clear pension guarantee that bindingly excludes pension cuts as a result of the corona pandemic, said Hennig-Wellsow.

At the beginning of the 21st century, China didn’t have any high-speed railways, just slow and often annoying trains on long journeys. However, today the country with the largest population in the world has the largest high-speed rail network in the world. High-speed rail networks are crisscrossed, of which half of the project was completed after just five years of construction.

Illustration. Source: CNN With a maximum speed of 350km/h, China’s high-speed railway will meet the needs of many intercity travel routes, creating favorable travel conditions for passengers. As of 2020, 75% of Chinese cities already have high-speed rail. Symbol of economic power quyền China’s ambition is to turn high-speed rail into a model for long-distance travel in the country. However, the birth of the country’s current massive rail network takes on much greater significance. Like Japan’s Shinkansen in the 1960s, China’s high-speed rail network is being viewed as a symbol of economic power, rapid modernization, growing technological prowess, and prosperity. prosperity of the country. Currently, high-speed rail is a powerful instrument of social cohesion, political influence and regional integration between cultures. “The construction of new railway lines is part of President Xi Jinping’s grand plan to promote integration into the vast national market,” said Dr. SOAS) of the University of London said. This move shows that China is repeating the history of promoting high-speed rail networks, before many early railway lines in North America and Europe have done so. The development of railway networks in Russia, France, Great Britain and several other countries has been strongly influenced by political and military needs. “China has created a high-speed rail network on an unprecedented scale in history, which is forecast to be faster and certainly more reliable than China’s domestic flights. New stations and incredible travel routes are the highlight of this program. All tickets must be booked in advance and passengers only need to scan their ID card or passport at the ticket gates,” the travel expert said. railroad Mark Smith emphasized. China initially thought of choosing high-speed technology imported from Europe and Japan to establish a high-speed rail network. “Global railway engineering giants” such as Bombardier, Alstom and Mitsubishi are all keen to promote the cooperation program because of the potential size of the new market and the ambitious plan that China is targeting through the project. this. However, over the past decade, China’s domestic companies have developed into world leaders in high-speed train technology and engineering. Therefore, the mobilization of the available potential is considered a certain success of China in this field. The enormous scale and dramatic changes in topography, geology and climate posed many challenges during the implementation of this project. From Harbin to the Lanzhou-Urumqi route across the Gobi desert, Chinese engineers had to spend a lot of effort to be able to design suitable weather terrain to meet quality standards for the road route. iron across. High-tech simulation efficiency Chinese companies are among the world leaders in introducing new technology such as autonomous (unmanned) train operations and advanced navigation technology. Passengers board the high-speed train.
A Volkswagen car factory. (Image: Reuters) German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier April 24 said the country’s government is aiming to raise the forecast economic growth this year as industries are fighting well with the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an interview, Mr. Altmaier said that in January, Germany gave its forecast of economic growth of 3%, but current data shows that the figure will be even higher. Last year, Europe’s largest economy declined 4.9% due to restrictive policies aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 translation . The set German Economy It is expected to publish an updated forecast on the economic growth outlook next week. According to Altmaier, Germany has reasons to be optimistic, as the statistics are better than expected amid industries benefiting from the global recovery. However, Altmaier admits that the COVID-19 anti-epidemic restriction policy – which is being tightened in Germany from the end of this week in an attempt to curb the third wave of infections – has particularly seriously affected sectors. sectors such as retail, culinary and hospitality. Still, Altmaier expects Germany’s economy to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2022. Last week, the leading German consulting organizations also warned that the current wave of pandemic will slow the recovery momentum, but it is still expected that Germany’s economy will grow 3.7% this year./.

An image of polluted air was taken on February 13, following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, in Beijing, China. Photo: Reuters. On April 20, the International Energy Agency said that global CO2 emissions from electricity use will increase by nearly 5% this year. This suggests that an economic recovery from Covid-19 could bring many benefits, except for climate sustainability. The IEA’s 2021 Global Energy Assessment predicts that carbon dioxide emissions will rise to 33 billion tons this year, 1.5 billion tons higher than in 2020, the highest increase in more than a decade. IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said this year’s increase in emissions this year could be increased by the recovery of coal use in the power sector, which is forecast to be particularly strong in Asia. It will also put pressure on governments to take action on climate change. US President Joe Biden will hold an online summit involving dozens of world leaders this week to discuss climate change ahead of global negotiations in Scotland at the end. this year. Last year, as electricity usage fell due to the Covid-19 pandemic, energy-related CO2 emissions fell 5.8% to 31.5 billion tons, after reaching a peak in 2019 of 33, 4 billion tons. The IEA’s annual review analyzed the latest country data from around the world, economic growth trends and new energy projects. Global energy demand is expected to grow 4.6 percent by 2021, led by developing economies, pushing it above 2019 levels, the report says. Demand for fossil fuels is on the rise in 2021, with both coal and gas rising above 2019 levels. IEA said more than 80% of its forecast for coal demand growth by 2021 will come from Asia, led by China. Coal use in the US and the European Union is also on the rise but will remain below pre-crisis levels.

(Original title: Suddenly! Biden launched heavy sanctions, authorizing attacks on any area of the Russian economy! Iraq is attacked again, the Middle East is raging, and the oil is still going to rise?)

Are you really worried that the upcoming climate summit will be yellow?

According to CNN, US President Biden will organize a global climate summit from April 22 to 23. The United States also deliberately mentioned inviting Russia and China to participate. Recently, some media reported that Biden proposed the possibility of face-to-face talks between the United States and Russia. However, at this critical juncture, the United States suddenly launched sanctions and pressure, just as it did with the negotiations with China.

On the evening of April 15, Beijing time, according to the White House website, Biden will ban Bank of America from participating in the primary market of Russian sovereign debt denominated in rubles from June 14. Restricting Russia’s sovereign debt is a direct response to Russia’s intervention in the 2020 U.S. election. At the same time, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned 32 entities and individuals who implemented the instructions of the Russian government in an attempt to influence the 2020 U.S. presidential election and other acts of spreading rumors and interference.

On the other hand, the Middle East, which is also an oil-producing region, has also been extremely uneven recently. The Houthi armed forces and Saudi Arabia seem to have a sense of immortality. A spokesman for the organization said on the 15th that the use of drones and 11 missiles in Jizan attacked Saudi Aramco’s oil facilities. The missile and drone attack caused a fire at a Saudi Aramco facility. Accidents continued in Iraq. On the evening of April 14, local time, another explosion occurred at the international airport in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish Autonomous Region in northern Iraq, and the US consulate near the area sounded an alarm. On the 15th, Baghdad was attacked by a bomb again, causing more than a dozen casualties.

Oil prices fly again?

“Hot Hand” Biden

The United States suddenly increased sanctions against Russia.

According to news from the White House website on Thursday night, President Biden signed a new executive order of sanctions to show that the government is determined to deal with and contain all harmful activities in Russia. This executive order sends a signal that if Russia continues or escalates its destabilizing international operations, the United States will impose costs on Russia in a way that has strategic and economic influence. This especially includes undermining efforts to hold free and fair democratic elections and democratic institutions in the United States and its allies and partner countries; participating in and targeting malicious cyber activities against the United States and its allies and partners; facilitating and using transnational corruption to influence foreign governments; engaging in targeting Extraterritorial activities of dissidents or journalists; undermining the security of countries and regions that are vital to the national security of the United States; violation of recognized principles of international law, including states that respect territorial integrity.

In these actions, President Joe Biden authorized the U.S. government to impose sanctions on any sector of the Russian economy and to restrict Russia’s ability to issue sovereign debt in order to punish Moscow for interfering in the 2020 U.S. election.

Biden will ban Bank of America from participating in the primary market of Russian sovereign debt denominated in rubles from June 14. Restricting Russia’s sovereign debt is a direct response to Russia’s intervention in the 2020 U.S. election. Biden will issue an executive order authorizing the US government to crack down on any area of the Russian economy. Withdrawing US buyers from the primary market for ruble-denominated Russian sovereign debt may increase Russia’s borrowing costs. The US move may also cause capital to flee Russia, leading to a devaluation of the Russian currency. The new executive order authorizes the United States to increase restrictions on Russian sovereign debt when necessary.

The United States announced sanctions on six Russian companies that have supported cyber attacks on U.S. federal agencies and companies. The United States will expel 10 Russian intelligence officials. Since 2019, Bank of America has been banned from entering the main market for non-ruble sovereign bonds. The U.S. Treasury Department also blacklisted 32 entities and individuals to punish Russia for influencing the 2020 U.S. presidential election and other “disinformation and interference behaviors.” At the same time, the United States has also cooperated with the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, and the Treasury Department has sanctioned eight people related to Russia’s continued occupation and suppression of Crimea.

On April 14, local time, according to RIA Novosti news, US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan was invited to meet with Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov. Ushakov stated that if the United States imposes a new round of sanctions on Russia when President Biden intends to improve relations with Russia, Russia will respond in the strongest way. On the 15th, after the White House issued a sanctions order, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that Russia’s response to US sanctions is inevitable. The sanctions imposed by the United States are contrary to the interests of our two countries.

On April 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin was invited to have a telephone conversation with US President Biden. During the call, Biden expressed interest in normalizing bilateral affairs and was willing to establish a stable and predictable interaction mechanism with Russia. At the same time, Biden proposed to consider the possibility of holding a meeting between the two heads of state in the near future. However, the sudden picking of the matter by the United States may make the prospects of the US-Russian talks dim.

War continues in the Middle East

Russia, the United States, and the Middle East are always inseparable from this triangular relationship, even if the United States is withdrawing troops from Afghanistan recently. The most unstable corner of this triangle is the Middle East. Recently, wars in the Middle East have continued, and the two most prominent places are: Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The former provoked a Houthi who could not get rid of it. According to Reuters, the Yemeni Houthi militants said on the 15th that they used drones and missiles to attack multiple targets in the southern Saudi city of Jizan. Among them, a facility of Saudi Aramco, the national oil company of Saudi Arabia, caught fire. At the same time, the organization also launched an attack on the Saudi “Patriot” anti-missile system. The Saudi Press Agency reported that Saudi Arabia intercepted 4 drones and 5 missiles that attacked Jizan.

Since this year, the Houthis have never stopped their attacks on Saudi Arabia, and the source is still the original Yemeni government. On January 22, 2015, after the Houthi armed forces occupied the presidential palace, official residences and important military facilities, President Abdul Rab Mansour Hadi and his cabinet resigned. It was announced on February 6 that the “Presidential Committee” and “National Transitional Committee” were established to replace the Yemeni president and parliament to govern the country. The United Nations said it would not recognize it. On November 5, 2017, Saudi Arabia issued a reward for the arrest of 40 leaders of the Houthi armed group in Yemen, with a total bonus of up to 440 million U.S. dollars. It has always been believed that Iran is behind the Houthi, and Saudi Arabia is behind the original government of Yemen. This is also the main reason why Houthi has always attacked Saudi Arabia.

In addition to the Houthis’s constant attacks on Saudi Arabia, Iraq is also very uneasy. After Biden came to power, Iraq has never stopped, and news of bomb attacks have been reported continuously. On the evening of April 14, local time, an explosion occurred at the international airport in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish Autonomous Region in northern Iraq, and the US consulate near the area sounded an alarm. The Kurdish Autonomous Government’s counter-terrorism department stated that the explosion was caused by at least one rocket attack. There are US troops stationed in the military zone of Erbil Airport, and there is no specific information on casualties and property damage.

On April 15, Iraqi police and medical sources said that 4 people were killed and 17 others were injured in a car bomb attack in the Sada city area of Baghdad on Thursday. Police said the car was parked in a busy second-hand equipment market in a predominantly Shia Muslim area. The Iraqi military statement stated that the explosion targeted the eastern market in Baghdad, killing a civilian, wounding 12 people, and opening fire and destroying several cars.

Oil prices still fly?

On the evening of April 14th, international oil prices soared suddenly, and Bulk Oil finally closed up by more than 4%. As the political situation of oil-producing countries changes, does it mean that oil prices are still flying?

Goldman Sachs (Goldman Sachs) analysts said in a report that supply constraints and economic recovery will provide oil with an opportunity to break through the near-term range. Goldman Sachs analysts said: “Due to the recent rebound in demand and supply laws, we are optimistic about the forecast of Brent oil prices in the third quarter of 2021 at 80 US dollars per barrel.”

As the economy promotes decarbonization and the penetration rate of electric vehicles continues to increase, Goldman Sachs has also advanced the estimated peak of global oil transportation demand to 2026 by one year. Even so, he did not predict the peak oil demand in the next ten years due to the growth of petrochemicals and aviation fuel markets, although it is expected that the overall oil demand after 2025 will be “mainly due to electrification to reach a downturn.”

In fact, apart from economic factors, political factors are also very important. It can be expected that as the situation in the Middle East continues to be tense, Russia’s development space will continue to be squeezed, and there will be great variables in the supply of oil. Moreover, from the current technology point of view, although electric vehicles are popular, they also need electricity, and whether it is lithium batteries or fuel cells, it is largely converted from petrochemical energy. From this perspective, in the short term, the price of crude oil may have a tendency to rise easily but not fall.

Huangshan City is located in the junction of the three provinces of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi. It was called Huizhou in ancient times. Since ancient times, it has been said that “the mountains are not remote, the land is small and there are many merchants.” The birthplace of Huizhou culture, one of the regional cultures. As a world-class characteristic and charming city, Huangshan City has many rare and beautiful scenery and historical sites. Tang Xianzu of the Ming Dynasty once sighed here: “Huizhou has no dream for a lifetime.”

As the saying goes, “The beauty of the world sees China, and the beauty of China sees southern Anhui.” The beautiful lakes and mountains have been the most beautiful scenery in the eyes of tourists since ancient times. Anhui is a well-known tourist province, and two of its leading tourist “two mountains and one lake” are located in Huangshan City. Known as “the world’s most wonderful mountain”, Huangshan is known for its “Five Wonders” of strange pine, strange rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow, as well as the “three waterfalls” of herringbone waterfall, Baizhang spring and Jiulong waterfall. The poet Li Bai once wrote for him such masterpieces as “Peach blossoms and flowing water, no world is inhuman” and other masterpieces, while traveler Xu Xiake left behind the most logical saying of “The return of the Five Sacred Mountains does not look at the mountains, and the return of Huangshan does not look at the mountains”. In 1990, Huangshan Mountain was included in the “World Heritage List”, becoming China’s first world cultural and natural heritage.

Taiping Lake, located in the northwest of Huangshan City, is not as famous as Chaohu Lake, one of the five major freshwater lakes, but as an important part of the “Two Mountains and One Lake” tourism development strategy, it is the first national wetland park in Anhui Province. China’s hotspot lake tourist attraction. Taiping Lake is a large artificial reservoir on the upper reaches of the Qingyi River. It has excellent ecology, beautiful scenery, and rich products. The lake is lined with beautiful islands, the lake is blue and clear, surrounded by green hills and lush green forests. There are “Huangshan couples” and “Chinese emeralds”. , The reputation of “Oriental Lake Geneva”. The plot of “Daiyu Going North” in the 87 version of “Dream of Red Mansions” was set here.

It is said that southern Anhui is the most ancient place in China. The ancient villages and towns hidden among the green mountains and clear waters are beautiful and lingering. Of course, the most brilliant city among them is Huangshan City. Chengkan Village, hailed as “Chengkan Shuangxianli, the No.1 Village in the South of the Yangtze River” by Zhu Xi, the acting scholar of the Song Dynasty, has a history of more than 1,800 years, and is the oldest and best-preserved ancient Bagua Fengshui village discovered in the world. The ancient village integrates natural landscape and humanistic landscape, with Yin-Yang and Eight Diagrams as the layout. The site selection strictly follows the ancient Fengshui theory of “pillow mountains, surrounding water, and face screen”. It is a way for tourists to experience the Chinese Book of Changes and the Eight Diagrams and the ink Huizhou culture ideas.

Although Hongcun and Xidi are included in the World Cultural Heritage List as the same organization, they are two completely different experiences and enjoyments for every tourist who has been there. Founded in the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, Hongcun is the cradle of Hui culture and one of the important gathering places of ancient Hui merchants. It has a long history of nearly 900 years. It is famous for the harmonious coexistence of lakes and mountains, stacked courtyards, natural landscape and humanistic connotation. It is known as the “countryside in Chinese painting”. Xidi, known as the “Peach Blossom House”, is known for its exquisite Huizhou residences and profound cultural connotations, and has the reputation of “Chinese Ming and Qing Folk House Museum”.

Located at the foot of the famous Huangshan Mountain, Tunxi Old Street, with a total length of 1,272 meters, is composed of more than 300 Hui-style buildings built in different eras. It is the most complete ancient street in my country with the most architectural styles of Southern Song and Ming and Qing Dynasties. . Tunxi Old Street has been an important commercial town in ancient Huizhou since ancient times. It is known as “Little Shanghai”. Its essence is 853 meters long, and the building as a whole has the style and characteristics of Huizhou residential houses in the Song Dynasty, so it is also called “Song Street”. At the same time, because it is located at the confluence of the three rivers of Hengjiang, Lishui and Xin’anjiang, it enjoys the reputation of “Flowing Qingming Riverside Map”. In 2009, it was elected as the “Chinese Historical and Cultural Street” together with Pingjiang Road in Suzhou and Guozijian Street in Beijing.
