Architect Do Nguyen Anh Quy (Sun Concept) designed a minimalist house for his parents with the total cost of construction and interior excluding electronics about 3 billion VND.
The work was renovated from an old house with a small, cramped space. The design and interior of the house is old from the time of grandparents, no longer suitable, less modern and causes many inadequacies for users.

From those reasons, architect Do Nguyen Anh Quy (Sun Concept) designed a new house with a width of 4.5 m and a length of 13.7 m, including a ground floor and two floors and three bedrooms for parents, located located in Nha Trang City. The total cost of construction and interior excluding electronic equipment is about 3 billion VND. Architect Anh Quy said that he wants to build a solid house for his parents to shelter from the sun and rain with modern furniture that is easy to use and has reasonable house functions. Because the land area is not large, I want to use a minimalist style to increase the space in the house. Therefore, the architect and design team proposed that because the house in the alley had an unstable wind direction, two skylights would be used to both create an open space and get light. Function and style at the discretion of the owner, but with emphasis on the new furniture but still convenient for parents to use. The house is completely new with streamlined motifs, both ancient in the bedroom and modern in the kitchen and living room, bringing the whole nature into the small house in a subtle way. In addition, the gate uses stylized bricks to ventilate the house from the outside to help the house stay cooler. Ground floor includes living room, kitchen, dining area and bedroom, front yard. Living room, architect Anh Quy uses the spirit of minimalist style, only combining the white color of the wall paint and the wood color of the interior. Brown sofa set with upholstered mattress combined with payment wooden TV cabinet. The dining area is designed with wooden dining tables and chairs in accordance with a nature-friendly style. The highlight is the eye-catching design of the antique wooden dining table set, but breaking in the shape makes the dining space both natural and modern. Most of the interior materials are also made from natural materials, which is very suitable for the design of the whole house and very true to the architect’s and parents’ ideas. Brown sofa set with upholstered mattress combined with payment wooden TV cabinet. The kitchen area is attached to the dining table, the architect mainly uses wood and white colors. Stairs leading to the first floor are light wood. The set of tables and chairs in the dining area creates a feeling of comfort and room for users. The front yard of architect Anh Quy creates a small ecosystem in front of the house with vertical and climbing plants to help keep the house cooler. Besides, the architect also designed many curves in the house as accents. The use of two skylights saves on cooling and lighting equipment for the house. Impressive orange upholstery is the highlight of the bed and bed as for the whole bedroom. There are two porcelain pedestals above the headboard, instead of the usual bedside tab, which can hold useful items, lamps, books and phones. Bedroom two, this room is a combination of the previous two rooms but still follows the minimalist theme of the whole house. In the small living room, the architect designed a small table and chair set where the architect’s parents could drink tea, the family gathered together every Tet holiday. In front is a balcony where you can plant trees to create a new ecosystem. The architect also designed a small living room with a small table and chairs so that parents can drink tea and the family gather together every Tet holiday. Outside, there is a large balcony where you can grow plants and flowers. The third floor is the space of a solemn worship room with a typical Vietnamese classical style altar.

The global shortage of computer chips is unprecedented in the history of modern technology. The crisis makes it difficult for consumers to find basic items such as smartphones, home appliances, etc.
An increasing number of manufacturers around the world are finding it difficult to secure supplies of semiconductors, causing production and delivery delays, raising concerns about the potential for commodity prices to rise. with consumers.

The global chip shortage could last until 2023. (Source: Nikkei) Came in by surprise The Covid-19 pandemic was the first to cause the global economy to fall into recession last year, disrupting supply chains and changing consumer shopping patterns. So, to cope with the pandemic, automakers are forced to cut chip orders in 2020, while chip manufacturing companies also reduce production activities. But the rapid recovery and mis-predictions of car buyer demand have caused automakers to rush to place orders in large quantities. Meanwhile, the supply of semiconductor chips is not enough. In addition, the US government’s sanctions on Chinese technology corporations, plus consumers who bought many laptops, game consoles and other electronic products during the pandemic led to Inventory is getting smaller and smaller. Although computer chips are not very complicated or expensive, they are an integral part of making electronic devices and household items. Shortages are getting worse, spreading from the car industry to the consumer electronics market. Estimates by the US-based Semiconductor Industry Association say about 75% of global manufacturing capacity is in East Asia, led by TSMC (Taiwan) and Samsung (Korea). U.S. semiconductor companies account for 47 percent of global chip sales, but only 12 percent of global output is produced here. The shortfall is due to Asian companies investing too little in 8-inch chip factories. These companies have struggled to ramp up production as demand for 5G phones and laptops grew faster than expected. Qualcomm Inc, Samsung’s smartphone chip maker, is one of the major chipmakers struggling to keep up with consumer demand. Apple’s main supplier Foxconn also warned about the lack of chips affecting the supply chain for customers. Widespread impact The chip crisis hit the car industry first, especially on the productivity and sales of big companies like General Motors, Ford and Volkswagen. According to market research firm IHS Markit, the shortage of electronic chips affected the production process of 1.3 million cars and trucks worldwide in the first quarter of 2021. The company’s report also shows that the Renesas chip plant fire in Japan in March, as well as disruption to chip factories due to severe winter weather in Texas, will cause shortages. becomes serious. Last month, the British mini-car maker said it had suspended production lines for three days because of chip shortages. Recently, Ford also warned that the number of products is at risk of falling to 1.1 million vehicles this year. At the end of last year, the impact of the chip shortage crisis spread to consumer electronics. Last month, Apple’s financials indicated that the company would suffer losses of between three and four billion dollars in the first two quarters of the year, with the biggest impact on Mac and iPad products. Recently, Chinese technology giant Xiaomi increased the prices of some TV models, citing the fact that the price of key components increased higher than before. Meanwhile, two electronics groups Samsung of Korea and Sony of Japan also simultaneously increased product prices. In addition, the crisis has begun to affect China’s home appliance manufacturing sector. The world’s largest maker of home appliances, Midea Group, said the price of chips used to make home appliances would soar if the global chip shortage persists. The biggest impact from the chip crisis is still consumers. While demand for consumer electronics and automotive items tends to be quite price-sensitive, a reduced supply can increase the price of affected items by 1-3%. This could temporarily boost inflation later this year. Chip pressure has pushed up car prices in the US. New prices averaged $37,200 in the first quarter, up 8.4% year-over-year. Meanwhile, production disruptions due to chip shortages will continue. CEO of chip maker Infineon (Germany) Reinhard Ploss estimated that it will take about two years for chip supply and demand to be balanced. THIUY VUY (according to SCMP/Reuters)

When it comes to micro or nanotechnology, you think of electronic devices like a phone or a microchip.

But many Covid-19 tests can give results within hours without sending the sample to a lab, and most of these tests use an approach called microfluidics. What are microfluidics? A microfluidics system is any device that handles small amounts of liquid. Fluid moves through channels thinner than a hair, and tiny valves can turn the flow on and off. These channels are made of materials such as glass, polymers, paper or gel. One of the ways to move liquids is to use a mechanical pump; another way is to use the surface charge of certain materials; and one more way is to use so called capillary action – commonly known as wick. One thing is clear, every nook and cranny of the human body is microfluidic. We could not be born or function without complex blood capillaries that carry food, oxygen, and signaling molecules to every cell. Like microelectronics, size is a key factor in microfluids. As components get smaller, devices can rely on the exotic properties of liquids on a small scale, can work faster, more efficiently, and have cheaper manufacturing costs. The microfluidics revolution has been quietly shouldering microelectronics technology. Another major benefit of microfluidic devices is that they require only a very small amount of liquid and can therefore be very small in size. NASA has been considering using microfluidic analyzers for their long Mars missions. The analysis of precious liquids – such as human blood – also benefits from the ability to use small samples. Example: A glucose meter is a super liquid instrument that requires only one drop of blood to measure a diabetic’s blood sugar. Chances are you have been using microfluidics quite often in your life. Inkjet printers shoot out tiny droplets of ink. The 3D printer extrudes the molten polymer through a microfluidic nozzle. A nebulizer for asthma patients will spray out tiny droplets of medicine. The pregnancy test relies on the flow of urine in a microfluidic strip of paper. In scientific research, microfluids can direct drugs, nutrients or any liquid to very specific parts of an organism to more accurately simulate biological processes. The future of microfluidics Microfluidics will be key to bringing medicine into a new, fast-paced, affordable era. Wearables that measure substances in sweat to track fitness progress and implantable devices that help deliver cancer drugs locally to a patient’s tumor are some of the next frontiers in microbiology. biomedical liquid. Researchers are developing complex, fascinating microfluidic systems called organs on a chip that aim to simulate different aspects of human physiology. In laboratories around the world, teams are developing tumor-on-chip platforms to test more effective cancer drugs. These patient-representative chips will allow scientists to test new treatments in a way that doesn’t entail the cost, suffering, and ethical issues associated with animal or human testing. Imagine going to the doctor, taking a biopsy sample and, in less than a week, using the scientists’ microfluidic device, the doctor can figure out which drug is most effective to remove the mass. your u. While that is still in the future, what we do know is that microfluidic will be an integral part of the future.

WiFi is the most popular radio wave today, not only providing the internet, but scientists are also studying how to make it able to generate power for some small electronic devices.
Technology is increasingly developing, supporting people in all aspects of life, including the smallest jobs. In particular, scientists have been working for years to harness the power of ambient radio waves to power small devices. And Wi-Fi is undoubtedly the richest signal source today.

The study demonstrated a new approach to harnessing these frequencies, developing a new chip that can convert them into power for a small LED, possibly other small electronics and sensors. . Over the years, they’ve looked at a number of research projects aimed at capturing energy from radio waves, such as those generated by Wi-Fi, with some showing real potential. The idea is to turn the energy from these wireless networks so that it doesn’t go to waste and use it for power supply purposes. However, generating effective amounts of energy has so far been challenging. The researcher holding the chip has a series of small devices called torque oscillators that can power LEDs. The new technology, developed by scientists at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Japan’s Tohoku University, uses a torque oscillator (STO). This is a relatively new class of micro-devices that are capable of generating microwaves, but have so far only resulted in low output power. Fusing multiple STOs together on a single chip is the way the scientists hope to increase this power output, but they have had difficulty determining the optimal configuration. Efforts are hampered by issues around distance and low frequency response. The authors of the new study designed and tested the new layout, where eight STOs are connected in a chain, which they say overcomes these problems. The new layout can take the 2.4 GHz radio waves generated by Wi-Fi signals and convert them into direct voltage signals. It will be fed into a capacitor and used to light up a 1.6 volt LED. Charging the capacitor for 5 seconds allows the LED to stay on for one minute, even after the power has been turned off. Study author Professor Yang Hyunsoo said: “We are surrounded by Wi-Fi signals, but when not in use to access the Internet, they will not work and this is a huge waste. The available 2.4 GHz radio waves become a source of green energy, thus reducing the need for batteries to power the electronic devices that we use frequently. In this way, small electrical devices and sensors can be powered wirelessly using radio frequency waves. With the advent of smart homes and cities, our work can create energy-efficient applications in communications, computers and neuromorphic systems.” The researchers will seek to enhance the energy harvesting capabilities of this technology by increasing the number of STOs in the chip. They will also explore how it is used to power other electronics and sensors. Huong Giang (via: New Atlas)

In 2020, VinSmart has sold nearly 2 million mobile phones, an increase of more than 200% compared to the previous year’s sales and accounting for nearly 13% market share in Vietnam.
Established in June 2018, VinSmart is one of the two main companies operating in the manufacturing division of Vingroup, along with car and electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast.

This manufacturing company now owns a phone and electronic equipment factory with an annual design capacity of 125 million devices. In the most recent year (2020), VinSmart said it sold 1.95 million smartphones to the market, up 225% compared to 2019 sales (600,000 units). One of the two production components of Vingroup With record-high phone sales, VinSmart also became the third largest smartphone supplier in the domestic market with 12.7% market share. This is the first time a Vietnamese phone brand is in the top of the largest manufacturers and consumers in the market. VinSmart sold more than 1.95 million smartphones to the domestic market and exported 1.3 million units in 2020. Photo: Gemini. Notably, in addition to selling phones in the domestic market, in the past year, VinSmart also for the first time recorded revenue from outsourcing and manufacturing original equipment for foreign partners. In it, the company said it had signed a contract and started exporting smartphones to US carriers and foreign customers, with an output of 1.3 million units last year. Returning to the domestic market, VinSmart has now launched 18 smartphone models in the segments from popular to high-end. In addition, this manufacturer has also begun to expand its product portfolio to other electronic devices such as electronic components, air purifiers, etc. In 2020, VinSmart has also become a partner for manufacturing components. blower components for Medtronic PLC ventilators, exported to the US and Ireland. In addition to the production of phones and electronic devices, VinSmart is also the enterprise in charge of building a technology ecosystem for Vingroup’s real estate projects with three core products, including Smart city (member of Vingroup). smart city), Smart home (smart home) and Smart services (digital services). Currently, VinSmart is the contractor in charge of deploying smart city solutions in all 3 major urban areas of Vinhomes including Vinhomes Ocean Park, Vinhomes Smart City (Hanoi) and Vinhomes Grand Park (HCMC). Manufacturing is not prioritized? In the latest announcement, Vingroup announced that it will close VinSmart’s TV and mobile phone production segments to focus on developing high technology for VinFast. This move follows after Vietnam’s largest private group had to withdraw from a series of previous business activities to focus on industry and technology. In fact, although it is one of the two components forming the production division of Vingroup, VinSmart’s activities are always invested much less than VinFast. Specifically, in terms of both investment scale and business results, VinSmart is still very modest compared to car and electric vehicle manufacturers with the same owner. According to the separate financial report of parent company Vingroup in the first quarter, the original value of Vingroup’s investment in VinSmart is estimated at nearly VND 5,000 billion, an increase of more than VND 2,000 billion compared to the beginning of the year. However, this figure is less than a quarter of the value of Vingroup’s investment in VinFast, reaching VND 22,007 billion at the same time. The scale of investment and production activities of VinSmart is much smaller than that of VinFast. Photo: Hoang Ha. Despite being one of two subsidiaries that received additional capital through direct investment in the first quarter, the value of Vingroup’s investment in VinSmart is currently only fifth and much lower than other businesses like Vinhomes (22,981 Billion); VinFast (22,007 billion); Vinpearl (16,992 billion); Vincomerce Holding (5,928 billion). In previous years, the investment in VinSmart was also in the middle and low group of Vingroup’s long-term financial investments in subsidiaries. Regarding business results, because VinSmart’s operating report has not been published in detail, the company’s revenue and profit is still accounted for in the production department along with VinFast. In 2020, the revenue of Vingroup’s production division (including VinFast and VinSmart) reached over VND 18,000 billion, an increase of more than 80% compared to 2019. In which, the leader of this group said revenue increased sharply in the year. thanks to increased sales of cars and smartphones. However, as planned by the leadership of this group continuously, Vingroup’s production division in the same year had a pre-tax loss of nearly VND 14,000 billion. In the first quarter of this year, manufacturing was also one of Vingroup’s high-growth business divisions along with real estate. Revenue from this activity brought the group a total of VND4,825 billion, up 44% over the same period. However, the business results report by division of Vingroup said that this business segment still has a pre-tax loss of 4,814 billion. With the cessation of smartphone and television production, in the coming time, VinSmart will focus mainly on high-tech development for VinFast and partly on Vinhomes’ real estate projects. In addition, part of the factory will be used to process for partners, the rest will be expanded and adjusted to produce new products.

According to the Top Gear Volkswagen has a different idea about autonomous vehicle technology, that in the future users can turn on or off the car’s self-driving features when needed. The accompanying condition is that the customer must register a subscription.

That means if the autonomous feature is needed, car owners can activate it and pay for it. Currently, any car connected to the internet can receive software updates, similar to electronic devices like smartphones. Even with just one software upgrade, the range of an electric vehicle can be dramatically increased. Existing platforms make Volkswagen’s head of sales and marketing Klaus Zellmer think the group can exploit that way of working to give customers more freedom in the use of their vehicles. Instead of letting customers choose the equipment, Volkswagen will assemble the car with everything but disable them with software. When there is a need to use it, customers spend more money to rent that feature under a monthly or yearly subscription package. To visualize, Zellmer used the example of Level 4 autonomous mode expected on VW vehicles in the future. As soon as this almost the highest self-driving feature is officially adopted and widely used, many people probably still do not believe it and do not use it. So they won’t have to spend money. As for car owners in need, Zellmer shared that they may need to pay about 7 euros, about $ 8.5, per hour to be able to use the level 4 autonomous feature.

Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) factory in Wuhan, China. (Source: Nikkei Asian) Rise of the chip manufacturing business Once a month, senior executives from Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) fly to Beijing for a series of meetings with China’s top economic regulators. They focused on the company’s efforts in developing some of the world’s most advanced computer memory chips. Headquartered in downtown Wuhan, YMTC is considered a pioneer in efforts to create the domestic semiconductor industry. YMTC has mass-produced state-of-the-art 64-layer and 128-layer NAND flash memory chips, which are used in almost every electronic device from smartphones to servers to cars. These things help YMTC compete with big players in the industry such as Micron Technology of the US or Samsung Electronics of Korea. Equipment used to make high-end computer chips is mostly imported in the US. Some chip design and manufacturing processes such as etching, ion implantation, electrochemical deposition, design software… are all in the hands of American companies. To manufacture without using American technology is a big challenge for a new company that has been operating since 2016 like YMTC and also represents China’s great ambition in the field of semiconductor industry development. especially after the economic sanctions that the US imposed on China. However, the dizzying rise of YMTC has shown China’s strength in the chip industry. The business started in 2016 and within four years has mass-produced some of the most advanced 3D NAND flash memory chips in the world. The Beijing government also recognizes the importance of developing the semiconductor industry and makes efforts to support these companies. “Competition for chips is increasing as all major economies, not just China, have realized the importance of chips,” said Roger Sheng, a chip analyst at consulting firm Gartner. Semiconductors”. Currently, YMTC, is still in the “target” of the US government. But under the guidance of the Beijing government, they have conducted a review of the supply chain, looking for local component suppliers, or non-US suppliers, to gradually eliminate the country’s dependence on technology. Based in the city of Wuhan, YMTC’s efforts did not stop even when the SARS-CoV-2 virus causing the Covid-19 pandemic wreaked havoc last spring. According to sources familiar with the matter, after Wuhan reopened in April 2021, YMTC mobilized hundreds of engineers stationed inside the production campus, working three shifts a day with the aim of overhauling all production processes and replace as many foreign imported components as possible. Efforts to localize production The effort to localize chip production is an opportunity for a new generation of Chinese chipmakers like YMTC. Chinese President Xi Jinping said in remarks published in January 2021: “We must strengthen self-innovation and make breakthroughs in some core technologies as soon as possible.” According to the Nikkei Asian , plans to end dependence on the US have long been carried out by China and massively invested by the state, but progress is still very slow. For example, the plan to self-produce semiconductors has a target of 70% by 2025. But of the total revenue in 2020, China’s semiconductor manufacturing enterprises account for only 5.9% of sales. domestic products, while foreign companies with headquarters in China account for the rest of sales in the country. According to the Magazine China Stocks , while the threat of sanctions from the US has always lingered, the source of state aid, with subsidies and investments from local governments and the private sector has amounted to at least 170 billion USD since Since 2014 has helped chip manufacturing enterprises to localize production efforts. In addition, orders from domestic technology giants such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Lenovo are also the reason their production is guaranteed. The US sanctions are a wake-up call for China’s semiconductor industry. (Source: Nikkei Asian) In fact, the trade war with the US and its sanctions against technology giant Huawei have given the Chinese government an opportunity to decouple from the world’s largest economy. – something they’ve always wanted. The US sanctions seem to have removed the main obstacle for domestic consumers, who always prefer to use chips from foreign suppliers. The manager of a chip maker in China told the site Nikkei Asian : “In the past, domestic chipmakers used only the manufacturing equipment that all the world’s leading chipmakers such as Samsung and Intel use in their production lines. Who wants to use and try new products without being sure of the quality of the production?” However, when sanctions from the US appeared, Chinese manufacturers considered alternatives, and domestically produced chip products were a reasonable choice. The manager emphasized: “It also means that domestic enterprises have really had the opportunity to test and upgrade their products – the goal that the whole country is aiming for.” Roger Sheng, a semiconductor analyst at Research Gartner, found that the US-China tensions confirmed the view that it was necessary to localize production. Now, the whole country agrees that building a semiconductor industry is possible and increasing self-reliance is a top priority. Unbreakable bond? Despite China’s considerable efforts, not many experts believe that the country’s chip sector will be completely separate from the US. The world’s two largest economies are still linked, dependent on each other and also two large semiconductor markets. According to a January report by the Brookings Institution, Chinese businesses account for at least 25% of the sales of most US chip businesses, and not everyone wants to break out of the market altogether. Chad Bown, an expert at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, said the US President Joe Biden’s approach to China was still unclear. On the one hand, the US expects China to buy more chips as promised in recent trade talks but also continues to restrict China’s use of US technologies. Since 2018 to date, a total of 162 Chinese entities have been sanctioned by the Trump Administration. In April 2021, the US Department of Commerce also added seven Chinese “supercomputer” entities to the economic blacklist, to restrict these businesses from using US technology. In reality, it is still difficult to completely decouple the supply of semiconductors, which involve thousands of suppliers from around the world and have been closely intertwined for decades. China may try to reduce its dependence on the United States, but without American sources of technology, it is unlikely to accelerate its technological progress. But Miin Wu, founder and president of Macronix International, a leading memory chip maker in Taiwan (China) that serves Apple, Sony and Nintendo, stressed: “In the short term, due to geopolitical uncertainties China’s technological development may be slowed down. However, in the long run, China will certainly hope to build a competitive semiconductor industry.” (according to Nikkei Asia)

‘Offline’ is a practical must-read for those who are ‘addicted’ to using smartphones and social networking sites.
“We initially decided to write this book because we felt suffocated by the constant ringing of the phone calling our attention and pulling us away from what was happening in the real world.” Authors Imran Rashid and Soren Kenner explain so in their book.

Social networking sites have only appeared in recent years: Facebook was founded in 2004, Youtube – 2005, Twitter – 2006 and Instagram – 2010. But its level of “manipulating” users is amazing. Before that parameter, Offline exposes digital technology overload and its consequences, and tells readers to free their minds and keep a safe distance from smartphones and social media. Social networks are “manipulating” people As of 2019, there are more than 5 billion people in the world with smartphones and 1.5 billion people with tablets. Soon, it is expected that about 75% of the total global population will be using this advanced device. Among the social networking sites today, Facebook holds the title of the most popular social media platform. In Vietnam, more than 70% of the population has a Facebook account. However, a surprising information is that, in the midst of a forest of “addicts” to Facebook, even its father – Mark Zuckerberg – does not spend much time surfing the product he created. Instead, he lives a happy life with activities of reading, traveling, playing sports… In the midst of people immersed in online, Mark Zuckerberg (creator of Facebook) still leisurely travels, plays sports and reads books. Photo: Bing Bong Bot. Every day we “tribute” online time to Mark, instead of spending it with our loved ones or other healthy jobs, and this online activity continuously turns us into subjects, responsible for answering the king of the world. I asked “What are you thinking?”. Book Offline spent half of its pages sparking revelations about brain hacks that Facebook, Apple, Tiktok, or Instagram used to entice users. The more glued to the screen, the more the founders of the technology applications will have more pocket money. Online how to not cause harm? It is undeniable that electronic devices also partly change individuals and the whole society in a good way when connecting human exchanges and interactions quickly. The impact is good or bad depending on how we spend our time and minds online on social networks. Soren Kenner (one of the two authors of the book) shared, in this high-tech world, he even has to text through Messenger to invite his children to dinner because he knows otherwise they will not come down. Offline books help free your mind from smartphones and social networks. Photo: TT Next, the two writers posed the question: Do you ever feel chills in a cafe when friendly jokes are replaced by sombre silence, when the whole cafe flickers with bright lights? light emitted from dozens of large and small electronic screens? Smartphones are slowly becoming the first thing you look at in the morning and the last thing you see before you go to bed. Social networks also create a virtual feeling for people, making us sometimes feel as if our pockets are vibrating. But this is just one of the many consequences of being online too much. This level of damage can be improved if you know how to control the frequency of “tribute” time to social networks and high-tech applications. With practical, straight-to-the-point writing, Imran Rashid and Soren Kenner offer a range of methods for freeing the mind from smartphones through setting the modifier of creation: Identify the sizing factor. activities, coping planning, psychological fundamentals, learning to focus… Offline Not only researching tricks to attract and manipulate users’ brains, but also drop in on readers how to protect themselves from digital pollution to use healthy electronic devices and more connected to the real world.

Liquid crystal display (LCM) production area at Samsung Electronics Ho Chi Minh Complex in Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park. Reported at the online conference on the socio-economic situation in April and the first 4 months of the year by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of May 11, the representative of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said, the total retail sales and Consumer service revenue in the month was estimated at VND 90,153 billion, up 22.3% over the same period (down 34.2% in the same period). Generally for the first 4 months of the year, the total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated at 366,234 billion dong. 7.9% increase (11.2% decrease in the same period). In particular, the export value of high-tech products of the City High-Tech Park (SHTP) reached US $ 6.47 billion, up 27.1% over the same period. Moreover, the index of industrial production (IIP) of the city in the first four months of the year was estimated to increase by 9.7% over the same period (down 2.6% in the same period). There were 5,588 enterprises operating again, an increase of 95.18% over the same period. According to forecasts of many experts, during the 4G and 5G technology transfer period, the 4th industrial revolution and the need for digital transformation is happening around the world, the demand for chip production in the coming time will higher. Not only chips and microchips, but also the demand for electronic equipment components tends to increase compared to previous years. In addition, many enterprises producing electronic equipment and technology in Vietnam admitted that they were affected by the global chip crisis. More than ever, chips, electronic components, microchips have appeared in most electronic devices such as new citizenship cards, non-stop automatic fee collection, bank ATM cards to other Popular household electronic devices such as televisions, refrigerators, electric cookers, electronic rice cookers … In the current context, Vietnam does not have a chip manufacturing factory, but just design and manufacture overseas. Therefore, domestic electronics and technology producers will certainly be affected by the global chip crisis.

The Indian government’s decision makes it difficult for many technology firms operating here, from Dell, HP to Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo.

Businesses have difficulty when the Indian government suspends the license to import Wi-Fi devices According to Reuters sources, India delayed the approval of imports of Wi-Fi modules from China for several months. These include complete electronics like Bluetooth speakers, wireless headphones, smartphones, smartwatches, laptops, all of which contain a Wi-Fi module. The Wireless Planning and Coordination Agency (WPC) under the Ministry of Communications of India has suspended the license since November 2020. More than 80 applications from US, Chinese and Korean businesses are waiting. Even records from some domestic companies have the same fate. Tough stance on Chinese imports comes amid Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling for stronger economic self-sufficiency. His policies have helped spur the assembly of smartphones in the country. Reuters sources believe that the latest move by the government to persuade companies to allocate more electronics production in India. However, technology businesses are faced with a difficult situation: production in India requires a large amount of capital and has to wait a long time to be profitable. On the other hand, the government has imposed import barriers that put them at risk of huge losses. In the past, India allowed companies to self-declare wireless equipment, making it easier to import. However, the invitation rule in March 2019 requires them to seek government permission. Although India is already the world’s second-largest mobile phone maker, analysts and technology experts say the country is not of enough scale or scale for big companies to invest. into manufacturing IT products and smart wearables. Watch out for Chinese technology The delay in WPC licensing also represents a strategy to reduce China’s influence on India’s technology industry, especially following last year’s border clash. This week, Modi’s government removed Huawei from the list of companies tested for 5G, while competitors from Europe and South Korea were allowed. Once 5G starts rolling out here, New Delhi is likely to ban carriers from using Huawei equipment. In 2020, US businesses such as Apple, Cisco and Dell will also be stuck in Sino-Indian tensions when Indian ports “detain” imports from China. At the end of 2020, India tightens papers proving the quality of Chinese goods, slowing down the process of importing iPhones. Currently, once they have obtained the proof of quality, they are stuck at another gate, which is the WPC. Du Lam (Reuters)

Vietnamese women over the age of 35 have increased demand for electronics and electronics. The percentage of women buying electronics and electronics online is even equal to that of men.
This is the comment made by iPrice – a product search and price comparison tool currently available in Vietnam and six countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, and Hong Kong.

According to iPrice Group, in the e-commerce report of this group in 2020, Vietnam has 2 names, including The World of Mobile and Green Electronics, in the top 10 of e-commerce websites with high traffic volume in the East region. South Asia. The fact above shows that the trend of online shopping for electronics and electronics is becoming more and more popular among Vietnamese users. Without a man, Vietnamese women tend to buy electronic appliances by themselves. Photo: Trong Dat By analyzing more than 1 million page views on iPrice in the first three months of 2020 and 2021, this report has shown that, in Vietnam, the proportion of female users buying electronics and electronics on the trading floor. electronics as high as men. The report shows that in the first quarter of 2021, the percentage of women shopping on e-commerce sites in the industry was 43%, an increase of 5% over the same period last year. Although men are still the main shoppers in the portfolio when accounting for 57%, this figure has declined. Notably, among female users, the group of women aged 35-44 and 45-54 who are interested in the online electronics market in Quarter I / 2021 increased by 4% compared to Q1. / 2020. In the older age group (from 55-64), this proportion also has a slight increase (2%). Statistics in the form of demographics of users buying electronics, electronics on e-commerce floors. Data: iPrice In contrast to middle-aged women, in the group of young women (from 25-34 years old), the percentage of electronic and electronic goods purchased in the first 3 months of this year decreased sharply (10%). According to experts, the cause of this situation may be because this is a group of office workers. These people have a high demand for electronic equipment such as computers, headsets, cameras, … in early 2020, when the trend of working remotely is rising at the time of the Covid-19 outbreak. Because the life cycle of electronic and electronic products is quite high, the demand for purchasing new equipment of this target group will decrease when entering 2021. The above data have shown that not only men and women today are showing their initiative in buying electronic and electronic equipment. This is especially true on e-commerce platforms, where they can easily compare prices and are provided with all the necessary information about the item to choose from.

The percentage of women buying electronic and electronic products online is increasing. Men are still considered the main buyers of electronics and electronics, but these attitudes and trends in consumer behavior have somewhat changed in Vietnam according to a comparative analysis of more than 1 million. views in the first 3 months of 2020 and 2021 electronic and electronic goods according to the product search engine and iPrice price comparison. THE RATE OF WOMEN BUYING ELECTRONICS, ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS INCREASES According to iPrice’s survey, the percentage of women who buy electronic and electronic products online is equal to that of men. If in the first quarter of 2020, the percentage of women shopping for these items was 38%, in the first quarter of 2021, the percentage of women shopping on e-commerce sites in the industry was 43%, an increase of 5. % compared with the same period last year. Although men are still the main shoppers in the portfolio when accounting for 57%, this figure has decreased compared to the same period last year (62%). The report also shows that there is a change in the shopping age group of women. Although there was no sudden growth, however, women in general and women between the ages of 35 and 64 in particular paid certain attention to electronics and electronics in the wake of the Covid epidemic- 19 seems to be cooling off. They also began to approach more electronics and electronics purchases on e-commerce platforms. Specifically, in the first three months of this year, the percentage of women aged 35-44 and 45-54 who purchased items in this category increased by 4% compared to Q1 / 2020. In addition, the older age group from 55 to 64 also had a slight increase of 2%. Percentage of online purchases of electronic products between men and women Meanwhile, the group of younger female consumers aged 25-34 has a sharp decrease of 10% compared to the first three months of 2020. Research experts say that this change may be due to the impact of the pandemic. Covid-19 in early 2020, when most people prioritize social separation and work from home. Therefore, the proportion of consumers in general and office women in this age group in particular tend to purchase electronic and electronic products to serve the needs of working and daily living at home. . The trend of changing shopping behaviors of Vietnamese consumers has also been partly shown in the e-commerce report just announced when there are two names specializing in electronic and electronic products business. Mobile and Dien may Xanh are in the top 10 high-traffic websites in Southeast Asia. This shows that the electronics and electronics market in Vietnam has been receiving a lot of attention from consumers on e-commerce websites. SHOPPING AND PAY MORE ON Mobile The survey also showed that shopping on mobile devices grew 4%. Consumers are more likely to purchase electronic and electronic products on mobile devices than on computers and tablets. Up to 80% of consumers decided to shop on mobile devices in Q1 / 2021, compared with 18% and 2% for computers and tablets. These rates in the first quarter of 2020 are 76% on mobile, 22% on desktop, and 2% on tablet. According to data from the Digital 2021 report of We Are Social, up to 61.4% of users decide to pay online via mobile devices. Thus, “mobile first” (mobile first) will still be one of the trends that will continue to take place in the “new normal” period for enterprises trading in electronic and electronic products. Trends of users are increasingly performing more tasks such as finding out, shopping, and paying on their mobile phones. Specifically, there are more than 154 million mobile subscribers, of which 64% of accounts are connected to 3G, 4G and 5G networks. Internet traffic from Android devices continues to lead with 64.6%, higher than the same period last year 2020 (61%), iOS decreased from 37% to 34.5%. According to We Are Social’s Digital Vietnam 2021 report, mobile application groups that are used a lot by Vietnamese users in 2020 include: messaging, chat (94.7%), entertainment and video viewing (83 , 4%), listening to music (58%), playing games (57.2%), shopping (68.5%), finance and banking (40.1%) … In general, these numbers are not too different from those of the same period in 2020. Only shopping apps recorded a higher usage rate, up from 55% (2020) to 68.5%. (2021). The report emphasizes that Vietnamese users are increasingly prioritizing purchases on mobile apps. Regarding shopping, except for travel, travel and accommodation services, down 40.5%, the groups of fashion, digital equipment, food, personal care, games, online music all there are signs of a sharp increase in spending. On average, user spending on these industries increased by over 30%.
