Kayleigh Haywood, a 15-year-old girl from Measham, Leicestershire, met her killer via Facebook. When the girl’s body was discovered, police used a special phone to unlock her device – which was locked and severely damaged – to extract information. The evidence obtained helps the police find the culprit, which is the neighbor Stepen Beardman. It also exonerated a suspect. Previously, this technology helped the FBI unlock the iPhone of the San Bernardino shooter after Apple refused to cooperate, as well as collect evidence after the shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando. Florida (USA). Of course, there will be objections to a company that helps the government hack their phones. That makes Cellebrite, the Israeli company behind the jailbreak device, a target of attacks by human rights groups around the globe, who fear it could be used for wrongdoing. Yossi Carmil, one of the founders and CEOs of Cellebrite, says Cellebrite’s “moral compass” remains intact. He describes himself as “good people who support heroes in their work”, which is saving lives, maintaining peace in the community. Cellebrite was originally a company that provides backup, transfer and restore smartphone data, partnering with carriers such as Orange, T-Mobile, Carphone Warehouse. About 10% of their business comes from private companies that need to extract data from employees’ phones for HR reasons, intellectual property theft or fraud investigations. Mr. Carmil, 54, has close ties to the military and police. He spent four years in the army, where he was a combat soldier and special forces officer. He called it a “proud” period. He used to work for the Israeli Defense Ministry before moving to Europe to live for 10 years, working at Bosch and Siemens. He spent most of this time in Germany, where he earned an MBA from Ludwig Maximilian University. He returned to his hometown of Israel after the death of his sister, later married and had three children. His 19-year-old eldest son Carmil is also serving in the army, currently stationed at the border between Israel and Gaza. Breaking encryption applications, violating user privacy, making Carmil’s image worse in the eyes of technology leaders. Moxie Marlinspike, CEO of the secure messaging app Signal, once published an article detailing a vulnerability that could change the content of messages when Cellebrite extracts them, damaging important evidence. However, Mr. Carmil said that exploitation of that vulnerability never happened in practice. For Mr. Carmil, the UK is an important market with about 50 law enforcement agencies using their technology. In addition to 17 sales and marketing staff in Europe, Cellebrite will hire more researchers and developers. In total, the company has about 300 employees, some of which have been brought in from other intelligence organizations and technology firms. When asked how to ensure their technology is not used against innocent people or human rights, Mr Carmil said “it is my responsibility not to let the tools of power fall into the wrong hands”. Cellebrite has a legal department that writes policy and a compliance officer who reports directly to the CEO. Prior to the initial public offering, Cellebrite also established an independent ethics committee to prosecute Cellebrite for violations. Mr. Carmil said the company controls every license it sells remotely and can disable and blacklist any license, even when there is little doubt. Cellebrite is banned from selling technology to Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine. Recently, they decided to stop selling to Russia, Belarus and China. Often known as a shady company, silenced by secret contracts, Mr. Carmil wants more transparency ahead of the IPO. Du Lam (According to Telegraph)

On May 10, DarkSide, the hacker group believed to be behind the attack on Colonial Pipeline, the company that operates the largest refined fuel pipeline in the US, posted a new statement.

According to the Vice , DarkSide’s message does not directly refer to the Colonial Pipeline attack, but is titled “Regarding the Latest News”. The group said its actions were unrelated to politics. The cyber attack on May 7 caused the Colonial Pipeline’s fuel pipeline system to stop working. Don’t tie us to a government or look for other motives… Our aim is to make money, not to cause problems for society,” a DarkSide representative wrote on a website belonging to the dark web. According to the Washington Post , some US officials believe that DarkSide is the hacker group behind the Colonial Pipeline attack. Also in the new statement, DarkSide said it will change the way it works and selects targets. “From today, we will examine and analyze each company that partners want to encrypt to avoid social consequences,” the group wrote. On May 7, Colonial Pipeline announced that it had to disconnect some systems after discovering it was “a victim of a cyber attack”. According to the Business Insider , this move caused more than 8,046 km of fuel pipes and some computer systems of Colonial Pipeline to stop working. In an updated statement on May 8, the company representative confirmed that the software used for the attack was in the form of ransomware, which encrypts files in the system and requires victims to pay if they want to get it. again. The company hired a cybersecurity firm to investigate the severity of the attack. The DarkSide hacker group spoke out after the alleged implementation of a cyber attack against the Colonial Pipeline. Photo: Motherboard. According to information on its website, Colonial Pipeline transports about 45% of all fuel consumed on the East Coast of the United States. On May 9, the company said that while the main pipelines are still closed, some smaller pipelines have been reactivated. In response to the incident, the US Department of Transportation has declared a state of emergency in 17 states and Washington to lift restrictions on carriers and drivers assisting in fuel shortages. The declaration of emergency will be in effect until the end of the state of affairs, or until 23:59 on June 8 (local time). After the Colonial Pipeline incident, gasoline prices in the US increased more than 3% to $2,217 per gallon – the highest price since May 2018. Experts warn that the price of gas raw materials may increase further if Colonial Pipeline does not reopen the pipeline in the next few days. How did the FBI hack the suspect’s iPhone? Cellebrite has invented a phone-cracking technology that makes it easier for the FBI to investigate.

It is difficult to understand that all the furniture in the apartment is almost intact. This mysterious case for the past 70 years has yet to find a convincing answer.

Victim Mary Reeser and the scene of the body burned to ash, leaving only a portion of the leg left. Photo: ATI On July 2, 1951, Pansy Carpenter, Mary Reeser’s landlord, stopped by the tenant’s apartment to send a telegram. When Pansy knocked on the door, no one answered. She put her hand on the doorknob and felt unusually hot, so she called the police. Police immediately went to the apartment at 1,200 Cherry Street (St. Petersburg town, Florida, USA) when he discovered that Marry Reeser, 67 years old, had died in a mysterious fire. Reports say the victim’s body was burned to ashes by a “white” flame – a color displaying temperatures between 1,300-1,500 degrees Celsius, equivalent to that in a crematorium. The victim’s body was almost completely ashes, leaving only one leg left, with the sandals intact, and no trace of carbon black. A part of Reeser’s spine and skull were also found at the scene. Although the apartment was still very warm and smoky when the police arrived, most of the furniture was still intact. Only plastic objects placed near the chair of Mrs. Reeser were melted and deformed. The carpet had a scorch mark. Most of the chair where the victim was sitting burned, but the wall behind that was not cracked or scorched. The rest of the room seemed unaffected by the fire that burned Mary Reeser. The sheets nearby are also not burnt, damaged, or even dirty. The scene of a mysterious fire in the apartment of Mary Reeser. Photo: ATI It takes about 1,600 degrees Celsius to heat for 3 or 4 hours to cremate a body. Therefore, the incident has made the authorities confused. Due to the mysterious circumstances of the case, it is suspected that Mrs. Reeser was a victim of spontaneous human combustion. It is when a person ignites their own flame from a chemical reaction inside their body, without any apparent ignition from the outside heat source. Although there have been documents about the human body igniting itself as early as 1663, not all scientists are convinced by it. Sheriff Cass Burgess was the detective investigating the Reeser case at the time. “This fire is too strange a thing,” he told reporters. Apartment diagram where the “ashen woman” case took place. The fire location is close to the kitchen, opposite the bed is still intact. Photo: thedeadhistory On 7/7/1951, Burgess and his team sent the evidence box from the victim’s apartment to the FBI laboratory (in Washington DC) for chemical analysis. Some of the evidence included ash, shoes, part of the carpet, mortar from the walls, pieces of fibers suspected from the victim’s nightgown, fragments of bone, and remains of the chair Reeser sat on when she died Fire…. The public is also very attentive to the case. Investigator Ed Silk said at least 15 amateur detectives called him to come up with their theories. The detective team released a statement saying it was a “accidental death from unexplained fire”. That doesn’t mean they are concluding the investigation, but just to help organize the burial of the victim, Burgess explained. Meanwhile, the FBI determined that Mary Reeser’s death was not caused by self-ignition. However, the incident is still a mystery. The FBI believes that Mary Reeser’s own body fat that fueled the fire that burned her could have come from smoking a cigarette and falling asleep. Ms. Reeser was set ablaze and “as soon as the body caught fire, almost complete destruction occurred from the victim’s own adipose tissue”. It is true that human adipose tissue is very flammable, and even easier in fat people. And Reeser is a huge woman, weighing 77kg. Investigators examine the crime scene. Photo: ATI The FBI’s explanation also has some basis, but it provides only partial explanation, as there are still some anomalies. For example, a stack of newspapers lined up next to the victim’s chair is still intact, not even scorched. Dr. Wilton M. Krogman, a professor of physical anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, an experienced fire researcher, disagrees with the FBI’s conclusions. Mr. Krogman has written about all five deaths he investigated in the past. “I cannot imagine such a complete cremation without burning the apartment at all,” the professor wondered. Some other explanations are given one after another, such as lightning, explosives … However, that night there was no lightning at St. Petersburg. The test sample of the evidence from the scene also showed no signs of any gasoline or flammable substance. After an investigation went nowhere, the police finally concluded the cause was “a forgotten cigarette”. However, the question from here is, will someone die from being unable to wake up even while on fire? If Mrs. Reeser was awake, why couldn’t the housekeeper Pansy hear the screams? Finally, after exactly 70 years, the death of the “ashen woman” remains a mystery that challenges investigators.

The US Department of Justice indicted a participant in the Capitol Riot, after he was discovered for bragging about victories on online dating app Bumble.
Robert Chapman – New York resident – was arrested on April 22. This person was charged with 4 less serious crimes, CNN reporting.

Court documents show that a week after the riot, Chapman told an acquaintance via the Bumble app that he broke into the Capitol. Chapman also boasted of being interviewed by several news agencies. The other Bumble app user replied Chapman that “we don’t match”. The person then contacted the FBI and provided screenshots of the conversation, prosecutors said. Robert Chapman was discovered after showing off his victory at the Capitol with an acquaintance through the dating application Bumble. Photo: Newsweek. Authorities compared Chapman’s Bumble profile photo with that of a security camera and a police camera on the Capitol. Thanks to that, the police concluded Chapman really broke into the headquarters of the US Congress. Before January 6, Chapman wrote on Facebook that he was going to the “District of Criminality” (a mockery of the Washington District of Columbia). On January 6, Chapman posted on Facebook that he was inside the “trashy Capitol”. Posting posts that boast victories on social media is one of the characteristic behaviors of those involved in the Capitol riot. Thanks to information on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, the authorities have discovered dozens of people participating in the riot. To date, more than 390 people have been indicted for their involvement in the Capitol riots.

Appeared for the first time in February 2011 in the US, the black website Silk Road (Silk Road) quickly became known by US players and some countries around the world as an online drug market.
It is run by a hidden program to help customers log in and buy and sell securely. Until Silk Road was destroyed by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the number of its transactions reached more than 1.5 million people and nearly $ 2 billion …

More than 1.2 million black transactions over 2 years The work started in mid-2010, Ross Ulbricht, born in 1984, obtained a master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, majoring in Computer Science but passionate about free economic theory. In February 2011, Ross and his two friends Jones and Smedley gave birth to the Silk Road website with the statement: “I create a model so that everyone can experience firsthand what we have. trading rights… ”. However, the things Ross sold for sale on the Silk Road site are murderous things. It includes heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, amphetamine, meth, marijuana, ecstasy … Customers who want to log into this website are required to buy an account and pay a monthly fee. After buying, Silk Road will provide them with a software that hides all information each time they log in to avoid the tracking of authorities such as the FBI, the US Drug Prevention Agency ( DEA). The average person who goes to the Silk Road site will only see it advertising about 10,000 products such as clothes, art works, books, cigarettes, jewelry … with public terms, such as “no sale or purchase. anything that has a malicious or deceptive purpose, including child pornography, stolen credit cards, weapons … ”but in fact, 70% of all goods sold online are drugs. Grouped with titles: Stimulants, hallucinogenic drugs, drug precursors, meth, opium, ecstasy, psychotropic drugs and steroids. Besides, there is also a fake driver’s license, but only members with access can access this “market”. Also to avoid being tracked, Silk Road’s server was located in Reykjavík, Iceland, while Ross took his alias (nickname) as Dread Pirate Roberts. All transactions on the Silk Road site are made with Bitcoin virtual currency, not cash. Ross Ulbricht, the owner of Silk Road. In June 2011, information about Silk Road began to appear in the press, making it famous, leading to increasing traffic. In this situation, an American senator, Mr. Charles Schumer, asked the FBI and DEA to close it. The collapse of Silk Road began in February 2013, when an Australian national cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy) dealer became the first person to be convicted for crimes directly related to Silk Road. While searching the man’s home, the police discovered files on his laptop that proved he bought drugs from Silk Road. In December 2013, Australian police cooperated with DEA to arrest another New Zealander when he had just received 15 grams of methamphetamine purchased on Silk Road. The FBI obtained 11.02 Bitcoins – equivalent to $ 814 at the time. According to the FBI and DEA, based on collected data, from February 3, 2012 to July 24, 2012, an estimated $ 15 million in transactions were made on Silk Road. “A significant increase in volume from $ 30 million to $ 45 million in a short period of time won’t do,” Nicolas Christin, a Silk Road researcher, said in an interview with the Global Economic news site. I am surprised. The buyer and seller make all transactions in the virtual currency Bitcoin in the form of Mr. A, for example, placing an order for Bitcoin at an investment channel – of course it is legal. Then, Mr. A sold to Mr. B – it is also legal but in fact, the Bitcoin A sold to B is the amount to pay to buy drugs. Silk Road holds A’s Bitcoins through B’s account until A receives the goods. However, by the time A transfers Bitcoin to B, Silk Road will activate a hedging mechanism that allows B to retain the value of Bitcoin relative to the USD. Any change in Bitcoin price that occurs in the process of not being delivered to A, Silk Road is not responsible ”. According to the FBI and DEA, from February 6, 2011 to July 23, 2013, there were 1,229,465 completed transactions on the Silk Road website with the participation of 146,946 people, of which 30% came from the United States. followed by UK, Australia, Germany, Canada, Sweden, France, Russia, Italy and the Netherlands. The rest about 27% did not declare their address. Also during the 60-day period from May 24 to July 23, 1,217,218 messages were sent through Silk Road’s own system. The ecstasy sells on Silk Road for 0.69 Bitcoin 1 gram, but requires an account to log in. Make billions of dollars by selling drugs through the web At 3:15 p.m. on October 2, 2013, Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, was arrested while in the Glen Park library, San Francisco city, California on charges of buying, selling, transporting narcotics, money laundering, illegally entering computer networks. Initially, the FBI seized 26,000 Bitcoins from Silk Road accounts, equivalent to $ 36 million (as of 2013). Near the end of October, the FBI collected an additional 144,342 Bitcoins, worth $ 87 million. The capture of Ross is also not easy because Silk Road operates on the hidden operating system, The Onion Router. First, FBI computer experts discovered Ross’s email address on the Gmail website. In those emails, a number of files were sent to a person named Altoid. From there the FBI knew that Altoid had once posted an article on a forum about the virtual currency Bitcoin, asking experts in the field to email him at an address. Following that address, the FBI found it linked to multiple Gmail accounts. Youtube and Linkedin all share the same destination, Silk Road. And because every time online, Ross uses the VPN protocol to conceal his location, so the FBI has to apply for a court order, requiring the internet provider to publish Ross’s VPN. It leads to an internet cafe in San Francisco and eventually a library in the Glen Park neighborhood, where Ross was arrested. Ross’ trial began on January 13, 2015 in Manhattan Federal Court. During the interrogation, Ross admitted he had founded the Silk Road website but he said that he transferred the admin rights to someone else shortly after Silk Road was born. In defense of Ross, the lawyers assumed that the nickname Dread Pirate Roberts was actually Mark Karpeles, and Karpeles used Ross to commit illegal acts. However, Judge Katherine B. Forrestra ruled, dismissing all of these excuses During the second week of the trial, the prosecutor presented documents and chat logs from Ross’s computer, proving he directly managed Silk Road using BitTorren software to conceal all manipulations. on the Silk Road site for both drug dealers and buyers. When the FBI arrested Ross, his personal computer was still running the software. Silk Road drugs sent to buyers by mail were seized by the FBI. On February 4, 2015, a jury convicted Ross of seven offenses, including “continuous participation in a criminal business, drug trafficking, intentional concealment of income, money laundering and trespassing. illegal computer entry ”. Ross was sentenced to life in prison without parole. It is worth noting that during the trial, Judge Forrest received death threats multiple times. On a website called The Hidden Wiki, someone posted Judge Forrest’s personal information, including his home address and social security number. Ross’s attorney Joshua Dratel stated that he and his client “strongly condemned anonymous posts concerning Judge Forrest”. “Ross has nothing to do with the site, and his The Hidden Wiki posts do not reflect his opinion,” Dratel said. In a letter to Judge Forrest prior to his sentencing, Ross said his actions through Silk Road were an expression of liberal economicism, and: “Silk Road was created to give everyone the right to their own choices, “but Ross also admitted” made a terrible mistake, ruined a lifetime. ” On May 29, 2015, a jury of the Manhattan Federal Court ruled that Ross had to serve 5 sentences, including 2 life sentences without parole, Ross was also confiscated $ 183 million. On May 31, 2017, the Court of Appeal rejected Ross’s appeal and the Supreme Court also refused to review Ross’ case. Parallel to the Ross trial, the court also brought to the trial two federal agents who secretly investigated Silk Road. One of these two is Carl Mark, a DEA employee, and the other is agent Shaun Bridges. Both took Ross’ money for falsely reporting Silk Road activities. Among the more than 130 suspects arrested by the FBI for drug trafficking and money laundering, there is Dutch drug dealer Cornelis Jan “Maikel” Slomp, 23, who was accused of buying and selling drugs on a large scale through the site. web Silk Road and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Another, Steven Sadler, was sentenced to five years in prison. In addition, there are two Silk Road administrators Andrew Michael Jones and Gary Davis with the nicknames “Inigo” and “Libertas”, both of which were also sentenced to prison. Shortly after Silk Road collapsed, on the Internet, there suddenly appeared a website Silk Road 2.0, operated by the nickname “Defcon”. On February 13, 2014, Defcon announced that $ 2.7 million in Silk Road 2.0’s escrow accounts had been stolen, but he promised to return the full amount to the account holders. On November 6, 2014, the FBI arrested Blake Benthall, who ran Silk Road 2.0 under the name “Defcon” with an Englishman, Thomas White, who started the website Silk Road 2.0 but information about the arrest. only announced by the FBI in 2019. Yet, in order to “follow” the Silk Road brand, in January 2015, Diabolus Market launched the Silk Road Reloaded website with features similar to Ross’ Silk Road. but it was also taken down by the FBI. On November 3, 2020, FBI agents specialized in currency tracking discovered 2 transactions with a total of 69,370 Bitcoins, worth about $ 1 billion at that time, made from a related address. Silk Road website. Investigation results showed that this Bitcoin belongs to an individual with the nickname “X”. who bought Bitcoin from Silk Road before it collapsed. According to the FBI, they are still investigating this address to see if it is a new generation Silk Road, or just the remaining issues of Silk Road.

Qian Xuesen (The Precursor of Ginseng) is a scientist with many important contributions to the space and self-propelled bullet programs of both the US and China. The name he used while in America was Hsue-Shen Tsien or HS Tsien.
In Shanghai there is a museum containing 70,000 artifacts dedicated to the “people’s scientist” Qian Xuesen. Qian is the father of China’s rocket and space program. His research helped develop China’s first satellite launch missile into space and the rocket became part of the country’s nuclear arsenal, revered as a national hero.

Qian was born when the last Chinese dynasty was about to be replaced by a republic. From a young age, Qian was gifted and eventually, he graduated with distinction from Shanghai Jiaotong University, winning a rare scholarship from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in America. Qian Xuesen (Precursor of Ginseng) From MIT, Qian moved to the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), studying under one of the most influential Hungarian aeronautical engineers named Theodore von Karman. There Qian shares his office with another famous scientist, Frank Malina, who is a key member of a small group of innovators known as the Suicide Squad. Fraser MacDonald, author of “Escape from Earth: A Secret History of the Space Rocket”, said the group earned the nickname for its efforts. of them in building a rocket on campus and because of some of their experiments with volatile chemicals. At that time, rocket science was considered by MacDonald as “a tool of reelers and fantasies. No one takes it seriously – no mathematic engineer has risked their reputation in saying this is the future. But, that quickly changed when World War 2 began. The “suicide squad” attracted the attention of the US military and was funded for research on a jet-assisted takeoff method, where the boosters were attached to the wings of aircraft so they could fly. overhead from short runways. Military funding also helped establish the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in 1943, with its director, Theodore von Karman. Qian, along with Frank Malina, is at the center of the project. Qian is a Chinese citizen but the ROC is an ally of America, so “there is no great doubt that a Chinese scientist is at the heart of America’s space effort,” said Fraser Macdonald. Qian is licensed to work in the classified weapons research department and even served on the US Government Scientific Advisory Board. At the end of the war, Qian was one of the foremost experts in jet engines and was sent with Theodore von Karman on an extraordinary mission to Germany, serving as a temporary lieutenant colonel. Their goal was to interview Nazi engineers, including Wernher von Braun, Germany’s top missile scientist. America wants to find out exactly what the Germans know. But, by the end of the decade, Qian’s sparkling career in America suddenly stopped. In China, Chairman Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. Meanwhile, a new JPL director believed there was a spy group at the laboratory and shared the suspicions. about a number of employees with the FBI. It is in this atmosphere that the FBI accuses Qian, Frank Malina and others of threats to national security. The allegations against Qian are based on 1938 US Communist Party documents that show Qian attended a social gathering that the FBI suspected was a meeting of the Communist Party of Pasadena. Zuoyue Wang, a history professor at California State Polytechnic University, claims there is no evidence that Qian ever spied for China or was an intelligence agent while he lived in the US. However, Qian was stripped of his security passport and placed under house arrest. Caltech colleagues, including Theodore von Karman, wrote to the government pleading for Qian’s innocence but to no avail. In 1955, after Qian was under house arrest for five years, President Eisenhower decided to expel him to China. The scientist left by boat with his wife and two children born in America. Qian told reporters he would never set foot in America again and that he kept his promise. When he arrived in the US, Qian had very little knowledge of rocket science. But, 15 years later, he oversaw the launch of the first Chinese satellite into space. For decades, Qian trained a new generation of scientists, and his work laid the foundation for China to send people to the Moon. While most Americans know nothing about Qian and his role in the US space program, Tianyu Fang said many Chinese Americans and Chinese students in the US knew about him, why he had to leave. and they see similarities today. “US relations with China have become so much worse that they know they could be suspected of being like Qian’s generation,” Fang commented. In Fraser MacDonald’s view, Qian’s story is a warning about what happens when knowledge shredding. “The whole story of American science is that it was driven by people from outside.” MacDonald believes that JPL’s contribution to the American space program was far ignored compared to Wernher von Braun and other German scientists, who were secretly arriving in America shortly after von Karman and Qian’s visit. Braun was once a Nazi but his achievements are recognized. Whereas the achievements of Qian and others from the JPL are not. Qian’s life lasted for nearly a century. During that time, China has grown from an uneconomical country into a superpower on Earth and in space. Qian is part of that transformation. But, Qian’s story can also be a great American one – where talent can flourish wherever talent is found.

When the theft of 13 paintings, including 2 paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer painters, took place at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, USA on March 18, 1993, painting experts said this. is the biggest picture theft in history. 28 years have passed, the total value of the paintings has reached 500 million USD and despite a series of theories and studies on the identity of the perpetrators, the motives and methods of the crime, and the whereabouts of the works were lost … but the FBI still has not been able to solve this case.
The Gardner Museum is still offering a $ 10 million bonus to anyone who can provide information on the case. On April 7, 2021, Netflix released a documentary titled “This is a theft: The most expensive painting theft in the world” …

Cheeky theft All 16,000 paintings, sculptures and ceramics in the Gardner Museum were collected by a woman named Isabella Stewart Gardner. After inheriting a huge fortune from her millionaire father in 1891, she and her husband Jack Gardner – also a millionaire – began to visit Europe, and buy Roman sculptures and vases. antique, paintings by painter Rembrandt. After realizing her collection was very valuable, she built a museum named after her in the hope that it would contribute to “educating and entertaining the public forever”. Empty picture frames at the Gardner Museum Isabella passed away in 1924, and due to the couple’s only child, who accidentally died at a young age, she confiscated the entire museum. However, without the financial patronage of the female millionaire, the Gardner Museum quickly declined. On the evening of March 18, 1993, two police robbers tricked two young night guards, 23-year-old Rick Abath and 25-year-old Randy Hestand, to open the door to the museum on the grounds of investigating a case. Puppet takes place inside. The two security guards had no doubt that March 18 was St. Patrick’s Day, which was an “occasion” for the people of Boston to party and fight. The two thieves quickly restrained Rick and Randy, disabled security cameras and removed the precious paintings from the frame. The two thieves left at 2:45 am, and two security guards were bound and gagged with tape until the other guards arrived at 8:15 a.m. Two thieves took away the most valuable artworks on display at the museum: Rembrandt’s only seascape painting “Storm on the Sea of Galilee”, “Ladies and Gentlemen in Black” as well. by Rembrandt, one of more than 10 paintings surviving to this day by the most talented Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer “The Concert”. In addition, they also stole a self-portrait of the painter Rembrandt, 5 draft drawings by French Impressionist Edgar Degas, a painting by the painter Edouard Manet and when they could not remove the Yellow flag. When Napoleon came down, they took away an antique Chinese bronze jar. Painting “Storm on the Sea of Galilee” painted by painter Rambrandt – the most valuable item of what was stolen When she donated the museum to the city of Boston, Isabella made it clear her condition in her will, presumably to protect her brainchild from merchants, that no one was allowed to sell or donate. Contribute works of art, do not add any new works, and do not rearrange collections, and if these terms are breached, everything, including land. The Gardner Museum built … will be renamed to Harvard University. These strict provisions inadvertently created a major obstacle for the museum’s management: they could not hang other paintings to replace stolen ones, so they had to hang empty frames – like one. how to remind all of the lost treasures. Years passed, and these frames became the most popular “works” here. For Anthony Amore, director of security at the Gardner Museum and chief investigator of the theft, the fact that visitors were more concerned with empty frames than the remaining works made him concerned that Theft will overshadow the real value of the stolen treasures. “The paintings are artifacts of hundreds of years ago, to demonstrate a past that is not preserved in photographs. With just one ticket, one can see Rembrandt’s brush strokes, and now Now, we don’t maintain museums for money, but because we want to end the tragedy of the missing paintings. ” Theories were put forward for three decades Mr. Anthony investigated the case as detailed and comprehensive as possible, because he believed that if he answered every tip-off email and followed every trace he received, no matter how far away they sounded, he would be. Surely he will find something. Mr. Amore is still working with FBI agent Geoff Kelly, who is in charge of investigating the Gardner burglary. Gardner museum’s security director, Mr. Anthony Amore Mr. Geoff is the latest FBI agent in a series of agents assigned to investigate the case since 1981. Over the past three decades, the FBI has conducted a series of underground investigation campaigns from Miami, USA to Japan. The village is far away, and every time they leave empty-handed. Mr. Witman, a retired FBI agent, believes that the Corsician gang’s line in France that he infiltrated under the guise of an antiques “trigger” in 2006 actually owns the paintings. stolen in 1981. However, since many years have passed, he is not sure if they still keep those treasures. Responding to this clue, Mr. Anthony said that the paintings were not in France. Currently, the FBI has come up with a theory that Anthony is quite confident, that is the artwork stolen by two low-level minions in a criminal organization in Boston. The FBI once believed that Carmello Merlino was holding them because during a 1998 eavesdropping, agents overheard Merlino blabbering that he knew where the spoils were. However, later, when arrested for armed robbery and interrogated by the FBI, he was unable to indicate where the Gardner museum property was hidden. Merlino was sentenced to 47 years in prison, and died in 2005. The FBI and Anthony tracked down two tycoons in Maine, USA in 2003 and almost found the stolen stuff. In 2013, the FBI announced that they knew the identities of both thieves, and that both had passed away. As of now, the paintings may be in New England, USA. Portrait sketch of two perpetrators Geoff maintains his theory: Boston tycoon Whitey Bulger donated the paintings to the Interim Irish Republican Army (IRA) – a paramilitary organization aimed at ending British rule in the North. Ireland, and the IRA have indeed been involved in a number of antiques smuggling. After Bulger was arrested and the museum’s assets have yet to be found, Geoff argued that the two thieves did not follow the IRA’s orders but were still associated with the organization because they committed the crime on St. Patrick’s Day – one Important holidays for the people of Ireland. In addition, it is true that the IRA stole works of art, but they only stole domestic museums, such as the Russborough Museum in Ireland – which has been stolen by the IRA four times in a row. Mr. Anthony also pointed out that there are many works of Rembrandt in Europe, so the IRA does not have to fly to America to cause the crime. Mr. Geoff’s hypothesis was supported by inspector Charles Hill – a member of the committee that had found the picture “Scream” in 1994 – supported. Mr. Charles asserted that gangster Martin Foley, owner of the notorious debt collection company Viper, which has a close relationship with the Rossborough Museum’s painting thief, has “led the way” to two perpetrators selling the items. Gardner Museum items, that’s why Martin knows where the paintings are. Currently, Martin Foley is being sued by the Irish Property Criminal Bureau for owing $ 830,000 in taxes and Charles convinced him that he would be rewarded with $ 10 million, more than enough to pay, if he would declare it all. However, Charles thinks Martin is afraid of being prosecuted by both the FBI and Ireland for possession of fraud. There is another theory about the people behind the theft, which is that two security guards staged the crime. Dutch historian Arthur Brand, who has been dubbed the real-life Indiana Jones, opposes this argument and believes two security guards were not involved in the case. Attempts to solve the case in 2021 The Gardner Museum is currently closed due to the epidemic, but Mr. Anthony still goes to work every day, communicating with all the informants about the case. Over the years, many witnesses have passed away, but Anthony patiently added new findings and reread the tens of thousands of pages of evidence the FBI had provided. This man believes the answer must lie somewhere. Former lawyer Martin Leppo, although he did not search for the paintings, was still unable to stop pursuing the case, partly because so many people contacted him every day. Of course, Mr. Martin also encountered many imposters. For example, in 2019, a woman demanded to meet him and insisted her father was involved in the case, and she knew where the paintings were. But when Mr. Martin asked to see the paintings, she disappeared. “A few days ago someone called me to invite me to Saudi Arabia because he had a clue where the stolen items were, and I told him if he could find it, call me back,” he said. .

DB Cooper is one of the few successful ransom robbers in the US and has been able to hide his whereabouts to this day.

In 1971, a man who claimed to be Dan Cooper stole a passenger plane from Oregon to Seattle, USA. In Seattle, he agreed to release 36 passengers in exchange for a cash amount of $ 200,000. After receiving the money, he asked the crew for the plane to take off south and then suddenly parachute with all the ransom money. Since then, no one has seen this man again, according New York Times.

After 45 years, in 2016, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) decided not to pursue the search for Cooper anymore. Until now, his whereabouts are still a big question.

Portrait of DB Cooper. Photo: FBI.

Nobody knows who Cooper really is or someone who does, but refuses to speak. The FBI describes Cooper as an “information-free” object. At the time of the daring robbery, he seemed to be over 40 years old. If yes and now Cooper is still alive, then he is over 90 years old. In the media, he is often referred to as “DB Cooper”.

On November 24, 1971, “Dan Cooper” approached the Northwest Orient Airlines ticketing counter in Portland, Oregon, wearing a business suit and carrying a suitcase. The man paid for a one-way ticket on a flight numbered 305 to Seattle and this was the beginning of “one of the biggest unknown disappearances in the history of the FBI.”

Cooper was described by witnesses as a “quiet” man. He ordered a glass of bourbon and soda while he waited for the plane to take off. When the plane was in the air, after three o’clock in the afternoon, from seat 18C, he handed the flight attendant a small piece of paper saying he had a bomb in his suitcase. The hostess takes note of his request, 4 sets of parachutes and $ 200,000 in cash including $ 20 dollars, and then passes it to the captain.

In Seattle, Cooper releases passengers for money and parachutes. When the exchange ended, he made the crew take off again, heading for Mexico City. Cooper also ordered the aircraft not to fly more than 10,000 feet (3,048m).

After 8:00 pm, while the plane was somewhere between Seattle and Reno, he suddenly jumped off the tail of the plane with the ransom in a wooded area and disappeared. All that’s left is just his tie with a clip.

The mission to life of “Dan Cooper” is the subject of lucrative exploitation of American popular culture. It is so dramatic that it has become a source of writing inspiration for many authors, directors and composers. But unanswered questions must be patched up by guesswork.

In 1980, a boy found a rotten $ 20 bank on the Columbia River worth $ 5,800 matching the ransom serial number assigned to Cooper by the authorities. If measured in terms of inflation, the ransom of $ 200,000 in 1971 would be equivalent to about $ 1.2 million today. It is not clear what happened with the remaining money.

The FBI said it interviewed hundreds of people, followed countless leads across the country, and scrutinized the plane for evidence. Five years after the robbery, the FBI examined 800 suspects. Like newspaper New York Times reported in 2011, FBI files on the case to more than 12 meters long, cataloging more than 1,000 suspects.

At one point the FBI believed that the jump killed Cooper. At that time, snow covered the mountains in the area, which was unfavorable for any skydiving, especially at night. It was a cold night, the clothes Cooper wore was not warm enough and since then, no notes of money given to Cooper have been circulated by the authorities.

One of the suspects questioned is Richard Floyd McCoy. He committed a similar robbery and also escaped with even five months after Cooper’s flight. But McCoy was identified as not Cooper for not matching the descriptions provided by the flight attendant and for other undisclosed reasons.

The plane robbery carried out by DB Cooper is a prime example of the beginning of the era of hijacking. By the mid-1970s, at least 150 aircraft had been robbed in the US alone.

The FBI said that even if it no longer pursues the investigation, “countless items” that it has collected over the years will still be preserved for historic purposes at the agency’s headquarters. Residents can still contact the FBI if there are specific leads.
