Four years in London contributed to the formation of Ho Chi Minh’s thought. It was here that he first read the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and creatively applied Marxism to the cause of national liberation and independence.
110 years ago, on June 5, 1911, President Ho Chi Minh, then a young man named Nguyen Tat Thanh, left Nha Rong Wharf, Saigon port, on board the Admiral Latouche-Tréville ship. the journey to find the way to national liberation. During 30 years of finding a way to save the country, Ho Chi Minh stayed in the UK for 4 years from 1913-1917, a time that was not long but had an important meaning in shaping his political thought. The Vietnam News Agency correspondent in the UK had an interesting trip to places in London where Uncle Ho used to live and work.

The building was built on the old Carlton hotel, where President Ho Chi Minh used to work during his years in London. Photo: VNA One morning in June in the cool early summer period, the London sky is blue, the sun is golden like honey, I visited the Drayton Court Hotel on The Avenue in Ealing district, west of London. Elegantly located in one of London’s greenest and most beautiful suburbs, Drayton Court is one of the oldest and largest pubs in Ealing, opening in 1894. With its impressive façade and antique décor Classic, elegant, this is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing weekend with the family, or enjoy a drink with friends at one of West London’s largest beer gardens. Song Drayton Court is also attractive to visitors because this is the only hotel in London that has ever had a waiter who later became a world-class leader, that is President Ho Chi Minh. On the Drayton Court’s website, the hotel’s history introduction reads, “Ho Chi Minh, the leader of Vietnam, worked hard in the hotel’s kitchen in 1914, before he continued his journey to change his name. changed the country’s history, driving out forces from Japan, France and the United States.” In 1914, President Ho Chi Minh served at the Drayton Court Hotel located on the quiet, deserted The Avenue street, in the Ealing district, west London. Photo: VNA/phat Stepping into the hotel with classical and elegant architecture and decoration, giving visitors a feeling of relaxation, I can’t help but be moved when I imagine the days of hard work to exhaustion of the young man. Nguyen Tat Thanh was in his twenties here more than a century ago. Talking to the hotel’s receptionist, I learned that after Drayton Court was renovated in 2011, the kitchen where Uncle used to work was completely rebuilt and became part of the cool green beer garden, Open space located behind the hotel. Walking around the beer garden where local guests happily enjoy beers with friends, I seem to see a glimpse of a slender Vietnamese young man who does not care much, hard at work in the old kitchen of the customer. hotel. Although Drayton Court is no longer imprinted with the period when President Ho Chi Minh worked here, his imprint still seems to be intact. When I was struggling to look around the outside corners of the hotel to get a good picture, a man in his 60s approached and asked: “Do you know what’s so special about this building?”. I pretended to ask: “What is it?”, “This is where President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam used to work”. I felt a mixture of amazement, delight and pride. Amidst the busy modern life of London, a British citizen mentioned the leader of Vietnam in a historical event more than a century ago. Before I could react, he continued: “This is really an interesting and special destination for Ealing. A lot of tourists have come to visit.” The man, named Brian, said he lived in an apartment complex right next to the hotel. When he learned that I was Vietnamese, he excitedly said that he had met many Vietnamese tourists coming here, and expressed his admiration for Ho Chi Minh, who had found the way to liberate the Vietnamese people. Drayton Court Hotel is located on the quiet, deserted The Avenue street, in the Ealing district, west London. Photo: VNA/phat Leaving Drayton Court with mixed joy and pride, I continued my journey to the New Zealand building located on Haymarket Street. In contrast to the quiet space of Drayton Court on the deserted The Avenue, the modern New Zealand building is located at the end of bustling Haymarket Street in the heart of London, close to Trafalgar Square and the National Museum of London. The New Zealand High Commission’s 19-story building was the first high-rise to be built in central London, on the site of the Carlton Hotel, a luxury hotel that opened between 1899 and 1940 before being completely destroyed by bombs. in war. While living in London, President Ho Chi Minh worked as a kitchen assistant at the Carlton Hotel. The front of the New Zealand building has a green peace sign with the words “In 1913, Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) – the founder of Vietnam – worked at the Carlton Hotel, the building that used to be on this ground”. This place is probably the most famous destination in London with Vietnamese tourists. Vietnamese delegations to London often ask the New Zealand High Commissioner to visit the basement below the building, where the kitchen of the Carlton Hotel was formerly. The New Zealand building is also known by many locals and visitors for its speciality. As I was reading intently the green sign outside the building, to my surprise a man on a bicycle stopped by and happily asked if I would like him to take a picture of the underside of the sign, because you’re sure I’m Vietnamese. Not only did he agree immediately, but I asked if he could take a picture with me at this meaningful place. The 10-minute conversation between me and Mr. Steven helped me understand his special affection for Vietnam. Steven said he was originally from London, living in Covent Garden, about a kilometer from the New Zealand building. He said he really admired Ho Chi Minh’s patriotism and said that it was that patriotism that helped him find the way to independence for the nation. Steven made me feel really grateful when he said that whenever I or my friends come to the UK, give him a call. Sitting right on the sidewalk, he wrote on a small piece of paper his name, address and phone number, gave it to me and said that he always welcomes Vietnamese friends. I feel very fortunate to have met Steven, because the brief meeting helped me understand that Ho Chi Minh’s patriotism, courage, and vision made the whole world aware of the cause of Vietnamese national liberation. Male. In May 1913, Ho Chi Minh left France for England, the largest empire in the world at that time, to learn English and observe first-hand the dominating power of imperialism. In England, in order to make ends meet and spend money to learn English, he worked hard as sweeping snow, lighting furnaces, helping cooks at the Drayton Court Hotel and washing dishes at the Carlton Hotel. According to writer, historian, director of the Archives Center, Marx Library in London, John Callow, 4 years in London contributed to the formation of Ho Chi Minh’s thought. It was here that he first read the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and creatively applied Marxism to the cause of national liberation and independence. President Ho Chi Minh’s journey to find a way to save the country created a turning point of the Vietnamese revolution, changed the development direction of history and changed the fate of the entire Vietnamese nation in the 20th century. and at the same time make a mark in the history of the modern world. From a true patriot, Uncle Ho became a communist soldier, finding the right way to save the country in accordance with the historical situation of the country. For me, the trip to follow Uncle Ho in London left special emotions. I am secretly grateful to Him because His greatness has helped strangers like me, Steven and Brian become close friends.

Fashionable, personality and style, Korean female idols have never disappointed in creating trends. Learn these trendy hairstyles to “unleash” this summer!

Curly rattan hair With a poetic but no less haughty style, this summer, the curly curly hairstyle was vehemently promoted by a series of popular Kpop idols. If you are aiming for an attractive image with a “goddess” aura like Jisoo (BLACKPINK), you should immediately try the “Fog Perm” style – curly hair reaching to the bangs like a classic lady; or “Jelly Perm” – curly hairstyle with loose curls, looks natural and less fussy like national center Jang Wonyoung of I*ZONE. Keeping your hair strong and shiny is something that you absolutely must do to ensure this hairstyle is in tip-top shape. L’OREÁL Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein Absolut Repair Golden Masque Lightweight Touch with a special formula to help restore damaged hair. Red hair More prominent than the glare of the sun, red is definitely a perfect choice for girls who are in dire need of a breath of fresh air. However, if you’re not ready to dye your entire hair in a vibrant red, you can learn how Korean stars choose brown/black dyes with a bit of red to give their hair a nuanced look. sunlight shines in. This style, although not too eye-catching, is fully capable of increasing your prominence, arrogance and charm. Besides, pay attention to the steps of rinsing and conditioning with products specifically for dyed hair to keep the color durable and always shiny. TIGI Bed Head Color Goddess Oil-Infused Shampoo and Conditioner for colored hair is blended with sweet almond oil, coconut oil and keratin to help color fade and restore hair effectively. Messy high bun If you’re a K-pop fan, you’ve probably seen female idols wearing a pretty bun, showing off their sexy shoulders and collarbone. This hairstyle is more suitable than ever to wear in the hot summer months that are coming. The recipe to make this bun hairstyle is quite simple and only takes you a few minutes. First, just tuck the hair on the top of the head, then pull it loose, and don’t forget to leave a few small curls near the forehead or the sides of the ears to accentuate the slim lines of the face. Finally, do not forget to use a fixative spray to keep the bun in place and last all day long. Davines Perfecting Hairspray provides moderate hold with an invisible effect for long-lasting hold. Dye highlight blue How to look bold with sea air and taste of endless summer? Simply, hair with blue highlights is the answer for you. Fresh and striking, this hairstyle will give her a youthful appearance to unleash with the blue sea and yellow sand. You can highlight highlights on light hair for a sunny day like Wendy (Red Velvet); or use wigs to adorn the hair and avoid the bleaching and dyeing process like “sexy queen” Sunmi. Not only for the skin, using a sunscreen spray is also a top priority for the hair, especially during the exciting summer festivals. Moroccanoil Protect and Prevent Spray contains a blend of antioxidants to neutralize free radicals generated by UV rays, environmental pollution and other damaging factors. “Cricket beard” bangs Once very popular with the first generation idols, by the summer of 2021, the “cricket beard” bangs continues to be worn by Kpop beauties anytime and anywhere. With loose curls on the sides, your face will look smaller and slimmer. This silly bang with a length that is a few centimeters higher than your eyebrows is currently being loved by many Korean female stars. To conquer this rather “difficult” hairstyle, you should avoid having your bangs too thick because it easily makes you look “dumb” and stupid, and does not enhance the contours of your face. In particular, work hard to wash your hair or have a dry shampoo product ready to make sure your bangs are always bouncy and not sticky under the summer sun. Batiste dry shampoo is the perfect auxiliary for oily hair with the ability to clean the scalp, helping hair to bounce quickly. Perform: phoenix

See through smoke and fog, map a person’s blood vessels while monitoring heart rate – without skin contact; look through the silicon wafers to check the quality and composition of the electronic board. Those are some of the many functions of infrared camera new, developed by a team of researchers led by electrical engineers at the University of California San Diego. The camera detects a part of the infrared spectrum known as shortwave infrared light (wavelengths between 1000 and 1400 nanometers), which lies just outside the visible spectrum (400 to 700 nanometers). Shortwave infrared imaging, unlike thermal imaging, detects much longer infrared wavelengths emitted by the body. The camera works by shining short-wave infrared light at an object or area of interest, then converting the reflected low-energy infrared light back to the device into shorter, high-energy wavelengths. than the human eye can see. “It makes invisible light visible,” said Tina Ng, professor of electrical and computer engineering at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering. When technology Infrared imaging has been around for decades, where most systems are expensive, cumbersome, and complex, often requiring a separate camera and monitor. They are also often made with inorganic semiconductors, which are expensive, hard, and contain toxic elements such as arsenic and lead. The infrared camera that Ng’s team has developed overcomes these problems. It combines sensors and display into a slim, compact and simple device. It is made of organic semiconductors, so it is low cost, flexible and safe for use in biomedical applications. It also offers better image resolution than some of its inorganic versions. The camera is made up of multiple layers of semiconductors, each hundreds of nanometers thin, stacked on top of each other. Three of these layers, each made of a different organic polymer, are the key elements of the image: the photodetector layer, the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display layer, and the blocking layer. electrons in the middle. The photodetector layer absorbs shortwave infrared light (low energy photons) and then generates an electric current. This current flows to the OLED display layer, where it is converted into a visible image (high-energy photons). An intermediate layer, called an electron block, keeps the OLED display layer from losing any current. This is what allows the device to produce clearer images. Another special feature is camera effective in providing optical and electronic indicators. “This makes it multifunctional,” says Li. For example, when the researchers shined infrared light on the back of the subject’s hand, the camera provided an image of the subject’s blood vessels while recording the subject’s heart rate. The researchers also used their infrared camera to see through the fog and a silicon wafer. In one test, they placed an “EXIT” patterned photosphere in a small room filled with smog. In another setting, they placed a photorealist patterned “UCSD” behind a silicon wafer. Infrared light penetrates both smog and silicon, making it possible for the imagineer to see the letters in these illustrations. This would be useful for applications such as helping self-driving cars see in bad weather and checking for silicon faults. The researchers are currently working to improve the performance of this type of camera.

Reader Hai Le Cao shares a 3-day, 2-night journey to conquer the most arduous Nam Kang Ho Tao trekking in the Northwest with complex and dangerous terrain.
Belonging to Lai Chau and Lao Cai provinces, Nam Kang Ho Tao is a wild mountain area with many slippery and steep cliffs. Many backpackers call this the “mortal road”. With many complex terrain, without a helmet, you can hardly pass.

Below is the 3-day 2-night schedule to conquer Nam Kang Ho Tao of readers Hai Le Cao. Choose the right route You can choose 2 routes to climb the top of Nam Kang Ho Tao. If you have good physical strength, experience and like to try difficult roads, you should choose to start in Lai Chau province and return to Lao Cai province. Choosing this route, you will encounter romantic stone streams and primeval ancient forests. The terrain of this direction is suitable for all subjects. Ideal timing Around February-March or September-November is the time for you to conquer this road. Dry weather, less fog will make it easier to determine the direction. You should not trek this route in the rainy season or after a long rain. The mossy cliffs are quite slippery, the streams will become dangerous rushing water. Schedule The first day: 7h: The group moves by car from Sa Pa to Thao A village. The distance is about 90 km. 11h: Delegation to the village, meet the porter, distribute food and drink before departure. Right after that, the group started the journey. The first 1-2 km I found the road easy to go. The terrain is not too steep, enough for us to warm up and catch up with the challenge behind. After 1-2 km, starting to come to the stream, the terrain is gradually complicated, slopes and big rocks appear. After climbing the slope, I encountered the first big rock with a beautiful view. You should check-in here to get the photos you like. Continue going, the main road is still streams and rocks. I met the 2nd and 3rd giant stones in turn. The Nam Kang Ho Tao road has a lot of repetition, but it is not easy to conquer. I am impressed with the 3rd stone because it is located in a high position, with water pouring down, creating a beautiful scene. After crossing 3 rocks, I immediately met a small waterfall with a cool blue lake. The delegation stopped here to swim, play and continue the journey. I see that those who are weak in this bow will have a hard time. Because the terrain is mainly streams and rocky slopes, it requires you to use your calves to jump continuously. You can overcome it by preparing yourself a support stick, which helps to take power from your hands to support your legs. After a long journey, the group finally reached the campsite. I ended the first day with a barbecue served by Mr. porter. Monday: 6h: The group wakes up quickly for personal hygiene and moves to camp 2. The road is mainly steep, but walking in the cool forest and fresh morning air, you will not feel tired. 8:30: Our group went to camp 2 to eat and rest. 10 am: The group continues to depart. The next road must continuously follow the stream. The boulders appear more often. You will have to jump continuously to go through this journey. After a long journey, we will come to the saddle area, which is an area divided on one side to Lai Chau, the other to Lao Cai. Because the place does not have a shack, if you leave your things, you should arrange them neatly to avoid passersby. Our group rested, had lunch here until 14:00 and continued the journey. I find the road to the top lighter because it has reduced the burden of the backpack. The rest of the road is less difficult, the slope is not too high. Near the top, you will pass through the bamboo forest. Gloves, hats or glasses will make you safer. 16h: The group reached the top of Nam Kang Ho Tao. From here, you can zoom out to see the majestic scenery of the mountains. After resting, taking pictures at the top, the group returned to the junction to leave their belongings at 17:30. The way down is always faster and easier. 18:30: Return to the camp, eat, rest, end day 2. The third day : During the trip, I was quite sad because Nam Kang Ho Tao was not as beautiful as I imagined. However, the last day when returning to Lao Cai was the highlight of this whole trip. 6h: The group wakes up, collects luggage. 7:00 am: The group begins to descend the mountain. This is the time when the sun begins to creep through the leaves, peeking at the stream bank. The scene that appeared before my eyes made me bewildered and tried to go slowly to take a closer look. On the journey down the mountain, you will encounter ancient trees of huge size or slopes like challenging conquerors. The sudden drop in altitude from 1,700 m to 1,400 m can take less than an hour for inexperienced people to conquer. 14h: I go to Den Thang board and move by motorbike to Sa Pa to rest and have dinner. 20h: Me and my companion get on the bus back to Hanoi in the night, ending the journey. Trip cost (2 people) – 2-way sleeper bus ticket / 2 people: 880,000 VND (recommended to book round trip ticket will get 40,000 VND discount) – Ticket to the forest: 500,000 VND/2 people (porter is free) – Food: 1,299 million VND/3 people (including porter) – Porter rental: 1.5 million dong/3 days – Rent a motel for porter to Sa Pa to wait for the delegation: 100,000 VND – Car fare from Den Thang village to Sa Pa: 900,000 VND/3 car – Total cost: about 5.2 million VND/2 people

Since the 17th century, connoisseurs in Sweden have preferred, hunting oysters in this cold area to serve on the king’s banquet tables. Divers hunt for rare oysters in the Swedish icy region Klemming, 31, is one of the few divers in Sweden working in the icy waters, preparing enough diving gear to collect these 11cm-sized oysters. Sitting in the boat, to cope with the cold Swedish weather, the diver fitted a heavy fur cap down over his long hair, wearing thick wool gloves outside. Klemming and her father, also a diver, Peter, anchored the small boat in the shallow water next to a cliff, checking the air tank before jumping into the water. “Oysters Ostrea edulis has a very strong flavor, unlike other oysters. The unique flavor of the oyster can be best paired with ale or a stout,” Lotta Klemming said. After filling a few baskets, the couple boarded a boat, speeding back to the diving house in the village of Grebbestad. Klemming unloaded the oysters and took them on board to a nearby beach to clean and pack them carefully before selling them to restaurants in Stockholm, Gothenburg. Each oyster usually costs about 7 Euro equivalent to more than 190,000 VND. The woman grew up in a village on the coast near the Norwegian border, where her father and uncle worked as a diver. Before that, she had never intended to join the family business. After going to the city, to pursue a fashion career in Gothenburg, she missed this archipelago so much that she decided to return and try diving 6 years ago. “As a young woman today, you grew up in a world full of judgment and you constantly feel, for myself at least, I feel constantly judged,” Lotta Klemming said. But this is really the opposite here, no one will judge me for such looks. ” Klemming revealed she is currently the only woman to dive for oysters in Sweden. Although the epidemic had a huge impact on the business, as oyster restaurants ordered few orders, she had no plans to leave. Standing on Grebbestad’s foggy dock, Klemming says, “What I always wanted to do every week is dive. You can compare this routine to yoga or meditators.”
