Japan is a country with a unique and rich culture. Many foreigners who come to visit will feel ‘culture shock’ before some features of the land of Phu Tang.
 1. The fruit is really delicious, but the price is also “bitter”.

For many countries, the price of fruits in Japan is unbelievably expensive, and not too diverse in terms of quantity. However, foreign guests are impressed by the freshness and quality of vegetables here. One of the most typical examples is the case when Vietnamese lychees are exported here, sold at a rather high price of 500,000 VND/kg, a box of 7 lychees is bought and placed in a very luxurious box. . 2. Japanese people are so easily embarrassed that even if they speak English, they won’t speak! The Japanese have long been known to be shy and timid, but to the extent that they dare not speak English to foreigners is strange. This makes communication quite difficult. “I find it a pity that so few Japanese people speak English to foreigners. I know a lot of people know English, but they don’t speak at all.” One visitor shared. 3. Men don’t pay the entire bill Even in the age of gender equality, it is quite common for men to actively pay for meals. Especially in Latin countries like Mexico, boys often take the initiative to pay, even women will try to convince him to pay anyway. But in Japan, it’s pretty fair when it comes to money. Some even consider being paid by their boyfriends as an insult to their economic situation. 4. Bathing with strangers? Small problem! One of the traditional Japanese customs is bathing in hot springs, and bathing in public baths. For many tourists, bathing with many people at the same time while wearing nothing is quite a sensitive issue. “I can’t get used to bathing with many people at the same time. There is no such culture in my country,” said an Indonesian female tourist.

How do foreigners view Vietnamese cuisine? Let’s find out!
Vietnamese cuisine surprised many foreign visitors. Here, they can find a full breakfast such as pho, broken rice or exotic dishes including blood soup, fried eggs … The Culture Trip – a British travel newspaper reveals 7 things makes the difference of Vietnamese cuisine in the eyes of foreigners.

5 is a special number When enjoying dishes in Vietnam, many foreign visitors are surprised with all the sour, spicy, salty, sweet and bitter flavors. This perfect blend creates the culinary features of this place, making a strong impression on visitors from afar. The typical flavor of each region Vietnam is divided into 3 main regions including North, Central and South. The cuisine of each of these regions also has its own characteristics. In the North, the food is less spicy, preferring pepper over chili. The North is also the birthplace of bun cha, a dish that was enjoyed by former President Barack Obama and the late chef Anthony Bourdain in 2016. Central has very spicy dishes that challenge the taste buds of diners. Meanwhile, Southern dishes are usually sweet. Full breakfast This has surprised many visitors to Vietnam. Vietnamese people tend to get up early and prepare well since it’s not yet morning. Before going to work, everyone can enjoy a bowl of hot pho, stewed soup or broken rice … dishes that are often used in the main meal. Coffee culture Many people believe that coming to Vietnam without trying coffee will be too big a mistake. Visitors can find cafes in almost every street in Vietnam, from popular to expensive. One of the coffee styles suggested by Culture Trip is iced brown. “ The coffee cup is combined with condensed milk and ice. This drink is like a powerful catalyst to stay healthy all day. A few delicious cafes are hidden inside alleys that are difficult to find “, this travel specialist commented. The dessert is liquid and cold Culture Trip advises visitors to enjoy the tea when coming here, especially banana tea. For those who want to eat well and like beautiful photos, 3-color tea is a reasonable choice. Strange dishes According to Culture Trip, the two dishes that most surprised foreigners when coming here are the blood and duck eggs. Blood broth is the main ingredient of fresh animal blood (duck or pig, goat) mixed with fish sauce or salt and then mixed with chopped meat and cartilage. Meanwhile, flipped duck eggs are a big challenge for foreign visitors. Fish sauce Fish sauce is used with many dishes. Visitors can dab vegetables, boiled meat, beans … with fish sauce to make the dish more flavorful. Besides, fish sauce is also used to create the perfect dipping dish for dishes such as spring rolls, bun cha, and banh xeo.

Photo: VNA After a trip to Vietnam, Kara Williams, a former reporter, magazine editor and now a freelance writer, understood clearly why the Southeast Asian nation has become an attractive destination with foreigners, especially retired people like. This American writer talked about his trip to Vietnam and outlined 8 reasons that many foreigners fall in love with the S-shaped country as follows: My first visit to Vietnam last year was miraculous. From the moment my husband and I arrived at the Ho Chi Minh City airport, I was fascinated by the energy of this sweltering urban center, from late night bars to bustling outdoor bars as well as hundreds. the motorcycle stops every time the red light turns on, which requires great courage and fast speed to cross streets with heavy traffic. Then, in the coastal city of Hoi An, I was amazed at the well-preserved AQ and its centuries-old houses, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. We order exotic and delicious food from the night market stalls by pointing at the photo menu, walking the countryside by bike, learning about the rice fields and how to make rice paper, taking a taxi to the beach white sand sea …. This colorful country trip less than a week was too short for us. Before I left Vietnam, I vowed to come back here one day. I remember telling my husband, “You can spend a lot of time here”. I am not alone. With its rich culture, tropical weather, low living standards and many opportunities to visit in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is a popular destination for people to move here. Many retirees are also interested in Vietnam. In fact, Vietnam ranks 10th on International Living magazine’s list of the best places in the world to retire in 2021. Here are the reasons why people consider spending their retirement years in Vietnam. Living expenses International Living magazine points out that Vietnam’s exceptionally low cost of living is a major attraction. In the book In A Better Life for Half the Price (a better life at half the price), author Tim Leffel said, Vietnam is “one of the most valuable places in the world for tourists, especially for tourists. especially in terms of accommodation and food “. Hence, this is a place of great value for the people who live there. Leffel said, when referring to apartments anywhere in Vietnam, “you can find beautiful rooms with reasonable prices in the range of 300-800 USD / month”. Indeed, Neil Varden, CEO of CabinZero who moved from England to Ho Chi Minh City 3 years ago, also said that the cost of living here is very good. “Honestly, I can live like a king without spending a lot of money,” says Varden. Low prices make sightseeing, shopping, and dining in Vietnam more attractive. Immerse yourself in a crowded, affordable restaurant and pay only $ 1 for a cold beer, $ 2 for a sandwich – one of my all-time favorites. Which brings me to … Opportunities to travel Once Vietnam is where you live, going anywhere in Southeast Asia is easy. There is a wide range of flights on low-cost airlines so you can often travel to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia. Traveling in Vietnam is also quite simple, with flights between cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi, plus a system of buses, trains and even ships to the islands. favorably like Phu Quoc. Food Everywhere, not only Vietnamese food is extremely cheap, but also at restaurants. During my trip to Vietnam, we enjoyed all the typical dishes of Hoi An, from bread to white rose cake, tall. We also tried a variety of other dishes, including pho, spring rolls and Vietnamese pizza – which included meat, eggs, and vegetables on a rice paper roll, all folded to taste. Vietnamese black coffee is also great, though I haven’t tried egg coffee yet. I also couldn’t resist the baguettes and rolls of breakfast buffets. If you are a foodie, love to try new dishes and pay a little money, Vietnam will not disappoint you. Human I agree with Neil Varden’s view that Vietnamese people are very friendly. In fact, wherever we go, we meet smiling faces, people willing to help us. I found it to be really true at the hotel we stayed in in Hoi An, where gentle manners and hospitable nature are what the receptionists and restaurant staff always show off. My English speaking tour guide is knowledgeable and happy to answer all my questions about her life in Vietnam. Phil Minett, an Australian, came to Vietnam for a short vacation in March 2020 with the aim of seeing if this could be a place where he could settle permanently. After that, the border was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a year later, Phil was still in Vietnam. While living in a very local 10-story building in Ho Chi Minh City, Phil said he saw the generosity and friendliness of the neighbors around him. Lots of places to live Da Nang seems to be a suitable place for many foreigners, with a series of cafes (with fixed internet), golden beaches, high-rise apartments and beautiful scenery because 3 sides have mountains. around. The south of Da Nang has two world-class golf courses, the further south is the colorful city of Hoi An – where it might be too crowded with some retired people. However, it’s still quite vibrant with many restaurants, cafes, close to many beaches and a slew of tailor-made shops – if tailoring at the right price makes you feel like it. Ho Chi Minh City is an attractive place if you like a historic urban center. The capital Hanoi is located in the north of Vietnam, not as warm as Ho Chi Minh City. Some smaller cities that foreigners can consider are Da Lat, Nha Trang, Vung Tau and Phu Quoc, International Living magazine writes. Weather Vietnam’s monsoon tropical weather also attracts many people, especially those who want to say goodbye to winter in North America. However, this weather is not for everyone. Temperatures in Vietnam can reach 37.7 degrees or more in some regions during the hottest months and humidity is present everywhere in the country. The seasonal climate changes depending on whether you are inland or coastal, north or south. Please see the website of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for more information on weather. History and Culture From ancient temples and pagodas to 20th century war history, Vietnam offers plenty of fun for retirees who want to open their minds to exploring cultural and historical events. in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. There are countless opportunities to take part in cultural tours and classes to learn how to weave a sleeping rug from a dry reed or to trade in a floating market in the Mekong Delta. Museums detail Vietnam’s invaded history and you can even travel through the Cu Chi Tunnels, a hidden underground system. Of course, it is possible to experience the national culture by simply walking through a neighborhood, eating local food, watching families play in the park or watching a show at a local theater. Once again, Vietnam offers you many opportunities to do just that. Development future After retiring, Jefferson Saunders moved to Vietnam in 2016. Before that, Saunders had come to Vietnam many times. Like many others, though attracted by the friendliness of the Vietnamese and the cost of living here, this man is increasingly interested in watching the development between the old and the new. This emerging market has “higher education, better income, internet, more travel with serious investments pouring in”. The 70-year-old and married man said that Vietnam’s major cities now have many Western-style clinics and hospitals. In addition, there are many high-end hotels in the cities. The challenge of living in Vietnam Unlike some other countries, like Mexico, Vietnam does not have a “retirement visa”. So it is difficult for retired people who do not work in Vietnam to stay here for a long time. There are tourist visas that require you to leave Vietnam every 90 days, the rules depend on which country you are in. Then there is a visa category for foreigners working in Vietnamese companies, as well as investment visas for people working in Vietnam or investing in certain companies. “Applying for a visa is not easy because the rules are always changing,” said Neil Varden. Pollution is also an issue in cities in Vietnam, partly due to the flow of cars and motorcycles and limited environmental policies, Leffel writes in A Better Life For Half The Price.

Sharing about the achievements after more than a decade of operating the factory in Dong Nai, Mr. Anup Kumar Dave – General Director of Kirby Southeast Asia Company, proudly: “We have built the Kirby brand in the area. Industry, and beyond, Kirby has cooperated to carry out a wide range of projects from large corporate clients, from multinational corporations to domestic enterprises. build more than 2,000 projects in the region “. Mr. Anup Kumar Dave has repeatedly come to Vietnam for business or travel, but starting in 2009, he really thought about coming here to live and work. At that time, he was in charge of the insulation business. “When I received an offer to work for a business in the building materials industry in Ho Chi Minh City, I immediately said yes because I liked this place. I officially came to Vietnam to work next year. 2011 “. THE SALARY SALARY WITH VIETNAM For a foreigner who first comes to work in Vietnam, encountering unexpected difficulties, or even cultural “shocks”, is unavoidable. However, Mr. Anup adapted very quickly: “There were some small difficulties but it was due to cultural differences and I was able to adapt quite quickly because I had experienced some jobs before. in a multicultural environment “. Ten years working in Vietnam gave Mr. Anup Kumar Dave a new perspective on work and life balance as well as how to improve productivity to achieve efficiency. “We have created an excellent staffing system and have been able to develop a number of markets to improve our business. However, I think that Vietnam still needs good labor law regulations. so that both employers and employees are equal and fair. This will further improve the business environment in Vietnam “, Mr. Anup emphasized. Mr. Anup Kumar Dave – General Director of Kirby Southeast Asia Company In Vietnam, Kirby Southeast Asia has been operating since 2008 with the factory located in Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Zone, Dong Nai province. The company has offices in the city. Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi and Southeast Asian countries to facilitate serving the needs of customers quickly and best not only in Vietnam but also for countries in and outside the region such as Thailand. , Burma, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Brunei and Australia. KIRBY WAY AND HUMAN USE VIEWS In many past conversations, Mr. Anup always emphasized that one of the keys to Kirby’s success in the development process is adhering to the company’s core values and principles – ” Kirby Way ”. The Kirby Way is the driving force behind the company to focus on innovation, train people and empower people to increase engagement, connection and better decision-making for the job. From a human resource perspective, Kirby views employees as a core asset. Mr. Anup believes that organizations and businesses can only succeed if people are given the opportunity to contribute effectively and they work with full energy and enthusiasm. Kirby can only succeed, whether in Vietnam or anywhere, if it has a team of professional staff. When the team is professional, everyone will agree. In order for employees to agree, the company must have clear and commensurate regulations on rights and responsibilities. “I hope that, regardless of position in the company, each employee will get the income they deserve for their efforts,” Mr. Anup said frankly. “Besides, everyone is able to do the right thing to their ability. Make sure that employees are always working in a fair environment,” said Anup. “In the last three years, Kirby Southeast Asia has added more than 50 people every year, when we hire, we look at the attitudes and background knowledge about the job that person applies for. Good attitude, a lack of knowledge can be completely supplemented through the training process.Good attitude is a willingness to learn, take responsibility, take initiative and commit to a collective goal. “, Mr. Anup shared. The Kirby Way is the driving force behind the company to focus on innovation, train people and empower people to strengthen connectivity. From a business perspective, Kirby Way is customer-centric. “We had to change our mindset, go further to help our customers with all the support we could possibly have and even exceed their expectations,” recalled Anup thoughtfully. “There have been a few times when we have been challenged to deal with the increasing needs of our customers and we have succeeded in ensuring that the customer remains a top priority. Because there are customers. Only us, “Mr. Anup said. GENERAL DIRECTOR WITH HEAVY INDUSTRIES Before coming to Vietnam, Mr. Anup worked in India, Africa (Kenya), Europe (Italy) … His experience throughout his career was in the metal industry, Mr. Anup used to be works in hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel and aluminum and steel fabrication industries. Vietnam is the place where he stops the longest and pre-engineered steel is also an area in which he focuses a lot. In his own opinion, he thinks that the steel industry in Vietnam has grown significantly and more than doubled its production capacity within more than 10 years. This remarkable development stems from the ability of local producers to produce world-class quality. “The markets in Southeast Asia are developing but growth in Vietnam has been quite quiet over the past few years. Demand is expected to stabilize in the coming years. Product quality is sure to grow. due to rapid adoption of new production technology by manufacturers in Vietnam. Kirby has two distinct advantages in Vietnam: fixed labor costs and availability of skilled workers, “said Anup. Kumar Dave said. In our business, single-digit margins and high claims “Heavy industry is labor-intensive, the competition is huge and sometimes does not follow ethical principles,” Mr. Anup said, emphasizing: “Our industry supplies materials for operations. Capital construction dynamics are very cost- and time-sensitive, so there is a huge pressure on returns and cash flows due to delayed payments. considered unattractive In our business, single-digit margins and high claims So, higher risks and lower profits. The manager must look for other more efficient opportunities that the employee cannot intuitively understand. ” However, what he sees as his personal strength when working in heavy industry is the associates he works with. “I’m always focused on driving them to learn more and manage their time efficiently. Therefore, we focus on training and empowering employees to be more proactive in their work and commit realism. Currently, Kirby’s overall goal is to become the best pre-engineered steel building supplier in Southeast Asia, ”said Anup his secret to success. Kirby is one of the leading manufacturers of pre-engineered steel (PEB) buildings in the world. As a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries Group, Kirby is one of the few largest privately owned corporations in the Gulf region, with over 40 years of experience in manufacturing and sales in more than 70 countries. world.

People wear masks to prevent COVID-19 infection in Manila, Philippines, on March 20, 2021. Photo: THX / TTXVN The ban began to be enforced on March 20 and was initially expected to be lifted on April 21. However, the Philippines decided to extend the ban for more than a week as the Southeast Asian nation recorded an average of 10,000 new infections a day this week. Accordingly, foreigners are not allowed to enter the Philippines, except for some exceptions such as diplomats, medical staff, sailors working on cargo ships, spouses, children of Filipino citizens. together with them and a number of other humanitarian cases. According to Harry Roque, the Philippine President’s spokesman, the ban does not apply to foreign nationals with a waiver issued by the Philippine Foreign Ministry before March 22. As of April 15, the Philippines recorded a total of 904,285 cases of COVID-19, of which 15,594 were fatal.

Representatives of the Marine Life Rescue Center said it is not uncommon for starfish to die dry when tourists take pictures on the shore.
Recently, on many travel forums, a story of a tourist posting a photo of a dead starfish in Rach Vem (Phu Quoc) due to being taken ashore to take pictures of “virtual life” received many controversial comments. pm. Most of the comments expressed outrage and condemned this ignorant behavior.

According to the owner of the photo, the scene of starfish dying dry, lying on the sand was taken at noon on April 2. Previously, this female tourist and her family were transported by the taxi driver and introduced it as “a beach with many stars and arranged into a heart shape”.

Upon arrival, this visitor was surprised to witness the scene of a dead starfish basking in the sun. This person then took the photo and posted the story on social media.

The photo of dry starfish on the coast of Phu Quoc

Frustrated by the above incident, Mr. Le Chien, representative of Marine Life Rescue Center, said that this situation happened a few years ago, not just recently.

We need to know that starfish play an important role in the ecosystem. People call starfish a key type. Without such a key species, the surrounding ecosystem will collapse.

Starfish has the characteristic of being alive above all temperatures. No matter what environment they live in, they play an important role in that ecosystem, but many people take starfish ashore to take pictures and let them die. This situation has a very low general assessment of Vietnamese people’s consciousness.

“We have many foreign volunteers, sometimes they come to Vietnam to play and meet the scene where Vietnamese people catch sea animals and leave them on the shore, all foreigners have a very offensive impression. jobs on.

However, this work with Vietnamese people is as natural and innocent as meals. That is really sad, expressing the common sense of society “-anh Chien shared.

According to the representative of the Marine Life Rescue Center, people in the countryside or the city when traveling are the same, it is lack of knowledge about the sea.

The story of the starfish is like the story of the coral, really to solve the above problem requires handling sanctions. Although the Marine Life Rescue Center has repeatedly proposed this issue to higher levels, it still cannot solve it because there is no penalty.

Our country needs a penalty to strictly punish violators. If Thai and Filipinos just touch the coral and be photographed, that tourist will be ordered to deport and pay a large fine. However, in Vietnam, there is no force to check.

Bringing starfish to shore and then letting them die for photography is very offensive. (Illustration)

“Summarizing to solve and limit the above things, we have to do in 3 aspects. The first is the community communication aspect by giving scientific knowledge to tourists, especially people. local people.

Only local people who understand, they will work enthusiastically and supervise closely. The second is in terms of education, it is necessary to provide more information about the environment, about marine life and forests in order to make tourists travel for civilization.

Finally, it is imperative to have a sanction against both foreigners and Vietnamese when violating “-anh Chien emphasized.

In addition, the representative of the Marine Life Rescue Center shared more about the current tourism situation in our country.

According to Chien, 90% of tourism businesses make mistakes and put visitors at risk. For example, if you go diving to see coral, they will give you a life jacket, diving goggles, and a breathing tank, that’s absolutely wrong and internationally forbids it. When guests wear life jackets into the water, the body will be difficult to control and even people die in the coral reef because corals cut into arteries.

“When in the water, all the tourists trampling on we must accept and correct mistakes, even go to replant the coral, but will not interfere at that time because it will affect the customer’s lives and of ourselves.

Not to mention that there are many types of corals, some are poisonous and many tourists do not necessarily understand this. The image of starfish dying dry on the shore made many people get up, but looking at the tourist picture of Vietnam, it was really bad, ugly …
