Energy and climate package Triple steps or big litter?

Status: 22.06.2021 4:35 p.m.

Shortly before the summer break, the Union and the SPD agreed on an energy and climate package. It is intended to help achieve the goals of the new Climate Protection Act. According to this, Germany should be greenhouse gas neutral by 2045.

From Martin Polansky, ARD capital studio

Shortly before the end of the legislative period, the Bundestag is due to pass the stricter climate protection law this week. And now the Union and the SPD have agreed on a package with initial measures on how the more ambitious climate targets are to be achieved in the coming years. The chairwoman of the Union in the Bundestag Environment Committee, Anja Weisgerber from the CSU, welcomes the agreement. “It is definitely a clear step forward. And with everything we also pay attention to the effects on the economy, on jobs and people’s acceptance.”

Expansion of renewable energies – with restrictions

The government groups have specifically agreed on additional new wind and solar systems in the coming year, on simplified repowering, in which old wind turbines will be replaced by new and higher ones. CSU environmental expert Weisgerber emphasizes that the effects on species protection and noise emissions should continue to be examined. But simplified approval procedures are necessary in order to expand renewable energies more quickly and thus achieve the climate targets. The agreement also provides financial benefits for communities that provide rural open spaces for solar systems. The Union and the SPD could not agree on a faster increase in the CO2 price or the distribution of CO2 costs between tenants and landlords each half. And solar compulsory for new buildings is also off the table. This was not feasible with the Union, says the deputy SPD parliamentary group leader Matthias Miersch: “We cannot enforce this measure in such a constellation. I believe that the next government must first and foremost conclude a future pact between the federal, state and local governments , which provides for a binding expansion path for renewable energy sources. ”

 06/22/2021

“Repowering” New boost for wind power?

The expansion of wind power has not progressed as planned for years.

Opposition and associations disappointed

Criticism of the resolutions comes from the opposition. The FDP speaks of campaign activism by the Union and the SPD, the Left calls the resolutions a sham campaign. The environmental expert of the Greens, Oliver Krischer, speaks of small, triple steps: “That is not what we need for climate protection. That is politics with our hands in our pockets and not the answer to the climate crisis.”

The BUND and the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband also criticize the resolutions as half-hearted: they are not only unambitious, but there is also no social compensation for tenants, for example. The Bundestag is to adopt the package of measures on Thursday together with the new climate protection law. This provides for Germany to become greenhouse gas neutral in 2045 – five years earlier than previously planned. In addition, the Federal Cabinet wants to launch an eight billion euro immediate program tomorrow to promote investments in the energy transition. However, the immediate program can only be finally adopted by the upcoming Bundestag

The economy in Germany will recover in 2021 after the slump as a result of the pandemic. The unions are now calling for some significant wage increases. Your goals and the collective bargaining agreements for 2021 at a glance. Falling numbers of new corona infections and the progress made in vaccination will lead to an economic recovery in Germany in 2021. The growing global economy supports the demand for goods “Made in Germany”. At the same time, inflation is rising significantly. With their sometimes high demands, the unions want all the more to ensure that the collective bargaining agreements in 2021 do not result in any real wage losses for employees.

In the final match of the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia, the Japanese team did not launch the strongest squad in the absence of Takumi Minamino. However, the attack of “Green Samurai” still showed the benefit with 5 goals.

Ado Onaiwu, on the day given the highest kick opportunity in attack, shined when he scored 3 goals in just 6 minutes. The remaining goals were scored by Sho Sasaki and Takuma Asano. Japan won 5-1, thereby winning all 8 matches in Group F, scoring 46 goals and conceding only 2 times. The Japanese team shows strength in Group F. However, the Kyrgyz defense played hard and kept the score a draw after the first half. The turning point of the match came in the 26th minute when the home team was awarded a penalty because Ayzar Akmatov blocked Ado Onaiwu’s close-range header with his hand. On the 11 m mark, Onaiwu fooled the keeper and scored the opening goal. Onaiwu doubled the lead for Japan in the 31st minute after a close-range ball from Hayao Kawabe’s pass. In the 33rd minute, the 25-year-old striker completed a hat-trick with a dangerous header. In the last minutes of the first half, Mirlan Murzaev brought the goal to shorten the score for Kyrgyzstan when he successfully completed a penalty of 11 meters. In the second half, the home team continued to dominate when holding the ball to 71%. In the 68th minute, Sho Sasaki was given the opportunity to replace Onaiwu. He immediately made an impression with a goal in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute, Takuma Asano filled the scoreboard with a kick into the narrow corner of the goal. The Japanese team won the final with a score of 5-1.

The pandemic initially made Netflix boom. Now comes the hard landing of the streaming provider: Recently, far fewer new users have been enthusiastic about its series and films.

From Angela Göpfert, tagesschau.de In the Netflix series “Bridgerton”, the protagonist Daphne impressed her Queen Charlotte so much that she gave her that important gracious nod of approval. As much as Netflix seemed to be swimming on a wave of success with “Bridgerton” – users and investors have recently shown far less support for Netflix.

Worst quarter in company history expected

This is impressively reflected in the figures for the first quarter that Netflix presented on Tuesday evening after the US market closed: According to this, the number of subscribers rose by four million to almost 208 million at the beginning of the year – two million less than expected. According to the calculations of the streaming service, the current second quarter is likely to develop into the worst quarter in the company’s history: Netflix expects only one million new users worldwide for the months of April to June – more than ever. Wall Street had expected 4.4 million new subscribers so far.

Disney + on the rise

For comparison: In the first quarter of 2020, Netflix was able to score with 15.8 million new users, in the second quarter it was 10.1 million. That was practically at the height of the corona boom, when worldwide lockdowns forced citizens into their own four walls and many mutated into “couch potatoes” for lack of alternatives. But the attractiveness of the series marathon on Netflix has noticeably decreased in the wake of the corona pandemic. This is due on the one hand to pandemic-related production problems and on the other hand to growing competition, especially in the form of Disney +. The Subscription service from entertainment giant Walt Disney has gained more than 100 million subscribers since its launch – and thus already has half as many users as Netflix.

There are again alternatives to the couch

In addition: In some places in the important Netflix home country USA, more leisure activities, even going to the cinema and thus alternatives to being a “couch potato”, are possible again. Against this background, the market for streaming offers appears to be increasingly saturated. Netflix subscriber numbers are a reflection of all of this: starting from the peak in the number of new users in the first quarter of 2020 (15.8 million), things went noticeably downhill: in the second quarter it was 10.1 million, in the third 2.2 million. In the fourth quarter, Netflix made a small interim high of 8.5 million, but without being able to surpass the top value from the first quarter.

Disappointment in the stock market

The new figures for the first quarter and the gloomy forecast for the second quarter should now prove to all those critics who believe that growth has passed its zenith. The figures for sales and profit in the first quarter – 7.2 and 1.7 billion dollars respectively – with which Netflix was able to exceed Wall Street’s expectations, are unlikely to change anything. In any case, investors reacted with disappointment to the numbers: In after-hours US trading, the share fell ten percent to $ 491.50. The stock exchange had already anticipated the disappointing business development in parts: Since July 2020, not much has happened in the Netflix share. For the current year it shows only a meager increase of 1.6 percent, while the market-wide S&P 500 was able to increase ten percent in the same period.

Hope for the Oscar boom

One factor of hope for the streaming giant from Silicon Valley is now the Oscars at the weekend. Netflix is represented there with “Mank”; David Fincher’s homage to classic Hollywood has garnered ten nominations.

The actors Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman in the Netflix movie “Mank”. In addition to “Mank”, other promising films are currently available to stream on Netflix, including “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” with Chadwick Boseman on his last appearance and “The Trial of the Chicago 7”, which tells the true story of a group of demonstrators who had to face a scandalous court case in the USA in 1969 after a war protest that got out of hand. Paramount had sold the court thriller, which was originally scheduled to hit cinemas in autumn 2020, to Netflix because of the pandemic, giving the streaming company six more Oscar hopes. In total, Netflix productions received 35 Oscar nominations this year – more than ever before.

The prize is an opportunity for the Vietnam Women’s Football team to find more forces and prepare for the international playgrounds at the end of the year.

The 2021 Cup will be an opportunity for the Vietnam Women’s Training Board to follow the pillars’ performance and look for new factors. Defending the “queen” AFF Cup and SEA Games 31 are the two top tasks of the Vietnamese women’s team this year, but the most important is still the Asian Championship at the beginning of 2022, which is also the tournament. The girl in red will be responsible for helping Vietnamese women’s football realize the World Cup dream. The importance of tournaments Experts often say that the national team’s performance is the face of football, which is also the most accurate measure of the development of the “king sport” in that country. But in order to have a strong national team, to compete with achievements, there is a huge contribution from the domestic tournaments, from the national championship, the Cup to youth tournaments. It is the same with the Vietnamese Women’s Football team. Over the past time, the national team has won many impressive achievements in the international arena, bringing pride to the fans, and affirming its foothold in the region and the continent. The success of the Vietnamese women’s team in recent years has greatly benefited from the more frequent and open domestic football tournaments. Although the Women’s Cup of the National Cup is only at the third age, it is just as important as the National Championship, along with the youth tournaments held regularly, the professional women’s football system in Vietnam is getting better and better. than. And the biggest beneficiary is undoubtedly the national team. After the success of the 30th SEA Games, Vietnamese women recruited into the task of rejuvenating the force, creating opportunities for more young players to play alongside the experienced pillars. Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the Vietnamese women’s team has rejuvenated for a while and needs to be improved quickly. At the Olympic qualifying for Tokyo 2020, the Vietnam Women’s Training Board has been very successful when giving opportunities to some young players of the National U19 team such as Tuyet Ngan, Van Su or Thu Thuong. By the time the team gathered earlier this year at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Chau Thi Vang or Nguyen Thi Hoa were the young players with the best performance. At the National U19 Championship, which ended at the end of March, the Vietnam Women’s Coaching Board certainly has “pinned” many outstanding factors, including the player of Hanoi, Vu Thi Hoa or the duo. The KS Coal’s is Tran Nhat Lan and Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc. The aforementioned faces will definitely receive a lot of attention from coach Mai Duc Chung and his associates at the National Cup. They will try to show themselves more to find opportunities in the national team. The difficulty increases gradually The ongoing National Cup is an important preparatory step for the Vietnamese women’s team before the team has a general review and review of the forces at the National Championship (kick-off in mid-May) to aim for the year-end tasks. In 2021, women’s football has 3 goals, which is the AFF Cup in August, to October the qualifying round of the 2022 Asian Women’s Football Championship, the 31st SEA Games in December. Asian opponents (the chance of qualifying for Vietnam is very high) will take place in India from January 20 to 6.2.2022, which is also the qualifying round of the 2023 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. It is not difficult to realize that the importance of the above tournaments has gradually increased, so the preparation time after the National Championship ends will certainly be extremely important to teachers and teachers Mai Duc Chung. The World Cup has always been the biggest dream of Vietnamese football, but before thinking about the tournament in India, the Vietnamese female team needs to play well in the playgrounds in 2021, performing one task at a time, step by step. to the highest goal. VFF Standing Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan has affirmed that the highest goal of Vietnamese women’s football is the 2023 Women’s World Cup Qualifier. of Vietnamese football. The World Football Federation (FIFA) has increased the number of teams participating from 24 to 32 at the 2023 World Cup. In addition to 6 official spots, Asia also has 2 play-offs with teams from other regions to compete. The last 3 tickets to the tournament will be in 2023. In addition to host Australia, the 3 official slots will almost certainly belong to Japan, Korea, China, the remaining 2 will be the competition of the teams. with equivalent qualifications are Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan (China), Uzbekistan, Myanmar … “The door has been opened wider, opportunities are clearer, but the competition is also becoming more fierce as a result. The Vietnamese women’s team must be well prepared, step by step implementing the goals in order to grasp this wonderful opportunity, ”said coach Mai Duc Chung.
