Recently, Ha Trung District People’s Committee has implemented a model of linking commercial stuffed snail farming according to the value chain associated with product consumption in Yen Duong commune. After 3 – 4 months of farming, snails reach a commercial snail weight of 25 – 30 pieces/kg, then start harvesting. Use a boat to go around the pond to catch big snails (in the morning) because snails cling to plant leaves, cassava leaves, and duckweed roots to eat, so harvesting is easy… According to the calculations of the households in the model, minus costs, the profit reached 61 million VND/sao (an increase of more than 20 million VND/sao compared to current farming experience). In addition to economic efficiency, the technique of raising stuffed snails is quite simple, the care is not too complicated. The main food for snails is clean and easy-to-grow vegetables, raising stuffed snails has no adverse impact on the ecological environment… Ha Trung district has recently provided technical training for 70 farming households and households wishing to raise stuffed snails to continue replicating in the district, towards building product brands (OCOP). In the early morning, snails often float to the surface, clinging to cassava leaves and duckweed to eat, so farmers can know which areas are more concentrated, avoiding excess or lack of food. Food for snails must be clean, leave the whole plant, leaves, not chopped because snails have the habit of sticking to the surface of the leaves to eat. Only feed concentrates (cereals) once a day. Adjust the amount of food according to the snail’s ability to eat (from 0.5-1% of the snail weight in the pond).

Water is taken from the family drilled well to clean the barn, clean filtered water to ensure the rabbits drink every day. To avoid environmental pollution and disease prevention, he uses a bioga gas tank to treat liquid waste, daily solid waste is collected to fertilize plants at home.

Mr. Hai shared: Time to feed rabbits twice a day in the morning and afternoon, but must be punctual. In addition, feed your rabbits with clean vegetables grown in the garden once a day in the afternoon. The mother rabbit is 28 – 32 days pregnant and needs careful care.

Each year, a mother rabbit breeds 6 litters, each batch from 6-8 children, however, it is necessary to choose 6 healthy animals for commercial farming. Breeding rabbits are produced mainly for breeding the next litter or to be sold to people in need.

To prevent epidemics, Mr. Hai implements a vaccination regime of 4 months, 1 time of vaccination, 1 month of 2 days of medicine to prevent rabbits from scabies and ringworm …

From raising to harvest time is about 4.5 – 5 months, each rabbit individual has an average weight of 2.3 – 2.5 kg / head, parent rabbits are 3.5 – 4 heavier, 0 kg / head; Average selling price is 100 thousand VND / kg, selling 80 thousand VND / kg.
