Preface my country’s railway construction has always been at the forefront of the world’s development. After all, my country is well aware of a truth-“If we want to get rich, we must first build roads.” Development of transportation is an important prerequisite for the development of a place. Only with the development of transportation can the exchanges between various regions be promoted, both going out and welcoming in. Especially for regions that develop tourism, if the transportation is not developed enough, then no one will want to travel here, and the tourism industry will not develop. China Railway is world-renowned my country’s high-speed rail network has always attracted the attention of the world, and people in all countries will also envy our country with such developed transportation, which can complete the distance from south to north in just a few hours. We really should be proud of living in such a country. According to some statistics, as of 2021, my country’s railway mileage ranks second in the world, and my country’s railway construction has always been in the forefront of the world. There are also many cities that hope to build high-speed railways, but these cities’ desire to build high-speed railways may be lost because a series of problems have emerged due to the rapid construction of railways in our country. Therefore, our country has recently made a decision on the problems of high-speed railway construction. Relevant departments of our country have issued a notice stating that they need to rectify the problem of the chaotic construction of high-speed rail and subway. Some areas will not be able to build high-speed rail at present, and some areas that have already built high-speed rail need to limit the speed of high-speed rail. The relevant departments of our country made these decisions on the one hand because some regions in our country did not plan according to the actual situation when planning the construction of high-speed rail. They only knew that the pursuit of high speed would eventually lead to a serious waste of resources. On the other hand, it is aimed at areas that have completed the construction of high-speed rail lines. In some areas, high-speed rail has been built, but there is not enough passenger flow. The ticket price of high-speed rail is low, but the cost of building high-speed rail is expensive. Therefore, the economic pressure on the local government is very heavy, which leads to another problem-the national railway group cannot make ends meet. According to research conducted by relevant institutions, my country’s National Railway Group has already owed nearly six trillion yuan. This amount is shocking. The State Railway Group’s debt situation is unreasonable and even dangerous. Some experts said that if the State Railway Group continues to be in debt, a financial crisis will easily occur, which will endanger the entire country. economic development. Domestic high-speed rail rectification my country’s rectification of high-speed rail construction brooks no delay. The first step to rectify high-speed rail construction is speed limit. Netizens found that the construction of a high-speed rail with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour requires 25 million passengers per year. The Xicheng Railway, which connects Xi’an and Chengdu, has a passenger flow of just over 13 million a year. Only the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Guangzhou lines can meet the requirements, and most of the lines are unable to build a high-speed rail with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The speed limit is because the faster the speed of the high-speed rail, the more money needs to be spent on the maintenance of the high-speed rail, but the construction of the high-speed rail does not need to be speed for the sake of speed. It is more important to build high-speed rail based on actual conditions. In some areas, the pace of life is not fast, and the speed of high-speed rail does not need to be too fast, otherwise it will only waste resources. In addition, it is also very necessary to rectify the scale of high-speed rail construction. Relevant departments have stipulated that if the utilization rate of high-speed rail does not reach 80%, then the area can no longer build high-speed rail. The plan is also to maximize the use of high-speed rail. If the existing high-speed rail cannot be fully utilized, the new high-speed rail will waste money to build high-speed rail, and it will not increase passenger flow to generate revenue. This regulation may cause many areas China’s high-speed rail construction plan is about to fail. In fact, the measures taken this time have already shown signs. According to research, my country’s high-speed rail development has been advancing by leaps and bounds in the past few years. In just five years, the high-speed rail mileage has increased by more than 18,000 kilometers. Surpassing other countries, the development of high-speed rail also embodies my country’s plan to become a science and technology powerhouse. However, we must also realize that the construction of high-speed rail in some areas has not brought prosperity, but has caused a serious imbalance in government revenue and expenditure. Moreover, there is a trend of comparison among some governments, and the construction of high-speed rail is for performance but not for development. The country’s rectification of railway construction this time can provide better conditions for the future development of railway construction, and relevant experts have already regained confidence in my country’s railway construction in this rectification. Moreover, experts predict that after 24 years, my country’s transportation construction will be more reasonable, and the debt problem of the National Railway Group will be resolved. Therefore, the domestic high-speed rail is ushered in “rectification”, in addition to the speed limit required, the scale of high-speed rail construction is also limited. Concluding remarks High-speed rail has important strategic significance in our country. It is a symbol of our country’s national development. The country has always advocated the development of railways. This is the first time that railway construction has slowed down, but this does not mean that this is the stagnation of my country’s railway development. On the contrary, this is a turning point, a rectification for higher development in the future.

Toll station and surrounding roads of Guangyang North Expressway in Guangxi.Photo by Xinhua News Agency reporter Lu Boan

Reporter Qi Hui
Recently, the Ministry of Transport, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Comprehensively Promoting Differential Tolling on Expressways” (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”). All regions will comprehensively promote differentiated tolling on expressways and improve the efficiency of expressway network traffic. , Reduce the cost of expressway travel, and promote the logistics industry to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Whether differentiated charges can reduce high-speed tolls, and how to implement them, has become a hot topic that people are concerned about.
Let “good road” play a bigger role
Since the reform and opening up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, my country’s highway construction has achieved remarkable results. By the end of 2020, my country’s total highway mileage will reach 161,000 kilometers, and the main line of the national highway network will be basically completed, covering about 99% of the urban population. Cities and prefecture-level administrative centers with more than 200,000 yuan.
The rapid development of high-grade highways in my country, especially expressways, has greatly improved the capacity and efficiency of the highway network, met the strong demand of the logistics industry, reduced the comprehensive cost of road transportation time and other costs, and supported the reform and opening up and economic and social health. Rapid development. According to statistics, highways currently carry about 74.3% of the freight volume of the whole society. With 3.4% of the mileage, the expressway bears about 58.2% of the freight volume of the entire road network.
Although it has played a major role, the imbalance of expressways still exists.
Gu Zhifeng, deputy director of the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, said that with the rapid increase in the number of motor vehicles and the rapid increase in passenger flow and logistics, the traffic volume in certain sections and periods of the expressway has exceeded the designed capacity, resulting in slow congestion. At the same time, some related road sections and time periods have relatively little traffic flow, and there are certain road resources that are idle.
For example, some truck drivers for long-distance transportation are more willing to choose national and provincial roads to transport goods because of higher tolls, which increases the pressure on national and provincial roads, idles the traffic resources of the expressway, and pays more for individuals. Time cost, and fuel costs have also increased, which is not conducive to cost reduction and efficiency increase in the logistics industry, and it is also not conducive to energy conservation and emission reduction.
“The differentiated expressway toll is to charge tolls for some vehicles on expressways using different standards, and use price levers to guide the scientific diversion of vehicles such as congested sections and congested periods to achieve staggered travel and further improve the traffic efficiency of the road network. Promote logistics cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.” Gu Zhifeng said.

The “Plan” clarifies the development of differentiated charging in six situations, including road sections, vehicle types (types), time periods, entrances and exits, directions, and payment methods, innovating service models, scientifically and accurately formulating differentiated charging plans, and comprehensively promoting differences The toll collection will allow the public to share more of the dividends of highway reform and development. Will not increase the burden of travel So, after the implementation of differentiated tolls, will some road sections increase tolls? In this regard, Gu Zhifeng said that the purpose of differentiated fees can be summarized in six words: flow adjustment, fee reduction, and efficiency improvement. The “Plan” also makes it clear that when formulating and implementing policies to promote differentiated expressway tolls, all localities must adhere to the principle of based on the current toll standards and the principle of downward differentiation; the current government pricing must be adjusted to guide prices, and existing government pricing must be adjusted to guide prices. Government pricing and charging standards are the upper limit, giving expressway operation and management units a certain degree of autonomy in pricing. Judging from the previous pilot situation, this principle has basically been realized. According to Gu Zhifeng, since 2017, the Ministry of Transport has guided many places to actively explore differentiated charges by time period, road section, and vehicle type in accordance with the actual conditions of the region, and carried out pilot work. For example, Shanxi Province offers a 30% discount on truck tolls from 8 am to 20:00 on 5 road sections including Tianda Expressway, and a 70% discount on truck tolls from 20:00 to 8:00 on the next day; Zhejiang provides Qianjiang Tunnel for passage. A 12% discount on tolls will be implemented for category 5 (5-axle) and category 6 (6-axle and above) trucks. These measures effectively played a role in cutting peaks and filling valleys, balanced the traffic volume of the road network, and did not increase travel costs. According to reports, Hubei Province began a pilot project in June 2018, and introduced measures such as extending the time for preferential tolls for passenger and truck tolls and increasing the margins of preferential tolls for two expressways, reducing logistics costs for enterprises by 600 million yuan each year. “From a practical point of view, the implementation of differentiated expressway tolls has resulted in a balanced distribution of traffic in pilot areas and sections, significantly improved road network operation efficiency, effectively reduced truck transportation costs, and effective protection of the legitimate rights and interests of highway investors, realizing multi-party mutual benefit. A win-win situation.” Gu Zhifeng said. Continuously optimize and improve the long-term mechanism According to Gu Zhifeng, according to the plan, the specific implementation steps of expressway differentiated toll collection are divided into three stages. The first is the plan formulation stage. Before the end of June, local transportation, development and reform and financial authorities will organize and coordinate expressway operation and management units, and on the basis of summing up pilot experience, comprehensive analysis and investigation, selecting qualified expressways, in-depth analysis and calculations, Formulate a differentiated fee plan scientifically and report it to the provincial people’s government for approval in accordance with the law and implement it. The second is the organization and implementation stage. Before the end of September, local transportation, development and reform, and financial authorities will supervise and guide expressway operation and management units, and earnestly organize implementation in accordance with the plan approved by the provincial people’s government, and strengthen dynamic tracking to ensure tangible results . The third is to summarize the evaluation stage. In mid-December, local transportation, development and reform, and financial authorities will organize third-party evaluations based on the implementation status, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the evaluation plan, optimize and improve relevant policies and measures in time, and establish and improve the differentiation of expressways. The long-term fee mechanism forms a summary evaluation report. Experts said that differentiated expressway toll collection is a reform and attempt, and the implementation of the plan will greatly increase the complexity of expressway toll collection. The tolls of different highways are different, and the tolls of different types of vehicles are different, and even the same car passing through the same section of highway will cause different tolls due to different times. Therefore, many experts suggest that, on the one hand, through continuous exploration, measures to local conditions, road conditions, and classified policies, further optimize and refine policies, establish long-term mechanisms, and enhance the effectiveness of policies; at the same time, clearly mark prices. Real-time check, so that highway users, especially car owners who don’t take the highway often, can learn about preferential information in a timely manner

High-speed trains How Deutsche Bahn is planning the future of the ICE

As of: 06/09/2021 7:59 a.m.

Deutsche Bahn is currently expanding its fleet with new fourth generation ICE trains. They should be more reliable, but also slower than their predecessors. What are the future plans for the ICE? By André Kartschall, RBB The ICE fleet of Deutsche Bahn (DB) is growing. Instead of the current 330, 420 high-speed trains are to run within five years. This should connect the big cities in a much closer cycle. At some point, a fleet of 600 ICE trains will be on the move in Germany, according to the vision. “We get a new train every three weeks,” says Berthold Huber, Board Member for Passenger Transport at DB. Deutsche Bahn is currently receiving fourth generation ICE trains. They are more reliable and comfortable and now also have air conditioning systems that can withstand a hot summer. This was not always the case with the predecessors at all outside temperatures. But the ICE 4 also has a special feature: it is slower than its predecessor. He can do a maximum of 250 kilometers per hour. There have also been ICEs that drove more than 300. From August the ICE 4 should be allowed to be released for at least 265 kilometers per hour.

The eternal rival TGV

Deutsche Bahn is relying fully on the ICE in its future strategy. But the limits of what is feasible have long been fixed. For all that is known, the ICE will never be as fast as the French TGV, for example. That is not necessarily due to the train itself. But the ICE cannot shake off the comparison with its French neighbor. While the TGV reaches 320 km / h and speeds through the country without intermediate stops, German ICE trains struggle from city to city, sometimes with stops every half hour. This also increases the travel time. But also the number of people who can easily get on a long-distance train. Germany took a completely different path than France. In principle, nothing should change in that regard. TGVs run on their own tracks that are reserved only for them and have been upgraded to high speed. The ICE has to share the route network with everyone else – and therefore sometimes torment its way through the landscape at 120 km / h. Only special routes for the ICE would really change that. But they are not in sight.

Improvements, not revolutions

In addition, unlike in France, Germany’s major cities and thus the stops are so close together that it would be neither economical nor passenger-friendly to let the trains run at maximum speed. “That is why we in Germany will stay at top speeds of around 300 km / h,” says Huber. The fact that the ICE will have to be said to be slower than its French counterpart in the future cannot be changed, but it is in the nature of things, according to Deutsche Bahn. Two countries with completely different conditions would come to completely different solutions. “Basically, both of them did it right – each for themselves,” says Huber. The planned advances in Germany are of a rather minor nature: accessibility for wheelchair users, bicycle compartments, a better room layout for passengers and just a few km / h more at top speed should bring the next few years.

In the next generation up to 300 km / h

The travel time should not have a significant impact on all of this – and thus also not the competitiveness with the aircraft. After all: the fourth generation should be followed by a faster one – a further development of the predecessor. The ICE 3neo is said to be capable of speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour, roughly as much as the original third generation. However, the German route network is only permitted up to 300 km / h at its fastest points.

Chinese people like to travel to Russia, some like exotic customs, and some are looking for old Soviet feelings, so much so that Russian-speaking grandfathers and aunts were once active in every carriage of the K3/4 international train. Yes, in that fiery age, people were learning Russian instead of English.

Statistics show that in 2019, 1.9 million Chinese tourists came to Russia. This number ranks third in terms of inbound tourists to Russia, second only to Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

There are many interesting things to travel to Russia. A long time ago, I heard people say that Russian high-speed rail attendants charge tips. At that time, I felt very strange, wondering how the aunts and grandpas who lined up to get cheap rice and eggs would give them so easily.

But when we came to Russia, we really “consciously” paid the tips. Let me talk about the process in detail:

First of all, Russia also has high-speed rail.

The name of the Russian high-speed rail is “Сапсан”, which means peregrine falcon, commonly known as duck tiger. There are currently only two routes: one is from Moscow to St. Petersburg, and the other is from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod.

We took the line from Moscow to St. Petersburg, which was put into use in December 2009. The whole journey was less than 1,000 kilometers, and it took nearly 4 hours to calculate the 250 kilometers per hour. Here, it can only be regarded as the level of high-speed trains, not high-speed rail at all.

Secondly, the train is good and the rail is poor. Objectively speaking, the high-speed rail locomotive made in Russia is still good. The tour guide said that it was imported from Siemens, Germany. Each row is composed of 10 groups, worth more than 800 million euros, and can operate at -40°C to +40° Normal driving within the temperature range of C.

The tour guide said that, not only did we think of the K3 international train that we took from Beijing to Moscow, it also seemed to be made in Germany. It has been imported from 1995 to today, and it has been running for 26 years, and the quality has nothing to say.

Why not buy China’s high-speed rail? We asked the tour guide and she said seriously: We know that China’s high-speed rail is very good, but we need to lay special tracks. We are poor and have no money.

In the subsequent itinerary, we finally learned the meaning of the tour guide’s sentence: Russia’s high-speed rail was too shaken and the noise was particularly loud. This Siemens locomotive runs at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour on a traditional ordinary line, not our dedicated ballastless track.

What’s more interesting is that Russia’s high-speed rail slows, express, and high-speed trains are mixed, and the speed can’t go up at all.

Again, “consciously” tip.

The flight attendants don’t want a lot of tips, 10 yuan, and they charge RMB. Everyone will be unhappy if you pay extra, but you can’t stand the sweetness of the pretty tour guide. The tour guide is 26 years old and his surname is Smirnov. She explained that it means “modest”. In order to facilitate memory, we later called him a modest guide.

When we were on the bus at the railway station, Mr. Qian told us about tipping, saying that it was a “local custom” and that the money was not much. It could show the generosity and wealth of Chinese tourists, and it could also make everyone Each tourist enjoys better service. I don’t know if I did my homework ahead of time, but the aunts and uncles who came with me also actively agreed.

When we got on the bus, the flight attendant was standing by the door. Although the facial features were very three-dimensional and they were pretty good-looking, we could tell from the body that we were married. Later, I saw a few more and discovered that it seems that the Russian high-speed train attendants are all married.

Soon after the train started, the tall and magnificent flight attendants came, first smiled at everyone, and then said four words in somewhat awkward Mandarin: “Hello, tip”, and then tipped them one by one.

We found that the three aunts in the same group were very happy to pay for the money, and took the flight attendant to take a group photo with the scissor hands. There are even more unexpected discoveries: There are not only Chinese tourists in the carriage, but the flight attendant sister seems to be eye-catching, even if the Chinese tourists want to tip. We were puzzled.

After paying the tip, I got better service. The train drove for about an hour, and the flight attendant sister came over and asked us through the tour guide if we need to go to the bar for a drink.

Of course we will go. A very elegant dining car with a dozen seats. You can drink or drink liquor. Of course, it costs money. You can also have a box lunch, sit by the window, and eat quietly while watching the scenery.

In other words, the Russian high-speed rail box lunch is cheaper than us, ranging from 250 rubles to 500 rubles, which is about 20 to 50 yuan. Staple foods include rice, noodles, bread, etc. Green vegetables include cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, etc. The most affordable meats are grilled chicken, sausages and other meats.

Finally, we want to add that at the station in St. Petersburg, according to the previous process, we usually go to the toilet. It is not convenient to add an attraction. However, at the door of the toilet, there was a big sign with 30 rubles per person written in English. Seeing that it was English, not Chinese characters, we felt a little more balanced, but we didn’t go in and turned away.

At the beginning of the 21st century, China didn’t have any high-speed railways, just slow and often annoying trains on long journeys. However, today the country with the largest population in the world has the largest high-speed rail network in the world. High-speed rail networks are crisscrossed, of which half of the project was completed after just five years of construction.

Illustration. Source: CNN With a maximum speed of 350km/h, China’s high-speed railway will meet the needs of many intercity travel routes, creating favorable travel conditions for passengers. As of 2020, 75% of Chinese cities already have high-speed rail. Symbol of economic power quyền China’s ambition is to turn high-speed rail into a model for long-distance travel in the country. However, the birth of the country’s current massive rail network takes on much greater significance. Like Japan’s Shinkansen in the 1960s, China’s high-speed rail network is being viewed as a symbol of economic power, rapid modernization, growing technological prowess, and prosperity. prosperity of the country. Currently, high-speed rail is a powerful instrument of social cohesion, political influence and regional integration between cultures. “The construction of new railway lines is part of President Xi Jinping’s grand plan to promote integration into the vast national market,” said Dr. SOAS) of the University of London said. This move shows that China is repeating the history of promoting high-speed rail networks, before many early railway lines in North America and Europe have done so. The development of railway networks in Russia, France, Great Britain and several other countries has been strongly influenced by political and military needs. “China has created a high-speed rail network on an unprecedented scale in history, which is forecast to be faster and certainly more reliable than China’s domestic flights. New stations and incredible travel routes are the highlight of this program. All tickets must be booked in advance and passengers only need to scan their ID card or passport at the ticket gates,” the travel expert said. railroad Mark Smith emphasized. China initially thought of choosing high-speed technology imported from Europe and Japan to establish a high-speed rail network. “Global railway engineering giants” such as Bombardier, Alstom and Mitsubishi are all keen to promote the cooperation program because of the potential size of the new market and the ambitious plan that China is targeting through the project. this. However, over the past decade, China’s domestic companies have developed into world leaders in high-speed train technology and engineering. Therefore, the mobilization of the available potential is considered a certain success of China in this field. The enormous scale and dramatic changes in topography, geology and climate posed many challenges during the implementation of this project. From Harbin to the Lanzhou-Urumqi route across the Gobi desert, Chinese engineers had to spend a lot of effort to be able to design suitable weather terrain to meet quality standards for the road route. iron across. High-tech simulation efficiency Chinese companies are among the world leaders in introducing new technology such as autonomous (unmanned) train operations and advanced navigation technology. Passengers board the high-speed train.
The Can Tho – Con Dao high-speed train route is put into operation again On April 19, information from the Can Tho Maritime Administration said that the Can Tho – Con Dao high-speed train route will officially come into operation from April 21. Accordingly, the Can Tho – Con Dao high-speed train route and vice versa will be exploited by Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company. In the immediate future, Mai Linh Express train will operate 2 trips per day (Can Tho – Con Dao and vice versa). The ship will depart from Ninh Kieu Tourist Port (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) to Ben Dam Port (Con Dao District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province). Mai Linh Express high-speed train is a 2-hull ship with a capacity of about 300 seats, the journey from Can Tho – Con Dao is nearly 200km, the ship will take about 3.5 hours to 4.5 hours to travel each way. and so. This is an important waterway, helping to create favorable conditions for people and tourists to access a new, convenient and cheap mode of transport from the mainland to the island compared to traveling by plane. Previously, the Can Tho – Con Dao high-speed train route operated by Phu Quoc High-speed Train Joint Stock Company had to stop operating from the end of August 2020. The reason was due to the reaction of the people living. along the Hau River. People believe that when the boat ran, it created big waves that caused landslides on both sides of the river and affected fishing activities and small vehicles on the river. Can Tho – Con Dao expressway will run on Dinh An channel Regarding this issue, a representative of Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company said: After receiving comments from the Traffic Safety Board of Can Tho City, the National Traffic Safety Board, as well as localities, the company decided to operate with small-engine vessels. Specifically, Mai Linh Tay Do operates trains with a capacity of about 300 guests instead of 600 guests and only uses 2-engine trains instead of 4-engine trains, in order to limit the waves generated when the train runs. At the same time, from the proposal of the Can Tho Port Authority, Mai Linh Tay Do chose to go through Dinh An channel and then to the sea instead of going on Tran De channel. The reason is that Tran De channel has a small riverbed, many people’s activities such as fish farming, fishing… Besides, in order not to affect the people living on both sides of the river, instead of the ship going 32 knots (about 60km/h), the ship will reduce the speed to only 17 knots in the Hau river area (equivalent to about 60 km/h). about 30km/h) to limit wave generation. In addition, the unit will coordinate with localities to notify people about the time frame for the train to pass so that people using small vehicles that are not eligible to travel on the maritime channel will limit travel. A representative of the Can Tho Port Authority said: The Mai Linh ship’s operation on the Hau River maritime route through Dinh An channel is completely in accordance with regulations. Besides, it is against the current regulations of the people to close the sign, close the bottom, drop the net, etc. on the navigational channel, which is against the current regulations, including the use of small vehicles, which do not ensure safety factors. will also not be allowed to participate in maritime traffic. In the coming time, Can Tho Maritime Administration will continue to coordinate with localities to propagate to people about this.

There are obvious differences in fares for rail and trams in Southeast Asian countries and many European countries.

How is the fare of the train tickets of countries?

Singapore Urban Railway consists of two train systems, the rapid-run MRT, for the main transport links and the LRT for short-distance travel. However, Singaporeans often refer to these two systems collectively as the MRT.

Singapore MRT was inaugurated and operated the first line in 1987, now becoming the second most popular means of transportation in the lion island nation, only after buses. This system is serving more than 3 billion passengers per year and is still being upgraded and expanded.

MRT fares in Singapore are quite cheap. For adults, the price will depend on the length of the trip, falling in the range of 0.42 USD-1.67 USD (9,000 VND – 38,000 VND).

The MRT is the second most popular means of transportation in Singapore, behind only buses. (Photo: Straits Times)

In Thailand’s capital Bangkok, the elevated railway (BTS) is popular with the people. BTS has been in use since 1999. Currently it is still being extended to serve the travel needs of people.

Buying tickets and queuing up on the train is quite simple, ticket prices range from 15 baht to 45 baht (equivalent to 10,000 – 30,000 VND) depending on the destination is the station far or near.

In operation from March 2019, the MRT system worth $ 3 billion is considered one of the effective solutions to alleviate the serious traffic congestion in the capital Jakarta.

The train speed is 80km / h for the aboveground section and 100km / h for the underground section. This MRT system can transport up to 130,000 passengers per day.

Ticket prices range from 3,000 rp – 14,000 rp (4,000 VND – 22,000 VND).

In Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), there are 3 main urban railway lines in Kuala Lumpur including LRT – a type of tram with 2 main lines: LRT Kelana Jaya and LRT Ampang Line. KL Monorail is a monorail monorail with a distance of 8.6 km, running through 11 stations. The other is the KTM Komuter, a train that connects towns on the outskirts of the city.

Although the travel distance is quite short, KL Monorail is the most popular in Kuala Lumpur because of its good connection with major hotels, crowded residential areas and commercial centers, famous tourist destinations of the city.

KL Monorail ticket price ranges from 1.2-2.5 ringgit (7,000 – 14,000 VND).

In China, subways are common in most cities. The cramped train system is also considered the traffic backbone of the nation of billions of people.

The price of trams in China is similar to that of a bus, from 0.3-0.6 USD (7,000-14,000 VND) for most routes. With long routes such as the airport, the fare will be higher, about 1 USD (more than 23,000 VND).

In Europe, the Polish capital Warsaw is one of the cities using a unique train system – running in the middle of the road.

Fares have many levels, by minute, by number of times, by day or by month. Minimum 3 zloty (nearly 20,000 VND).

London Metro is the oldest subway system in the world, over 100 years old. There are 6 main train lines in London and fares vary by region. The cost for each journey ranges from 5.5-6 pounds (175,000-190,000 VND). Fares are reduced by more than half if using an Oyster card.

In Paris (France), if traveling by subway, the fare for each journey is about 60,000 VND. With the train lines running across the region, the fare will depend on each specific route.

Is Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway expensive or cheap?

According to Mr. Vu Hong Truong – General Director of Hanoi Metro, which operates the Cat Linh – Ha Dong overhead railway, after receiving all from the Ministry of Transport and putting it into commercial operation, passengers will Get free for the first 15 days to experience. After 15 free days, the price of the train ticket to Cat Linh – Ha Dong is expected to be 7,000 -15,000 VND / ticket / one way. Before this information, many people believe that the fare is not reasonable.

However, responding to VTC News, Mr. Bui Danh Lien – Chairman of the Hanoi Transport Association said that such fare is completely appropriate. According to Mr. Lien, the project Cat Linh – Ha Dong invested a lot of capital, so it was necessary to recover the capital. Therefore, the ticket price of 7,000 -15,000 VND / ticket / one way is moderate, “neither expensive nor cheap”.

Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway.

“It is impossible to compare the fare of railway with other countries in Southeast Asia, because each country will have a different level of development, the per capita income will also be different. That is very lame. The transport system in the countries of the world is invested very carefully, from quality to service, point down has many advantages, closely linked system “, Mr. Lien informed.

Sharing the same opinion with Mr. Lien, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former Chairman of Vietnam Automobile Transport Association commented: “Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway ticket price ranges from 7,000 -15,000 VND / ticket / one way is too cheap”.

Mr. Thanh also said that with the appropriate expected price, the Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway will have many users.

“In the countries of Southeast Asia or Europe, the prices for train tickets are adjusted appropriately. I hope that the Cat Linh – Ha Dong overhead railway in Vietnam will have an elevator service. for customers to easily move by “Mr. Thanh commented.

Proposing some solutions to attract tourists for the Cat Linh – Ha Dong overhead railway, Mr. Lien proposed: “To attract people to ride the overhead train, the State needs to have support policies for special people. For example, ticket exemption policies for people over 60 years old, and reduced fees for students. members, free tickets for people with disabilities ”

Currently, the Ministry of Transport is doing the procedures to hand over the Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway project to Hanoi as quickly as possible, in April 2021 it will be completed to be able to operate commercially in May. .
