Ganhaizi . Plateau Ganhaizi is a plateau grassland, about 5km2 wide on the east side of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. This place is the main tourist center of Ngoc Long Tuyet Son tourist area. Thanks to its flat terrain, Ganhaizi grassland is a place to provide food, accommodation, entertainment and souvenir shopping for tourists. It also has the longest tunnel in the world, the highest in Asia and is also the only place with a golf course at the foot of the snowy mountains. Yunshanping (Yunshanping) Van Son Binh, also known as the Land of Music, is an alpine meadow located at an altitude of 3,240m above sea level with an area of about 0.5km2. This is a gathering place for many young people who are ethnic minorities who come to sing and perform folk dances. This is also a favorite place to take wedding photos because of its beautiful scenery. The color of the flowers and grass on the ground combined with the blue highland sky, the scenery of the snowy mountains in the background make for great photos. Glacier Park (Glacier) There are 19 modern glaciers on the Jade Dragon snow mountain, forming a series of ice towers and a Glacier Park located at an altitude of 4,680m above sea level. The glacier park also has caves eroded by glaciers and is a relic of the Quaternary period. Tourists can admire the glaciers formed more than 40,000 years ago when the snow gradually melted. Maoniuping Village Maoniuping village located in the north of Lijiang is an interesting place for you to explore the local culture here. When coming to this village with an area of about 16.6km2, people have the feeling of being back in time. Villagers still live mainly by raising cattle in the traditional grazing way. Most of the cultural customs as well as the traditional living atmosphere are still well preserved here. Many tourists choose to stay in the village as an escape from the noisy city life. Yak cow field at an altitude of more than 3,000m is also one of the unique features of this place.

Wild animals in addition to their familiar images of aggression and ferocity, they also have very ‘life’ moments that we do not always have the opportunity to admire.
Wildlife photographer Lewis Kemper, on a trip to Lake Clark National Park, located in the southwestern state of Alaska, USA, captured the adorable moment of a couple of cubs.

This is a place to visit that attracts tourists because of its wild beauty and diversity of flora and fauna because it is nestled around the majestic Chigmit mountain range. Here is Lake Clark which is the oldest and largest in the Chigmit Mountains area. Lake Clark is the most important breeding ground for North American salmon. Lake Clark Park is also known for its diverse geology including jagged peaks, granite peaks, dozens of glaciers, and hundreds of waterfalls. Because of the abundance of salmon, Lake Clark is a favorite destination for grizzly bears. Every July – September, the breeding season of salmon, a lot of bears will gather in this place to hunt. Bear cubs are taken by their mother to hunt. Photo: Lewis Kemper. Appearing in the right hunting season for bears, photographer Kemper captured the photo of his life. Mr. Kemper said, while guiding a group of friends who are all photography enthusiasts around Lake Clark, he discovered a family of bears including a mother bear and her two cubs catching salmon. Perhaps accustomed to the appearance of humans in the area, when Kemper approached to take pictures of the two cubs, he was still carefree, relaxed, not bothered. Dip it in water to cool it down, but the cubs still can’t find food by themselves. Photo: Lewis Kemper. According to the photographer’s observation, while waiting for the mother bear to bring something to eat, the two cubs were too nervous and held each other’s hands for about 20 seconds. Immediately, Kemper “captured” those valuable moments. Contrary to the photographer’s “sweet fruit”, although sincerely waiting for the mother bear, as a result, the bear family still did not earn anything to put in their stomach. Wildlife experts say grizzly bears’ hunting success rate is relatively low, only about 10%. Eagerly holding hands to wait for the mother bear to bring back food. Photo: Lewis Kemper. “Everyone knows that a bear’s favorite food is fish, but not everyone knows that bears are omnivores, their main food is plants and grasses,” Mr Kemper added. Bears aren’t the first animals to get pictures of holding hands, showing genuine affection. Earlier, a couple took the famous photo of two penguins holding hands on a beach in South Africa. That magical moment moved millions of people on earth.

A new study shows that strange circular features on a flat region called Arcadia Planitia on Mars bear a striking resemblance to the ice flows inside the Antarctic ice sheets.

Photos taken on Mars show many features similar to the glaciers in Antarctica. If these covered glaciers do, in fact, exist, they could be a reason to direct future Mars rovers towards this region. This location is inherently attractive to SpaceX and NASA because it is a wide, flat plain that is ideal for landing spacecraft. If there was ice not too deep below the surface, astronauts could also easily have a source of water within reach. Lead researcher Shannon Hibbard, a doctoral student at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, said the newly discovered flow-like features are very strange because they appear on flat terrain. “There’s a lot of evidence that this is an ice-rich area, but we don’t have any confidence that there could be a glacier in places with tortuous features,” said Hibbard. this. They’re existing in a pretty flat plane, so that’s odd.” Mysterious terrain Arcadia Planitia is located in the northern lowlands of Mars. Over the past 3 billion years, lava flows have been active over this area, so it is much less prone to crater cracking than other areas of the planet. Data collected from orbit over many years shows that the ground in the region is rich in hydrogen. Because water is made of hydrogen and oxygen molecules, this hydrogen indicates the presence of ice just below the surface. For decades, scientists have noticed features on Mars that are associated with ice. Along the low hills, there are debris that looks like the flow of a glacier covered in a thin layer of rock. There are also veins in seagulls that look similar to glaciers flowing through valleys on Earth. Similar features also occur in Arcadia Planitia, says Hibbard. Lobate features occur near a set of mountains known as the Montes Erebus that rise from the plain. Images taken from orbit, thermal data showing the surface’s temperature during both day and night, albedo data showing the surface reflectance, dust cover information and altitude data, and topographic. glacial flow The tortuous features are a big mystery because they look like they were created by the flow of ice, but the terrain isn’t steep enough to explain why the ice moves, says Hibbard. “We had to try to figure out what they are, why do they have thermal symbols, why are they so bright all day and night, why do they have flow characteristics, why are they threaded?” she said. Analysis shows that these features are in fact ice-derived. The undulating shapes look similar to other features associated with slow-moving matter found on Mars, Hibbard said, and the data suggests that these spots are indeed rich in ice. The most similar-looking sinusoidal feature, says Hibbard, is the ice flows inside the Earth’s ice sheets, which are mainly found in Antarctica. These faster-moving ice flows are not well understood on Earth, much less Mars, Hibbard says, but they represent an example of ice flowing in fairly flat terrain. This is a controversial claim, says Hibbard, because most of Earth’s ice streams need at least a thin layer of liquid water at their bottoms to lubricate their flow. It’s not clear if water under the ice exists or ever existed on Mars, she said, and it’s not clear whether a wet background is needed to create ice flows on the Red Planet. One possibility could be that in the past, when Mars’ orbit was tilted differently than it is today and its climate was different, sub-glacial melting may have occurred. The study is published in the May issue of the journal Icarus.

There are very few places in the world where a week-long vacation ranges from runway activities and hot springs to gazing at volcanic lava. Iceland is the country that meets all of that, the unique combination of two natural elements is a highlight that attracts travelers around the globe.

(Photo: Internet) (Photo: Internet) Iceland belongs to the Arctic Circle, made up of volcanoes belonging to an active submarine volcanic ridge. Besides glaciers, icebergs, Iceland also has many volcanoes, hot springs and huge geothermal resources due to its location on the Atlantic volcanic belt. According to Reference, it is because there are glaciers and volcanoes together that Iceland is called the land of fire and ice. (Photo: Internet) (Photo: Internet) The center of the island is an extremely cold highland area, almost uninhabited. More than three hundred thousand Icelanders live mainly on the coast, of which nearly half are concentrated in the capital Reykjavík. The capital is more than a thousand years old and Reykjavík means Smoky Bay. (Photo: Internet) As the name suggests, this city is a bit dreamy, a bit ancient and most of the architecture is simple and small. Icelanders do not need massive buildings because the magnificent nature here is enough to make anyone overwhelmed. In addition to ice and snow specialties, there are also countless beautiful waterfalls. If you come here in the summer, the best way to explore this beautiful land is to rent a self-drive car along the Ring Road. This route has a total length of 1,322km, surrounding the island and connecting most of the main city, so of course it runs through most of the main attractions, freely roaming around. In the evening, visitors can rent a hotel or bring a tent ready for camping. (Photo: Internet) Along this road, there are many fully equipped campsites, with a kitchen for you to cook for yourself, a full bathroom and toilet. Therefore, the most economical way is to bring tents and buy ready-made food at supermarkets. Although it is summer, the temperature is still quite low, so you still need to bring some warm clothes. The weather is also quite erratic, it can rain when it’s sunny, then it’s sunny again, so you can enjoy the rainbow. There are times when sitting by the waterfall, if you are lucky, you can see a double rainbow. (Photo: Internet) (Photo: Internet) Ring Road is considered very beautiful, so even sitting in the car, you can enjoy the scenery without getting bored, turn on the music and chill. Once you come here and experience driving along the roads in Iceland, it will be an unforgettable memory of your youth.

Located deep inside the Kanas Nature Reserve in the Altay Mountains, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China, a special bookstore was opened in the middle of a forest surrounded by mountains, in order to spread the reading culture to a large number of people. Locals as well as tourists want to learn about this mysterious land.

A bookstore with a cute name “Fox” (Fox), owned by an elderly woman, was opened nearly ten years ago. The bookstore owner is also a local, born in Kha Kha Thac Hai (Keketuohai) in the Altay Mountains, with a special interest in painting and books: “It’s been eight years since the bookstore opened. The scenery here is ideal for us humans to enjoy, and Kanas is like the kingdom of all animals. I think it’s great to name my bookstore Fox. Tourists come here no matter how they pronounce my bookstore name, as long as they remember it. At first this bookstore was also quite modest, now it is full of books. All the materials to decorate the bookstore are purely local products. For example, this is a basket people here are used to knead dough, but I like to use it to store paint.” Many people are curious to wonder if this small bookstore located in a desolate place like this will work effectively, or who will come here to buy books when online retail platforms like Taobao and Dangdang are being sold. more and more blooming, with special promotions, shocking book discounts. But according to the owner, she opened this small bookstore for a very simple purpose, which is to “beautify” this fascinating land. Another reason is to help connect with more travelers: “I used to help kids write their first handwritten letters here, or at this same bookstore many newlyweds write their first love letters. It brings many good memories of Kanas to tourists.” Kanas in Mongolian means beautiful, rich and mysterious. This reserve is famous for its beautiful natural ecological system made up of rivers, lakes, forests and grasslands. Notable is Lake Kanas, derived from the glacier of the same name on Mount Atlay.

Google Earth desktop and mobile time lapse is now available worldwide. PHOTO: GOOGLE. Google Earth users can see the dreadful impact climate change has had over the past four decades. Google’s latest feature, Timelapse, is an eye-opening engineering marvel that provides visual evidence of how Earth has changed due to climate change and human behavior. This tool takes a static image of the platform and transforms it into a dynamic 4D experience, allowing users to click through the timeline highlighting melted ice caps, receding glaciers, massive urban growth, and the impact of forest fires on agriculture. Google says it took two million processing hours on thousands of machines in Google Cloud to compile 24 million satellite photos, 800 videos captured and recorded between 1984 and 2020 on Timelapse. The company has worked with NASA, the US Geological Survey’s Landsat program, the European Union’s Copernicus program and Sentinel satellites, and the Carnegie Mellon University CREATE Laboratory, to help develop the technology. Satellite images taken of Dubai in 2002 and 2020. Source: GOOGLE. To explore Timelapse in Google Earth, a user can type any location into the search bar to see the location in motion, whether it’s a landmark or a neighborhood where they grew up. Google says it has removed elements such as clouds and shadows from images, and has calculated a single pixel for every location on Earth annually since 1984; put them together into one Timelapse video. Google Earth’s Timelapse tool shows the changing coastlines, the dramatic expansion of the cityscape and agricultural land, as well as the simultaneous degradation of glaciers, forests, and rivers. Through Timelapse one can see the coast of Cape Cod gradually shifting south, the development of agriculture in the middle of the desert in Al Jowf, Saudi Arabia and the development of Songdo beach, a beach. man-made in Busan, Korea. “Visual evidence can get to the core of a debate in a way that words cannot convey complex issues to people,” said Rebecca Moore, director of Google Earth. Google has also made guided tours through its Voyager storytelling platform, around some of the broader changes seen in the image. Satellite images show the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan in 1988 and 2006. Source: GOOGLE. Google said it hopes governments, researchers, journalists, teachers, and advocates will analyze their images, identity trends, and share their findings. “We invite everyone to use Timelapse and share it with others,” Ms. Moore said: “We invite everyone to use Timelapse and share it with others. Timelapse in Google Earth is a miniature to gauge the health and well-being of our single home and a tool that can educate and inspire action “. Climate change is causing frequent and more severe floods, droughts, storms and heat waves as global average temperatures rise to new record levels. Scientists have warned that an increase in global greenhouse gas emissions could lead to extreme weather conditions and higher risks from natural disasters. While the new tool can help raise awareness about our current climate crisis, a bigger challenge is translating that perception into action. Dr Jennifer Marlon, an environmental science researcher at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communications, said: “There is a large number of people who still believe that human activity cannot change the entire planet. . Those people probably won’t surf on Google Earth. But maybe their kids will watch at school and take them home telling their parents, “Mom and dad, look at this.” Google Earth’s time lapse is now available worldwide.
