A good two million people applied for the long-term study on the unconditional basic income. 122 of them will now receive 1200 euros a month for three years – and thus become research objects.

From Kerstin Breinig, rbb Out of curiosity, Jeremy Scheibe applied for the Unconditional Basic Income (UBI). The 28-year-old didn’t believe that the lot could really hit him. But since April he has been receiving 1000 euros a month – for a year. For him it is a nice security, as he says himself, and a good way to repay the student loan debt. Like Jeremy Scheibe, more than 800 people have received a basic income from Mein Grundeinkommen since 2014 and have used it to finance self-employment, travel, training or simply a financially more relaxed life. The money comes from private donors. Now the effect of the BGE in Germany is to be scientifically researched for the first time. More than two million people applied for this long-term study – 122 of them will now receive 1200 euros a month for three years. However, this time the participants have to meet one condition: fill out a questionnaire every six months.

Social hammock or creative incentive?

Half of Germans support the UBI, the other half categorically reject it. In the end, the opponents saw themselves confirmed. A Finnish study, in which the unemployed received an unconditional monthly income, found that the participants were happier, but mostly still unemployed. Grist to the mill of those who fundamentally assume that any incentive to work would cease to exist with a basic income. So couch instead of productivity. The new study therefore includes a control group in addition to the 122 basic income recipients. For this purpose, singles between 21 and 40 were selected who had the same characteristics and life situations as possible, quasi statistical twins.

More courageous decisions in working life?

“We wanted to target the middle of society and also provide people with such a basic income who have completed their training and are at the beginning of their career and family education,” says Jürgen Schupp from the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). In the next three years, the researchers want to find out how money is changing people. “Do these people develop more common sense now, does it perhaps lead to less burnout, do they perhaps also make more courageous decisions in their working life?” These are the questions Schupp hopes for answers. The initiators of “My Basic Income” want to prove that their idea is the right one. Michael Bohmeyer initiated the project. He wants to convince everyone with the pilot study. He believes that people will continue to do fulfilling jobs, but will become more creative and more charitable. “The debate has been full of ideological beliefs for decades. We believe that practical examples are now needed so that the debate can be conducted in a substantive manner and we can get one step closer to the introduction,” hopes Bohmeyer.

<img fifu-featured="1" decoding="async" class="ts-image js-image" src="https://www.tagesschau.de/multimedia/bilder/grundeinkommen-105~_v-videowebl.jpg" alt="" title=""My Basic Income" association, is standing at a symbolic ATM with the Reichstag building in the background. | dpa' title='Michael Bohmeyer, initiator of the "My Basic Income" association, is standing at a symbolic ATM with the Reichstag building in the background. | dpa'> The symbol for the pilot project: an ATM in front of the Reichstag building. Michael Bohmeyer believes in the success of the idea. Image: dpa

Financing? Not clear

But there are still many unanswered questions. On the other hand, Professor Dominik Enste from the IW Cologne reckons that 1000 euros a month for everyone would mean one trillion euros a year that anyone would have to pay. “We have had a successful social system based on give and take for 70 years.” For him, the UBI is a utopia that must fail because of reality. “People don’t like to give without something in return,” says Enste. The results of the study will have to show whether the UBI can be a one-off experiment or the way to a new future. In a second stage, the possible financing should then also be examined.

Illustration. Vo Tac Thien is one of the most famous beauties in Chinese history. She not only has a beautiful face but also possesses an outstanding aura, so people call Vo Tac Thien the first queen of China. The beauty of Vo Tac Thien not only made the two kings infatuated, but also made many men at that time want to “kneel” at her feet. What is Vo Tac Thien’s secret? Use utility templates In the history of Chinese kings, Queen Vo Tac Thien used to leave many anecdotes about how to take care of her beauty, one of the ingredients she used was her mother. According to recorded history, on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month of the year, Vo Tac Thiensai pulled the sample horticulture (using the roots), washed, dried, then powdered. Next, mix the sample powder with flour, water, then pellets and bake over high heat, over low heat. This action is repeated until the pill is formed. Vo Tac Thien uses a product that has just been created to wash his face and hands every day. The rule follows nature Vo Tac Thien has the view that he likes to eat, but not greedy or indiscriminate. The most core principle in the emperor’s health care secrets is “natural”. Specifically, she ate according to nature, slept naturally, her mood to follow nature, … not forced, demanding fussy. Whenever she has free time, she often goes for a walk to enjoy flowers, watch the moon to relax, eliminate fatigue and help the body metabolize effectively. Thanks to this rule, Vo Tac Thien is very healthy, she is the longest living king in Chinese history, at the age of 81 years. Elixir powder Some books are still recorded, Vo Tac Thien is very diligent to take care of his face. In addition to washing her face with her model, she also applied a mask with elixir powder. Accordingly, Vo Hau put on a mask with pearl powder, white angel, powdered benefits and egg whites. Thanks to the hard work of applying this mixture, Vo Tac Thien’s chestnut skin is pink and smooth. Medication refund Not only famous for being a beautiful queen, but Vo Tac Thien is also a very prolific king in sexual matters. She regularly uses the remedy – an esoteric method that helps this queen to keep her extreme fullness forever. That’s why, at the age of 80, Vo Tac Thien still cannot live without a man. According to the recorded documents, the prescription drugs used by Vo Tac Thien include humiliation, telegraphy, five martyrs, the union, the death beam, the truth … Eat more foods containing collagen In the past, the reason why Vo Tac Thien was beautiful and young for a long time was because she usually ate a lot of collagen-containing foods such as chicken skin, pig skin, pig’s hooves, fish … and originated vegetables. course.

The porcelain bowl purchased from a second hand market is identified as an antique produced in the Ming Dynasty and can help its owner make more than 14,000 times more profit.
Porcelain bowls were bought by the owner from a second hand market in New Haven, Connecticut in the US in 2020 for only 35 USD, CNN February 25 quoted auction organization Sotheby’s as saying.

Right after buying the bowl from the market, the owner took pictures and sent it to experts for appraisal. The bowl was later identified by the Ming dynasty produced during the reign of King Minh Thanh To (1403-1424). The bowl is white with delicate motifs of lotus flowers, peony flowers, chrysanthemums and pomegranates. The diameter of the bowl is about 15 cm. The lotus bowl originated from the reign of King Minh Thanh To. Photo: Sotheby’s. The ancient bowl is named “lotus bowl” based on the lotus pattern on the outer body. The bowl is priced at 300,000-500,000 USD, 14,300 times more than the original purchase price by the owner. Auction organization Sotheby’s does not disclose the identity of the owner who bought the bowl from the second hand market. “The bowl has an extremely smooth porcelain body and a smooth enamel finish that doesn’t wear,” said Angela McAteer, head of Sotheby’s China Antiques division. The technology for making this bowl is not replicated in the later Ming dynasties, nor in successive dynasties, Ms. McAteer said. According to representatives of Sotheby’s, there are only 6 bowls in the world similar to antiques found in Connecticut, including those on display at the National Palace Museum in Taipei, the British Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Antiques are scheduled to be auctioned on March 17 during Sotheby’s “Asian Week” event. In addition to the “lotus bowl”, other Chinese antiques at auction include a fine Tang Dynasty silver bowl and an 18th century jade vase. These two items are priced at 1, 5 million USD.
