For those who like island tourism, Zhoushan, with more than 1,300 islands, is undoubtedly a treasure city, and Shengsi, the northernmost part of the Zhoushan archipelago, is one of them. There are nearly one-third of Zhoushan’s large and small islands. Flower and Bird Island is the most famous one. Although the other Baijie Island is not as well-known as the former, it also has a beautiful coastline and a historic lighthouse. Baijieshan Lighthouse is located at the upper southern end of Baijie Mountain (island), Xiaoguanao Village, Caiyuan Town, Shengsi County. It was built in the 9th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1883). The lighthouse appeared in China very late in history, and it can be regarded as an exotic product to be precise. After the Opium War in 1840, Western powers built many lighthouses on the islands of the Shengsi Islands in order to facilitate access to Shanghai. These lighthouses have a strong colonial color, forming a special landscape. Apart from the lighthouse element, Baijie Island itself is an island worth visiting. Although the sea does not make much difference, the sea has a natural healing power. There is a strong island style here. Staying on the island for three or two days has a strong sense of summer ritual. Walking on the island, you can feel the breath of the sea at any time. The low-rise buildings standing on the seashore, the fishing boats with filters of old time, the warm and kind islanders… There are 101 moments and reasons that are reminiscent of the freshness of literature and art. On the way to the lighthouse, you can see abandoned military barracks and demolished military installations from time to time along the way, as well as a small reservoir built halfway up the mountain. Now that the reservoir has been abandoned, the five-pointed star carved with cement on the reservoir and the words “Take the island as a home, keep the island for a long time” are clearly visible, which faithfully record the hard life of the PLA officers and soldiers who were stationed in coastal defense. The wind that belongs to the island alone is warm and gentle, making people flutter. Like the lighthouses people see in photos and pictures, the Baijiedao lighthouse is red and white and resembles a cylinder. The main lighthouse faces south and consists of lighthouses, wells, and annexes. The tower is 14.3 meters high, exchanges light once every 60 seconds, and has a range of 22 nautical miles. On March 5, 2013, 14 lighthouses including Baijieshan Lighthouse, Huaniao Lighthouse and Banyangjiao Lighthouse in Shengsi County were announced as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units “East Zhejiang Coastal Lighthouses”. Nowadays, the function of Baijie Lighthouse as a lighthouse almost does not exist, but for local islanders, especially fishermen who go to sea, floating on the sea full of unknown factors, seeing the lighthouse means seeing home. Although it was a lighthouse built in the late Qing Dynasty, its architectural style is not completely Chinese. In the 1840s, in the era of “European style and beauty, rain comes late”, Eastern and Western cultures collided in coastal cities and islands with chronological sparks. For modern people, seeing such buildings is a bit special. Therefore, it has become a very characterful place to check in, and it is easy to take unique photos. Baijie Lighthouse can be said to be the tallest building on the island, and it is also a landmark building. It can be seen almost anywhere on the island. At its feet, sitting on the reef, blowing the sea breeze, there will be a poetic feeling facing the sea and blooming in spring. A hundred years of history have passed by, and lighthouses on the coast of eastern Zhejiang stand silently, witnessing the changes over the years and the vicissitudes of life.

‘If you have not been to the lighthouse, you have not been to Vung Tau’, the words of friend Nguyen Ngoc Ninh (Nguyen An Ninh ward, Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) made me curious.
The road to Vung Tau lighthouse on this occasion is quite beautiful. From Ha Long road back up, I drove my motorbike along the bends of Tao Phung mountainside. On both sides of the road, the scent of pure porcelain flowers seems to be waving to tourists. From time to time, I see a couple of couples, because they love the beautiful scenery on the side of the road, choose this place to take wedding photos. It only took about 10 minutes by motorbike, I easily reached the top of the mountain where the lighthouse is located. Although at this time the sun has gradually stood still, there are still hundreds of tourists who enjoy taking pictures. Most of them are tourists from far away to see the lighthouse for the first time, some are Vung Tau city residents who still come here often to enjoy the wind.

Lighthouse is the symbol of Vung Tau city. Currently, our country has 92 lighthouses stretching from Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) to Ha Tien (Kien Giang). If most lighthouses are located on islands or places with rugged terrain, Vung Tau lighthouse is one of the few lighthouses built in the city area. Because of that, over the years, Vung Tau lighthouse has become one of the must-see attractions of tourists when coming to this coastal city. According to the information of the sign attached to the lighthouse’s body, the first construction was built in 1862 at an altitude of 149m above sea level. In 1910, the lighthouse was moved up and newly built at an altitude of 170m above sea level. The lighthouse is 18m high, 3m in diameter, effective range is from 23 to 34 nautical miles. Located at the highest position of Vung Tau city, when visiting the lighthouse, visitors can see the whole scene of the coastal city. On a slightly lower hill next to it is a statue of Christ the Redeemer with outstretched arms, built in imitation of the world famous statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Looking to the south is the deep blue and rich East Sea that is nurturing the people here day by day. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ninh is proud: “If you come here in the evening, you will not only see the shimmering Vung Tau city when the lights are on, but also feel the light of the lighthouse when on duty to guide and illuminate the ship. , boat. For the people of Vung Tau city, this lighthouse is a symbol and pride for more than a hundred years.” With the ancient architecture of the lighthouse, charming natural scenery, and cool air, Vung Tau lighthouse is an attractive “check-in” point, welcoming nearly 1 million visitors every year. Although newly repainted in 2019 to withstand the harshest weather and time, Vung Tau lighthouse still retains its ancient and unique features, being one of the oldest lighthouses in the region. Southeast Asia. Mr. Hoang Trung Kien, a tourist from Hanoi said: “I have been to Vung Tau many times, but today, I just had the opportunity to go to the lighthouse. Indeed, not only can I see the important works of Vung Tau, but I can also receive the cool breeze from the sea to melt away fatigue from the long distance. Standing from the lighthouse looking down, you can see how charming the coastal city of Vung Tau is.

For many foreign tourists who have discovered Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Vung Tau … Phu Yen is one of the hottest places in recent times. This area has everything you would expect: cheap food, amazing natural scenery, friendly people..
HOW TO GO TO PHU YEN

Phu Yen is a coastal province with 8 districts, located between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon. Transportation to Phu Yen is very convenient, visitors can take a bus from Quy Nhon to Phu Yen. Besides, every day there is a flight that lands at Phu Yen airport, a short taxi ride from town. Located in An Ninh Dong commune in Tuy An district, Da Dia Reef has become one of the must-visit places in Phu Yen. The site consists of about 35,000 basalt columns created from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. When hot basalt flows meet cold water, they solidify and create various shapes such as circles, pentagons, hexagons and rare polygons. The dark blue color of the rock combined with the clear blue water from the sea brings an unforgettable experience for visitors. Tam Giang Dam on Tam Giang River is also in Tuy An district. Dams are very important for the rice fields in Tuy An district. You can cross the dam, but be careful not to fall into the river. This is known as the first place to watch the sunrise in the country. To get there, you will have to climb 110 spiral stairs, so have a snack before going up because there are no restaurants in this area. From above the lighthouse, you will see the stretches of beaches in Phu Yen. Try to wake up early and get there at 4 am to witness the sunrise, it will be a truly worthwhile experience for visitors. The fee to Dai Lanh lighthouse is 10,000 VND, this fee is used to protect the lighthouse. Famous from the movie “I see yellow flowers on green grass”, Bai Xep has become a great place for nature lovers. This place is so wild and peaceful. However, the images in the film do not show the true beauty of Bai Xep. The green color of grass and cacti along the hillside makes the scene surprisingly beautiful. Right below Bai Xep, you can see the coast, where thousands of dark stones create a song in harmony with the waves. Ong Cop Bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Vietnam, up to 400m. It connects An Ninh Tay ward (Tuy An district) with Song Cau district. This bridge became famous in 2017 when it appeared in the reality TV show Amazing Race Vietnam. It takes about 10 minutes to walk across the bridge. Don’t forget to make some photo styles to keep the memorable memories. Seafood is something not to be missed when coming to Phu Yen, with grilled blood clams being one of the local specialties. Other specialties such as tuna, oysters and apricot fish from O Loan lagoon are also very popular. As the home of tuna, you can enjoy tuna in all its forms in Phu Yen: sashimi, steamed tuna eyeballs, grilled tuna and more. Grilled spring rolls and spring rolls: This is a type of spring rolls served with a special dipping sauce consisting of mixed grilled pork, vegetables, rice paper and spring rolls. Chives cake soup: This is a delicious dish that will surely make you remember forever. This light “soup” is like a sea of blue specks swimming in a clear, light, and richly sweet broth. Banh beo: This is a very delicious cake in Central Vietnamese cuisine. It is white and has a bit of a salty filling in the middle, usually shrimp puree.

Immortal life form seems to be an impossible or impossible thing for mankind, but on our planet already exists this life form, moreover it can do this comfortably. without limit number of times.
In the summer of 1988, Christian Sommer, a 20-year-old German marine biology major, came to the small town of Rapallo in Liguria, Italy, to travel with his girlfriend. This is where the famous German philosopher Nietzsche wrote “So Zarathustra” – “So said Zarathustra”, and on this tour, the young German man accidentally discovered an amazing secret. about life on Earth.

Christian Sommer is an extremely hardworking student, so even while on vacation with his girlfriend, this guy doesn’t neglect his studies. For his studies, he dived into the azure waters under the cliffs of Portofino to learn about the marine life here and found a small jellyfish – Turritopsis nutricula (lighthouse jellyfish). This jellyfish is only four to five mm in size, the whole body is transparent, in the middle of their body is a red digestive system like a lamp, so it is called a lighthouse jellyfish. Although lighthouse jellyfish have a very beautiful appearance, due to their small size, people often do not see or notice them. Immediately after observing and discovering, Sommer collected them in a thin mesh bag and placed them in a container of seawater in the hope of bringing them to the refrigerator and turning them into specimens. But that day was a weekend, on the beach there were many interesting games and because of a bit of playing, Christian Sommer forgot to put them in the refrigerator as originally planned. It was not until the next day that Christian Sommer remembered what he had forgotten. When he found the barrel, he took it out to look, but when he looked closely many times, Sommer found nothing inside the net bag but sea water. So what happened? Even though lighthouse jellyfish are so small they can still be seen with the naked eye, why do they completely disappear in just one? Still not believing his eyes, Sommer checked the container a few more times, this time even more surprised, at the bottom of the container there were many tiny things, almost invisible. can see. After many observations and analysis, Sommer realized that these were exactly the polyps of lighthouse jellyfish. Why did Sommer feel so surprised? In fact, lighthouse jellyfish are a species of hydrophyte, and they have two different developmental stages in their life cycle: a polyp (hydroid) stage and a jellyfish development stage. Adult jellyfish will lay eggs and are fertilized in water, after which they retain the fertilized eggs in the female jellyfish until they develop into planula larvae. These planula larvae can swim freely like worms or float under the sea and then sink to the sea floor to form digestive systems and reproduce asexually into polyps; After asexual reproduction is budding, the polyps slowly develop into adult jellyfish and begin a new life cycle. Usually a jellyfish life cycle lasts a few weeks to several months, and they die after laying eggs. But now, the fact that these jellyfish lay eggs, fertilize, become larvae, mature and then turn into polyps within a few days is what makes Sommer extremely surprised. This means that these jellyfish have not disappeared, instead they are rejuvenated like a full-blown rejuvenation. Further research has found that not all lighthouse jellyfish will rejuvenate, their life cycle will still proceed normally. However, when faced with certain adverse conditions such as food scarcity, water temperature changes, sea water decrease in salinity or physical damage and many other adversities, they will fend for themselves. rejuvenate, turn into polyps and begin their life cycle once more. Theoretically, lighthouse jellyfish can reverse its life cycle continuously without limit of times, so it can be said that lighthouse jellyfish is an immortal life form and is also the only species in the world that can such a mechanism of life. Moreover, each time this rejuvenation process is performed, the lighthouse jellyfish can separate into hundreds of different polyps, which means that the current lighthouse jellyfish have “aged” very much. , may even exceed several thousand years old. Therefore, this species is also considered the longest living organism on the planet, if not completely immortal. It is widely believed that lighthouse jellyfish appeared during the Cretaceous period, and if so, lighthouse jellyfish in the ocean have lived for more than 100 million years. The lighthouse jellyfish is actually an invasive species, it originated in the Pacific Ocean and is thought to colonize oceans around the world through ballast water. Due to its small size, and not causing too many adverse reactions to the ecosystem, few people notice its invasiveness.

Mr. Pham Van Thuong (Nam Yet Lighthouse) cleans and maintains the “magic eye” The “divine eyes” During the voyage, every time the ship 571 anchored to the shore while it was still dark, the only thing for us to know the island’s location was from the light of the Lighthouse, also known as the “magic eye”. According to a sailor, currently on the islands and points of Truong Sa island, there are 9 lighthouses in Da Lat, An Bang, Da Tay, Tien Nu, Song Tu Tay, Truong Sa Lon, Sinh Ton, Son Ca and Nam Yet islands. . All 9 lighthouses are operated and maintained by engineers, officers and employees of the East Sea and Islands Maritime Safety Company. The construction of the lighthouse station on the islands was started when the international shipping route expanded at sea and to meet the requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. In particular, Song Tu Tay lighthouse was first built on the archipelago (1993), 17 nautical miles away from which ships can see bright white lights, single blinking every 15 seconds. The construction of the Lighthouse depends on the geology and coral background. On Song Tu Tay island, the lighthouse is built in the shape of a circular tower in the east of the island; The lighthouse on Da Lat island is built in the shape of an arrow on a coral background, has an iron and steel structure with flower slanting holes to reduce the acceleration of the wind, while the lighthouse on Son Ca island has a cylindrical shape… Son Ca island lighthouse stands tall like a fortress, standing tall in the middle of the ocean and is considered the most beautiful lighthouse in the 9 lighthouses in the Truong Sa archipelago. Tran Van Chien – Head of Son Ca Lighthouse said: “Son Ca lighthouse is 28m high, 25.5m bright center, group 2 white flash, 10 seconds period, 15 nautical miles effective range. During the day, in good weather, dozens of nautical miles away from passing ships can be seen. The lighthouse operates from 5:30 p.m. the previous day to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. On a day with thunderstorms, fog, or bad weather, the lights must be turned on earlier and turned off later. When there is a problem, the main light is damaged, the auxiliary light will be turned on for replacement and the main lamp must be repaired immediately. Under no circumstances shall the Lighthouse be turned off. Because the lighthouse is not only a landmark for ships operating in the area, but also a light of national sovereignty at sea. The “lighters” With the task of not letting the Lighthouse be turned off under any circumstances, engineers, officers and employees of the East Sea and Islands Maritime Safety Company must work day and night. The environment is harsh, often in contact with batteries, acids, mechanical equipment, and conductive objects, but they always fulfill their noble duties. They are considered to be diligent “lighters”, so that the flame of love for their homeland and country always shines. Their idyllic work is a silent sacrifice, the Lighthouse shines with time, which means that their hair is partly gray because of the sun and wind. Son Ca Lighthouse Station Mr. Pham Van Thuong (SN 1990, Nam Yet Lighthouse Station) worked for 4 years in the profession and went to 6 islands to do his duty. “Due to saltwater contamination, the lighthouses are often rusted, if not maintained continuously, the lights are easy to catch fire. Whether it’s scorching sun or howling wind and rain, we have to climb to the top of the lamp post for periodic cleaning and maintenance. At a height of tens of meters, it only takes a small mistake to have an accident. When the sea is rough, at the lighthouse stations on the island, the waves hit the ground floor. Every 15 minutes, the brothers have to take turns on duty to check the technical parameters. Now there is solar power, so it’s less difficult, but before, it was very tiring to use the generator to generate electricity. It was an opportunity for me to come to the profession,” said Pham Van Thuong. The “magic eye” is never allowed to turn off, because it is lit from the hearts of all officers and employees of the Stations and the naval soldiers guarding the rooster of the Fatherland on a remote island… As a senior in the profession of “lighting lighthouses” for more than 24 years, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (SN 1976, Song Tu Tay Lighthouse Station) has celebrated Tet more than 15 times on the island. Mr. Tuan confided: “Working in harsh climates and poor conditions, although it is hard, it has trained me more will and bravery. I am proud to work in Truong Sa. Looking at the bright lights in the black sky, I feel that my country is too sacred. Each flash is the breath and life of the person lighting the fire. To do this job, you must love the job, love the sea and islands of the homeland to complete the task well.” Mr. Bui Van Son (Chief of Sinh Ton Lighthouse Station) is considered an ancient tree of lighthouse stations in Truong Sa. With a period of more than 25 years, Mr. Son has gone to all 9 stations, with the lighthouse he went to for the fifth time. “Each station has its own look, different facilities and conditions. As the station chief, I had to balance the food, calculate how it was reasonable, and then call the mainland to buy what’s urgent so that my brothers and sisters would be less needy. In addition to regulating the work in the station, I often capture the emotional feelings of the staff, timely motivate, help people overcome difficulties. Along with carrying out the task of training and practicing island defense plans, contributing to strengthening the island’s combat strength when situations arise, sports and cultural exchanges are also maintained. We all came together very naturally, the brothers on the station lived more together than with their families,” said Mr. Son. Lighthouse lights run on solar power and automatically turn on and off when it gets dark, but always ensure that the engine and generator operate normally in all conditions, especially prolonged rainstorms. Salt vapor and sea breeze easily damage machinery and technical equipment, so officers and employees must regularly check, preserve and maintain equipment on the station. The “magic eye” is never allowed to turn off, because it is lit from the hearts of every officer, station staff and the navy soldiers guarding the rooster of the Fatherland on a remote island…

Montauk was built under the direction of George Washington. Here are some other amazing things newcomers may not know about Montauk – the oldest lighthouse in New York (USA).
It’s hard to believe that a peaceful and surrounded by ocean is just 120 miles from New York City. Called “The End” by locals, this is the only place on Long Island where you can see three states in one place, observing marine life like seals … It’s hard to even. believe that this specially maintained and modern looking lighthouse actually has a history that precedes it nearly 400 years.

Montauk is named for the tribe that calls it home https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/ Although known as Montauk, the land was actually first occupied by the Montaukett tribe – this is where the town’s present name comes from. The first settlers arrived in the area in 1648 and it took almost two decades before the land could be purchased. Views of the ocean are endless https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/ The Montauk lighthouse is known for its presence on the East Coast as a literal beacon because it remains active and emits a flashing light after five seconds that can be seen for 19 knots. However, for those with a chance to climb all of its 137 iron steps, the view from a height of more than 100 feet (more than 30 meters) on the slopes is unbelievable. A storm once separated Montauk from the rest of the United States https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/ When driving to Montauk, it’s easy to believe how this might happen. With such an isolated place, there are many paths in and out of Montauk. It is a two-lane road surrounded by trees and sand dunes on both sides. During Hurricane Carol that hit New England in 1954, the road and surrounding land leading to Montauk were completely submerged, temporarily becoming its own island. One of its buildings is 200 years old and that is not the lighthouse https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/ While the lighthouse itself was built by order of George Washington, it is not the oldest structure in Montauk since the lighthouse was built until 1796. The oldest structure is actually called. It is a second home and is used as a home for shepherds to look after livestock on the grasslands of the area. “The fishing capital of the world” https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/ According to Housely, Montauk is also known as the “fishing capital of the world” because there are so many giant fish species caught on its shores. In fact, the catch here is very good. It is also known to be the largest fishing fleet in the entire state. https://dulich.petrotimes.vn/

The list of strange and mysterious cases that humanity cannot find a solution to continues to extend, no matter how much science and technology develops.
10. The double

In 2008, the movie Changeling by Clint Eastwood recalls one of the most bizarre and tragic stories of the 1920s. Single mother Christine Collins says her 9-year-old son, Walter Collins, went missing in March 1928 at home. exclusively in Los Angeles City – USA.

Five months later, the police brought “Walter” back to Mrs. Christine but it was not Walter but another boy. Although the woman knew this was not her son, the Los Angeles City police dispelled Christine’s concerns, even accused her of failing to fulfill the mother’s responsibility and forced her to go to a mental hospital.

Walter Collins is never actually found. Some time later, authorities believed the boy was one of the victims of the convicted child murderer Gordon Stewart Northcott. Meanwhile, Northcott’s mother confessed to the murder of Walter.

So far, the boy’s body has not been found and no one knows what happened. It is also unclear why the police wanted to cover up the boy’s disappearance that they brought another child to Christine and tried to convince the woman and the public that it was Walter. .

11. Female students go to another planet?

Paula Jean Welden, 18 years old, is a second year student at Bennington College (USA). On December 1, 1946, Welden informed his roommate, Elizabeth Parker, that she had taken a hike but was unable to return.

Authorities immediately launched a search on the 435-kilometer Long Trail that cuts through Vermont to the Canadian border, where some local witnesses reported seeing the girl.

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

However, they did not find any clues. Police then received information from a Massachusetts waitress who had served an excited girl, matching Paula’s identity.

Upon learning of this information, Paula’s father disappeared for 36 hours, supposedly to “follow the trail of his daughter”, but it was the strange move that made him the No. 1 suspect in the Paula disappearance.

Next, stories about Paula’s home life began to spread, almost as unusual as her parents told the police. Apparently, Paula had not returned home on Thanksgiving the week before, seeming to feel anxious about her dissonance with her father. Paula’s father, on the other hand, theorized that his daughter was “distraught by liking a guy so he must be a suspect”.

A decade later, a local man in the town of Bennington, Vermont, twice told his friends that he knew where Paula’s body was buried. However, he couldn’t bring the police in ?! With no evidence of crime, no body and no forensic clue, the incident has become increasingly mysterious, including those related to the paranormal hypothesis.

12. Three people guarding the lighthouse

In 1900, the three lighthouses guarding the Flannan Islands, off the west coast of Scotland, suddenly disappeared in confusion. The lighthouse is overseen by a group of four including Thomas Marshall, James Ducat, Donald MacArthur and one person alternating from the shore.

On December 26, 1900, the fourth person took turns to the lighthouse but could not see the other 3 people. This person saw an overturned chair near the kitchen table. No body was found. It is believed that 3 people drowned, kidnapped by foreign agents, a ghost ship or giant sea monster. Until now, the secret is still buried.

13. The dog’s death bridge

The Overtoun Bridge, near Dumbarton – Scotland, seems to have the force of calling for dogs to plunge into death. Since the early 1960s, about 50 dogs have perished under this bridge and hundreds more have jumped down but survived. Below the Overtoun Bridge at an altitude of 15 m are jagged rocks.

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

The Scottish Association against Cruelty of Animals sent people to investigate, but to no avail. Scientifically, it can be said that dogs have the ability to “form suicidal intentions”. However, something was enticing them to jump off the bridge, often from the same spot and always on sunny days.

Many theories have come up, including the haunted bridge (which is popular after a local man threw his young son down the bridge and killed him in 1994), a weasel mark the area with a scent that attracts dogs or an unusual sound at the bridge that only dogs can hear.

14. “Monsters” are gray

The Big Gray Man is a mysterious creature believed to haunt the second highest peak in Scotland, Ben Macdui. In the native Scottish language, this creature is called Am Fear Liath Mòr.

Like the Yeti (snowman) of the Himalayas and the Big Foot (big-legged monster) in the Pacific Northwest, the Big Gray Man is confirmed to have been seen by several witnesses.

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

The appearance of this creature is not like a bear. Those who have seen the Big Gray Man describe it as tall (over 3 meters) and human-like with short hair, wide shoulders, and long arms. Nearly all of Big Gray Man’s appearances have been accompanied by the sound of gravel beneath its footsteps.

Scientists have yet to come up with an explanation for the Big Gray Man sightings and accompanying sound. Meanwhile, psychologists argue that those who are supposed to see and hear the Big Gray Man are in a state of physical and mental distress due to exhaustion or feeling alone.

15. The occult colony of Roanoke

In 1587, John White led a group of people from England to colonize on Roanoke Island, located in a chain of islands today known as the Outer Banks, North Carolina – USA.

White then leaves to find more supplies. But when he returned three years later, he found the colony abandoned, in which all houses and structures were carefully dismantled.

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

Before leaving Roanoke Island, White instructed the group from England that if they were captured by force, they had to carve a cross into a nearby tree but there was no cross. The only clue is from “Croatoan”, the name of an indigenous tribe allied with Britain. White understood this to mean that the group had moved to Croatoan Island (now known as the Hatteras).

Investigations conclude that the group was “slaughtered by the Powhatan tribe” but there is no archaeological evidence for this. Conducting a recent review of official sources, it was discovered that an earlier group of people might have been slaughtered rather than White’s.

Some hypotheses suggest that they and the Croatoans or local tribes have merged, but so far no evidence of DNA has been found to help identify their descendants. Scientists are still unable to explain this ocean mystery.

16. Circleville letter writer

In 1976, residents of Circleville City, Ohio – USA, received anonymous letters. They were postmarked from the city of Columbus in the same state, filled with harsh words.

The text of the letter reminds one of the alleged relationship between the school bus driver Mary Gillespie and the superintendent. A letter was sent to Mr. Ron, Mary’s husband, threatening his life if he does not end his love for his wife.

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

By 1977, Mr. Ron was killed in a suspicious car crash, including shooting. However, the local police chief said that Mr. Ron’s death was just an accident. After that, Circleville City residents began receiving letters accusing the sheriff of covering up the incident.

Letters continued throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, even after Ron’s sister’s husband, Paul Freshour, was found guilty of “writing letters and trying to kill Mary with a single gun. pistol”.

However, even when Mr. Freshour went to jail, letters still appeared. Mr. Freshour even received a letter from among them. In 1994, Mr. Freshour was released and died in 2012. The true identity of “Circleville Writer” remains in darkness. Some believe it is Mr. Freshour. Others suspect it is Mary, who used the letters to support her perfect murder of her husband.

17. The Tunguska Facts

Photo: SHUTTERSTOCK

On the morning of June 30, 1908, nearly 2,000 square kilometers of forest in Siberia – Russia was cut down by “an explosion”. There are no witnesses or evidence associated with this event. It was named “the Tunguska event”. Scientists classify it as a “collision event”, meaning that the collision can be recorded between two astronomical objects, such as an asteroid and the earth.

However, no craters were found in the “collision”. So scientists can only guess what happened, maybe an asteroid exploded on Earth, causing the aforementioned devastation in Siberia.

18. Flight MH370

On March 8, 2014, while flying from Malaysia to China, a Boeing 777 carrying 239 passengers and a crew member of the Malaysian Airlines airline suddenly disappeared.

One of the largest multinational search operations in aviation history found just 20 of the plane’s debris. Malaysia’s Prime Minister declined to comment beyond saying the plane had disappeared over the Indian Ocean.

Theories included, hijacked, captured by the US, crew committed suicide (there is information that the pilot is having a marriage problem), fire on a plane, plunging into the sea, natural Jelly attacks and even gets captured by aliens. But until now, this is still the biggest mystery in the history of modern world aviation.
