It is said that the hair of Marie Antoinette, queen of the French king Louis XVI, completely turned white the night before she was slashed, when she was 38. So does this phenomenon really exist or not?
The above story may be just fiction, but the phenomenon of hair graying overnight or in a very short time is completely real and it is called Marie Antoinette Syndrome.

Marie Antoinette syndrome is a phenomenon in which a person’s hair suddenly turns white (depigmentation). The condition’s name comes from the folk tale of French queen Marie Antoinette, whose hair is said to have suddenly turned white before her execution on October 16, 1793. People often assume that this syndrome is caused by pressure – perhaps this is most evident in the photos of the head of state before and after taking office. Compare President Obama before and after taking office, retiring. However, because the specific mechanism of graying hair has not been elucidated, it is not clear that 3 factors of aging, genetic factors and stress will affect gray hair to what extent. Recently, researchers from Harvard University published a study in the journal Nature that identified the mechanism by which rat hair turns gray prematurely under stress. The average human scalp has 100,000 hair follicles, and humans also have many different hair colors. Hair color is determined by melanocytes, which produce melanin that absorb light in various combinations. Melanocytes are derived from melanocytes (MeSC), located in the protruding part of the hair follicle. The hair growth cycle is divided into three phases, namely the anagen growth phase, the catagen resting phase, and the telogen long metabolic (shedding) phase. Hair growth cycle: growth phase, resting phase and shedding phase (from left to right). Melanocytes are produced during the growth phase. As a person ages, the melanin stem cells will gradually deplete, and the pigment produced will have a “salt-and-pepper” color, then turn gray, and finally white – the pigment is completely lost. in all hair follicles. At first, researchers suspected that stress would trigger an immune attack on melanin stem cells. But this was later proven to be a false hypothesis, as the mice lacked immune cells but remained mutated and had white spots. Stress increases the secretion of the hormone cortisol, so researchers are beginning to suspect that the hormone cortisol is responsible for the hair color change. However, when the cortisol-producing glands were removed in the mice, the mice’s fur would still turn white. Finally, the scientists focused on the sympathetic nervous system, the system in the body that is used to control the stress response in dangerous situations. Through studies, scientists discovered that melanocytes are located in the bulging part of the hair follicle, surrounded by neurons of the sympathetic nervous system, and release a neurotransmitter molecule. nerve is called norepinephrine. Melanin stem cell activity under normal and stressful conditions. As can be seen in figure a, under normal conditions, melanin stem cells (MeSCs) migrated from the bulge (in the direction of the red arrow) and differentiated into melanocytes during the analysis. From there, melanocytes synthesize pigment to make the regenerated hair dark. During the degenerative and resting phase, these stem cells begin to die. However, in the next growth phase, there will still be a large amount of new MeSC used to replace the dead stem cells. In figure b, the researchers found that external pressure stimulates and activates the sympathetic nervous system, increasing adrenaline release in the hair follicles. Norepinephrine then causes the MeSCs to completely transform into melanocytes, and none of the stem cells survive the growth phase in the next cycle. Since no new melanocytes are produced, the hair is naturally greyish white. The researchers also tested the effects of different pressures on the fading of the mice’s fur. At different stages of hair growth, they exposed the mice to three different stressors – pain, limited mobility, and psychological stress. All three of these factors induce MeSC depletion, which eventually leads to the appearance of white hairs. Previous popular theories believed that stress-induced hormonal changes (such as corticosterone) or autoimmune reactions were responsible for graying hair. The researchers examined these underlying mechanisms, first by blocking corticosterone signaling, and then by stressing the mice’s immune systems. In either case, corticosterone changes or autoimmune responses did not induce MeSC depletion. However, the researchers found that the expression of MeSCs depends on an adrenaline receptor, which responds to adrenaline. The adrenal glands are the main source of adrenaline. But surprisingly, the researchers found that removing these glands still did not prevent the mice’s coat color from turning gray under stress. Another source of adrenaline is the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which is active in response to stress. The researchers demonstrated that the bulge area is internally connected by sympathetic neurons. Using neurotoxin molecules to destroy the SNS or prevent sympathetic neurons from releasing adrenaline could prevent hair from turning gray due to stress. Next, the researchers studied mice with activated sympathetic neurons and found that over-activating the SNS in these mice could cause hair to turn gray without stress. Taken together, these results indicate that adrenaline released from activated sympathetic neurons induces MeSC depletion. The red shows the melanin stem cells at the bottom of the hair follicles and the sympathetic nerves are shown in green around them. Therefore, the culprit behind Marie Antoinette Syndrome is adrenaline, but our problem is not over yet. Stress produces adrenaline which turns our hair gray, so can a silvery bangs help relieve stress? The team from Harvard University, led by Xu Yajie, believes that hair-whitening is actually a side effect of sympathetic nervous system stress processing: “For species like octopuses and geckos flowers have the ability to change color rapidly, the pigment cells in their body will be activated under the influence of the nervous system, but in today’s mammals, only melanocytes remain. very sensitive to the hormones secreted by the nervous system. Once the hormone is secreted in excess, these cells are inadvertently activated.” Gray hair color is not life-threatening, so in the process of evolution, this small defect has remained. In fact, in the face of stress, hair doesn’t actually turn completely white overnight, which is a slow process and lasts for several months. In addition to being associated with stress and age, gray hair can sometimes be related to experience, leadership, and trust. For example, when a male silverback mountain gorilla is fully grown, it will grow gray hair on its back and become the leader of the gorillas. After being subjected to enough pressure, individuals that are “dyed” white often have a higher status in the community than their age.

Apple has launched a lot of new features during WWDC 2021, and many of them directly threaten existing applications.
Apple has a lot of creativity on their various software platforms, but there are also many “new” features that seem to be inspired by other tools, apps, and even operating systems, making it easy to see why. developers wonder what will happen to their products when they are no longer needed because Apple has made something similar.

At WWDC 2021, Apple introduces a lot of new features and many of these features are really worrying for developers, because their products can be “killed” by Apple. Zoom (and other video conferencing applications) It’s hard to imagine a tool as useful during a pandemic as a video calling and conferencing app (with the exception of soap and sanitizer). We’ve all spent countless hours on Zoom, Skype, and Google Meet working, and when it’s done, many of us turn to Apple’s FaceTime to chat with family at home. FaceTime on Android and Windows With its simplicity, even the elderly can easily use FaceTime, but it is too simple to use in the company. With iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey, FaceTime is about to rival Zoom, with grace features that allow voice enhancement while eliminating background noise, and the ability to create and schedule links in advance. FaceTime calls. Most importantly, Windows and Android users can also participate in FaceTime calls through the web interface, thus no longer relying on Apple hardware. Citymapper Citymapper Traveling on public transport in a city you’ve never been to can be a daunting challenge. Not only do you have to figure out which trains or buses to take, but you also have to know when to get off to get to your desired destination. That’s why there are apps like Citymapper, which function like satellites for subways, buses and trains. But in iOS 15, Apple is incorporating similar functionality into Maps to convince iPhone users not to use Google Maps instead. Not only will you see the progress of your vehicle updated in real time, you’ll also get advanced alerts on when you need to get off and then directions to where you need to go. you back on the road. Peloton Artist Series Training Program Nothing motivates you to work out like the perfect tracks and your favorite artists, which is what Peloton has leveraged in its Artist Series collaboration with celebrity: a series exercises in which the entire music is centered around a single artist as part of a formal partnership. With Fitness, Apple is aiming for Peloton’s success, and with the help of the company’s massive music streaming service, it will soon introduce the new Artist Spotlight Series, where workouts will feature an entire playlist. from a single artist. The first themed workouts will be based on the music catalog of Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez. Multi-device keyboard and mouse iPhones and iPads have been compatible with wireless keyboards for years, making typing easier and helping turn both devices into true productivity tools. That’s led to makers of multi-device keyboards and mice that can quickly switch between controlling different devices — like laptops, phones, and tablets — through a single switch. simple change. With macOS Monterey, a new feature called Universal Control will make such accessories unnecessary for Apple users. A mouse and keyboard (or trackpad) can be used to not only control multiple devices, but control them all at once, when the pointer can move to another device’s screen. This feature takes it a step further and allows for easy dragging of files between Apple devices, simplifying the way iOS and macOS devices share documents. You may see this feature as “Mouse without Borders” on Windows, but the way Apple does it is much more intuitive and logical.

Healthy mice were created from freeze-dried sperm stored for 6 years in space. Photo: Teruhiko Wakayama. A new study shows that rat sperm that was freeze-dried and stored on the International Space Station (ISS) for nearly six years didn’t suffer any DNA damage and went on to produce “mice pups” healthy”. The study was published June 11 in the journal Science Advances . According to the scientists, this discovery sheds more light on whether mammals, including humans, can reproduce in space. Combined with ground-based experiments exposing mouse sperm to X-rays, the study found that mammalian sperm cells can be preserved on the International Space Station for up to 200 years. Researchers have long thought that exposure to space radiation can damage the DNA in cells and lead to the possibility of passing mutations on to offspring. The lack of freezers on the ISS has prevented long-term research into living cells. To overcome these limitations, the researchers frozen dried sperm samples from 12 mice and sealed them in small, lightweight tubes and transported to the ISS by rocket without the need for a freezer. Mouse sperm were freeze-dried in glass tubes and stored on the ISS . Photo: Teruhiko Wakayama. Because of the complex mix of different types of radiation in space, scientists say, only simulation experiments to assess DNA damage on Earth cannot capture the reality of conditions. outside our atmosphere. Dr. Sayaka Wakayama, Yamanashi University, Japan, lead author of the study told The Independent : “There are different types of radiation flying around in space, unlike on the ground. For example, there are heavy ions, protons and electromagnetic waves from the rays of the sun.” “It’s very difficult to irradiate and reproduce all these types of radiation at once on the ground, so I think DNA damage in biological samples can only be measured in space,” he explains. . Scientists periodically test small portions of the sample. The samples returned to Earth after 9 months, 2 years 9 months, and 5 years and 10 months, respectively. Mouse embryos developed normally in the laboratory after fertilization with freeze-dried sperm and stored in space. Photo: Teruhiko Wakayama. When the researchers examined the samples using instruments that measured how much radiation they had absorbed and performed tests to assess DNA damage in the cell nuclei, they found a long stay. Long duration on the ISS did not result in DNA damage to freeze-dried sperm. Dr Wakayama said: “The total amount of space radiation absorbed by the ISS, as measured by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), is 0.41 milli Gray (mGy) per day. Meanwhile, typical radiation doses used to treat cancers such as solid epithelial tumors range from 60 to 80Gy. “The results of the ground X-ray experiment show that freeze-dried sperm can withstand up to 30 Gy and still be able to produce the next generation,” added Dr Wakayama. The freeze-drying process used in the study is “similar to instant coffee, or freeze-dried fruit,” explains Dr. Wakayama. With food, just adding water can be used “instantly”. The freeze-drying process kills sperm, but when rehydrated and injected into a mouse egg, the sperm can still fertilize the egg, then develop normally. The rehydrated sperm cells, when injected into fresh ovarian cells and transferred to female mice, resulted in the birth of “healthy pups”. Mouse sperm that has been preserved in space for years is injected into egg cells. Photo: Teruhiko Wakayama. Although there is a difference between DNA damage caused by X-rays and space radiation, it can be roughly predicted that freeze-dried sperm can be preserved on the surface of the body, the scientists wrote in the study. ISS for over 200 years”. According to the scientists, a total of 168 mice were born from sperm kept in space for six years, all of which were normal in appearance and had no abnormalities in their gene activity patterns. compared with control mice born from sperm preserved on Earth. Some of these mice were raised to adulthood and were able to produce healthy offspring. Scientists believe that more studies from similar experiments could shed more light on radiation effects and the tolerance of life forms for long periods of time in space. Scientists are also conducting research to find out whether mammalian embryos can develop in zero-gravity conditions. Proposals for this experiment were approved by NASA and JAXA in 2015. In August, frozen mouse embryos will be launched to the ISS, where astronauts will thaw and culture in zero gravity.

At first, people smell a musty, musty smell. Then, a sound like the sound of ocean waves appeared, sometimes like the sound of rain hitting a metal roof, accompanied by sounds like howling wind.

Hidden in the dark, the terror of the dark, is a herd of thousands of mice. Wander around the wheat cellar at the Fragar family farm, a seven-hour drive from Sydney. The drought is over, and the Fragar family’s first good harvest in years is being ravaged by rats. But the Fragars weren’t the only victims. Countless farms along Australia’s eastern grain belt are facing a rat epidemic described as the worst in public memory, according to New York Times . Rats in the grain warehouse at the Fragar family farm. Photo: New York Times. The rat epidemic came after years of bountiful crops màng On average, every 10 years, Australia faces a rat epidemic. This year, the rats appeared after a year of favorable rain and wind in 2020. The crops were bountiful, the farmers’ food stores were full, becoming an ideal food source for the rats to multiply. This year’s rat epidemic is also partly caused by the change in people’s farming methods. In the past, farmers used to burn the stubble after each crop, before sowing began. But over the past 15 years, Australian farmers have started sowing seeds directly on the trunks of old food crops, to protect the environment. It was this change that created an additional food supply as well as an ideal nesting place for the rats. Both natural and man-made factors, combined with the rapid reproductive cycle – a single mother can give birth to 6-10 pups in 3 weeks, have caused the rat population to explode into the tens of thousands. million children. Meanwhile, the Australian government has been criticized for its slow response. Recently, after a long period of rat epidemic raging, the New South Wales state government lifted the ban on the use of bromadiolone poison, which is considered a “napal bomb” for rats. Rats on a grain tarpaulin at a farm in Tottenham. Photo: AP. Tottenham is a small town in the midwest region of the state of New South Wales. Residents here said they have never seen a rat epidemic as long as it is now in the past. Winter is now slowly coming to the southern hemisphere, including Australia. Cold weather slows down the growth of mice. Robert Brodin, the owner of a shop in Tottenham, said the number of rats he catches each morning is now 15-20, down by nearly half compared to the previous time. However, Mr. Brodin expressed skepticism about the possibility that the rat epidemic would end just through winter. “They used to say, once they (rats) start eating each other, the rat epidemic will pass. But they have been eating each other since December 2020 and nothing has changed,” Mr. Brodin said. Steve Henry, an expert on rat diseases in Australia, admits it is difficult to predict when the current rat epidemic will pass. Mr. Henry said the rat epidemic can only end when it has peaked. “The epidemic will end when there are too many rats in the ecosystem, all of them interacting with each other, causing the disease to spread quickly. At the same time, the rats run out of food, they will be both sick and hungry, that is when they will attack each other and eat the young,” expert Henry predicted. If the rat population survives the winter in large numbers, the size of the rat population will explode again in the spring, then the situation could be worse. Until the rat epidemic is over, it will continue to be a psychological burden for people living in the areas directly affected. Life turned upside down “I feel like I’m watching the rats gnaw away at the family’s future,” said Kathy Fragar. During the first half of 2021, the rat epidemic has spread across southern Queesland, New South Wales and northern Victoria, the three wealthiest eastern states in Australia. “The rat epidemic is the flip side of a rare lucky year out of the worst drought in a century.” New York Times comment. Not only attacking crops, rats even attack people in the house. They get into the air conditioning system, destroy household appliances, eat poultry. Communication systems in some areas of Australia were disrupted when rats bitten telecommunications cables. Rats biting power lines also short-circuited and set a house on fire in New South Wales. Mr. Terry Klante emptied the rat out of the trap. Photo: New York Times. The rat epidemic makes people do things every day that no one is interested in. At the stores, employees set traps every night, and in the morning drown the rats they catch. In residential areas, “cremation yards” sprang up, where people bring the bodies of rats they find or kill for incineration. Hospitals also struggle with hygiene requirements against the invasion of rats. Jeff Fragar, the family’s ranch owner, said the loss of wheat storage was noticeable due to rat infestation. Mr. Fragar hopes to be able to sell 500 tonnes of the 700 tonnes of wheat already harvested on the farm. Even with such an optimistic figure, the family still lost $30,000. Many farmers find themselves in a situation where their goods are returned because rats are found in their lots. Mr. Fragar said the family’s biggest concern right now is the risk of not being able to continue growing the next crop. The Fragar family farm is in its infancy. The swarm of rats will eat whatever seed man sows in the ground. But if we continue to wait, the ideal time for sowing will pass, the farm is at risk of crop failure, or even no crop to harvest. The NSW Farmers lobby group warned New South Wales could lose billions of dollars as the rat epidemic affects the upcoming wheat, barley and canola crops. “We haven’t been able to plant anything for three years now because of the drought. We’ve only had half a year of good weather, and then the rats have ruined everything. If the weather doesn’t continue to be favorable, I can saying that our luck has run out. The bank will no longer help us,” said Mr. Fragar. Can only wait Jo Randall lives more than 100 kilometers south of the Fragars’ farm. The woman said she cried when she discovered that the rats had entered the house and destroyed the furniture. The Randalls consider themselves lucky because they were able to protect the farm from rats, by actively trapping and burning the farmland. But the Randalls live in an old house, with many cracks, easily infested by rats. Even when it was cold in the morning, Mrs. Randall often had to open the window to release the stench from the rats. A domestic dog chases mice under a grain-covered canvas on the farm of George Greig’s family. Photo: New York Times. In the house, there were traces of rats everywhere. Mrs. Randall’s phone case was crushed at the edge. The sound system of the family is damaged by biting the wire. Rats leave teeth marks on many other household objects. For Mrs. Randall, the ultimate limit was the rats getting into the bed. This finally happened, when the woman found rat droppings on the bed sheet. “Ultimately we have to accept the fact that we’re not going to win this war, we’re not going to get rid of the rats. The best we can do is wait for the rat epidemic to pass,” Ms. Randall said. .

Goby fish (also known as goby fish) lives a lot in shrimp squares, rivers, canals… in Ca Mau. However, recently, due to the impact of the environment combined with human overexploitation, the production of this fish species in the wild has decreased gradually.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (living in Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau) said that his family has nearly 2 hectares of extensive shrimp farming land. “Before that, when I came to the water of the square (full moon or thirty), I set a trap to catch tens of kilograms of wild goby fish, which was normal. But, now it is no longer,” Mr. Goby fish has soft and sweet meat, so when processed into dishes such as: grilled with salt and pepper, dried, cooked with sour soup, etc., it is usually very delicious. In particular, it is impossible not to mention the dried goby dish, which is one of the favorite dishes indispensable in the family meals of many households on Tet holidays. Facing the needs of the market, many households in Ca Mau have chosen the goby fish farming model to develop their economy and bring about unexpected results. People’s lives have gradually improved and become quite rich. Witnessing the scene of people using mouse tails to catch goby fish, many people coming to Ca Mau couldn’t help but admire and enjoy. Ca Mau farmers use “rat tail” to harvest goby fish in ponds Mr. Nguyen Van Dao (41 years old, living in Cai Nuoc district) said he has been working with goby fish farming for more than 5 years. “Around July every year, I buy goby fry from Ngoc Hien (Ca Mau) for stocking. After the care period, by December of the lunar calendar, the fish reached the weight above or below 40 fish/kg, then started to be harvested. Farmed goby fish is the same as in the wild, when it comes to square water, it is normal to run several dozen kilograms, “Dao said. Goby fish after being harvested by “rat tail” is brought into the nets waiting for traders to come and buy. With two ponds of goby, the last crop has helped Mr. Dao earn a profit of over 100 million dong after deducting all costs. To catch goby fish, people often hire workers to pull or place rat tails to sell them gradually. “In the last goby case, I saved millions of dong because I didn’t have to hire someone to pull but used a mouse’s tail to catch fish. Harvested in a rolling pattern, so I can sell at a high price and even have traders come to my house to buy it,” said Nguyen Kieu Tien excitedly. Traders come to the pond to buy and use the profit shell to transport it Currently, commercial goby fish (30-40 fish/kg) is bought by traders coming to the pond with prices ranging from around 75,000 VND/kg (depending on the type).

The authors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have applied blockchain technology to build a system for issuing and managing diplomas and certificates. To issue a certificate, the training institution registers an account and logs in to the system to create embryos. After filling in the student’s information, the course, etc., the training institution can print it to issue a certificate or issue a digital certificate. Each certificate is issued with a QR code, which can be looked up and verified on the student’s information and the certificate on the mobile application. The system helps to reduce time and costs for training institutions and quickly detect cases of tampering. The glue that helps regenerate nerve cells Researchers at the University of Georgia (USA) have studied a special glue in the form of hydrogel to aid in the recovery of brain cells. The researchers implanted the hydrogel into mice with traumatic brain injury. After 20 weeks, the mouse’s cell repair process was enhanced, motor function improved. The results showed that this glue not only protects tissues from damage, but also regenerates functional neurons at the affected site. The results of the study hold promise for the medical profession to prevent cognitive decline or tissue loss in patients with traumatic brain injury. New battery development Russian scientists have developed a new type of battery that can be charged about 10 times faster than commonly used lithium-ion batteries. Tests show that the new battery can work well in emergency charging situations and in low-temperature environments. The new battery is also safer for the environment.

Fiona Adams, an Australian farmer, holds a rat that was killed by her dog. Photo: Sydney Morning Herald. As cats give up chasing mice and dogs risk death from ingesting rat bait, farmers across Australia have no choice but to improvise to deal with the raging rat disaster. For Eris Fleming, an artist and rancher on her family farm near Bakers Swamp in New South Wales, Australia, the creative approach was to create mini water traps – 15 – everywhere around my house. Mr. Fleming, 78, has seen the current large population of rats once before, in 1984. Although he initially tried placing rat baits like his neighbors, his German Shepherd “started eating the bait faster than the mice.” His dog started bleeding and needed urgent and expensive care to stay alive at the local veterinary clinic. “Vets are going to make a lot of money in this short time,” he said. Rats that have eaten bait will eventually decompose on the ceiling, in the walls and under the floorboards. “The stench is unbelievable,” he said. And so, buckets of water, narrow curtain rods coated with PVC and a layer of canola oil, and some peanut butter decoys, all designed to trap and kill rodents relentlessly. . Just like that, every morning, Mr. Fleming started by collecting dead mice, at least 300 a day. They will then be buried away from the house. It took him three hours a day to clear the bucket of dead rats, dig, bury the rats and reset the trap. However, he also saves time from having to clean every surface, such as clearing rat droppings off the table, and getting rodents out of bed or even out of the refrigerator. Several of Fleming’s neighbors followed his method, and they all reported massive exterminations of rats. Fleming currently counts only a handful of dead rats each morning, but the significant and welcome drop is probably more related to the fact that the rat population is turning to forage elsewhere, such as near Sydney than. Other techniques used by people in his county include a woman mixing powder with plaster to trick rats, although that still risks the rat decomposing in hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. Elsewhere, many people prefer to use traps made of expandable latex rings – like those used to castrate pets. Rats were killed by traps made of expandable rubber latex rings. Photo: Sydney Morning Herald. Improvisation will probably still be required as the supply of rat bait and rat traps continues to be strained. Rat-killer retailer Bunnings says demand started picking up in December and accelerated even further after April. “We have seen an increase in customer demand for rat control products across New South Wales,” said Belinda Rakers, Bunnings product manager. “Due to high demand, supplies are currently at a low level. However, we are continuing to work closely with our suppliers to get more stock in stores as soon as possible,” she said. In Neurea, near Wellington, Fiona Adams is using rat bait to at least keep the rats under control, but they still rummage through her barn at night. Her dog killed one even as she was talking to guests from the Herald visiting the farm on May 20. “I certainly don’t like them, but unfortunately, you have to get used to them,” she said. “They have cute little faces, but they are stinky little animals. Driving along the road at night, they are like toy cars.” Although the cold weather has begun to slow their growth, that hasn’t stopped them from eating all of the lupine beans Fiona planted on May 19, leaving only empty husks. For Fiona as well as Fleming, the scale of the epidemic was hard to imagine for many in Sydney and elsewhere. Rats can breed after just six weeks and then lay multiple litters within three weeks, triggering a population explosion. Farmers in the area who sold their livestock turned to hay production to take advantage of the bountiful rains, but only saw entire haystacks eaten by rats within a few months. After all, it will be up to science rather than temporary or other methods to control such a massive rat population explosion. “The only way you can prevent this is by doing research,” Mr. Fleming mused.

In a relatively primitive society, animals as well as humans will have to compete for food, territory, mating objects, and even wars between herds and tribes. So with lab rats living in a carefree place, what will ‘rat paradise’ be like?
Human society is increasingly developing, competing resources are not simply water, shelter or food but also minerals, oil, … and the scale of war also follows the historical flow. which is getting bigger and more dangerous. Furthermore, competing resources are intangible aspects, such as education, medical care, and work. The unequal distribution of these resources is often the focus of society in peacetime.

Everyone longs for a “paradise” free from disease, war, and oppression, although this paradise may not exist, but with the development of science, technology and society, we are getting closer. to heaven in the eyes of the ancients. We will also be curious about the future of human society. There are countless works trying to construct an impossibly beautiful perspective for exploring such issues, most of which of course have pessimistic results. In 1798, the British demographer and economist – Malthus showed in his thesis “Principle of Population” that the population increased exponentially but food production increased linearly. If things continued like this, it would reach a point where the population could no longer grow. The hidden content of this theory is that population growth does not necessarily bring prosperity, but can cause socioeconomic stagnation, hence the so-called “Malthusian trap”. After the end of World War II, the world gradually returned to prosperity, the United States ushered in a period of population explosion with a series of babies after the war, and with it, pessimistic views began to emerge. . Some people think that “overpopulation” can lead to a crisis, which in the short term will deplete resources for survival. This mentality of the majority of the population was immediately drawn to Malthus’ ideals. However, the success of the Green Revolution made Malthus’s model no longer valid, as food production spiked. However, the fear surrounding population explosion and its consequences still lingers here and there. Accordingly, a series of experiments demonstrating the effects of population explosion emerged. But a series of animal experiments seem to have yielded surprising results. Human estimates of resources for survival may still be too optimistic, but the real crisis coming from the population itself will seem obvious. The most prominent of which is the experiment of John B. Calhoun, an American expert specializing in the study of ethology and human behavior. John B. Calhoun and the Norwegian Rats. Calhoun was particularly interested in studying birds during his early years, and one of his studies was published in the journals of the Tennessee Bird Society at the age of 15. After that, Calhoun studied from bachelor’s degree to doctorate, and his research direction also gradually turned to animal behavior. Since his doctoral thesis was to study the 24-hour rhythm of the Norwegian rat, Calhoun’s work after graduation was also closely related to this rat. In 1947, Calhoun, then working at Johns Hopkins University, asked a neighbor to buy a piece of land less than 1,000 square meters to use as a laboratory. Then he decided to build an “artificial rat paradise” so that his rodents could live carefree. In the end, Calhoun named the place “Rat City”. With this amount of land, the area of the mouse city is not small, it is estimated that it can accommodate 5,000 rats, Calhoun also provides adequate food and water for his mouse subjects, while minimizing the maximum. the impact of disease and predators. Rats are only allowed to operate within the “city”. However, the development of the mouse city was not as smooth as imagined, even a bit bizarre. Calhoun initially included five pregnant female mice, but the reproductive rates of mice in this range were not as high as he had imagined. The number of rats in the study area never exceeded 200, and it stabilized at about 150, much smaller than the number of rats this “artificial paradise” could accommodate. Live rats cluster together in groups, and feed only at specific spots. This may have been the first experiment that brought Calhoun’s attention to population density. Five years after the failure of the rat city project, Calhoun joined the US National Department of Mental Health (NIMH) and was in a better position to design experiments on mice. At that time, Calhoun had a small team working with him, they improved the experimental environment on the mice as well as specially designed the breeding area so that the “artificial paradise” could work better. . The farming area is now only about 4.5 m long, 3 m wide, divided into 4 areas separated by electric fences, each area is equipped with unlimited food and water sources, there is also a multi-storey “apartment” that rats can enter in a spiral. The 4 areas separated by the grid are actually not completely isolated from each other, they are connected in pairs by 3 small bridges. Specifically, these four regions can be considered as four quadrants in the Cartesian coordinate system, where only a direct bridge exists that causes the path to move between the beginning – area 1 and the end – area 4 creating into a U shape. Calhoun designed a special feeding system, where solid food is kept behind nets and the collection process is not easy. In the first litter, but the residents here are reasonably arranged with a total of 32 mice, the number of males and females is equal and they are all adult rats that have reached reproductive age. According to the plan, the mice in the habitat would breed quickly, and the number would exceed the 40 limit for a short time, but Calhoun wouldn’t stop the experiment immediately. He would let the rats spawn to 80 and watch them. At first, the female rats were evenly distributed in the four regions, but when the fights between the males ended, the stronger males took over more females. Due to the design of four areas and three connecting bridges, a large number of low-status male rats will be concentrated in areas two and three, while the first and fourth areas become “swarms” of mice Males have higher status. At the bridge, the rats built their own barriers that prevented individuals from walking freely. Weak mice went to cages 2 and 3 to feed and could not return, only a small number of male rats remained in cages 1 and 4. At this point, the strange thing happened, the low-status male rat living in areas 1 and 4 – despite living among the females – had no desire to mate with the opposite sex. Instead they approached higher-status male rats, but the high-status males didn’t deny it either. The number of mice in the barn for 2-3 days is dense due to the continuous appearance of new litters of mice that “go and do not return”. At the same time, the rats’ eating behavior changed as they became accustomed to Calhoun’s feeding device. They refuse to eat alone, and only engage in net scavenging activities when and only in the presence of their own. The pressure from the population, from feeding (despite the abundance of food) creates a pattern that Calhoun calls a “behavioural sink”, roughly translated as “behavior alienation”; Rats begin to develop harmful behaviors. Under the influence of behavioral alienation, female rats have increased social interaction and decreased ability to care for offspring – and because young rats rely heavily on their mothers, herd numbers are at risk of decline. Whenever female mice move their nests, they often leave behind a large number of young mice. And yet, at the time of estrus, because female rats live in closed cages, they cannot escape from the males, and the brutal mating behavior in the cage affects the young even more. At one point, the mortality rate in the rat cage reached 96%. In dominant males, behavioral corruption causes them to become hysterical, frequently attacking their cagemates and even their young. In the vulnerable group of mice, Calhoun found traits that could separate mice into three distinct groups: The first type is called “pansexual”, they do not participate in competitions for social status, but will try to mate with any rat possible regardless of gender. or age. Not many individuals refuse this behavior. The latter, which Calhoun calls a “somnambulist”, is slow-moving, barely interacts with other rats, does not participate in social activities, and very few other individuals interact with them. ., but they are extremely fond of taking care of their appearance and are never violent. The third category, the group that most surprised Calhoun was named the “probes”. These are hyperactive individuals, constantly looking for opportunities to mate with rats of both sexes. Even if they were attacked by higher-status male rats, they would still frantically pursue females in heat. Once they reached the slums and found the young left behind, the fugitives found another source of nourishment. Continue: The end of the gruesome experiment, and the premise of the next one.

‘Rats are only beneficial when they are dead,’ Australian Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack declared war on the rat disaster, prompting the country to plan to use powerful rat poison.
New South Wales (NSW) state officials are suffering from a rat infestation, with 800-1,000 animals per hectare recorded. The Australian National Science Agency (CSIRO) calls it the “epidemic” rate.

For months, rats have ravaged fields and damaged homes in eastern Australia, from the Victorian border in the south to Queensland in the north, causing millions of dollars in damage to crops and machinery. A pair of mice can give birth to 500 more pups per season, the females give birth to a new litter every three weeks, and they constantly need more food. Rat “nightmare” for farmers in New South Wales, Australia. Photo: Pelgar International. The New South Wales government is considering a more drastic solution. On May 20, officials announced they had acquired 5,000 liters of one of the world’s most powerful rat poisons to treat rats. However, some residents fear the use of poisons could damage food crops and kill local wildlife. End of drought, Australia meets rats again “We’ve had long, bad years of drought, and then 2020 is going to be beautiful. But there’s always something great happening, and this year it’s a rat pandemic,” said farmer Michael Payten of the small town of Canowindra, west of Sydney, sigh. The rainfall in 2020 is roughly equal to the total rainfall two years earlier, making the soil fertile and yielding a bountiful harvest, but also creating ideal conditions for the rats. “Trying to count the number of rats that are harming Eastern Australia is like counting the stars in the sky,” said CSIRO researcher Steve Henry, considered by the New South Wales government to be Australia’s best expert on the disease. in mice, said. Rat extermination expert Sue Hodge clears dead rats from traps in her client’s home every day in the New South Wales town of Canowindra. Photo: CNN. According to Sue Hodge, a rat extermination expert in Canowindra, when winter approaches, rats even take refuge in people’s homes. Ms. Hodge spends her days dealing with dead rats trapped in a client’s home. She removed rat droppings from the kitchen, the children’s room and even their beds. In her home, Mrs. Hodge used steel wool to prevent rats from crawling in from every nook and cranny. She sets a mousetrap every night. According to the New South Wales Agricultural industry group, the loss of cereal groups such as wheat, barley and rapeseed, as well as forage, is having a major impact on the finances of farm businesses. The survey found that a third of businesses had an estimated loss of $50,000-150,000 ($38,000-116,000). The group warned that the total damage could reach hundreds of millions of dollars if urgent action is not taken. Government measures – immediate but too dangerous The New South Wales government is resorting to “heavy weapons” to end the rat disaster, after weeks of consultations with Mr Henry, CSIRO and farmers. Last week, New South Wales agriculture chief Adam Marshall unveiled “a scary set of tools for rat control”, including free rat poison for farmers. This week, thousands of liters of bromadiolone – a “second generation anticoagulant” has been introduced to effectively kill rats. However, Charles Sturt University ecologist Dr Maggie Watson says the toxin is “too dangerous” to use in the environment, as it can leach into the soil and bioaccumulate in insects. then join the food chain. She said native birds in Australia are all at risk of death after eating a poisoned mouse, and it takes up to 15-20 years for them to come back to life. NSW farmer Michael Payten calls his tractor shed a “rat hotel”. Photo: CNN. Proponents of the administration argue that bromadiolone is highly toxic and will likely kill some native predators, but there aren’t enough hawks and owls for the rat population to drop naturally. While the rat population is unusually high, farmers warn that they are running out of time to harvest the winter crop.

Australia has been repeatedly damaged by rats in recent years. Photo: Guardian. Australia’s National Science Service and the Department of Animal Health have agreed to issue an emergency license to the country’s pesticide agency to produce double doses of rat poison in an upcoming series of products. The dose and percentage of the drug in the wheat fields remained the same, but the amount of zinc phosphide (Zn3P2) in each dose was doubled. Zinc phosphide is an inorganic chemical compound, consisting mainly of two elements, zinc (Zn) and phosphorus (P). This compound exists mainly as a gray solid, with some commercial samples being dark or even black. It is mainly used as a rat poison. In addition, there are applications in the production of semiconductors. Zinc phosphide is very toxic. In many labels, the substance is marked “Highly Hazardous,” meaning that in amounts between 1 and 50 mg can be lethal. For many years, zinc phosphide has been widely used, but strictly controlled. However, for farmers in the eastern and southern states of Australia, the current dose of zinc phosphide is not enough to prevent rat infestations. Researcher Steve Henry of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) said that rats have a mechanism to quickly develop an aversion to lures, if the dose of zinc phosphorus in the drug is increased. “We call it the curry effect. If you go out, eat some food, and feel nauseous when you get home, you won’t go back to that restaurant,” he explains. This basis helps CSIRO boldly increase the dose of toxicity, although it increases the risk of death in humans, if accidentally exposed to the decoy. The high-dose drug will be on the market soon, and it will cost farmers about $1 more per kilogram. In eastern Australia, including parts of New South Wales and southern Queensland, where rats ravage crops and cause significant damage to hay and grain stocks, companies and farmers have been allowed to experiment. new drugs. Before that was agreed, scientists had hoped that heavy rain and colder temperatures would reduce the harmful effects of rats. However, that didn’t happen. In most of the affected towns, the rats, which can breed from 6 weeks old and give birth every 21 days, continue to destroy crops and even attack livestock. The New South Wales Farmers’ Association, said conventional rat poison products were in short supply, and prices skyrocketed. They needed a new direction, effective and immediate. The organization has partnered with the National Women’s Union, calling for a financial aid package for the rat epidemic. This group proposes, each farm is provided with $ 25,000 for the cost of rat poison. A survey of 1,100 farmers across New South Wales found that 94 per cent of their farms had been attacked by rats. On average per capita, each individual spent up to 150,000 USD on rat poison. A third of those surveyed revealed that the loss of grain and fodder stockpiles ranged from $50,000 to $150,000. 5& this number claims, they have lost more than 250,000 USD. Some farmers had to abandon the entire spring-summer crop. About 40% of farmers planted less seeds this past winter. More than 80% of respondents reported damage to machinery and infrastructure. And only a third suffered less than $150,000 in damage. Lisa Minogue, a farmer in the Barmedman area, said she washed her clothes 38 times in just three days. “The smell of rats is horrible. It’s impossible to know exactly how many are in the house,” she said. Rats have even attacked rural hospitals, biting patients. Many local health authorities have reported an increase in rat-related diseases. In New South Wales, about a third of farmers surveyed admitted their health was directly affected by the outbreak and 85% had trouble sleeping. Australian Women’s Union president, Danica Leys, said: “Everyone has been affected, from farms, to hotels in the area, to retail food businesses, to bakeries, supermarkets, malls, etc. child care centers and nursing homes. These financial and health ramifications all followed an unprecedented drought that triggered catastrophic wildfires. It’s time for the state government to act.” The Premier of New South Wales, Gladys Berejiklian, acknowledges the problems posed by the nasty rodents.” On 2GB radio, she said: “Depends on living, but the problem seems to be getting worse. more, due to the shortened reproductive time of mice. They are now too crowded, to the point of being difficult to control. The authorities are doing everything they can to avoid a natural disaster.” New South Wales Deputy Premier and National Leader, John Barilaro, said the state government and the Australian Government were speeding up lobbying to change the codes of conduct. “We need to support farmers so that they have enough bait to kill rats in the near future,” he told the National Assembly. New South Wales Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall left open the possibility of controlling diseases that can be spread by rat populations. Among them, the most dangerous and scary is the plague. “There is currently no clear suggestion to solve. Maybe, the government has to use strong measures, including ways that are considered illegal. All to help farmers fight the disease,” he said. emphasize. In the immediate future, Australian farmers still use traditional methods such as setting traps or using drones to drop bait with rat poison from above. However, the problem has only just begun, considering the rapid reproduction rate of mice. A pair of mice can give birth to new cubs after 20 days, giving birth to more than 500 young in a season. Adult female mice can lay litters 3 weeks apart.

People in Queensland and New South Wales have surrendered after half a year of battling a devastating rat epidemic, only hoping winter will reduce the rat population.
When rats began to appear in New South Wales and Queensland in late 2020, residents were as enthusiastic as if they were entering a war.

People then talked about strategizing against rats, setting extremely sophisticated traps, or fortifying houses against small but annoying enemies. Six months have passed, the number of rats has once again increased sharply, despite thousands of tons of rat poison used, not to mention a terrible flood that swept across the east coast of the country. Rats are no longer an enemy to be eradicated, they seem to have become annoying black fluffy clouds that move everywhere where people have to learn to live together, according to the report. Guardian . Nightmare The nightmare that Australia is experiencing is known as the “rat epidemic”, caused by huge populations of house mice. The house mouse was brought to Australia by Europeans in 1788. Since then, rat epidemics have occurred several times in Australia when conditions are favorable, with increasing frequency. This year, the situation became so serious that the New South Wales state government had to announce an emergency relief package of 50 million USD for people to fight the rat epidemic, including money for rat poison research, drug support. mouse and rat traps up to $1,000 per small business and $500 per household. Dead rat in a farmer’s warehouse in Walgett. Photo: Guardian. But for many people, the support is nothing compared to the damage the rats cause. “We were away for four weeks and had relatives check the house every day. There was a period of about four days when no one came to look, and in those four days, they were all over the house,” said Louise McCabe, resident in the town of Tallimba, said. When relatives were asked to open the door by McCabe, thousands of rats were inside. “They chewed up the new carpet, they ate the wooden floor. The oven they broke. They ate the insulation inside the dishwasher,” McCabe said. McCabe later discovered rats nesting inside pillows on lounge chairs, crawling into kitchen cabinets, destroying electrical circuits. Damages totaled up to $30,000. The climax was when the woman put the clothes soaked in rat urine into the washing machine. When she returned, she discovered a dead rat had swollen inside the glass. Meanwhile, a farmer named Ben Storer living in Walgett, said that 800 hectares of his sorghum has been destroyed by the herd, causing damage up to 200,000 USD. Rats attack every part of Storer’s farm, from the grain barn and the mill to the swimming pool’s filter pipe. At the height of the rat epidemic, thousands of dead rats were found every time Mr. Storer used a grinder to grind the grain he harvested. Baiting is the only measure that can be deployed on a large scale to control rat populations. As a result, in the worst-affected towns, the smell of urine and dead rats was overwhelming. Local residents described the smell of rotting rats as “unbearable”. “With poison, we can kill 100,000 rats a night. But the next morning, another 200,000 will come back,” Mr. Storer said. “No one understands the rat epidemic until they’ve experienced it. No one understands the extreme stench, vandalized furniture. Rats eat all the insulation in the air conditioning system, eat the wires on the roof, corrode parts of the circuit board,” said John Southon, principal of Trundle Central High School. Winter hope While local residents seem to have given up on the fight against rats, New South Wales authorities have stepped in. Experts say they have successfully developed a rat poison that can turn the tide of the current war. A new rat poison using a super toxic chemical called bromadiolone is being approved for emergency use by the New South Wales government. However, scientists warn the drug can be dangerous for native animals that eat the dead rat. Steven Henery, broaching expert with the Australian Agency for Science and Industrial Research, said the coming winter would be an opportunity for humans to put an end to the current rat epidemic. “My hope is that winter will slow down the birth rate of mice, and that only a very small number of mice will survive,” said Henery. One of the real concerns, Mr. Henery warned, is that the rat population has a high winter survival rate, and if the weather conditions are favorable the following spring, they will start to thrive again. Farmers burn fields after harvesting to destroy the rat’s food source. If they find any, then they will have to kill them before the breeding season. property arrives,” Mr. Henry said. Any human rat eradication strategy will only be able to reduce the rat population to a certain extent. Experts say that to be able to overcome the rat epidemic, humans will have to wait for the help of natural phenomena that are really terrible for mice. “The very large number of individuals interacting with each other increases the risk of disease transmission. When this phenomenon occurs at the same time they run out of food, they will fall ill and start eating each other, eating the animals. young. That’s when their whole growth system collapses,” said Mr. Henery. But until that day comes, people will have to keep setting traps, laying baits, and praying the weather will turn bitter cold. “I can only pray for freezing cold. That’s all I can do right now,” McCabe said.

The USB-C to Lightning cable that comes with the iMac 2021 is a highly anticipated product. After years of using less durable plastic, now Apple has equipped a fabric cover for the charging cable
According to the 9to5mac , the Lightning cable on the iMac 2021 is covered with fabric, although it is the same color as the machine. This makes the cable more beautiful, high-quality and difficult to break because the fabric despite its good tension, bending and twisting.

Although the Lightning cable was once rumored to be bundled with the iPhone 12, that didn’t happen. On the iPhone 12, Apple still comes with a normal Lightning cable, which is easily damaged and easily broken. The Lightning cable and power cord included with the iMac 2021 are covered with an umbrella. Photo: 9to5mac. Half a year after the launch of the iPhone 12, an umbrella-covered Lightning cable was included with the iMac 2021, used to charge the mouse, keyboard and trackpad. Of course, you can still use this cable to charge your iPhone or iPad. Besides the Lightning cable, the power cord connected to the iMac 2021 is also covered with fabric to match the camera color. For example, if you buy a red iMac, the Lightning cable and the power cord are covered with red umbrellas, increasing the aesthetics of the product. The iMac 2021 comes with a Lightning cable that covers many people. On Twitter, accounts Brad Fogle comment “Good” upon seeing the new cable. Some comments expressed surprise when the shielded cable was included with the iMac, not the iPhone. This cable is currently only included with the iMac 2021, not sold separately by Apple. Because the body is too thin, the Ethernet port of the iMac 2021 is brought to the power supply by Apple. Photo: Apple. “This is the cable I wanted to include with the iPhone, but it got a surprise in another product,” says author Chris Smith from BGR share. In 2019, Apple once donated a Lightning cable braided to the Mac Pro, but this is a high-end product, intended for professional users. In addition to the two fabric-covered cables, the new feature of the iMac 2021 lies in the power supply. On this generation, the power supply is placed separately from the outside and integrated with the Ethernet network port. The power port on the machine is magnet, not 3 pin as before. Launched by Apple at the event on April 20, iMac 2021 has 7 colors, 4.5K 24-inch screen, M1 processor, webcam and upgraded microphone. The device is expected to sell from the end of April with a starting price of 1,299 USD. Apple launches new purple iPhone and improved iPad Pro M1 During the Spring Loaded event taking place at 0:00 on April 21 (Vietnam time), Apple introduced a series of products including iPhone 12 purple version, new design iMac, AirTag card, iPad Pro M1.

Public opinion is interested in the story of Can Tho spending nearly 30 billion VND to fight the “copper squirrel” – the familiar name of the Western people for the hamster. Local leaders have also officially stated that this is just an estimate based on the scenario given that if the mouse damages 5% of the production area and that is the total cost of the next 5 years. .
Many people sighed at the explanation with this “if”. In fact, a lot of people in the West have been living well, even getting rich through “copper squirrels”, so now they hear about it costs billions of dollars to destroy them, people put question marks. An agricultural expert wondered why not try to lure and then sell hamsters to not have to spend money on the budget?

Both me and the West like it There is no specific statistic from the authorities or the local authorities of the western provinces that each year, from the resources … the hamster, how much money people make. In fact, passing through many western provinces and cities, especially areas with large areas of rice, sugarcane, pineapple (fragrant), cajuput, … large like Can Tho, An Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap. , Hau Giang, Long An, wherever we go, we also see the shop’s label selling “specialty” processed from hamsters. And, in daily life, the dish is processed from hamsters (Ben Tre, Tra Vinh also has coconut mouse, hamster), for a long time it has been a familiar dish in the meal, even at home. There were parties, guests, this specialty was brought to the top of the party. Grilled hamster is a favorite dish not only for us but also for Western guests. Photo: ĐSA. Not long ago, I returned to the Red Flag (Can Tho) and met Mr. Huynh Van Hoang (known as Hoang “the army”). His house is next to the People’s Committee of Co Do town. Unlike a few times before, with his forte dish he cooked the best (salt-fried lemongrass mouse), this time, he treated me to … dried rat. Seeing the rats that had been cleaned, seasoned, and dried for 2-3 consecutive days by him, we found it intriguing. When he put it on the hot charcoal stove, and then the scent of the rat’s flesh spread across the neighborhood, we just looked quickly until we were seated at the table. The landlord directly chops the raw mango, picks the herb leaves, then rips the mouse meat by himself, … In fact, for many people in the West, hamsters can be processed into many delicious dishes that cannot compare to anything else. When we returned to the Hong Ngu border area (Dong Thap) in the fourth lunar month, we learned that it was the time of the most delicious rat meat. Local people explain that due to the preparation for the rainy season, the weather is warm, fresh, the plants are green and sprouted many young shoots … Enjoy the “lucky” so the hamsters are fat this season, freshly baked, the fat flows down the sizzling coal, fragrant. At that time, we also went to the back of the water gantry, directly participating in the rat-making process. Unlike dry food, freshly baked rats do not need to be seasoned with any spices other than a little garlic and a little fish sauce. The rats were clamped on fresh bamboo branches, split in half and then put on a charcoal fire. We have eaten many times of the grilled coconut mouse and hamster, but that time, we still had to blurt out because of the sweet and fragrant taste in each mouse meat … The special thing is when I asked the dipping sauce for this rustic delicacy, the owner, a farmer over 80 years old, ran to the back of the kitchen, and later brought up a plate of pure copper fish sauce. As I ate, the host couple enthusiastically showed me how to prepare a variety of delicious dishes from hamsters, which are store of laksa leaves, boiled wort (with wine), boiled batch, sautéed leaves, stir-fried onions, stir-fried vegetables. , beware of coconut water, roast, roast, roast satay and steamed rice dishes … When I got back to Cao Lanh city, my colleague also let me enjoy the “pearl pearl” (part of the genitals of male mice) sautéed the palanquin and said that it belonged to “he ate, she praised”. Because it can be processed into so many delicious dishes, for a long time, people have … “honored” rat meat with squirrel meat. Many people call this fun “squirrel copper” also because of that. In Phung Hiep (Hau Giang) and Thanh Hoa (Long An), every day, tons of hamsters are loaded into trucks and transported to Ho Chi Minh City. There is a very special thing is that Western guests also love rat meat. Many times I endlessly witness “foreign visitors” tearing roasted hamsters, eating deliciously is like tearing grilled chicken. An Giang Provincial People’s Committee leader said, when he came to An Giang for a survey early last year, Mr. Jan Zahradil, Vice Chairman of the European Parliament’s International Trade Commission (INTA), Chairman of the Friendship Parliamentary Group European Institutes (EP) and Vietnam, surprised him and many of the members of the delegation with the grace of having lunch with a meat dish “squirrel”. Proposal was met immediately. That day, in addition to specialties such as sesame fish sauce, cotton fish cooked sour soup – braised fish, deep fried fish, … the table also added 3 dishes from the hamster, which is a dish. Rats roast, fresh grilled mice and sauteed rats. And that day, this Western guest was only eating mouse dishes. He said many times to Vietnam, eating many delicious dishes but did not have the conditions to enjoy the hamster dish. Many of his friends, including the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly XIII Nguyen Van Giau said “if you go to the West, you must try once to tell”. Finished dinner that day, Mr. Jan Zahradil kept whining and said “very gossipy”. The plan achieves two goals Returning to the story of spending billions of money to fight mice, after the press reports, the leaders of the People’s Committee of Can Tho city explained that it was a story related to the implementation of a directive of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Development. village. Based on the fact, Can Tho develops a plan to prevent and control plant infestation for the period 2021-2025. Specifically, in terms of rice crops from 2016 to 2020, 19,415 hectares of rice were damaged by rats. Can Tho’s plan is … if rats damage 5% of the production area, in the next 5 years, the total amount expected to be spent to support the people in coping with the epidemic is over 29.6 billion VND. And if the actual damage is like that, the proposed capital of the local budget is more than 22.5 billion dong, the remaining 7 billion dong, people “bear”. Traders come to Thanh Hoa district, Long An province, weigh the mouse to load them into a truck and transport them to Ho Chi Minh City. With this money, Can Tho is expected to organize more than 1,500 training courses, support 112,500 traps for farmers to control rats and 5,625 kg of bio-drugs. “The reality will depend on the situation each year. If this year, the prevention of rats is good, the following year will surely reduce the damage of rats. The detailed cost estimate plan was appraised and submitted to the authority to arrange the implementation in accordance with the regulations, but Can Tho was not available nearly 30 billion VND for prevention and control, ”said Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Summer, the person signed to issue the above plan. To make the public understand more about this plan, the Can Tho Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection explained that unlike pests and diseases, it only causes a decrease in yield, but if it is destroyed by rats, rice is often bitten off the base. , almost complete damage. “If based on the scenario of 11,200 ha of rice severely damaged by 50% of the area and 50% of the yield by the rat, it is estimated that 5,600 ha of rice would be damaged. With this area, if the rice yield is 7 tons / ha, there will be 39,200 tons of rice. And a loss of 50% in yield would result in a loss of 19,600 tons of rice. Calculated at the average selling price of 6,000 VND / kg, the number of damage is over 117 billion VND ”, this officer gave a calculation and also said that the weather factor was very favorable for mice to reproduce. A pair of parental mice after a year can produce 2,064 (?). Concerned about the fight against “copper squirrel”, many people, including agricultural experts, have different opinions. Professor Vo Tong Xuan, Rector of South Can Tho University, said the plan to spend nearly 30 billion dong to kill rats is too much money. “Using biological drugs to kill rats is not sure that this drug is not toxic and does not affect the environment. When sprayed, bio-drugs follow the water line, especially in the rainy season, it will spread to many places. As for the mouse trap, the State subsidizes it, whether the people will preserve it well, ”said Professor Vo Tong Xuan. The above plan to kill rats is budget-consuming but not likely to bring about high results, while farmers have many initiatives and tools to kill rats and take responsibility for their own fields. “These things, let the farmers take care of them. Every farmer is responsible, the rat bites his field so that the State takes care ”, Professor Vo Tong Xuan said and cited in the past time, pests and diseases in rice, farmers also actively sprayed. . Regarding community mousetrap (also known as plant traps), Professor Vo Tong Xuan concurred with the involvement of government officials. However, this method is only done when rats have high densities, potentially causing much harm. Professor Vo Tong Xuan also described the community mousetrap model, that is, on a rice field, functional departments rent about 500m² of paddy fields in the middle of the field, lure rats in, then catch and sell. With this approach, a commune in the key rice growing area of the West can make 2-3 community mouse traps. The proceeds from the sale of rats can compensate for the rent of the paddy field. Professor Vo Tong Xuan said that in Son Kien commune, Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province, there was a farmer who worked as a community mouse trap model and brought about economic efficiency. On the sidelines of a recent conference held in Can Tho, Mr. Le Van Thiet, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that killing rats or any other object should use total measures. In addition, in addition to manual methods (using traps, baits), the most effective method is to trap community because this method can kill rats on an area of up to 100 ha. According to Professor Vo Tong Xuan, in the first phase, the locality can experiment with the model of the Australian community mouse trap that has announced by the International Rice Research Institute. Since then, to see if luring mice into traps is effective or not, if seeing results, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development should widely disseminate them.

Compared to terrestrial creatures, the animals of the island have always been known for their exceptional size. From dwarf elephants, mini chameleons, ‘hobbits’, to giant mice, why is that?
In the past, people have discovered that isolated islands look like a place of curse. Most of the “inhabitants” who had migrated from the mainland to the island were unable to escape, and their body shape began to change significantly compared to their land brethren.

This is also known as the “island law”, which is an ecological geographic law in evolutionary biology. In general, among animals that migrate from land to island, large animals tend to be smaller, and small animals tend to get bigger – this is called giantism. Island gigantism. For example, an extinct species of giant hutias in the Western Indian Ocean Islands is the largest known rodent. Its weight can reach a staggering level (about 200 kg), equivalent to that of an American black bear. Another famous example is the Dodo bird on the island of Mauritius. Due to the fact that the island’s environment is devoid of predators, they have also grown to form large and flightless. In contrast to island giantism, a condition where body size becomes smaller after immigration to an island is called Insular dwarfism. The most typical example is the dwarf elephant found many times on islands around the world. Elephants have always been known to be the largest terrestrial stump, but some dwarf elephants can only reach the size of a pig. Those who have read Odyssey will be impressed by Cyclops. According to speculation, the Cyclops prototype was a dwarf elephant. 2000 years ago, the Greeks probably excavated the remains of a dwarf elephant on an island near the Mediterranean Sea. Its skull size was almost twice that of a human skull. Perhaps it was because they had never seen an elephant, so the Greeks imagined it as the skull of a one-eyed giant, and related rumors and myths were born from this. Animal species that also dwarfed the island environment also included species such as dwarf mammoths, small hippos and Florida island deer, all of which were one size smaller than their terrestrial counterpart. Among them, the most extreme dwarf island fauna is the mini chameleon (Brookesia micra) of Hara Island in northeastern Madagascar, Africa. It is the smallest chameleon known to mankind, the largest one measuring no more than 3 cm. It is worth noting that this dwarfism does not only occur in ordinary animals. Even we humans cannot escape the law of the island. The pop culture dwarves are not unfounded, the “hobbits” are real. Flores island in Indonesia has an area of only 14,000 square kilometers, but on this small island there used to be a small group of people who used to live. They are also “cursed” by dwarfism and this affects their stature. According to estimates from nine known fossils, this ancient human was only 1 to 1.2 meters tall and weighed about 25 kg. As we all know, the average 6-year-old modern person’s average height is more than 1.1 meters tall. This inevitably reminds people of the hobbits in “The Lord of the Rings”, so the ancient people on Flores were also known as “hobbits”. From a taxonomic point of view, the Flores belong to the same genus as us. Hence, they are also the smallest known human species. The ancestor of the Flores was Homo erectus. About 200,000 years ago or earlier, they moved on to Flores Island. Compared to the mainland, the island’s resources were very limited and the Homo erectus people were often hungry due to lack of food. If the people are short, there is a better chance of survival because they need to eat less. As a result, the dwarf gene is passed from generation to generation, and eventually develops into Floresians. Biological evolution has shown more than once that some strange things will happen on the islands. And from the changes in body shape of the other animals on Flores Island, you can feel the power of the law of the island. At that time, on the island there was a species of elephant named Stegodon florensis, only 1.5m high and weighing no more than 800kg. Their land-based compatriot is the elephant Stegodon zdanskyi. They are stronger and more powerful than modern African elephants, this species is about 3.8 meters tall and weighs 12 tons. But not all of the animals on this island have been reduced to the same size as the Flores and the Stegodon florensis, in fact, the small terrestrial animals that migrate here will achieve a Giant size beyond imagination. The most typical example is the Flores Giant Rat, since without natural predators, they are not even afraid of humans. Of course, this giant rat does not threaten the survival of the Flores Island biological population. Except for some insects, the giant rat Flores is mostly vegetarian. It can be said that biological evolution on the islands took place in a very strange way. Therefore, scientists always think of the first word “island” when discovering creatures with anomalous body shape. So what is the factor that causes the animals on the island to change their body shape? For many years, scientists have always wanted to summarize the general nature of the rules on the island, and try to solve that mystery. The first person to try to explain this phenomenon was a biologist named J. Bristol Foster. Therefore, this ecological geophysical law is also known as “Ford’s Law”. In 1964, his dissertation compared 116 island species with terrestrial species and plotted them in a table. In an article titled “Mammal Evolution on Islands,” Foster said that among the new “inhabitants” of the island, rodents tend to grow larger. Predators and ungulates will tend to be dwarfed. In general, large terrestrial species will be smaller and smaller land species larger on islands. In this regard, Foster also provided some tentative explanations. The number of species on the islands is much less than on the mainland, and the number of predators and competitors will decrease accordingly. This seems to be an advantage for small rodents. Because they do not have a predator, they always have a sufficient source of food and can control their fertility rate well. But hippos, deer and other large animals cannot do this. A lack of predators would also mean an overabundance and a shortage of food. Consequently, the smaller members of the population will have a higher survival rate and begin to affect the entire population. They grow from generation to generation and their sizes are getting smaller and smaller. Foster’s paper is simple, but at the time it aroused strong interest in the scientific community. Thereafter, more extensive research was conducted on the island’s organisms, and the island law was a little more refined. In fact, large organisms have more food choices and more easily control other species. Small organisms, on the other hand, require fewer resources, shorter reproductive cycles, and adapt faster. Therefore, in the island ecological environment, where every aspect is limited, these factors are very important and have special effects. Subsequent studies also found that the speed at which the island’s animals change body shape was indeed staggering. 24 km from the French coast, there is an island named Jersey. About 6000 years ago, the deer came here and completely isolated from the mainland. As a result, in this short time of thousands of years, the red deer on the island has shrunk by 1/6 of that of the people on the mainland. Fossil records show that it only took 5,000 years to dwarf a population of elephants from 4 meters in height to about 1 meter. However, it should be noted that the island laws are only a general model of evolution, not absolute law. The environment on an island includes many different factors, such as the size of the island, climate, natural history, habitat, biological relationships, etc. These factors will also affect the size of the island. animals on the island to a certain extent.

Even though it comes bundled with the new generation iMac, the Magic Mouse 2 wireless mouse has held the position of a charging port that has been criticized for many years.
In addition to the newly designed Magic Keyboard, the Magic Mouse 2 wireless mouse is an accessory sold with the iMac 2021, the computer model launched by Apple on April 20 with a colorful design, M1 processor and a number of upgrades inside.

Despite the addition of multiple colors that sync with the iMac 2021, the Magic Mouse 2 still keeps the charging port on the bottom. The Magic Mouse 2’s charging port placement is one of Apple’s silly designs. Photo: The Verge. Placing the charging port on the underside means Magic Mouse won’t be able to use it when it’s plugged in. According to the Tom’s Guide This charging port position is confusing when created by a company that focuses on the design, optimal user experience. Talk to The Verge Apple also confirmed that the only change to Magic Mouse 2 is adding more colors, the rest of the features have remained the same since the release of the mouse in 2015. Although the charging time is very fast, 2 minutes for 9 hours of use, having to turn upside down and plug the charger cord when the mouse is lying on your back makes many people feel confused. This isn’t Apple’s only “catastrophic” design. The first-generation Apple Pencil stylus also had a confusing way of charging when it had to be plugged into the iPad’s Lightning port. Not only absurd, the fact that a sharp object extending from the iPad charging port is also easy to cause impact and damage. The charging design of the original Apple Pencil was criticized by users for being too uncomfortable. Photo: Business Insider. By 2018, the new charging port problem is resolved when Apple introduces the 2nd generation stylus, connecting and charging by iPad via magnets. While you can’t charge and write, the new way of charging doesn’t affect your iPad’s use. Apple is also not an easy company to change the design. The “butterfly” keyboard on the MacBook has existed for 4 years, despite being criticized since its launch. Similarly, the new Apple TV remote received a design change on April 20, after 6 years of receiving many complaints. It seems that 2015 was the year Apple’s design team came up with the most dumb ideas. While most of the design has been upgraded, the charging port position on the Magic Mouse 2 has yet to show signs of change. The secret behind Apple’s success Apple’s success comes from the smooth combination of hardware and software. At the time of Apple, this strategy was still unfamiliar to many brands.

According to an owner specializing in selling rats and snakes in Hung Hoi commune (Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu province), the largest hamster (4-5 heads / kg) is currently priced at 70,000 VND / kg (on-site). According to Nguyen Thi Muoi, there are times when the supply is scarce, the price of a field mouse is up to 120,000 VND / kg. Photo: CK Similarly in Thoi Lai town, Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city, Ms. Ngoc Han, owner of a mouse trading point, said that the price of type 1 hamsters sold is 70,000 VND / kg, but mainly delivered in large quantities. for guests in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere. Buyers just need to call to inform the quantity, the mouse will be pre-processed, frozen, delivered to the place. As a hamster trader with decades of experience in Thoi Lai town, Ms. Nguyen Thi Muoi said that the current supply is plentiful and of good quality because many places are harvesting Winter-Spring rice. Currently, type 1 hamster (6-7 animals / kg) has a price of 80,000 VND / kg, a hamster of type 2 is lower with 70,000 VND / kg, and the smallest type is 60,000 VND / kg. According to Ms. Muoi, this price is high, but has decreased by about 20,000 VND compared to the time before Tet. At that time, the supply of mice was scarce, especially, sometimes the price increased to 120,000 VND / kg because there was no stock. Most of the rats here are taken from the border areas of An Giang province, sometimes hundreds of kilograms. The rest are from Soc Trang or Hau Giang. Particularly in Can Tho, sometimes hunters are sold, but the quantity is not much. According to PV’s research, the hamster is a long-standing ‘favorite’ dish, especially in the West. In pubs, rats are processed into dishes such as grilled, fried, fried leaves… with current prices ranging from 80-120,000 VND / plate. Fried mouse, a dish in a pub in Can Tho. Photo: CK Regarding the 30 billion VND mouse prevention plan of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, causing a ‘stir’ of public opinion recently, according to PV’s research. , Many localities in the Mekong Delta in recent years have had rat prevention plans. However, there is no specific funding for an annual or phased extermination program or plan. As in Hau Giang, funding for this is spent from the regular activities assigned by agencies, units and other legitimate sources of funding. Regarding the implementation content in the rat-killing plan of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, according to many farmers, some contents are not necessary, because they have many years of experience in killing rats in their fields, such as The plan sets out the training content for farmers, so “who does not know who to train yet”. Professor Vo Tong Xuan, a leading industry expert who has been attached to Mekong Delta agriculture for decades, also said that the amount of money spent to implement the plan is too large, and may not be as effective as the farmers themselves.

The price of hamster is more expensive than pork

Hamster is a “favorite” dish of many people, especially people in the West. In pubs, mice are processed into dishes such as grilled, fried, fried in leaves, … with prices from 80,000 to 120,000 VND / plate. Fried rats in a pub in Can Tho. (Photo: Tien Phong) Currently, many localities in the Mekong Delta are harvesting the Winter-Spring crop, causing the price of ham here to decrease compared to before the Lunar New Year. However, according to Tien Phong Newspaper, the price of hamster in the Mekong Delta is still high, equivalent to or higher than pork. Currently, type 1 hamster (6-7 animals / kg) has a price of 80,000 VND / kg, a hamster of type 2 is lower with 70,000 VND / kg, and the smallest type is 60,000 VND / kg. This price has decreased by about 20,000 VND compared to the time before Tet. At that time, the supply of mice was scarce, sometimes the price increased to 120,000 VND / kg. Vegetables fall back to Hanoi, 200 thousand / kg are still ‘sold out’ Vegetables in the forest or flowers in the forest are not too new to the people of the capital. However, this specialty forest vegetable is still very attractive every season, despite its extremely expensive price, which can be said to be the most expensive of all forest vegetables. Currently, the price of wild vegetables in Hanoi is up to 180,000 VND / kg, while the flower and vegetable price is 200,000 VND / kg, which is more expensive than American beef bacon. Compared to the price of industrial chicken, the price of this vegetable is 10 times more expensive. Compared to last year, this year vegetables are about 30,000-40,000 VND / kg more expensive. Lilies in the season, growers collect hundreds of millions Lilies are also known as lilies or lilies. This flower is known as “Queen of April” and every season, the trumpet shines on Hanoi’s street. Everyone takes advantage of buying packages like the plug. The trumpet is dubbed “the Queen of April” In the flower capital of Tay Tuu (Hanoi), farmers are rushing to harvest lilies. Every day, a household cuts thousands of flowers. Flowers can be cut wherever they are sold. Some households earn hundreds of million dong thanks to lilies. Compared with the price of flowers at the beginning of the season of 300,000-350,000 VND / 100 flowers, the price of lilies has decreased, in some places it is only 150,000-170,000 VND / 100 cluster flowers. White pear flowers damp, small traders pity to throw away Family & Social News newspaper, more than 1 month ago, hundreds of small businesses from Cao Bang, Lang Son frantically brought thousands of white pear flower branches (pears and tigers) to the capital for sale. However, this year, due to the epidemic effect of Covid-19, the number of flowers sold has decreased significantly compared to every year. Although the small traders have reduced the price of floor theater for each white pear branch, customers do not care. Therefore, a large amount of white pear flowers are damp, the small trader has to pityly throw it away with sugar. According to many small traders, the white pear flower brought from the northern mountainous provinces to the capital has not been so humid this year. The fact that the pear blossoms are damp has caused many small businesses to lose hundreds of millions of dong. Super giant plums imported from Australia cause fever Dinosaur plums imported from Australia (also known as dinosaur plums) are now being bought by many hunters. Compared with plums, this plum has 2-3 times the size and weight, every 6-7 fruits will reach 1 kg. When the fruit is ripe, it will give a beautiful red color, thick, hard flesh, sweet taste. Super giant plum (Photo: Dan Tri) Australian plum is currently priced from 180,000-220,000 VND / kg. Last year, at the end of the season, 1 kg of Australian plums cost 300,000 VND. The world’s most delicious rice ST25 is rampant counterfeiting As noted by Reporter Tien Phong, the rice market in Hanoi currently has dozens of types of ST25 rice offered by traders for prices from 28,000-40,000 VND / kg. Although the same brand ST 25, but all kinds of different models and packages. In addition to rice agents, social networks also appeared full of shops, shops, individuals who actively promote and sell “genuine” ST25 rice. After being named the world’s best rice, the ST25 rice was impersonated, counterfeiting rampant in the domestic market. According to Mr. Ho Quang Cua, the father of the ST25 rice brand, there are dozens of fake rice on the market, imitation of his brand. Hot season cooling products have strong discounts Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported that electronics centers in Ho Chi Minh City are implementing discount programs, giving gifts … to attract consumers to buy hot season cooling products. In which, air conditioner is the most preferential item with a discount from a few hundred to several million dong. Air-conditioner products attract customers (Photo: Lao Dong) In addition, electric fans, air-conditioning fans, and steam fans are also discounted by many electronics supermarkets up to 51% to stimulate demand. With the same season, the price is low, the pineapple is priced Recorded by PV Doanh and Tiep Thi in the largest growing place in Hanoi (Hiep Thuan commune, Phuc Tho district), this year, the season is good, but the revenue is not high. The price for ripening is reduced compared to every year, the wholesale price ranges from 7,000 to 28,000 VND / kg. Meanwhile, despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the export via quota to the Chinese market is in trouble, but this year, farmers in Lao Cai have a good harvest but do not worry about devaluation. According to Dan Tri Newspaper, the commercial pineapple market of Lao Cai province is being consumed strongly with prices from 5,500-6,000 VND / kg. At this price, pineapple growers will have a relatively high profit compared to previous years. Durian off season, Tra Vinh dried coconut high price News / TTXVN newspaper said that in Tien Giang, durian is in reverse with the consumption price standing at a very high level, about 90,000 VND / kg. According to the agricultural sector of Tien Giang province, with an average yield of 20 tons / ha, each hectare of durian produces up to 1.8 billion VND production value. After subtracting production costs, farmers profit not less than 1 billion. Durian has high prices (Photo: News / TTXVN) Also in Tra Vinh, the price of desiccated coconuts for more than a week has risen “fever” from VND 75,000 / dozen being collected by agents at the garden for VND 85,000 / dozen. The price of desiccated coconuts increases, but the supply in the province is still insufficient. Besides, from the beginning of March until now, due to the harsh hot weather, the demand for fresh coconut has increased, pushing up the price of fresh coconut to 120,000 VND / dozen. The price of Da Lat artichoke fell sharply According to News / TTXVN, gardeners in Da Lat (Lam Dong) are starting to harvest the main artichoke crop with an average price of only about 50,000-60,000 VND / kg, much lower than previous months. . Recently, the prices of processed artichoke products fell sharply. Currently, the price of dried artichokes is only 180,000-200,000 VND / kg, fresh artichoke flowers are 50,000-60,000 VND / kg, previously from 300,000-400,000 VND / kg. The reason why Da Lat artichoke dropped sharply was mostly due to the poor consumption, the decrease of fresh artichoke products for export. Hanh Nguyen (Synthetic)

In a study published in Science Robotics, a team of scientists in China designed a new kind of bio-hybrid mini robot.

Tests with neutrobots have been performed quite successfully in mice. It can use intelligent biological camouflage and overcome difficult barriers to get closer to the source of the disease in the body and offer the best treatment. The Preeminence of New Micro Robots Microbots are nothing new, it’s like disguising robots into bacteria or using magnets to move them across blood vessels. But what sets Chinese scientists’ new micro-robot designs apart from the crowd is that it can overcome one of the body’s toughest biological barriers, the blood-brain barrier (BBB) - a single layer. extremely high selectivity protection. Designed to stop pathogens and allow only nutrients to penetrate, BBB is the challenge of micro-robots that the body often considers an outside invader. It is very difficult for micro robots to cross this last line of defense and get closer to the hidden tumors behind it. One author of the above study is Professor Zhiguang Wu at Harbin Institute of Technology specializing in nanotechnology. The new micro-robots, he said, can overcome obstacles that hamper many conventional medical treatments. According to Professor Wu, “the passive diffusion of conventional drugs is subjected to a long, ineffective period of time and blocks biological barriers, which can lead to strong side effects. Meanwhile, the new swimming micro-robot / nano-robot, can move into hard-to-reach tissues using their propulsion, load different drugs and actively swim to diseased sites to transporting drugs ”. This is very important because when it comes to fighting cancer because the more targeted the treatment the better. It is especially true when it comes to brain tumors. Because the tumor is in a difficult position in the brain and BBB’s strong protection, drug treatment can be difficult, and removing the tumor requires brain surgery. Even then, usually only 90% of the tumor can actually be removed. In the past, micro robots were inspired by the way a bacteria or sperm move through the body. All light, acoustics and magnetic fields are used to propel them along the host’s body. Through it, a variety of biomedical tasks can be performed, including cutting the membrane, retaining the distributed drug in the gastrointestinal tract, and distributing the drug through the eye dropper. However, even though the researchers control the motion of these micro-robots more than typical drugs in the body, most micro-robotic designs still face one major hurdle: the body’s immune system, especially BBB. To fool BBB’s defense systems, scientists have designed a new micro-robot that is biologically camouflaged to “sneak through” the fence without being detected. The neutrobots are disguised and introduced into the bloodstream. How does the new micro robot work? The use of self-propelled, drug-dispensing micro-robots could open the door for scientists to get closer and more individual-based access to tumor treatment than oral or given medication. permission before. To treat glioma, a type of brain cancer, in mice, Professor Wu and colleagues have designed neutrobot-based micro-robots that can be controlled with a magnetic field. First, they created nanoparticles from a gel embedded with magnetic iron oxide particles, and the popular cancer drug paclitaxel. Next, these nanoparticles were encased in a disguised E. coli bacterial membrane. Disguised as harmful bacteria, these nanoparticles are submerged by in vitro mouse neutrophils much more easily than the bare nanoparticles that are not camouflaged. The researchers found that the camouflage also prevented drug leakage and made these particles less toxic to neutrophils. The research team tested the neutrobots’ ability to navigate and deliver drugs in vitro. Under the control of a rotating magnetic field, the neutrobots reach a speed of 16.4 µm / second – about 50 times faster than the natural neutrophil. By tracking the neutrobots under the microscope, the scientists can let them travel in complex directions on the artificial substrate. In their trials, the team showed that their neutrobots were able to successfully penetrate mouse BBBs to bring the drug into brain tumors. Despite these successes, scientists still have many things to do before they can be applied to humans. One issue that needs to be fixed, the authors explain, is how to better track each neutrobot as they pass through the body. Right now magnetic resonance imaging can track neutrobot groups as they move but cannot track individuals. “Our research has verified that treatment with neutrobots can prolong survival in mice with gliomas. Therefore, it may not be too long to bring stories about micro-robots in science fiction to reality, ”said Professor Wu.

It was all gathering a few hundred people but the two crowds were handled differently, according to CNN .

The first party was at Amsterdam’s Vondelpark – a green space with a stunning view in the Dutch capital. Hundreds of people celebrate the warm spring days of February together. “This gathering is illegal but we still participate. They couldn’t make us stay at home. We’re bored, ”one woman told Dutch TV. Crowds attend the Field Lab’s concert in early March. Photo: CNN. Video recorded by a local television channel in Amsterdam showed the excitement of young people present at Vondelpark. One guest in attendance stated that they were “fed up” with the epidemic prevention rules. After that, the police arrived and dispersed this crowd. The mayor decided to close all entrances to the park, except for the two gates, so that everyone could come here. The second gathering took place only a few kilometers away at the Ziggo Dome theater. Hundreds of people showed up to enjoy the songs that folk singer André Hazes, Jr. Shows. But this time, the police did not show up. The concert is approved by the Dutch government, not limited to a maximum of 30 people in the enclosed space. Audiences were tested negative for Covid-19 for no more than 48 hours prior to the concert. They also wear electronic bracelets for easy tracing. The concert is essentially part of a test backed by the Dutch government to see if the event planning industry can stand its ground amid a slow rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination. CNN . Vivian Nagelkerke (26), who went to the concert with a friend, said: “It’s like a dream where everything is allowed. I felt lightheaded to go back to the theater. Before the pandemic, I attended 3 concerts a week ”. The attendees have their temperature measured and must have a Covid-19 test paper no more than 48 hours before entering The Ziggo Dome theater. Photo: Ferdy Damman / AFP. Fun mouse experiment Eight mass gatherings took place in March as a result of months-long negotiations between the Dutch government and Field Lab – a group of researchers. They held a series of events, from dance festivals, seat concerts to soccer matches, to study the behavior of attendees, while also monitoring any possible infections. happening. “So far, the ‘lab rats’ (referring to event participants) are very happy to be involved in the study,” said Andreas Voss, professor of infection control at Radboud University, laughing. Although no exact results have been released yet, Voss said by comparing data from concert attendees to national population data, the team believes attending an event can help. strict management with the early Covid-19 test is no more risky than daily life in the Netherlands. “To date, the risk has been mostly lower than in untested cases, out of the event. We are sure to have promising results, ”he said. The Dutch Minister of Health agrees. In early March, he called the Field Lab’s initial discovery “truly encouraging”. Cheerful, happy crowd attending the concert after such a long time. Photo: Ferdy Damman / AFP. Of course, there is still a risk not only for those who have attended the events, but also to whom they subsequently come into contact with. Therefore, the organizers asked the attendees to limit their contact with anyone in the vulnerable group, and to test Covid-19 5 days after the end of the event. Field Lab reported that to date, only 5 out of 6,000 people who have attended public events they organize are positive for Covid-19. However, they are not sure if the cases were transmitted from the Field Lab event. Emily Denissen “felt flustered” to attend public events. Photo: NVCC. Emily Denissen, who celebrated her 32nd birthday at one of Field Lab’s concerts, happily recounted: “What happened that night was amazing. Everyone to relax, enjoy their best ”. Part of the story “let loose” means forgetting about the epidemic room rules for the audience. Once they have consumed alcohol, many people take off their masks and forget about social distance. However, that was not too surprising, nor was it bad. “We are not influencing them in any way,” said Professor Voss. We also do not prompt to follow the rules, because we want to know what will happen in real-life events. “It is true that during music festivals masks are removed more quickly,” he said. Meanwhile, at auditorium events, business conferences and soccer matches, more than 94% of attendees maintained wearing masks. Despite being the subject of research, Niels Fekken (21 years old) can not hide the happiness of attending a concert after more than a year at home due to the pandemic. “I can barely describe it with words. Unbelievable. From last year until now, maybe this is the first time I feel so happy, “Fekken shared with CNN .

Mosquitoes transmit diseases such as chikungunya, dengue fever and zika. (Source: wwmedgroup) These mosquito carriers, species rodent animals Destroying crops, wood boring insects, and even domestic cats are invasive species that are causing enormous harm to humans and the natural environment. According to a study published March 31 in the journal Nature, researchers working at the Laboratory of Ecology, Taxonomy and Evolution at the University of Paris-Sacla in France estimate invasive species. the so-called damaging alien species has cost the global economy nearly $ 1,300 since 1970, averaging $ 26.8 billion a year. The actual number could be even higher, researchers warn. The team synthesized a wide range of harms that invasive species cause to different habitats, including plants, insects, reptiles, birds, fish, mollusks, microorganisms or animals. mammal. Most harm is related to ecosystems, crops, fisheries and disease control measures. The team has made a preliminary list of the top 10 invasive pests, including the plant-eating rats and the Asian gypsy moth – two species that are devastating crops across the Northern Hemisphere. The list also includes zebra mosquitoes native to Southeast Asia that transmit diseases such as chikungunya, dengue fever and Zika. According to the researchers, the average annual damage caused by invasive species triples every decade. However, there is some evidence that the number of invasive species has increased “exponentially” due to increasing international trade, as humans import many species of organisms. In Australia, wild rabbit populations of European origin, first recorded in the early 19th century, have become invasive species causing great harm to the ecology of the Oceania nation. this over the past 150 years. They reproduce at an uncontrollable rate, consume soil, damage native species, as well as destroy crops with billions of dollars in damage. On the island of Guam, US overseas territories in the Pacific, invasive brown tree snakes native to Australia and Indonesia have “slaughtered” the majority of native bird and lizard populations since being accidentally brought in to come here in the mid-20th century. They also threaten people and sneak into equipment, causing frequent power outages. In forests in the US and more recently Europe, the longhorn beetle originating from Asia is also destroying the vegetation, causing serious damage to the ecosystem. According to the study, domestic cats are also among the top 10 invasive pests. This animal that has been “traveling” around the world for hundreds of years has now become an “invasive” species on most islands in the world, “slaughtering” birds, reptiles and animals. Amphibians in many parts of the world. The United Nations Scientific Advisory Committee on Biodiversity (IPBES) said that it is among the top 5 culprits of environmental destruction worldwide, along with changes in land use and resource exploitation. , pollution and climate change. In 2019, IPBES estimates that the number of invasive species has increased to 70% since 1970 in the 21 countries studied. Laboratory director on Franck Courchamp said international trade will increase more species of organisms introduced, while climate change will help more of these imported species survive and thrive. With the above research, scientists hope that by giving a figure of the damage caused by invasive species, people as well as authorities will raise awareness about the severity. of invasive species. Early detection, good data combined with preventive measures can significantly reduce the damage invasive species cause. The researchers also hope this issue will be included in the list of the serious environmental challenges facing humanity to receive more attention.

In the viral photo, one can see the glimmering figure of Song Hye Kyo who is filming the scene in the movie. The post quickly received a lot of attention from Korean netizens.

The movie Song Hye Kyo has not aired yet has received positive “feedback” from Korean audiences.

While Song Hye Kyo’s movie has not been broadcast yet, has been praised by the audience, the Mouse ekip, starring Lee Seung Gi, was criticized by the netizens. The reason is that the crew was filming in front of the people’s house but did not ask for permission, making noises until late at night, the crew of the crew did not wear a mask during the Covid-19 translation, causing many people to call the police to handle it. .

Ekip Mouse received fierce criticism for his unprofessional work affecting those around him.

Talking about Now, We Are Breaking Up, this is the movie where Song Hye Kyo will take on the role of Ha Young Eun, the design leader at a major fashion brand. She has an independent, strong, intelligent personality and always controls everything very well. Ha Young Eun is the representative of the modern generation of women who value their careers and do not waste time on boring love relationships. However, things began to change when Ha Young Eun met Yoon Jae Guk (Jang Ki Yong).

The film is expected to air in November next.
