The ‘mini beaches’ nestled between the undulating sand dunes are the unique landscape that nature has bestowed here.
When it comes to the desert, people often think of a dry land all year round, surrounded by only sun, wind and sand. In fact, on the world travel map, there is a place where the desert mixes with the water in an amazingly beautiful and perfect way. It is one of the most unique and attractive places in Brazil but little known is the Lencois Maranhenses National Park.

This land is large with winding white sand dunes interspersed with turquoise rainwater lagoons. Lencois Maranhenses has an area of about 1,500 square kilometers, made up of many large, deep white sand dunes. So at first glance, it looks like a desert. (Photo: Whenoneearth) Because it is located just outside the Amazon basin, this area often receives huge rainfall around the beginning of the year. Rain created a unique scene. Because of the low, flat terrain, when the rainy season lasts, clean water gathers in the valleys between the dunes, and at the same time, a layer of anti-permeation rock under the sand prevents water from seeping into the ground. As a result, blue lagoons between the fine white sand dunes were formed. Because of that uniqueness, this place is often called “the flooded desert”. (Photo: @flymaniacs) The many types of fish that can thrive in freshwater lakes are thought to have come from birds that carried their eggs from the sea. The park also possesses its own unique flora and fauna that have adapted to the periodic drying up of the area. When the dry season comes, the area of the lake decreases, and the creatures inside are also reduced. (Photo: Whenoneearth) (Photo: Whenoneearth) Endless deep turquoise lakes winding through white sand dunes create a natural landscape that is both unique and beautiful. The special thing is that when taking photos, depending on the angle of the shot, visitors can “fool” netizens that they are in the middle of a large, arid desert or sunbathing on a clear blue water beach despite the fact that not so! (Photo: G-switch) “Wetland desert” is most beautiful during the period from July to September when the lakes are at their fullest. From October to November, there are strong winds blowing from the sea continuously, which hinders tourism because of dangerous sand flying. In addition, between January and June, the amount of rain in the national park is quite heavy, leading to longer nights than days, making the beauty of this place no longer show perfectly. Therefore, if you want to fully experience the attraction of Lencois Maranhenses National Park, it is best to come here between June and September because then the lakes are relatively full and it is not too sunny. There is also not much rain, so it is easy to visit and check-in freely. (Photo: @lencoismaranhenses) (Photo: Whenoneearth) (Photo: @lencoismaranhenses) (Photo: @lencoismaranhenses)

Rare rains in early summer have brought the green of the forest back to Yok Don National Park. This is also the time when the Yok Don National Park Ranger force somewhat breathed a sigh of relief. Because, in the dry season (lasting from November to April next year), the forest protection force always faces many difficulties, especially the protection of wildlife.

Ranger Station No. 8 coordinated with Dak Rue Border Gate Border Station to detect animal traps placed in the forest. Photo: Ngoc Lan Yok Don National Park was established in 1992, is the second largest national park in the country, with an area of 115,545 hectares and is also the only place to preserve dipterocarp forest (DDF) in Vietnam. DDF is a unique type of forest ecosystem, containing many important and endemic species. Yok Don National Park is home to many wildlife species, including 92 species of mammals, 373 species of birds, 18 species of amphibians, 55 species of reptiles, 373 species of birds and 1,006 species of plants, hundreds of species freshwater fish and thousands of species of insects. Many of these species are listed in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Mr. Pham Tuan Linh, Director of Yok Don National Park said: “Yok Don National Park manages and protects a large forest area. Meanwhile, the swidden area of the people is interwoven with the forest area managed by the Ranger Stations, so the subjects take advantage of the forest to hunt, shoot, trap and catch forest animals. In particular, during the dry season, when the vegetation is on fire, forest animals will move into semi-evergreen and evergreen forest areas for shelter and in places near the remaining water sources in the forest such as forests. lake, puddle. Taking advantage of this behavior of forest animals, many subjects have hunted, shot, and trapped wild animals. Since the beginning of 2020, the Yok Don National Park Ranger force has promptly detected, prevented and handled 37 cases related to wild animals. In which, there are 20 cases with owners and 17 cases without owners; The seized exhibits include 5 individuals of wild animals and more than 120kg of animal meat. In addition, the Ranger force also seized 27 custom shotguns and more than 150 cable traps of all kinds. Most of the main violations are hunting, trapping, illegally catching wild animals and transporting, buying and selling wild animals, violating the State’s regulations on forest protection (carrying vehicles, tools, etc.). illegal hunting of wild animals). Although the number of cases is not large, it has shown the initiative in deploying many preventive measures early and remotely by the Yok Don National Park rangers. For many months now, Mr. Nguyen The Cuong, Deputy Head of Ranger Station No. 9 of Yok Don National Park, and his teammates have had to stretch themselves constantly at a key point deep in the forest, he shared: “The 9th Ranger Station manages the forest. manage and protect 17 sub-zones, equivalent to about 17 thousand hectares of forest. This area is located in the core zone of the National Park. During peak times, there are days when the Station has discovered more than 10 wire traps of all kinds. Most of these wire traps are located in evergreen forest areas and near puddles and water holes in the forest, when animals come to drink water, they will easily get caught in the trap. Specifically, the incident happened on May 5, 2020. During the process of patrolling and undercover, the Ranger force of Ranger Station No. 9 discovered and arrested 6 subjects who violated regulations on wildlife protection; The confiscated exhibits include more than 10kg of dried wild boar meat, a living Mang (roe deer). Ranger Station No. 9 has sanctioned administrative violations against the subjects. In the first half of May, 2021, the Ranger force of Ranger Station No. 9 discovered and seized more than 33 wire traps of all kinds that are installed in the forest. The Force of Ranger Station No. 9 asked the violators to release wild animals back into the natural environment. Photo: Ngoc Lan According to Deputy Head of Forest Protection Station No. 9, if these traps are not detected and seized in time, forest animals will be at very high risk of being trapped. seriously injured or dead; Many times when the patrolmen also encounter these traps, which are very dangerous… Therefore, in order to promptly prevent activities of encroachment and destruction of forests, especially wild animals, the Ranger Station No. 9 has arranged 3 key positions, stationed at key places, coordinated with patrol activities around the area where objects can be used to hunt and capture animals. In addition, the station also cooperates with officers and soldiers of Se Re Pok Border Station and Dak Lak Border Guard to patrol and protect forests. Not only Ranger Station No. 9, but all 16 Ranger Stations and Mobile Teams of Yok Don National Park must always strengthen the force of stationing, latching and clinging to the forest, especially in the dry season to promptly detect and prevent forest encroachment. The coordination work is also effectively implemented by the Ranger Stations, especially with the Border Guard stations in the forest area of Yok Don National Park. Pham Tuan Linh, Director of Yok Don National Park emphasized: “In order to manage and protect forests in general and protect wildlife in particular, Yok Don National Park has directed the implementation of many drastic measures. synchronously, such as increasing the frequency and density of patrols and secret uniforms of the forest rangers, combining patrolling and secret uniforms with focusing on de-trapping and applying science and technology in the process of performing tasks. . At the same time, promote legal propaganda and education to each population in the buffer zone in order to change the habit of depending on the forest of some people. We also work closely with relevant authorities and local authorities, in which, effectively implement the regulation on coordination with the Dak Lak Border Guard Command, between ranger stations and border guard posts.

The 75 meter high eucalyptus tree includes 165 steps to challenge Australian adventurers Many visitors describe the experience of climbing the 75-meter ‘Dave Evans Bicentennial’ ancient eucalyptus tree as intimidating. Of course, the trip is not for those who are afraid of heights. Around the tall tree, people plug 165 ‘stairs’ which are iron stakes attached to the winding tree trunk. The Dave Evans Bicentennial eucalyptus tree, located inside Warren National Park, near Pemberton, West, is Australia’s highest fire observation site. The first time people inserted iron steps into a tree trunk was in 1988, marking 200 years since the arrival of British ships in Sydney in 1788. Now, this giant tree has become an attraction for adventurous tourists who want to conquer the towering tree and enjoy the panoramic view of the green national park. Adam Scott, a TikTok user shared a video of his recent conquest of a giant tree. According to Adam Scott, the only way to go up is to step on a series of iron bars hammered into the side of a tree more than 30 years ago. Adam Scott, who owns a TikTok account with more than 28,000 followers, said: “This is definitely Australia’s scariest attraction. This thing is so sketchy, how have they been around for so many years. “. In his first conquest, Adam Scott climbed to a height of about 25 meters above the ground. There are no seat belts or any instructions. On the way to climb the tree, there will be only you and the space seems to have no end under each iron stake. “If you fall, there won’t be anything to support you,” says Adam Scott. On the TripAdvisor page, many tourists who have joined the journey share that ‘if you are a thrill-seeker, you will love this adventurous tree climbing trip’, ‘Tree climbing is a great experience but sure. Not for the faint of heart’, ‘The distance between the stakes is very large so be careful’, ‘Although the distance is very large and 75 meters high, no one has actually died while climbing a tree’… To participate in this unique experience, you need to buy a Warren National Park pass, 12 USD, or about 276 thousand VND per vehicle, at the Pemberton Visitor Center. Then, traveling by car for about 15 minutes, you will see the old Dave Evans Bicentennial tree.

Nestled in the overlapping limestone mountains in Phong Nha – Ke Bang are rare primates that are proliferating, because they live in tropical rainforest conditions – an ideal shelter plus The food source is inexhaustible and conservation is strictly maintained.

Primate’s “Kingdom” Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh is known the world over with the title “Kingdom of Caves” because there are hundreds of caves with fanciful beauty and hidden mysteries and surprises. is discovered. Not only that, this place is also known as “Primate Paradise” because it has the highest number of primate species and density in Vietnam. Notably, the whole Vietnam has 24 primate subspecies, here there are 10 species and subspecies living, lasting with time and is identified as the place with the highest diversity of primates in the National Parks. In which, there are 3 globally endangered primate species: the white-necked langur, the brown-shanked douc langur and the white-cheeked gibbon. When coming to any limestone mountains in Phong Nha – Ke Bang, many people are surprised because if they can’t meet monkeys, it is easy to admire the splendid beauty of the brown-shanked douc, or heard the sacred song calling the herd of siki gibbons. The forests: Hung Dang, Hung Lau, Tro Mong… are frequent spots of brown-shanked douc and white-necked langurs. While the white-necked langur often occurs in the Tro Mong area, many people have found that the brown-shanked douc is abundant in Hung Dang. Mr. Le Thuc Dinh, Director of the Center for Rescue – Conservation and Biological Development of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, said that every day when “surveying” or patrolling, officials in the National Park easily encounter douc paws. brown with the number of about 3 herds, each group about 15 individuals. The brown-shanked douc with its brightly colored fur, is considered by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as the “queen” in the primate world. Meanwhile, in the U Bo forest area, located on the West branch of Ho Chi Minh Road, is the largest population of siki gibbons (local people call it song gibbons) in Vietnam. Here, scientists and rangers recorded about 41 herds of siki with hundreds of individuals. According to Mr. Dinh, in this National Park, there are many primate species belonging to rare goods, such as: loris family, there are large loris, small loris; monkey family, there are pig-tailed monkeys, moldy monkeys, yellow monkeys, red-faced monkeys, jet-black langurs, white-necked langurs, brown-shanked douc langurs; and the gibbon family has the white-cheeked gibbon… According to research documents with unspecified statistics, the white-necked langur alone is estimated to have about 700 individuals; brown-shanked douc, estimated at over 500 individuals. White-necked langur in the area of Doi mountain in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park Primates are being cared for, rescued and conserved in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park The place to save primates With the rarity, especially there are rumors about the miraculous value of monkeys and apes, so primates in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park always face a great threat from hunting and trafficking. The illegal sale of wild animals makes the officials and experts working here very hard in the work of protection, conservation and prevention. Center for Rescue, Conservation and Biological Development of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, where many officials are working every day to rescue and nurture dozens of precious and rare primates in danger of extinction, like : brown-shanked douc langur, red-eyed monkey, white-cheeked gibbon… The center is located on the banks of the Son River, where it has a mild climate and an abundant food source for rescued primates. Busy preparing lunch for a red-faced monkey, Pham Kim Vuong – Head of the Wildlife Rescue Department, said that this monkey was very pitiful, previously being hunted by a group of people into the forest. Thanks to the forest ranger’s discovery, this monkey was saved. However, his spirit was panicking, his body was injured due to being entangled in an animal trap, fortunately thanks to the careful care of the brothers in the rescue department, his health is now stable and ready to return to the natural environment. Veterinarian Le Ngoc Anh, deputy director of this center, said that wildlife rescue activities have been carried out since its establishment in 2001. However, the rescue infrastructure is still very poor at this time. temporary, there is no animal rescue area, so the rescue only focuses on a few endangered species. From 2015 to now, the unit has received nearly 600 wild animals; The rescue success rate is nearly 90%. Currently, the center is continuing to nurture and rescue dozens of wild animals. “The care is not simple, it’s hard work, sometimes in the face of danger,” said veterinarian Le Ngoc Anh. Develop a conservation strategy lược Mr. Pham Hong Thai, Director of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park Management Board, said that the unit has developed action programs on wildlife protection and conservation; endangered, precious and rare forest fauna and flora to meet the requirements of conservation according to the actual situation. From 2015 to now, people have been propagated to be more conscious and responsible in handing over wild animals for conservation, including rare primates: pig-tailed macaques, golden monkeys, monkeys Coc, small loris, border mountain turtle, Ha Tinh langur… In addition, in order to contribute to the good implementation of wildlife conservation, the National Park has also signed a regulation on coordination with the provincial border guards, forest rangers and authorities of 7 buffer zone communes to prevent the transportation of forest products. illegal; Sign a commitment not to violate regulations on forest protection, not to trade, trade or consume wild animals for households, restaurants in the buffer zone communes and mining and trading units. travel…

If you were asked to imitate a gorilla, what would you do? Typical moves are quick pats on the chest with two hands one after another, making a thumping sound, so why would the gorilla act like that?
The image of male gorillas hitting their chest with their hands is deeply ingrained in many people’s heads. But why do they like chest banging? It is speculated that the act is to exchange certain information, but no one knows the exact answer to what the information is being conveyed.

Now, the wild mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park has “confessed” to the scientists secretly beating their breasts. The research has been published in the journal Scientific Reports under Nature and led by Dr. Edward Wright of the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany. The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of two eastern gorilla subspecies, comprising two populations. A population found in the Virunga volcano in Central Africa belongs to three national parks: Mgahinga, in southwestern Uganda; Volcanoes, in northwestern Rwanda; and Virunga in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The remainder was found in Bwindi Prohibited National Park in Uganda. Some primateists consider the Bwindi population a separate subspecies, although no complete description has been made. As of November 2012, an estimated total population of mountain gorillas was 880 individuals. From January 2014 to July 2016, researchers observed 25 wild male silver-backed gorillas overseen by the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International), and recorded more. 500 chest beats. They recorded the chest pounding sounds of six of the gorillas, measured the rhythm and duration of each gorilla’s chest beat, and the frequency of the chest beating sounds. At the same time, they used the photographs to measure the shoulder widths of these gorillas to determine the sizes of different gorillas. Mountain gorilla. Mountain gorillas are descendants of monkeys and ancient apes found in Africa and Arab in the early Oligocene (34-24 million years ago). The fossil where the mountain gorilla lives is poor and its evolutionary history is unclear. About 9 million years ago, a group of primates evolved into gorillas, separated from their common ancestors with humans and chimpanzees; This is when genus Gorilla comes in. The mountain gorilla split from the eastern delta gorilla about 400,000 years ago and the two subspecies split from the eastern gorilla about 2 million years ago. There is much unresolved debate about the classification of mountain gorillas. The genus Gorilla was originally named Troglodytes in 1847, then renamed as it is today in 1852. By 1967 taxonomist Colin Groves proposed that all Gorilla genus consisted of only one species (Gorilla gorilla) with three Subspecies Gorilla gorilla gorilla (western plains gorilla), Gorilla gorilla graueri (delta gorilla found in western Virungas) and Gorilla gorilla beringei (mountain gorilla). In 2003, after review, gorillas were divided into two species (Gorilla gorilla and Gorilla beringei) by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). After analyzing these measurement data, they found that “mountain gorillas can reliably transmit body shape information by beating their chest”. Specifically, large males will emit a lower frequency sound when they strike the chest. Researchers speculate that this may be related to their body’s large resonance cavity. Researchers also found that males beat their breasts more often during oestrus in female gorillas, so the sound of the chest beats could be an important body manifestation during flirting, a on the one hand, attracting children, and on the other hand, frightening the opponents. Interestingly, the beats and timing of these gorillas have nothing to do with body size, and not that the larger the size, the longer the beat. The chest beat of each gorilla is like a behavior showing the different personality, duration and frequency that will carry the characteristics of each individual. Researchers have analyzed that personalized beats could allow other gorillas to distinguish who was beating their chest from them. Mountain gorillas have been reported to have led to a threat of extinction due to poaching – mountain gorillas are often permanently injured by traps. hunt wild animals or take young individuals to zoos. Occupation – the rapid expansion of people’s settlements around the park’s safety corridor. Disease – mountain gorillas are regularly in contact with tour groups from all over the world, they can completely infect human infections. War, political turmoil – refugees flock to mountainous areas, cut trees and hunt gorillas for their meat for temporary life. Because of the above reasons, the World Animal Protection Organization and the host country authorities have increased patrols, using armed soldiers to remove traps, in addition to the work of determining the number of Gorillas mountain remaining. Expand the area of the national park, require tour groups to stand away from monkeys, better manage this type of ecotourism. Another important part is educating local communities, spreading propaganda through materials and books and teaching students about biodiversity and protecting endangered animals. Ultimately, the scientists concluded that mountain gorillas live in dense rainforests, and sometimes they cannot see each other even when very close, but throbbing conveys personal information. it’s important for them to communicate.

Vietnam and China are the two countries recording the most distribution of species of this genus. In recent years, there have been many new discoveries and announcements of species of this genus, which have significantly added to the national and regional biodiversity. Tea my Bidoup – Camellia bidoupensis (Source: National Park Bidoup-Nui Ba). Two new Tra my species were discovered and announced in the first months of 2021, at Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, including tiny camellia (Camellia flosculora Curry, VS Le, CQ Truong & VD Luong, sp.nov. ) and Tra my Bidoup (Camellia bidoupensis Truong, Luong & Tran, sp.nov.). Tiny flower tea was first sampled in the dwarf forest on the mountain top in the area of Hon Giao, Bidoup National Park – Nui Ba. This is a small to medium, evergreen tree, 3 to 8 meters high, with oblong and hairy, lanceolate leaves. The tree blooms in September – October, is white, with flower sizes from 0.5 to 0.7cm, this is Tra My with the smallest flower size in the world recorded up to the present time. Little flower tea – Camellia flosculora (Source: Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park). Tea my Bidoup is a small to medium tree, evergreen, from 3 to 7 meters high, the bark is gray-brown. The leaves are round or elliptical wide, 8 to 12cm long, 3.5 to 5.5cm wide, and thick. The tree flowers also in September – October, the flowers are white with chicken fat, 2 to 2.5 cm in diameter. This species is named after this species distribution site Bidoupensis, as an affirmation of the authors of its origin. In Vietnam, the genus Tra my has been studied for a long time by typical authors such as: Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Ninh, Hanoi National University; Dr. Luong Van Dung, University of Da Lat; Dr. Luu Hong Truong, Institute of Ecology in the South … increase the total number of species of this genus to more than 80 species, by 2021. With Begonia, there are more than 90 species recorded in Vietnam, many species have narrow distribution and endemic. Two species of the begonias recently announced at Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, Hon Giao (Begonia hongiaoensis CWLin, TCHsu & Luu, sp.nov.) Are named after a mountain mass of biodiversity. Very high in Bidoup National Park – Nui Ba and Thu Hai Duong Dong Road (Begonia lamdongiana CWLin, TCHsu & Luu, sp. nov.). This species is also named after its origin in Lam Dong province, where the species was first discovered and sampled. “The above two species of begonia are the result of the cooperative project” Plant Survey in Langbiang Plateau, Vietnam “between the Botanical Conservation Center Dr. Cecilia Koo (Taiwan), Southern Institute of Ecology. and Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park ”, information Dr. Le Van Huong. Hon Giao – Begonia hongiaoensis (Source: Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park). Hon Giao begonia is a herbaceous plant, 20-30 cm high, leaves are not lobed, not symmetrical, oblong egg-shaped to wide egg, long petiole. Plants flower in January to March every year, white to pale pink petals, yellow stamens merge at the base of the flower. Lam Dong begonia is also a herbaceous plant, 10 cm tall, with many feathers. Fruit hard, light green to cream pink, triangular, 5 to 10 mm long, 4 to 8 mm wide. Leaves and petioles are small, light green to dark pink, 8.5 – 25 cm long, 2.2 – 3.5 mm thick, the leaf blade is asymmetrical, ovoid to lanceolate, 10 – 13 long, 5 cm, 5.5 – 7.5 cm wide, heart-shaped leaf base is clearer than Hon Giao, the underside of leaves is silver with many feathers. Flowers are simple, stalks 12 – 23 mm long, white to pink, blooming in September to November every year. Begonia lamdongiana (Source: Phytotaxa Magazine). The director of Bidoup National Park – Nui Ba, Dr. Le Van Huong said that to be announced a new plant species for science must undergo a rigorous and independent evaluation process by international scientists specializing in In-depth subjects on species, subspecies are close to newly discovered species. From the initial research ideas, determine the survey area, collect, dissect, find the differences, compare with hundreds of domestic and foreign samples and documents, synthesize the results and send to the journals. industry journalism, answering the questions of the independent reviewer. Expanding collaborative research and strengthening field surveys to fully assess the population level and conservation status of plants, focusing on rare species, narrow natural distribution area is a Jobs are essential in biodiversity conservation in Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park. This information is the foundation for developing a conservation strategy, planning and plan suitable for each species or species group on the basis of existing resources. The announcement of four new species for science, originating from Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, once again affirms the very special biodiversity values in this area.

Pu Mat National Park (Nghe An) is located in the ecological area of North Truong Son. This is a biodiversity conservation area representing the largest typical tropical and sub-tropical forest ecosystems in the North Truong Son area and is a place where the distribution of many species of flora and fauna has been determined. rare objects.
“Green lung” in the western part of Nghe

Pu Mat National Park (Nghe An) currently has a natural forest area of 194,000ha, of which the core area has an area of 94,000ha and the buffer zone of 100,000ha. Pu Mat Peak is 1,841m high, covered with white clouds all year round. According to data from researchers, Pu Mat is one of the major biological reserves in Vietnam with more than 2,400 species of plants, 37 of which are in the Vietnam Red Book and 20 species in the World Red Book. . Thousand years old oil plant – Vietnamese heritage tree in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park It is a special-use forest representing the typical tropical and sub-tropical forest ecosystem on earthy mountains; Forest coverage accounts for over 98%, of which primary forest not yet affected is nearly 40%. In which, there are many endangered and rare species of national and international conservation value. In particular, in the 20th century, scientists recorded 4 new species of large mammals for science in Vietnam, all four species were present in this National Park. Specifically, Sao La (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis scientific name), Large Maw (Muntiacus vuquangensis), Truong Son Mangrove (Muntiacus truongsonensis), Striped Rabbit (Nesolagus timminsi). Therefore, Pu Mat National Park plays a very important role in the biodiversity conservation strategy of Vietnam, as well as the world. However, the current forest resources of the National Park have been and are in danger of being degraded by illegal exploitation of forest resources. In particular, the forest fauna is being reduced by hunting and trapping activities of local people. This is considered the most serious threat to the biodiversity resources of Pu Mat National Park. Therefore, for many years, the strengthening of the protection and conservation has always been focused on and tightened by the staff of this national park as well as the authorities at all levels and organizations. The forest is strictly protected According to the Pu Cool National Forest Management Board, which protects wildlife in two special protection areas, two forest protection groups of Pu Mat National Park were established with 12 members. Co Penalty group has 6 members on duty to patrol and protect Khe Bong special protected area. Khe Choang group has 6 members who patrol and protect Khe Choang special protected area. Each member of forest protection groups organizes patrols for 15 days / month, operating from the beginning of 2018 to the present. Rescue pangolins at the Pu Mat National Park Rescue Center After nearly 3 years of operation, the impact of people on the 2 special protected areas has decreased significantly, by 2020 only one impact is left by the people. Maybe they go to get medicinal plants or go hunting animals. This shows that, 2 special protected areas have been well protected, ensuring a high safety habitat for the animals here. In addition, SVW also provides funding for the recruitment garden, contracts a specialized forest protection force and establishes an Anti Poaching team (anti-poaching team) to coordinate with Pu Mat forest rangers to patrol and protect the forest. , removing animal traps, handling violations of forest law. Each anti-poaching team member will coordinate with the National Park Forest Protection patrol and protect the forest at least 15 days / month. After a short time, 85 people participated in forest patrol for 593 days and nearly 6,000km on foot to patrol, handle, expel more than 200 people out of the forest or handle violations of the forest law; destroyed 539 tents; 4,655 animal traps removed; rescue treatment or re-release 18 living animals, the number of dead animals is 93, the number of dead animals is not equal to 23kg; confiscated and handled 11 fish jacks. With a fierce protection work, up to now, logging for commercial purposes has been prevented. Trap setting for wild animals has been reduced compared to the past. In particular, the two special protected areas with the concentrated distribution of animals have been strictly protected, becoming non-hunting zones, ensuring a high safe living environment for animals. In particular, the application of Smart software to patrol the forest for all forest rangers and forest protection forces of the park. The results of patrolling according to the plan, reporting clear forest patrol results, showing comparative information … to serve as the basis for building patrol plans and assessing the effectiveness of forest protection in areas of Pu Mat National Park. In particular, support for effective inspection and supervision of forest patrol and protection. Coordinate forest patrol in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park Mr. Tran Xuan Cuong – Director of Pu Mat National Park – said: “In the past 3 years, in the area of Pu Mat National Park, there has been no situation of logging for commercial purposes; the situation of fishing, which destroys aquatic resources, is basically controlled; Put an end to all hotspots of forest products exploitation and wildlife hunting. The garden management board also does a good job of collaborating in conservation across borders with Laos in biodiversity conservation ”. Also according to Mr. Cuong, recently, Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee has asked the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to consider and nominate Pu Mat National Park to be ASEAN Heritage Park (AHP). Through consideration, Pu Mat National Park has the potential and conditions to become AHP. On October 20, 2020, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment sent a document to the People’s Committee of Nghe An province to nominate the title of ASEAN Heritage Park for Pu Mat National Park. Accordingly, the Ministry agrees on the policy of building a profile and nominating AHP title for Pu Mat National Park, Nghe An province. In the coming time, the park management board will continue to focus on researching and re-planning functional sub-zones in accordance with reality to protect and develop forest ecosystems, conserve wildlife species, and develop to develop livelihoods for ethnic minorities living in the core and buffer zones. Well implementing regulations on coordination in forest management and protection; enhancing cooperation in biological conservation … In addition, the garden management board will also have a plan to expand the wildlife rescue center, implementing a program of reproduction and conservation of rare and precious animals. Priority for protection in the national conservation program. Located on the eastern slope of Truong Son range, Pu Mat National Park stretches over 3 mountainous districts of Con Cuong, Anh Son and Tuong Duong of Nghe An province. Pu Mat in the Thai language means steep slopes. Pu Mat National Park was established in 1995 and recognized by the United Nations Educational Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2007. According to a survey by the Forest Inventory and Planning Institute in 1992, Pu Mat National Park has 1,297 species of higher plants, 64 species of mammals, 137 species of birds, 25 species of reptiles, 15 species of amphibians.

If you were asked to imitate a gorilla, what would you do? Typical movements are quick pats on the chest with two hands one after another, making a thumping sound, so why did the gorilla act like that?

They recorded the chest beating sounds of six of the gorillas, measured the rhythm and duration of each gorilla’s chest beat, and the frequency of the chest beating sounds. At the same time, they used the photographs to measure the shoulder widths of these gorillas to determine the sizes of different gorillas.

Researchers also found that males pound their breasts more often during oestrus in female gorillas, so the sound of the chest beats can be an important physical manifestation during flirting, a on the one hand, attracting children, and on the other hand, frightening the opponents.

Because of the above reasons, the World Animal Protection Organization and the host country government have increased patrols, using armed soldiers to remove traps, in addition to the work of determining the number of Gorillas mountain remaining. Expand the area of the national park, require tour groups to stand away from monkeys, better manage this type of ecotourism. Another important part is educating the local community, spreading propaganda through materials and books and teaching students about biodiversity and protecting this endangered animal.

Ultimately, the scientists concluded that mountain gorillas live in dense rainforests, and sometimes they cannot see each other even when very close, but throbbing conveys personal information. it’s important for them to communicate.
