Floating Seahorse, Dubai: This villa is designed in the theme of a houseboat with 3 floors. The upper 2 floors are completely floating on the water and 1 floor is completely submerged below the sea surface. Brought in by Kleindienst Group and design specialists, the villa is part of the Heart of Euro resort on the Dubai coast. For the outer hull, the architects used three main materials: tempered glass, steel and acrylic sheet. However, attaching the hull and acrylic panels is a challenge that requires a flexible and durable mounting material. There are only 3 companies in the world that provide this material for the technological requirements of the project. The villa consists of 2 bedrooms under the sea, an outside terrace for sunbathing and a roof made from Jacuzzi glass. About 50 such floating houses will welcome visitors by the end of this year and 131 villas are planned Expected to be completed in 2017. Citadel, Westland: This is an ambitious project by Dutch designers and the Citadel is Europe’s first floating building. The building consists of 180 compartments built on a concrete foundation that can float on water. Additionally, with its highly efficient design, the building consumes 25 percent less energy than a typical building of the same size. Randall T. Fennell, Portland: Crafted from red cedar, Randall T. Fennell sits gracefully by the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. The roof is carved to create curves like water waves, making the house more eye-catching and attractive. Beams and beams are added to the design, along with a delicately curved wooden roof. The private deck leads to an outdoor patio with a great location to watch the sunset. The space inside the house is 200 square meters with a design like a sail and white walls. A large floor-to-ceiling window allows the occupants to enjoy the views over the river.
