At the 2018 Ben Tre province delicious fruit contest held in Cho Lach district, many visitors were delighted and surprised to witness firsthand the product of a strange bunch of 23 consecutive jackfruits, each weighing from 2 up to 2.2 kg has a very special aroma. This special bunch of jackfruit won 2nd prize at the contest. Recently, we went to the owner of the above jackfruit tree, Mr. Nguyen Van Xoi (Ba Xoi), living in Phung Duc hamlet, Phu Phung commune, Cho Lach district to learn more about this strange type of jackfruit.

Mr. Xoi said: “This is a native jackfruit variety named To Tan, this jackfruit tree was given by a friend 25 years ago. Jackfruit has fruit all year round, delicious taste very strange, large, fleshy, flat seeds, very beautiful turmeric yellow color. Since planting until now, I have not applied any organic or inorganic fertilizers at all. Each year the tree gives 200 to 300 fruits”. This type of jackfruit from flowering to tree ripening is exactly 100 days, regardless of whether the weather is sunny or rainy. Each fruit when ripe has a weight of 2 to 2.2 kg and lies close to each other, giving off a very long aroma. Finding it strange, he tried branching with many methods to replicate but with no success. So now Mr. Xoi has only 1 strange jackfruit tree in the garden of 10,000 m2. Every year when the jackfruit is ripe, he only gives it to his neighbors to enjoy but does not sell, so the selling price has not been determined yet. (According to Popular Science Newspaper)

The Russian corona vaccine is now also being produced in South America. Argentina has started the production of Sputnik V. The whole continent should benefit from this.

By Ivo Marusczyk, ARD studio Buenos Aires The Russian vaccine Sputnik V is now also manufactured in Argentina. According to the Russian investment fund, which markets the vaccine worldwide, the first batch was produced in a laboratory in Buenos Aires.

Production for Argentina and Latin America

These cans are now to be checked for quality in Moscow. If all goes well, production on a larger scale could start in June. In Argentina, the vaccine for vaccinations in their own country and in other countries in Latin America will then be produced. The raw materials still come from Russia Vaccine is still scarce in much of the continent. Only Chile was able to vaccinate 40 percent of its population with at least one dose. The AstraZeneca vaccine was also manufactured under license in Argentina. But so far it cannot be used – the bottling should take place in Mexico, but is not progressing.

Production of Sputnik V Russia has its Sputnik V corona vaccine produced in several countries, including India. According to the Russian state fund RDIF, which is responsible for marketing the vaccine, agreements were concluded with 20 producers in ten countries by the beginning of April. These include South Korea and China. According to RDIF, there are also agreements with partners in Germany, France, Spain and Italy. However, some of the national governments declared that they were not aware of the relevant agreements.

Sharply increasing number of cases

In Argentina, the number of new corona cases has recently risen sharply. Since Sunday, the Robert Koch Institute has classified the country as an area with a high incidence. For a few days, there has been a curfew from 8 p.m. in the Buenos Aires area, restaurants are actually only allowed to serve outdoors. The central government and the city government of the capital are fighting a violent dispute over the closure of the schools.
