On the evening of June 15, the “Power of Belief”-the Sichuan-Chongqing “Reading Star” recitation event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China kicked off at the Sichuan Institute of Media and Communication. After various selections, the 10 reciting combination contestants from Sichuan and Chongqing who entered the finals recited the red classics with the theme of “The Power of Faith”. More than 100 public library curators and contestants from Sichuan and Chongqing gathered together to recite a century of party history by voice.

Touching tears to read the story of the party history affectionately

On that evening, the event featured four chapters: “Rong years”, “Years are like songs”, “Yes are rich years”, and “Yes are as solid as rocks”, leading the audience to reminisce about the prosperous years in the centuries-old party history.

What kind of relationship is there between Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, their revolutionary partners for decades?

Professor Nie Yueyan, the author of “Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai”, used the relationship between “Marx and Engels” as a metaphor for the revolutionary friendship between Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.Although most people know the heroic qualities and the firm conviction of the Mao Tue people in the cross-sea, Professor Nie Yueyan pays more attention to the details of Mao Tue people’s revolutionary work and life, making decisions at major historical nodes, and the revolutionary friendship between them. Make a very visual evaluation and analysis.

There are countless details of Mao’s ten-year collaboration on Tuesday. The author’s approach to this book is to focus on the big picture, choosing important historical nodes and major historical events, which are more impressive places; proceed in detail and observe carefully. Analyze the division of labor and cooperation between the two of them and their temperament and wisdom.

By dedicating a special area in your home to reading in the summer, you’ll help your child find joy in books. Whether it’s a cozy corner in the living room or a special space in a child’s bedroom, creating a summer reading environment will inspire children to read and make reading immersion fun. more taste. This helps children experience reading as a fun summer activity – like going swimming or playing outside – instead of something they think they have to do as homework. In the process of reading, children can write down things they find interesting. Here are 5 tips parents should refer to when planning to create a summer reading space for their children. 1. Capture the spirit of summer This time of year is boundless fun, so reading should spark that relaxed and joyful spirit. Parents should create a reading space that suits the child’s carefree mood. It could be a hammock in the yard, a sofa in the corner or a swivel chair by the window. 2. Create a comfortable atmosphere When it comes to reading, comfort is key. Pay special attention to good lighting when creating a reading environment and make the space as cozy as possible. Wall art and family photos are also a highlight for the reading space to attract young readers, raising the spirit of summer reading. 3. Eliminate distractions Distraction is a dilemma during reading for both young and old. So try to make your child’s reading corner away from the TV and other entertainment devices. Avoid crowded, noisy areas. Children will find it much easier to focus on a book when they have a quiet space. 4. Reasonable arrangement of books Make sure your child’s favorite books are within easy reach. However, don’t be afraid to mix up reading materials. A wide variety of books and materials is available to meet children’s reading needs and interests. 5. Refresh books periodically During the summer, parents should refresh their reading space with new options that match their child’s interests. This way, children will continue to interact, eager to read and learn something new about topics they love. Parents can even make reading more special by designating a specific day of the week to introduce new reading material or host a family pizza party to celebrate a new book. release.

In the current context, many publishers have identified digital transformation as an important step towards promoting reading culture.
According to data from the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam has only 30% of people read books regularly, 26% do not read books and 44% only occasionally read books. However, we have up to 70% of people using the Internet, in the top of the world. Facing this shortcoming, in the framework of the National Online Book Association in 2021, there was a seminar on “Reading culture in digital transformation trend” to discuss solutions to promote reading culture before the digital transformation trend. 4.0.

Digital library Until now, when referring to the library, people often think of the rooms filled with books and paper documents. But the digital transformation trend is gradually changing the way traditional libraries operate, opening a new era in which paper books no longer have a unique position. That method is electronic library, also known as digital library. Digital library is one of the solutions to promote reading culture In the past, documents and paper books in the library often did not have a long lifespan due to complicated preservation process and many difficulties. Each book has been used many times, as well as the negative impacts from the environment such as mold, insects, … On the other hand, some school units still have difficulty, so traditional libraries are only capable There are enough books for a certain number of students. The emergence of the digital library form is gradually solving the problems of traditional libraries. Specifically, the seminar on reading culture in the digital transformation period taking place on April 19 in Ho Chi Minh City mentioned the advantages of e-libraries in stimulating the reading habits of subjects. students and students of all levels. “Thanks to the electronic library, reading can now take place anywhere,” said Mr. Ibadulla Yoldas – vice principal of Horizon International School. It is not necessary to go to school to read books, students can read books at home ”. According to Mr. Yoldas: “Digital library is the solution, an idea for schools to apply in teaching and learning”. Audiobooks The digital transformation process in Vietnam is forming a new habit for modern readers – the habit of “listening to books”. This is said to be the result of real needs of modern young people who do not have much time but still want to cultivate their knowledge. In fact, many hours a day are wasted. It could be traffic jam, waiting for the plane, or even while doing housework … Instead of accepting lost time and feeling bored, many people have used audiobooks as a “countermeasure” solution. dealing with busy life. The seminar “Reading culture in digital transformation” took place at the opening ceremony of Vietnam Book Day 2021 mentioned the trend of “listening to books”. Currently, many Vietnamese audiobooks are constantly improving product quality to bring the best experience to readers. One of them is the application of artificial intelligence to create a reading voice suitable for each type of book. Also during the seminar on Reading Culture, Mr. Le Hoang Thach, Co-Founder of Voiz FM, shared: “In a recent test of the company with 800 customers. Up to 70% of them could not distinguish the artificial voice from books and real human voices ”. According to ICT Vietnam, our country is similar to the international audiobook market in general and the US market in particular in terms of the structure of listeners. Specifically, they are young, employed and educated clients. These subjects tend to spend a large amount of time using the Internet, using mobile devices to receive information. This can be considered as a prerequisite for the application of digital technology, developing audiobooks and forming Vietnamese books’ listening habits. Create reading habits for children With the attraction of programs on Youtube or games on technology applications, children are not currently able to form a habit of reading. This forces families and schools to have strategies for children to adapt to the reading culture. Instead of the time for children to watch entertainment programs, parents should join their children to access online reading applications, read interactive books with their children … At the same time, it is necessary to give children a reading space. New books, stimulate children to find books and help children feel comfortable reading. Online books with interactive programs are a solution to help form reading habits for children Talking about the issue of forming reading habits for children, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen – Director of the Publishing Department emphasized: The habit of reading books for children must originate from families and schools. It is necessary for the children to have space to read books, time to read books, and then form the reading habits so that they love books. And Mr. Nguyen Nguyen also affirmed: “Publishing capacity in Vietnam is not weak, but the reading culture is not high. Digital transformation will help narrow that gap and stimulate reading culture ”./.

In today’s Internet age, there is a widespread concern that the Internet has caused a crisis of reading. The usual expression is that reading presents the characteristics of fragmentation and low quality, and it is no longer even real reading. In this worry, there are two judgments. First, printed books are a suitable medium for serious reading, and the Internet is not. Second, cultural elites will still insist on reading printed books, while a large number of people who are addicted to the Internet are just consumers.

By combing through the history of reading and reading viewpoints, the author of this book Fulidi pointed out to us: In fact, similar worries and controversies have existed since ancient times, and have never subsided, only changing their forms with the changes of the times. His combing provides us with a broad historical perspective, citing representative oppositional remarks around reading problems in different eras, and helps us to think about the problems we are facing today.

The subtitle of the book is “From Socrates to Twitter”, implying that from ancient Greece to the Internet age, reading has always been a controversial issue. From the perspective of Western history, there are several key nodes. First, in ancient Greece, due to the preciousness of written materials, only a few people had the opportunity to read written texts. However, Socrates was already worried that the indirectness of written texts would lead to misunderstandings and advocated that only direct oral dialogue could ensure correct understanding. The second is that after Gutenberg introduced printing technology to Europe in the 15th century, the spread of books increased the reading population, and the debate on the pros and cons of reading also increased, but all parties acknowledged that reading has a major impact on the mind. The third is the rise of novels in the 19th century. Focusing on Goethe’s “The Troubles of Young Werther”, the influence of fictional works on people’s real lives caused moral panic, while the readers who indulged in novels were criticized by morals. Fourth, since the 1960s, with the rise of digital technology, the pros and cons of the Internet have become the focus of attention. Those who abide by the tradition take a critical stand, while those who oppose the tradition cheer the arrival of another reading revolution, claiming that readers have gotten rid of the oppression of books and have truly become The master of reading.

So, what is the author’s position? When narrating various or even opposite opinions, his attitude is cautious, and he often does not clearly indicate whether it is acceptable or not. As far as our problem today is concerned, the dispute occurred in two aspects. The first is about the media, that is, the relationship between online text and printed books. He admitted that reading culture faces severe challenges, but the reason is not in the technical field. He criticized the Internet and Acura Internet as one-sided. The second is about the subject of reading, the relationship between elite reading and public reading. He opposes going to extremes and obviously does not approve of elitism. I agree with these two points. The pros and cons of reading do not depend on the medium and identity, but on the purpose, content and method of reading. The author’s conclusion is that reading is a kind of cultural cultivation with its own value, and we should revive this spirit. This revival should start with the cultivation of dolls.
 Recommended reason:

“The Selfish Gene” is an enlightenment book for countless people to understand evolutionary thought. Its author has published a new book “The Value of Science”, which shows us his more comprehensive and profound scientific thought. Zhejiang University professor Wang Liming said: Dawkins’ thinking goes beyond biology itself, points to human reason, explores nature, and even imagines the various life forms and wisdom forms that may exist in the universe.

“The latter half of human civilization is inseparable from science,” said Zheng Yongchun, a planetary science expert. “Science is not an island. Its mission is to understand the world, tell us what the world is like, why it is so, and thus influence humanity. Three views.” Therefore, understanding the nature of science is extremely important, whether it is now or in the future, because it allows us to know what is driving the progress of human civilization, and where may it lead us?

Recommended reason:

If I want to bring a book to the future, I will definitely bring a book about travel. Because even if the future traffic is extremely developed, the two places can be reached instantly, but we still need to feel and measure the journey with our eyes and body. And if you want to read a book about travel, Paul Solu’s “The Way of Travel” must not be missed.

The book contains many inspiring stories of great explorers and travellers, as well as travel experiences and experiences written by literary masters. Samuel Johnson, Stevenson, Hemingway, Henry James, DH Lawrence, Gide, Nabokov… On the way to a foreign country, the writers constantly touched on the vast and faint scenery and the jagged scenery. In life, they extract unfamiliar experiences from a foreign perspective, and thus explore the ways of human existence and thinking. Between here and elsewhere, travelers bring back stories from far away and reap rich lives.

“The Way of Travel” is a roaming guide for all literary readers. It is also a collection of aphorisms, pocket books and memoirs to carry with you. The moment we opened the page, we involuntarily embarked on the only way; the moment we set off, we inevitably began to write our own lives.

The author uses straightforward words and precious black-and-white images to record what he saw, heard and felt during a guest semester at Oxford University. In the book, the author talks about current affairs, life, allusions, and childhood, expressing his knowledge of the West. Thinking about the field and caring for humanistic value. Although “Oxford Notebooks” is introduced as “the whole story is structured in a diary style”, we can feel the weight of history from the book. In the book, Zhang Lifen only records his experience during a guest semester in Oxford, but from his continuous writing, we can see his experience in the past few decades and the history of exchanges between China and Britain over the past 30 years.

I want to take this book to the future because we can get a deeper understanding of an extremely real Britain in the book. At the same time, we can also find in the book the “principles” that should be followed whether it is in the past, present or future: study, Ask and think.

What is the boundary between man and machine? Can we say that machines have replaced traditional genetic evolution and are a new form of human evolution, called a more efficient way to change human “traits”? How to understand the current relationship between Made in China and the world? Why is it said that in a technological society, everyone is equal, but technical experts are more “equal” than others. This is something that must happen when entering a technological society?

From the perspective of technology-driven, the author of this book selects 14 key historical moments from the two thousand years of human history to gain insight into the irreversible destiny of mankind. I want to take this book to the future because I want to use it to reflect on the profound impact that ever-upgrading technology has brought to us humans and to human civilization.

Recommended reason:

Fashion, in an era when human material civilization is extremely rich and steadily rising, it will only penetrate deeper and deeper into people’s lives. The future of fashion for everyone may not be far away. Therefore, understanding the nature of fashion seems to be a key to prying into the future world.

And when it comes to fashion, you can’t get around the world’s greatest fashion capital-Paris. Through its haute couture, demi-couture, and prt-porter classification system, the Parisian fashion industry has created a highly structured and strictly controlled system that is difficult for non-Western designers to penetrate. However, a group of influential Japanese designers broke into this system and influenced the entire Paris fashion industry.

How did they do that? The author Yuhito Kawamura discusses this issue, and at the same time raises more questions: Does this system promote or inhibit new creativity? Does the current fashion industry focus more on the commercial shaping of product images, rather than the clothing itself? Without Saint Laurent, Miyake, Kenzo, where will the French fashion industry go? This insightful book delves into the fashion wave that Japan set off in Paris for the first time, and raises a series of provocative questions about the future of the industry.

The competition in the mobile phone market is very fierce. Major mobile phone brands are also keeping up with the trend of the times and launching flagship mobile phones supported by a variety of new technologies. The various mobile phone brands and models on the market once made consumers “difficult to choose”. In the middle, it can be described as “squandering flowers gradually becoming charming.” For example, in the high-end flagship mobile phone market, whether Samsung’s 2021 flagship mobile phone Galaxy S21 is worth starting, many users are very entangled.

So, is this phone worth it?

Reason 1: Full core performance

As we all know, the core performance of current flagship mobile phones are very powerful, almost in excess, but there are few models with full core performance like the Samsung Galaxy S21. On the core processor, Samsung Galaxy S21 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, which is currently the well-deserved “hard-core” flagship chip, 5nm process, excellent performance in games, AI performance is increased by 70%, and then cooperated On ultra-high-speed 5G, you can quickly download a season’s favorite episodes, and fast Wi-Fi 6 allows users to surf the Internet at high speed.

In addition, Samsung Galaxy S21 also supports functions such as IP68 waterproof and dustproof, super accelerated charging, and accelerated wireless charging 2.0, which can comprehensively enhance the user’s experience with the phone.

Reason 2: 120Hz adaptive high-swipe screen

Consumers are very picky about mobile phone screens. There are not a few cases of car overturning because of mobile phone screens. For Samsung, the screen is an undisputed absolute advantage. The screens of many flagship phones of friends are provided by Samsung. . Back on the Samsung Galaxy S21, this phone uses the second-generation dynamic SuperAMOLED screen, supports DCI-P3 color gamut, and supports HDR 10+ display, which is extremely good in color performance. More importantly, the Samsung Galaxy S21 screen not only supports a 120Hz refresh rate, but can also realize intelligent adjustment of the adaptive refresh rate according to the user’s actual use of the machine, achieving a perfect balance between smooth display and battery life.

It is no exaggeration to say that the experience of Samsung Galaxy S21 on the screen is the best performance that can be achieved in the same price model, which can meet the needs of users for mobile phone screens.

Reason 3: The flagship of Almighty Imaging

Imaging has always been the main selling point of the Samsung S series, and it is no exception on the Samsung Galaxy S21. The Samsung Galaxy S21 is equipped with a 10-megapixel front camera that supports dual-core focusing; the rear three cameras are a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel full-pixel dual-core focusing wide-angle lens, and a 64-megapixel phase-focusing telephoto lens, which supports 3x hybrid optical zoom. , 30 times super visual spatial zoom, excellent and comprehensive image performance.

In terms of photography functions, Samsung Galaxy S21 is even more excellent. It not only supports AI one-click multi-shooting, 8K shooting, portrait mode, night scene mode, etc., but also supports a new director’s perspective function. In this mode, users can not only master many A lens, just like a director, can view different “cameras” at any time during the shooting process, and can switch between different lenses in real time according to needs to create high-quality video content, comparable to professional cameras.

Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy S21 can create high-quality works whether it is shooting videos or taking photos, meeting the shooting needs of users in all scenes, and is a true all-round imaging flagship.

Reason 4: Appearance design with good looks and feel

In terms of appearance design, this time Samsung Galaxy S21 also brought a lot of breakthroughs, especially the new ID design on the back of the fuselage is particularly stunning. The lens module matrix and frame are designed to connect to make the whole machine feel more integrated. , Which greatly improves the appearance recognition of the Samsung Galaxy S21, with the symmetrical and coordinated design, it brings an excellent feel.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is also very young and fashionable in terms of body color. It has three trendy colors of black, white and purple, and adopts a gradient design, which greatly improves the appearance of the phone and can meet the requirements for the appearance of the phone. High user demand.

Reason 5: The most cost-effective S-series flagship phone

In terms of price, many people’s first impression is that mobile phones with good performance are definitely not cost-effective. Samsung Galaxy S21 has given a different pricing strategy. The starting price of the Samsung Galaxy S21 is only 4999 yuan. Compared with the 6999 yuan starting price of the previous generation Samsung Galaxy S20 series, it is a full 2,000 yuan cheaper, and it is far lower than the pricing of some domestic flagship phones. This is not the case in the past. Dare to imagine.

Obviously, Samsung Galaxy S21 is extremely price-comparative, and it can even be said to be the most cost-effective model in the history of Samsung S series mobile phones. What is even more surprising is that the Samsung Galaxy S21 is currently officially down by 400 yuan for a limited time, providing 12 interest-free installments and other purchase benefits, and the cost-effectiveness has been further improved.

Samsung Galaxy S21 not only performs well in terms of product strength, but is also very sincere in terms of price. It is very worthwhile to start. Users who want to start do it quickly!

Following these achievements, the 2nd National Online Book Association – 2021 is welcomed by a large number of readers. With the message ‘Books for everyone’, the book fair takes place on the e-commerce trading floor Book365.vn, creating a space to connect publishers and publishers, providing books to readers, contributing to the development of a culture of reading in the community.
From the advantages of the 1st National Online Book Association – 2020, the technological strengths continue to be promoted in this year’s online book fair, attracting a large number of participating units. Accordingly, more than 70 domestic publishers and publishers have participated, providing more than 20,000 printed titles and e-books (an increase of nearly 15,000 titles compared to the previous year), with more than 30,000 books to serve you. reading … This is really a boost to promote readers’ habit of choosing books anytime, anywhere; creating conditions for publishers and publishers to interact with readers, opening up markets in line with the development trend of the digital economy era.

However, that is just the surface, but in depth, the online book fair also has many meanings that are not easy to count. 51% of readers buy books from localities outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; many books to readers in remote, mountainous, island areas and a large number of books are ordered in the fields of politics, science, technology … from the national online book fair last year. showed that this activity satisfies the needs of readers, filling the gaps of existing books in many localities; contribute to building knowledge sources and multiplying positive values for society. In that sense, publishers and publishers need to take the initiative and further improve their professionalism in organizing online book associations in particular and selling books online in general. At the same time, the interests of readers must be put first; have an effective solution to make the online sales channel a reliable place; the book must be of quality, reasonable price and closely follow the tastes of readers. Improving the quality of online book associations as well as online sales channels is a requirement from practice. Therefore, publishers and publishers need to apply advanced and modern technology when opening e-commerce transaction sites as well as simple and suitable payment methods to facilitate all participants. family. From participating in online book associations, publishers and publishers should consider this as the process of accumulating and adding experience to improve the professionalism in digital conversion. Also through this activity to promote the brand, learn the needs and habits of readers, thereby better serving the needs of the market. On the part of readers, besides taking advantage of the advantages and benefits of technology in researching, selecting and buying books from online book associations, it is necessary to be more active in the fight against pirated and non-pirated books. have a copyright … Especially need to have a decisive attitude, not be cheap, but support the fake online book selling sites, contributing to the health of the book market. The excitement of online book associations these days is more and more affirming the right direction in planning a strategy to bring publishing activities and reading culture to digital technology. This inevitable change not only helps publishers and publishers catch up with the development of the times, but also allows books to fulfill their mission of fostering a reading culture, which is “books for everyone”.

Text ︱ Ge Zhaoguang

2 For the first eight months of 020, I was in Tokyo. I have been to Japan many times before, and I always want to hurry up to find research materials, so I am busy reading and writing, and I have no time to visit. This time it took eight months, and I was unavoidable to have the idea of ”going through Japan”. I planned to go south to Satsuma and north to Hakodate. I also planned to go to Nakajima in the Seto Inland Sea and Koyasan, the shrine of Shingon sect. Okinawa. But people are not as good as the heavens. I didn’t expect a pandemic that swept the world to make these plans go in vain. So I had to stay in Tokyo (not in China) and settle down to read some Japanese historical treatises.

Shun Let me just say that reading Japanese historical treatises in Japan was a plan made at the beginning of this time. However, even though I concentrate on reading Japanese history works, what I have in my mind is still the issue of Chinese history. Therefore, those Japanese historical treatises became the background for me to re-understand Chinese history in Asia. The selection here is a number of excerpts and notes from my books on Japanese history reading in Tokyo. I randomly picked a title and called it “Tokyo Reading Notes.”

Japan’s “Weekly Reading Man” launched a special topic entitled “The Perspective of the World” in 2020, and used more than a dozen full pages to focus on the various new changes that have occurred in the world. Compared with the Chinese reading community and the press, Japan It seems more “world-conscious”. When I was reading the newspaper, I paid particular attention to a dialogue about “patriotism”. This is the “True Patriotic” which was just published on the first and second editions of “Weekly Reader” on January 10th. produce? “. The two parties in the conversation are Kimen Takami (Professor of Otago University, New Zealand) and Uno Shigeki (Professor of Tokyo University).

In 2019, the two books of Ji Mian caused quite a stir in Japan. Iwanami Bookstore published his “Patriotic Structure”, and Million Years Book published his “Japanese National ための爱国の Textbook”. As he teaches in the English-speaking world, he has noticed the recent resurrection of “patriotism” as a political concept in Western academic circles. As a Japanese scholar, he is also concerned about whether the concept of “patriotism” can really be understood correctly in Japan? In other words, is “patriotism” a natural sentiment that Japan takes for granted?

Despite the Heisei era in the past thirty years, Japan once had Saeki Keise’s “Japan’s Patriotism” and Jiang Shangzhong’s “Patriotic Practice” two works representing the “patriotism” of the Heisei era. So, how can the correct “patriotism” be rebuilt in the Reiwa era? And what exactly is “patriotism” that Professor Jiang Jimian wants to say? In the conversation, Professor Uno of the University of Tokyo once asked whether the “Patriotic Textbook” written for the Japanese people criticized even moderate nationalism? Uno cited numerous reactions from all over Japan to the new emperor’s accession to the throne in 2019. It is said that at that time, there were a lot of praises to the emperor in Japan. For example, Japan with the royal tradition is a special country; even this is a thread of the tradition of the kingdom of Japan. This kind of Japanese praise is not necessarily an analysis of the status quo based on facts, but merely a repetition of the meaning of “Japan is Japan”. Uno believes that if he is caught in this mood and talks about “patriotism,” will he be hostile to words other than the patriot as “anti-Japanese”. The question asked by Uno is: Is this really “patriotic”?

It is mentioned in the response of the base to this that the national identity of post-war Japan may not be in the sense of race or region, but mainly stems from the economic success of the post-war period. However, the “lost thirty years” of the economy after the 1990s has gradually eliminated this foundation of national identity. He quoted the British academic community, saying that the identity of the United Kingdom is related to the economic status and education level, and there is a polarization between the “どこでも school” and the “どこか school”. But what’s interesting is that although Japan’s rich and poor are very different, they unanimously say some unfounded patriotic remarks. What Japanese are great, Japan is special. He admits that the kind-hearted and gentle nationalism is of course because he feels that he is not one, but in the group, which makes him feel more secure. Such patriotic sentiment must have its truth.

However, Professor Ji, who is familiar with Western political thought, specifically distinguished “Nationalism” and “Patriotism” theoretically based on the British political thought pedigree (Note: Uno is a little skeptical, in Japanese language The meaning of “patriotism” in China is often mixed. Is it really possible to distinguish clearly?). In terms of fundamentals, Patriotism and Nationalism are different in etymology. The former is a necessary condition for building a good political community. He quoted Cicero (Marcus Tullius Cicero, BC 106-43) as saying that there is a citizen’s motherland, and there is a natural motherland, and the citizen’s motherland is more important than the natural motherland. . He explained that the so-called citizen’s motherland is the motherland that forms a community in accordance with the law. It must have republican political value and a political system to realize this value; and the natural motherland is only the birthplace of us, the ancestors live in for generations, where our parents are. Yes, that place with homesickness. Obviously, what he meant was that the citizen’s motherland is a national identity based on political systems and political values, and it corresponds to patriotism; while the natural motherland is based on blood and geography, which corresponds to Nationalism. Because the former is related to the universal political value and system, it is easy to move towards a moderate orientation. But at the same time he also admitted that this kind of patriotism does not necessarily occupy the mainstream in modern society, so he deliberately studied and elaborated on it in “The Structure of Patriotic”.

In the long conversation that followed, they discussed “patriotism” and “loyalty”, discussed the “critical” and “desperate” in patriotism, and discussed how to understand “patriotism” in their hearts. The basics agree that the so-called “patriotism” must ask why it is loyal and what is it loyal to? If it is based on understanding and value, then, just like Christianity’s dedication to God, it also has the meaning of dying for the country. After all, human beings do not exist as individuals but as groups. This conversation is very long and very long, occupying two full pages. I haven’t finished reading the two books by Professor Jiang Ji Mian. However, I vaguely feel that the publication of these two books is precisely related to the “reverse globalization” in the current world, that is, the re-emergence of “national interests”. In recent years, people have increasingly noticed that after the 1990s, the originally imagined globalization, the Internet, market trade, and universal values did not really dilute the existence of the country, and “there is no end to history.” On the contrary, under the protection of a special political consciousness and political system, it has contributed to the rise of the country and made it more difficult to “transcend national borders”. There is no doubt that all countries in the world today are faced with universal values and national values, whether global priority or national priority, whether culture is special or common, and issues related to “identification”. Whether it is the “Brexit” of the United Kingdom, the “refugees” in Europe, the “America First” and the establishment of a high wall in the Trump era of the United States, and the changes in Erdogan, Turkey, the unity of Islam and the political freedom of the world Conflicts will eventually prompt the academic and ideological circles to start to understand the “country” and “identity” again. Fukuyama’s recent works, which I read some time ago, actually show this trend.

Just today, I saw that the topic of intense discussion on the Japanese Internet is the so-called “anti-Japanese forces”, perhaps, it happened to involve this thorny problem. Today the University of Tokyo announced the dismissal of an Associate Professor Osawa Nobuhira. It is said that he was originally the youngest associate professor of East University. The original appointment period was six years, and the reason for the early dismissal was his extreme remarks. He declared that he “will never hire Chinese people”, attacking that the Institute of Oriental Culture we are familiar with is under the domination of certain countries, and also attacked other professors for no reason. I am not very clear about the reasons for this, but seeing the official news released by the University of Tokyo, it is obvious that the University of Tokyo feels that a university must never touch the bottom line of “political correctness.” The dismissal of Daze is also based on social responsibility and is also to stop it. This kind of thing happened again, prompting all faculty members to completely abide by the ethical code.

But what is interesting is that I have seen that Japanese people on the Internet have criticized the University of Tokyo a lot. So, is this extreme regional “nationalism” or what Professor Ji Mian called “patriotism”?

Chinatown is an area where Chinese people live in cities in other countries. Chinatown was born because the Chinese emigrated overseas and became a local minority. For a Chinatown full of Chinese flavor. Along with Yokohama Chinatown and Nagasaki Shindi Chinatown, it is listed as the three major Chinese streets in Japan. There are about 100 shops within a range of 200 meters wide from east to west and 110 meters long from north to south.

More than 100 years ago, after the opening of a port in Kobe, Japan, Chinese came from afar with Chinese ingredients and formed the Nanjing Market, which is the predecessor of today’s Nanjing City. It is also a registered trademark of Nanjing Commercial Street Zhenxing Group. The China Street in Kobe, Japan, is different from Chinatowns all over the world. It is the only place called Nanjing Town. The exquisite products exported from China to Japan during the Ming Dynasty were deeply loved by the Japanese people. At that time, Nanjing was not only a famous city in China, but also a center of Sino-Japanese trade fleet and export commodities. Nanjing ships and goods made in Nanjing account for a large proportion, so the Japanese call Chinese goods and even Southeast Asian goods “Nanjing goods”, and even Chinese people are called “Nanjing people.”

To this day, when the Japanese mentioned “Nanjing beans”, they knew it was peanuts; when they talked about “Nanjing worms”, they were referring to a little girl’s watch. Other famous “Nanjing objects” include Nanjing ingots (small locks), Nanjing drills (puppets), Nanjing rice (white rice), Nanjing chicken (cockfighting) and so on.

On January 15, 2005, the new “Xi’anmen” was built on the west side of Nanjing City and opened to the outside world. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Great Hanshin Earthquake, Cao Yingsheng, president of the Nanjing Commercial Street Promotion Association, invested 42 million yen to build a new gate, which is a symbol of Nanjing’s urban revitalization.

Nagasaki Sindi Chinatown is a Chinatown located in Sindi Town, Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. There are about 40 Chinese restaurants and shops on both sides of the street. It is also the oldest Chinese street in Japan. Nagasaki was the only port for Sino-Japanese trade during the Japanese blockade, so this Chinese street was built as early as the 17th century.

Xindi Chinatown was designed and built by the Chinese themselves, retaining the pure Chinese architectural style. The building facades here are rich in color, with strong colors such as gold, red, and yellow, and beautiful dragon and phoenix patterns can often be seen between the beams and columns.

Walking on this street, we can see many landscapes equivalent to our cultural heritage everywhere. There are many Chinese businessmen living here, so daily life, clothing, food, housing and transportation have a strong Chinese flavor, and a distinctive street scene.

At present, there are still the words “New Land Collection” on the central stone monument of Xindi China Street, which confirms the history of local Chinese residential and business travel warehouses.
