In a residential area with houses built close together, Ms. Thuy takes advantage of the fence to grow all kinds of roses. A year later, every tree gives flowers laden branches.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy (born 1982, hometown of Thai Nguyen), came to Japan to live and work more than 10 years ago. Currently, she and her husband and two children are living and doing freelance business in Nagoya-shi (Aichi Prefecture, Japan).

Her and her husband’s house is located in a densely populated area, the houses are built close together, so the land area is not much. After the second child was strong, taking advantage of her free time, she improved the soil around the fence to plant trees. Initially, Ms. Thuy planted succulents in porcelain pots placed in the house, in the yard and in the aisle. More than a year ago, she started designing fences, improving the land to see roses. Up to now, her rose garden has been more than a year, every tree is green and full of flowers. “The feeling of hand-cutting flowers planted by myself and putting them in a lovely glass is very pleasant. Every day, there is a vase of roses in the house to put in the living room or somewhere I want. sweet”, Ms. Thuy wrote on her personal page. According to Ms. Thuy, the success of growing roses is due to the right climate.
A Thai woman rests after being vaccinated against Covid-19. The above decision was made at a meeting of Bangkok’s Communicable Diseases Committee on May 31. The commission said the reopening was intended to ease the burden on business by allowing it to operate under strict conditions. The Thai government’s efforts to control the outbreak of Covid-19 in residential communities, markets and worker housing are continuing. Five types of businesses are allowed to reopen in Bangkok from June 1 including: museums, learning centers, science parks, historical sites and art galleries (no group tours). ; tattoo parlors and nail salons (must close for 14 days if any Covid-19 cases are detected); beauty/weight loss clinics and services; spas, massage parlors and wellness-related locations (no saunas or facials); and public parks, botanical gardens and flower gardens (no eating or gathering). Other businesses in Bangkok will remain closed until June 14. On May 31, Thailand recorded a record high of 5,485 new cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections so far to 159,792. The whole country recorded 19 more deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of people who did not die from this disease to 1,031. Bangkok continues to lead the list of localities with new cases, with 1,356 cases recorded on May 31. (according to VNA)

Tulip turbines are “planted” in urban areas, on the rooftops of houses in Amsterdam, the Netherlands Traditional wind turbines are often located in the sea, are huge in size, make loud noises, can harm birds, and it is important that very strong winds are needed to generate electricity. The new tulip-shaped design overcomes all of the above shortcomings, it only needs a normal wind to generate enough electricity for a family to use comfortably all day. Israeli-American Dr Daniel Farb, the inventor of the tulip turbine, said the unique aerodynamic design makes the turbines quiet, efficient and capable of generating more than 50% of the electricity in clusters. Shaped like glossy flowers in a variety of colors and sizes (1m, 3m and 6m high), the tulip turbines are designed to double duty as electricity generation and artistic decoration on the rooftops. home, shopping mall, school… In addition, a solar system combined with tulip turbines could reduce overcrowding during the late afternoon peaks in many parts of the world when sunlight goes out and strong winds pick up.

The ruins of the ancient city of Tikal, where the Teotihuacan population was discovered. Autonomous zone in the city To the naked eye – and on archaeologists’ maps – the structure looks like a hill amid the undulating landscape of Tikal, the ancient Maya city-state in the lowlands of northern Guatemala. But when the researchers zoomed in on the image with a laser scanning device called LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging), they saw a man-made pyramid structure. , hidden under the soil and vegetation accumulated for thousands of years. This structure is actually part of an old residential area, different from most structures that have existed in Tikal. It has a distinctive shape, orientation and architectural features commonly found in Teotihuacan, a powerful city-state belonging to another civilization, near present-day Mexico City, 1200km west of Tikal. Upon closer inspection, archaeologists found that the complex appeared to be a copy of the giant Citadel square in Teotihuacan but was only half the size. The new discovery of a massive monument at the heart of Tikal – one of the most widely excavated and studied archaeological sites on Earth, shows that LiDAR is revolutionizing archeology in Central America, where these sites The jungle often renders satellite imagery useless. From here, however, a difficult question also arises: What role does an area of the remote Teotihuacan city-state play in the heart of this Maya capital? After studying images from LiDAR, Edwin Román-Ramírez, Director of the South Tikal Archaeological Project conducted excavations in the summer of 2020. Digging tunnels into the site, his team made the discovery. Building tools, funeral offerings, pottery, and weapons are typical of early fourth-century Teotihuacan. From censers decorated with the rain god Teotihuacan, to darts made of green obsidian in central Mexico, the site is likely a quasi-autonomous neighborhood in central Tikal. Román-Ramírez said: “We know that the Teotihuacans had some presence and influence in Tikal and nearby Maya areas before 378. But it is not clear how well the Mayans were associated with the most powerful kingdom in the region. . Now there is evidence that their relationship is even closer than that.” Relationship between two civilizations The ruins of the Citadel Square of the Teotihuacan civilization. Thomas Garrison – a geographer at the University of Texas – Austin (USA), specializing in the use of digital technology for archaeological research, said that the above findings proved to a certain extent that the America’s old town isn’t too different from today’s cosmopolitan cities. “There is a mixture of cultures and people of different backgrounds and languages coexist, maintaining their identity in one city,” he said. A study funded by the Pacunam LiDAR Initiative, which published groundbreaking findings in 2018, reveals a vast network of ancient cities in the Maya lowlands, home to millions of people. people, more than previously thought. Scientists Edwin Román – Ramírez noted that the above findings do not confirm that the builders of the complex came from Teotihuacan. “But what we found shows that, for more than a century people who are more or less familiar with Teotihuacan culture and traditions have lived there, in their own region,” he said. Based on ceramic designs found in the ruins, the team estimates that construction at the site began at least 100 years before 378, an important date in Mayan history. According to the Maya inscriptions, the king of Teotihuacan sent a general called the Born of Fire to overthrow the king of Tikal, Jaguar Paw, and put his young son in charge of the country. Born of Fire arrived in Tikal on January 16, 378, the same day that Jaguar Paw “entered the water” – a Mayan metaphor for death. After being annexed, Tikal flourished for several centuries, conquering and pacifying neighboring cities, and spreading their culture throughout the plains. Tikal’s hegemony during this period is well documented, but it is not clear why, after decades of friendly coexistence, Teotihuacan turned his back on his former ally. Further excavations at Tikal may provide new insights, but a recent discovery in Teotihuacan suggests that cultural conflict may have sparked the breakup between these two powerful city-states. A team of scientists led by Nawa Sugiyama, an archaeologist at the University of California, Riverside (USA), has discovered a “Maya house” at Teotihuacan. The opulent buildings here are decorated with splendid Mayan murals, suggesting that the inhabitants were either elite diplomats or aristocratic families. But just before Tikal was annexed in 378, the murals were smashed to pieces and buried. A nearby pit was filled with shattered human skeletons, indicating the sudden shift from diplomacy to violent confrontation between the two city-states. “What went wrong in that relationship, when a bunch of elite Maya residents were massacred, their buildings were demolished, all their belongings were thrown away, and then their homeland was conquered. ruled by a child king?” asked Francisco Estrada-Belli, an archaeologist at Tulane University. It is also one of the great mysteries of Central America that scientists are trying to answer.

In Phan Thiet city, there is a remnant mangrove forest in the heart of the city in particular, and Binh Thuan province in general. This area was originally planned as a park, green tree and sports area, but was later adjusted into a residential area, a commercial service area and a park. If this project is implemented, the rare and unique mangrove forest of Binh Thuan province will disappear.

Remaining mangrove forest of Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province Windproof, anti-erosion Mangrove forest population of Phan Thiet city has an area of more than 32 hectares, distributed on the southern bank of the flood drainage canal, on the boundary between three wards Phu Thuy, Thanh Hai and Phu Hai. Mr. Nguyen Van Thai (living in Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city) said: “In the past, on both sides of Cau Ke river, trees such as fish sauce, cork, mangroves have grown luxuriantly. About 15 years ago, when shrimp farming developed, local people voluntarily dig ponds to raise shrimp. However, later shrimp farming failed, people quit and since then, trees and creatures have grown very strongly, creating a beautiful mangrove forest. According to local people, the above mentioned mangrove forest has recovered and grown very quickly; many trees are 3-4m high, there are trees 5-6m, wide and thick canopy. Currently, many types of birds and storks have come to live, creating a unique space in the heart of the famous tourist city of the country. Mr. Pham Cong Thai (living in Thanh Hai ward) said: “Because there are small creeks, shrimp and fish are abundant, recently, storks have focused on the forest to live and feed. Sometimes they fly back in large numbers, sometimes thousands, creating a peaceful scene.” Not only having a rich ecosystem, the mangrove forest of Phan Thiet city also has important functions such as charging and regulating groundwater, regulating ecology and climate, producing biomass, limiting floods, and preventing floods. This area is also home to dozens of species of shrimp, fish, snails and molluscs. In which, storks, shrimps and green clams are considered the typical species of the forest. It is not necessary to change According to the People’s Committee of Phan Thiet City, this area was originally planned as “Parks, green trees, sports”. However, it was later adjusted into a residential area, a commercial and service area (about 12 hectares) and a park (about 18 hectares). In which, an area of 12 hectares will be auctioned to get money to build the park. Many people were shocked when they heard this news. “If the project is implemented, Phan Thiet city will lose a rare regenerated mangrove forest. This is a big loss that money can’t create in the future, “said Mr. Thai. Recently, during a survey and working trip with the Standing Board of Phan Thiet City Party Committee, Mr. Duong Van An, Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, said that it is necessary to re-study the plan to build a residential area combined with a park in Binh Thuan province. mangrove forest above. Auctioning a part of this land for residential purposes will cause Phan Thiet City to lose a rare, largest remaining regenerating mangrove forest. Retaining and conserving the mangrove forest is to retain a precious, non-renewable natural resource. Later, when conditions permit, embellishment will be carried out, investing in a system of roads around and under the forest canopy, embellishing both sides of the river, creating a beautiful ecological area in the heart of Phan Thiet city, right next to the route. main road to Mui Ne National Tourist Area. Many locals also believe that, if kept, this place promises to be a unique destination of Binh Thuan tourism. At the same time, the locality will have an additional natural park, eco-tourism community; contribute to educating pupils, students and people about the awareness of environmental protection, love of nature… Mangrove forest complex is also a place for research, sightseeing and picnic activities. In some localities, mangroves are preserved, developed, promoted their value, become attractions, tourism, scientific research. “Binh Thuan province still has difficulties and needs resources to develop. Exchange of land for infrastructure is one of the must-dos in the current context. However, there are still other lands to put up for auction, for residential, commercial and service purposes, not necessarily taking this precious mangrove forest,” said Binh Thuan Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An. strong.

The tunnel was dug underneath a housing complex in the Yongah Hill refugee center The tunnel with a depth of 3m underground was found on the morning of May 10. The tunnel was built in a few months. This image of the unfinished tunnel shows it as if it was hand-dug and just high enough for a person to crouch in. This is not the first time detention centers have discovered secret tunnels for detainees to escape. Nearly 20 years ago, 23 asylum seekers escaped by tunneling out of Villawood detention center on the outskirts of Sydney. In 2002, about 40 refugees escaped from the Woomera detention center during a protest. According to the Australian border force, Yongah Hill camp is holding about 315 people, of which 175 are foreign nationals whose visas have been canceled by the government and 140 asylum seekers. There are no women or children here. Immigrants to Australia currently have an average detention period of 627 days. Yongah Hill alone is a long-term prison, 73 people have been here for more than 5 years, especially some people have more than 9 years.

During a cleanup in the expensive neighborhood of the Upper West Side, Toscano’s team was paid $ 18,000 to throw away bottles of urine and loads of sex toys.
In the summer of 2020, Raul Toscano’s team was called to a luxury apartment inside a high-rise apartment building on Park Avenue.

It’s filled with old furniture – about 10,000 books, 300 framed photos, some old computers and a filing cabinet. The space was so messy that the owner of the apartment stumbled across a mess and died amidst the garbage. Specialist team cleaning up for expensive New York apartments. Photo: Stefano Giovannini. The task for Toscano (45 years old) and colleagues is to clean this expensive apartment quietly to save face for the deceased owner. Share with New York Post “That man may have a reputation so they don’t want to make a fuss of death,” said the “special” cleaning staff in high-end buildings around the city. “What’s more, often the apartment management doesn’t want residents to panic when they see what’s inside the neighbors’ homes. Too bad you pay tons of money for a nice apartment and smell strange things from the next door, ”he added. 18 tons of household waste Recently, Toscano was hired to help a 90-year-old man handle the pile of books, papers, boxes, clothes and jewelry piled up inside the luxurious 3-bedroom apartment in the residential West Central Park. “Every corner is a mess. It takes 18 tons of trash in this expensive apartment, ”he recalls. The apartment was once filled with rubbish, pizza boxes and drug equipment before Toscano’s team arrived to move it for four days. Toscano says his company, which is a Queens-county branch of the Clutter Free Junk Removal Service and Cleanup Pros, handles such cases “once a week, sometimes two”. The most difficult part for this “special” cleaning team is that the building managers often ask them to “work discreetly” to avoid panicking the neighbors. That is equivalent to hiding the logo on the uniform, as well as keeping the information they throw away. “We have our own trash so people can’t see what’s being thrown away. We just need to try to speed up the schedule and get the trash out of the apartment quickly, ”Toscano said. However, that is almost impossible to do, as was the case 1.5 years ago in a South Central Park residential apartment building. That day, Toscano’s group had to demolish the floor of an apartment left behind by the mess of tenants – including countless stacks of papers several meters high and piles of bugs and bed bugs. They also saw a woman who left her husky dog dead in a cage for eight months, or a man who liked to go to the bathroom in the bath. These people are all residents of the luxury building in the heart of New York. “We have seen everything,” Toscano said. An apartment in Manhattan before and after “passing hands” Toscano and colleagues. During a cleanup in the expensive neighborhood of the Upper West Side, the team was paid $ 18,000 to throw away bottles of urine and loads of sex toys. However, that is not the highest price. Toscano said the most expensive deal he has ever been in charge of is about $ 40,000 for a home in the state of New Jersey. Here, his team had to remove 16 tons of trash and repaint the entire house. More than work For Toscano, the interesting thing about this job is that he gets to “see the beauty of a luxury apartment” once he has dealt with the huge mess. His company also regularly receives calls from relatives to search for belongings. Therefore, in addition to discarding the furniture, they also carefully classify and store some of the belongings obtained from the apartment, in case someone wants to get it back. A New York resident who used to use the Toscano service said: “They are very focused on their work. The group of 6 of them entered the house, divided in charge of each room and cleaned according to the pre-assigned schedule ”. Toscano is often excited to see the beauty of an expensive apartment after the cleaning. Toscano said this job is more than cleaning because he himself likes to help people. In addition, he also often tells the landlord to leave during group work. “When they get back, they’re going to go crazy like ‘Wow, I can’t believe this place is home,'” he said. The hoarding disorder, which affects 2-6% of the American adult population, has no financial limits, according to the report New York Post. “Normally, when storing luxury goods, like buying 500 Prada handbags, people ‘convince themselves’ that it’s not hoarding but collecting,” said Dr. Dena Rabinowitz, director of the Institute of the Mind. Cognitive Behavioral Physics in New York, said.

In a residential area outside the city of Austin, Texas (USA), there is a small house of a man named Tim Shea, 70 years old. He had his own home after years of homelessness. The special thing is that he was the first American to live in a house built entirely with 3D printing technology.
Sharing with the New York Post, Mr. Shea said he lived temporarily in a car. One day, a non-profit startup called Icon met him and said he was a great candidate for a housing project they were looking to work on in the Austin suburbs.

Photo: Icon To build, Icon uses a large 3D printer on the surface of nearly 40m2. The house for Mr. Shea has full amenities, including bedroom, bathroom and living room connected to the kitchen. In September 2020, Mr. Shea officially moved to his 3D printing house, ending years of temporary living. Earlier this year, this house protected him from a historic blizzard in Texas, so good he had to say, “I didn’t even know there was a blizzard until I pulled the curtains up!” Compared with traditional building materials such as brick, wood or steel, the 3D printer uses a special type of “flexible concrete” with high durability. CNBC quoted Jason Ballard, CEO of Icon, said that this method saves 10-30% of construction cost and several months of construction compared to traditional houses with the same area of use. So far, the success of this new technology-built model has helped Icon raise $ 59 million. This company has provided more than 20 homes for homeless people in the US and Mexico.
