Russia has begun to plan the development of weapons in the next 10 years with many types of terrible weapons being introduced as the main force, but will it come true?
Deputy Prime Minister in charge of military affairs of Russia Yuri Borisov said that Russia has started research and preparation work for “Russian weapons development program from 2024 to 2033”. This is the product of the process of reforming the “new look” of Russia’s military policy. This program marks the creation of weapons and equipment of the Russian army, which is about to enter the 3.0 era.

Russia has developed many weapons development programs methodically. Source: people.com.cn. New weapon development direction Russia launched the first version of the “Russian Weapons Development Program” in 2010 and version 2.0 in 2017. It is planned that version 3.0 will be released by the end of this year. According to Russian media, this program mainly provides follow-up information on the development of weapons and equipment of the Russian army, and is considered a “indicator” for the development of weapons and equipment in the country. . The 2010 version of the “Program” indicates that the Russian military will prioritize the development of nuclear and air defense as well as anti-missile forces, as well as the development of communication command systems and situational awareness. advanced. Under the guidance of this concept, the modernization level of the nuclear forces of the Russian army has been significantly improved, in which the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile regiment has been reorganized, centered The air defense and anti-missile group with the core of the S-400 gradually became the main air defense force. In addition, by 2015 the Russian Army had built a modern command and control system. Version 2.0 of the “Program” revised and supplemented the content of the previous version, proposing to “accelerate the upgrade and transformation of nuclear deterrence” and “ensure that weapons development and equipment of the Russian army in the leading position in the world, and modernization of conventional weapons accounts for more than 70%”. Speaking at a Defense Ministry meeting at the end of 2020, Russian Defense Minister Shoigu said that the Russian military-industrial complex has completed more than 97% of the research, development and production tasks in the “Chapter” program”, all the armed services of Russia have basically completed the goal of weapons procurement. The Russian Ministry of Defense is currently conducting research and preparing to launch the official 3.0 “Program” later this year. Russian media revealed that Moscow has focused on cutting-edge technologies and new concept weapons to ensure that it has a dominant position in the high-tech sector. According to reports, Russia is actively preparing a new version of the “Program” and has listed advanced weapons as the focus of development, with the intention of laying a solid foundation for weapons development, respond to increasingly complex security challenges. Weapons of the future In the new version of the “Program”, Russia will continue to promote the development of nuclear and conventional weapons, while focusing on research into artificial intelligence, robotics, hypersonic weapons and weapons. attack based on new physics principles. As of 2020, the modernization rate of the Russian army’s conventional weapons has reached 70.3%, and the modernization of the nuclear forces has reached 86%. According to the plan, the Russian services will continue to promote the modernization of weapons and equipment at a rate of 2% to 3% annually. Currently, in Russia’s hypersonic arsenal, in addition to the Avangard and Kinzhal missiles that have been put into operation, the Poseidon unmanned rolling device and the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile have also entered the test phase. Russia’s “torpedo” Poseidon scared the whole world. Source: people.com.cn. In addition, Russia recently revealed plans to design light vehicles carrying hypersonic munitions, such as glide bombs, and has continuously developed asymmetrical strategic balancing measures. In the next 10 years, heavy drones represented by “Altius” and “Hunter” will become the mainstay of Russia’s aerospace forces. Many new electronic warfare systems will also become the core of Russia. According to Russian military experts, the new “Program” will introduce “plans for the development of weapons and equipment in the complex climate of the Arctic”. Many difficulties await Some analysts believe that the new Russian version of the “Program” is promising, but will face certain difficulties in the implementation process. On the one hand, the modern technology of the Russian army still has shortcomings, which will be difficult to make up for in the long run, on the other hand, the defense budget of the Russian army is decreasing year by year, which is not suitable for the “stability and ongoing financial support” is suggested in the “Program”. In addition, under the technological blockade of the West, Russia is still struggling to research avionics components, liquid crystal displays, stealth materials and large-scale drones. . In fact, many new weapons and equipment, including the T-14 tank and the Su-57 fighter jet, were short on funding, causing the production time to be continuously extended. In addition, due to the influence of the budget and other strategic plans of the Russian military, there have been many adjustments, such as the program to build a new aircraft carrier.

The building can accommodate up to 200 military personnel living in it. The building has full bedrooms with beds, drawers, a gym, and a relaxation room where soldiers can read books or watch TV.

The Kurganets-25 is a new generation of armored fighting vehicles designed to replace the BMP-2 and MT-LB vehicles in motorized units of the Russian army. With outstanding power in firepower, electronic weapons and mobility, this is considered one of the best multi-purpose armored vehicles in the world.
The military parade on May 9 in Russia’s Red Square had the participation of many weapons that have undergone major modernization. Among them is the promising armored fighting vehicle on the Kurganets-25 platform – this year for the first time appeared in public with the BM “Epoch” turret. Its main feature is armed with a 57 mm automatic cannon, which is effective against both light armored vehicles and small UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

From the observations of analyst Andrey Kots, it can be seen that the Russians displayed a new variant of the Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle with the 57 mm BM “Epoch” turret – different from the 30 mm cannon in the reviews. former soldiers. According to analyst Ryabov Kirill, the LShO-57 differs from the well-known 57 mm 2A91 cannon in a number of features including a shorter barrel (barrel length 40 times the size) and no recoil compensation. This design makes the ballistics more stretchable, but at the same time, it also requires the development of new ammunition such as fragmentation explosive ammunition (suitable for the requirements of anti-UAV combat as mentioned above) and armor-piercing ammunition. Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle parade The Kurganets-25 is a new generation of armored fighting vehicles designed to replace the BMP-2 and MT-LB vehicles in motorized units of the Russian army. The Kurganets-25 is heavily armed with a 30mm 2A42 automatic cannon with 500 rounds, or a 57mm caliber 2A91 cannon with 200 rounds, in addition to a 7.62mm PKT coaxial machine gun, anti-tank missiles with Kornet-EM remote control, thermobaric grenade launcher. Infantry fighting vehicle Kurganets-25 In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a meteorological reconnaissance system, 2 photoelectric target reconnaissance systems and missile guidance that significantly improve the combat capability of this armored vehicle. The body of the vehicle is also fitted with 16 grenade launchers and 4 sensors of the Afghanit “hard pressure” system to help the vehicle have excellent defense against infantry and laser-guided weapons. Despite the fact that electronic warfare vehicles have very significant range limitations, the Russian military has accomplished an almost impossible task, increasing the range of targets by 350%. . Such complexes are capable of effectively attacking enemy electronic systems not only on land, at sea but also in space, and clearly, Russia has no intention of stopping at this, especially considering the fact that today the country is a leading country in the development and use of those complexes and systems.

Russia has recently established the first modern combat robot unit Uran-9, this is a very deliberate step.
According to the announcement of the Russian Defense Ministry, the first Russian combat robot unit with 5 Uran-9 fighting robots as the core has started to be established, however, information about this force is still unclear.

Uran-9 combat robot is 5.12m long, 2.53m wide, 2.5m high, with a total combat weight of 12 tons, is the most typical heavy fighting robot among many ground combat robots of the Russian army . Russian Uran-9 combat robot. Source: people.com.cn. The robot is equipped with various sensor modules including laser sensor, photoelectric sensor and thermal image sensor. It is capable of automatic target recognition and tracking. It can detect and track targets to a range of 3,000 meters and maneuver in either remote or automatic mode. The maximum road maneuver speed is 35 km / h and the continuous combat time is 6 hours. The robot is equipped with 1 30mm 2A72 cannon, 4 9M120 Ataka anti-tank guided missile launchers, or 6 RPO Shmel 93mm thermo-missile launchers and 1 PKT / PKTM machine gun. At the same time, the robot can also carry 9K38 surface-to-air missiles, 9K333 mobile air defense missiles and 9M133M anti-tank missiles depending on mission requirements. It can be said that robots can create “fatal” attacks against armored targets, low-range targets and infantry forces. Looking at the development and application of weapons and smart equipment of the Russian Army, it can be seen that Russia has embarked on a path of developing military equipment integrating artificial intelligence different from the West. . Especially from the development and application of the Uran-9 combat robot, three characteristics can be seen in the intelligent military development of the Russian Army. The first is to focus on the real warfare of smart technology. Compared with the West’s search for advanced intelligent technologies, the Russian Army places more emphasis on improving its practical combat capabilities. For example, the Uran-9 combat robot is strong enough to take on an armored infantry team. Heavy armored vehicles can cope with attacks from general infantry weapons and crawler chassis can adapt to complex terrain such as hills and mountains. Especially in the actual combat test in Syria, the Uran-9 combat robot has shown a high level of attack, defense and maneuverability, which can meet the actual combat needs of the ground forces. Russian troops in such missions as fire suppression, fire suppression and infiltration of enemy front lines. In general, the results achieved by the Uran-9 combat robot are due to a design philosophy that meets the practical combat needs. Second, improve the level of intelligence based on the advantages of motorized equipment. The Russian military has always had a strongly mechanized armed force, but its intelligence still has a certain distance from the West. To quickly close this gap, the Russian Army has chosen to push the development of intelligent military equipment in the direction of modularization. The Uranus-9 combat robot’s armor, weapons and chassis are the products of the era of mechanization, while sensors, fire control systems and automated algorithms are products of the age of intelligence. . Through the combination of these two methods, Russian combat robots can quickly adapt to the battlefield in the future. Based on this method of combining traditional equipment with this advanced technology, the Russian military is developing smarter weapons and equipment. Third, to address the shortcomings of conventional forces to develop intelligent weapons and equipment. Under Western containment, it was difficult for the Russian Army to develop conventional weapons and equipment on a large scale and expand its military might. In the face of NATO’s increasingly intense military pressure, Russia needed to compensate for the shortcomings of conventional military might in a manner consistent with its economic requirements. In terms of military might, the newly formed Uran-9 combat robot unit can be said to fulfill this requirement completely. Compared to the involvement of an armored infantry army, the military costs and the risk of the robot unit’s casualties are much lower on the battlefield, which is one of the key reasons why the Russian Army plans to increase. The proportion of unmanned weapons and equipment in the military by 2025 is 30%.

After overcoming the shortcoming, the Uran-9 battlefield robot and some other types will be re-employed for the Russian Army.
Although the means of defense have been continuously improved, they are currently not capable of providing maximum protection for soldiers on the battlefield. Armored vehicles carrying troops do not have enough “survivability”, and even the richest armies in the world cannot “hide” all infantry in tanks.

However, progress in military science has not stopped, in order to reduce the casualties to soldiers on the battlefield, some countries are experimenting with new forms of combat with the creation and use of systems. automatic robot. In terms of strength, they have the ability to replace a mechanized company. Russia is also not lagging behind the general trend. At present, Russia owns a number of robot combinations of different classes: Platform-M and Nerekhta weigh only 1 ton, Companion weighs 7 tons and finally heavy vehicles remotely controlled. 15 tons of Vikhr, built on the basis of the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle. Field tests have shown that the most successful option is the Uran midsize robot program, which aims to shape the appearance of a versatile and inexpensive multi-functional platform that can be easily modified for create final dedicated versions on that basis. Unfortunately, during the mission deployment in Syria, the Uran-9 robot and the Uran-6 revealed many shortcomings, leading to the need for corrections. Until 2019, the only real result of the program was that the Uran-6 remote bomb clearance vehicle was received by the Russian engineer force. The Uran-9 combat robot begins to return to the active part of the Russian Army Then came the modernized Uran-9 infantry escort robot platform, the first version of which was briefly tested in Syria. Today this combat vehicle is equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon, 4 Ataka anti-tank missiles and six Shmel-M thermo-missile launchers. The Uran-9 robot complex is capable of destroying any armored vehicle at a distance of up to 5 km, as well as handling reconnaissance missions, suppressing enemy laser navigation systems and smoke curtain settings. The Russian army has begun to set up an experienced unit equipped with the aforementioned robot complex. According to the current plan, after the completion of the production of the order and the training of the operator, the handover of the Uran-9 to the combat units will begin. After the above process, it is likely that the Uran-9 robot will return to the Syrian battlefield to re-evaluate the shortcomings that caused it to be “disgraced” that has been completely overcome or not.

A modernized version of Pole-21M for military service and an export version of Pole-21E are being marketed internationally.

Pole-21 increasingly asserted its place in the Russian military. (Source: Top War) Shield against potential hazards Pole-21 is resistant to high-precision weaponry and other enemy systems using the satellite navigation system. The mission of this combination is to jam and suppress signals from the navigation satellites. In addition, they can accurately detect the enemy’s coordinates, missiles, bombs, aircraft … and handle other assigned combat missions. The weapons complex consists of R-340RP signal reception poles, including the control equipment and interfering antennas, capable of suppressing radio signals at a minimum range of 25km. The combination is capable of suppressing signals from all current navigation systems. The R-340RP antenna stations are mounted on cell towers that are installed at a suitable height or mounted on car chassis with a basin module. Compatibility with various power sources guaranteed. Each pole consumes up to 600 watts of power. Communication between the composite’s components can be maintained through the radio. Therefore, during the installation process it is possible to use GSM antenna as a backup. Pole-21 can be deployed and installed in large numbers over a large area, depending on topography and topography. In favorable areas, a “dome” consisting of 100 antenna columns allows coverage over 22,500 square kilometers. Distribution of Pole-21 In August 2016, Russian media reported that the Pole-21 system was officially preparing to be put into service for the military. In November 2019, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Pole-21 had transferred to an electronic warfare unit from the Central Military Zone in charge. Shortly thereafter, in early December 2019, some sources said that the Ministry of Defense continued to deploy the Pole-21 system at base 201 of the armed forces in Tajikistan and operated in alarm mode. In January 2021, the Ministry of Defense announced that by the end of this year, the Central Military Region units would receive 10 additional Pole-21 complexes. These products will be delivered to deployment units in Urals and Siberia. Moreover, Russia also recently officially announced the Pole-21’s presence at the Tartus base in Syria. This system, which works in conjunction with other modern air defense systems, is used to counter potential raids and to prevent potential adversary attacks. In addition, experts from the 49th Army of the Southern Military Region used the Pole-21 combination in training activities. It is known that in the exercise, “Pole-21” mainly confronted the enemy drones. Future protection system The Russian Army Base 201 is the first unit to use this combination. In early January 2020, the system officially worked covering residential areas, armory and locations of important Russian air defense complexes. Through recorded reports, the use of Pole-21 combination in different exercises has brought many positive signals. These products are used independently, or in combination with other electronic warfare systems, completely convenient and effective. In October of last year, Central Military Region troops combined with the “Zhitel” jamming station succeeded in destroying UAV communications. In Tartus, with support from Pole-21, the Ratnik complex. -Kupol suppresses the signals for navigation and control channels. The recent drills in the Southern Military Region demonstrate the Pole-21 system’s capabilities to operate in the reconnaissance and attack lines of the combined armed army. Electronic warfare units act as part of the battalion-level tactical group and protect them from reconnaissance drones. The transfer of the Pole-21M serial electronic warfare system to the military has only started in mid-2019 and was received by subdivisions. It is known that the production and supply of these equipment will continue to develop, of which the Central Military Zone will receive 10 new complexes this year. In the past, the Pole-21 complex has confirmed their ability in trials, as well as their potential in the framework of various scale exercises. In particular its ability to interrupt enemy navigation, interrupt mission execution and ensure the protection of its facilities has been repeatedly demonstrated. It is easy to see that the Pole-21 unit, with all its proven advantages, deserves to be an excellent external signal suppression system, which completes the task perfectly. thanks to its high technical characteristics and mobility. In addition, the principle of preventing satellite positioning is consistent with the current development trends of the military and weapons. (According to Top War)

Mobile suicide weapon ascended to the throne

Loitering munition (LM) or suicide drones (suicide / kamikaze drones) are weapons systems that hover around to find a target and attack when the target is located. . LM has the advantages of tactical and tactical features, simplicity in production and operation, increasing survivability in combat as well as the ability to destroy targets. It also allows for more selective targeting and actual strike missions can be canceled, revolutionizing the way war is waged in volatile regions of the world. Lancet is equipped with an electric motor with a propeller in the tail and optoelectronic unit in the nose; Source: topwar.ru The LM can be as simple as a drone (UAV) and can even be built from commercial drones, with weapons attached, sent on a suicide mission. in the air for a long period of time before an attack, which simplifies reconnaissance and assault. It allows to promptly attack hidden targets in a short time without having to use expensive weapons (such as rockets, self-propelled guns using smart bullets …). Low cost creates another characteristic advantage that simplifies the organization of large-scale raids aimed at overwhelming enemy air defenses. LMs are made more complex in terms of flight and control capabilities, warhead size and design, body sensors … Some LMs may return and be recalled by the operator if they are not. used in the attack and has enough fuel left. LM first appeared in the 1980s, was used as the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) against surface-to-air missiles (SAM), and was used by the military in several countries. Entering service in the 1990s. Starting in the 2000s, the LM has been developed and has a construction suitable for wearing in a backpack for additional missions, from long range attacks and fire support. power to short-range, tactical battlefield systems. Lancet – a formidable Russian mobile suicide weapon In fact, the British were the first to come to terms with the LM weapon, but today Russia, Israel and the US are leading the way. Not long ago, the Zala Aero company of Kalashnikov Group (Russia) presented the first suicide weapon “Lancet” (“Ланцет”) – an unmanned aerial vehicle capable of reconnaissance and attack. Assigned public target, capable of completely changing combat operations in the near future. The company’s new product Zala Aero was demonstrated for the first time at the Army-Technical Forum-2019. Each combination includes a control panel providing the ability to receive and process data, as well as transmit commands to the suicide weapon. The Lancet is fabricated in a longitudinal scheme with two X-shaped wing combinations used to reduce the size of the bearing plane while maintaining the required lift; at the same time, it is possible to increase the stiffness of the structure and increase the flight speed. As a rule, Israel’s most famous LM systems built according to the classic airplane scheme have one fundamental drawback: LMs maneuver well along one axis and not maneuver along the other – which reduces the effect of an attack on a moving target. The X-shaped wing map adheres to aerodynamic surfaces, which are characteristic of missiles, overcoming this weakness. Lancet is designed with the optoelectronic unit in the nose and the electric motor connected to the propeller propeller at the tail; Widely used plastic and synthetic materials. Unlike foreign models, Lancet uses two X-shaped wings combinations; Source: topwar.ru The optical device unit has a channel that transmits the signal to the operator console, does not lose video communication with the operator until it is in direct contact with the target. This UAV is also equipped with its own navigation system capable of identifying coordinates from a variety of sources and objects. Flight and targeting can be performed under the control of the operator and independently, or a combination of the two. Experts will track it from the ground through the Russian GLONASS satellite navigation system or its own command-control system. The “Lancet-1” and “Lancet-3” models agreed on the body frame and internal system components, catapulted, capable of reaching speeds of 80-130 km / h. According to the manufacturer, they do not need additional operating facilities on the ground but can locate, communicate, attack targets within a radius of 40 km. When the UAV flies to an altitude of 5 km, it can turn off the main engine but continue to hover, mimicking the behavior of the birds, doing the mission for an additional 3 km at lower altitudes. After that, the UAV restarted the engine and flew again to a height of 5 km. With those unique features, the UAV’s field of view is increased to 1,000 km, far exceeding its counterparts. Lancet-1 has a takeoff weight of 5 kg, is equipped with a 1 kg fragmentation warhead, Lancet-3 weighs 12 kg, carries a 3 kg warhead, and both uses a contact detonator. In terms of power, the warheads of these two LMs are equivalent to medium-sized artillery shells. If the previous generation of Lancet – “Kub” (“Куб”) attacks the target according to specific coordinates, like most foreign UAVs, Lancet does not need any satellite positioning and the accuracy of astonishing hit. What makes this special is that in the event of a loss of contact with the control center, Lancet will switch to automatic target and attack mode. So, even with interference by the enemy, Lancet can still complete the mission. LM can be launched into the air both from the ground and from aircraft carriers at sea, and ships. Lancet chief architect Alexander Zakharov calls these UAVs “aerators” (“воздушноe минированиe”) as the world’s first system designed to defend against UAVs, capable of “drafting” in the air. medium for tens of hours and capable of shooting down UAVs moving at speeds below 300 km / h. Lancet’s design gives it many features and advantages over foreign models; Source: topwar.ru According to the Chief Architect, this “gas” system is being tested, to test the accuracy and combatability of Lancet in real combat conditions against static and dynamic targets; at the moment, it has already killed 100% of its target. According to Zvezda TV, from 2020 until now, both the Russian and Syrian troops have used Lancet to conduct dozens of high-precision attacks on terrorist groups in northeastern Syria. The main feature the designers are working on to improve on is stealth, including “acoustical stealth”, and here thanks to the use of electric motors, the Lancet is unmatched. In addition, the electric motor is more reliable, lighter, more compact, and cheaper. It is believed that laser air defense systems that can burn materials will be highly effective in the fight against drones. Zala Aero has developed new methods of protecting Lancet against such threats – integrating anti-laser protection, but without disclosing details. In the past few years, in the field of reconnaissance and attack, UAVs have made great progress, and a major and important modernization of drones of the Russian armed forces is expected. waiting to take place in the near future. Promising LM models will allow Air Force – Space forces and other structures to acquire fundamentally new capabilities and increase their potential, which will be able to close the gap with major powers. other. However, it takes time, effort and money./.

The Russian Defense Ministry on April 23 released a video showing the tanks moving onto the landing craft after participating in exercises on the Crimean coast.
In other shots, Russian soldiers are loaded onto armored vehicles.

Earlier on April 22, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the completion of the exercise near Ukraine and ordered the withdrawal of troops back to the base after the mass deployment of troops close to the Ukrainian border. Video: Russian troops withdraw their troops from the border with Ukraine According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the troops will return to the base by May 1. Mr. Shoigu said that the military must be ready to react quickly in “unfavorable” situations from large-scale drills led by the US, NATO and its allies, called Defender-Europe. It is not clear whether the order to recall troops back to the permanent base includes all the forces involved in the recent move to the Ukrainian border. In a statement made on April 23, Ukraine confirmed that the withdrawal of Russian troops from the two countries’ borders could ease tensions, but this step alone did not prevent escalation or conflict in the Donbass. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine have increased recently after Kiev accused Moscow of sending tens of thousands of troops closer to the border. Ukraine, Western nations and NATO have accused Russia of deploying “provocative” troops on Ukraine’s eastern border and in Crimea. Russia, for its part, insists its troops pose no threat and that its presence is only defensive and that its presence is only defensive. Moscow simultaneously accused the US and NATO of having “provocative activities” in the Black Sea region.

On the battlefield, even the quadcopter (one of the types of unmanned aircraft) popular in the civilian market is capable of conducting tactical reconnaissance and poses certain dangers.

With modern air defense systems, dealing with such UAVs is both extremely difficult and very expensive. REX-1 electromagnetic gun. (Source: Top War) To deal with small pulse and reconnaissance UAVs, Russia is developing specialized equipment such as the Kalashnikov Military Technical Corporation’s REX-series electric guns or special anti-air missiles being developed by engineers of the Russian Nuclear Center. In 2015, Kalashnikov Military Engineering Corporation acquired a stake in drone maker ZALA Aero to develop unmanned technology and anti-UAV weapons. This group is working to develop electronic warfare systems focusing on fighting against modern UAVs. Among them are two models of non-lethal weapons REX-1 and REX-2 that appeared at military technical exhibitions. REX-1 electromagnetic gun In terms of parameters and weight, the REX-1 electromagnetic gun is compact in size, comparable to modern automatic weapons. According to the manufacturer, the weight of REX-1 reaches 4.5 kg, built-in battery backup, ensures 3 hours operation. The main mission of the REX-1 is to protect critical facilities and enclosed areas from intrusive drone vehicles. This is especially important because modern air defense systems are not always guaranteed to destroy UAVs, and detecting small drones using conventional electronic reconnaissance means is difficult. towel. According to the Kalashnikov Group, REX-1 can interfere with the signals of the US GPS satellite navigation system, the BeiDou of China, the European Galileo or the Russian GLONASS within a radius of 5 km. In addition, at a distance of 1 km, REX-1 can block LTE, 3G, GSM signals, interfering with the running frequencies: 900 Mhz, 2.4 GHz, 5.2-5.8 GHz. Thanks to these capabilities, the REX-1 is able to neutralize enemy drones without causing physical harm. Besides, controlling the REX-1 is quite simple. In addition, the REX-1 is equipped with additional lights, target indicators and various points of view. REX-2 electromagnetic gun In the framework of the Army International Forum 2019, the new version REX-2 launched has been rated by many military experts as the world’s most compact anti-drone gun. The main advantage of the REX-2 is its compact size and light weight. If the original design REX-1 weighed approximately 4.2-4.5 kg, the weight of the non-lethal REX-2 was only about 3 kg and the length should not exceed 500mm. According to the developers, the REX-2 is designed to disable all types of UAVs, including optical devices used on the ground or underwater. The lighter and smaller version of this device effectively overwhelms the signal of the satellite navigation systems within a radius of 2km. The REX-2 works by suppressing radio and satellite navigation signals – technology used in the operation of most modern UAVs. The REX-2 developer wants this new weapon to be able to counter a wide variety of targets since their components are interchangeable, as well as tailored to suit missions. Specifically. Antidrone jet rockets Last March, the sheet Izvestia reported that the experts of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center are developing high-speed anti-drone equipment with jet missiles (antidrone). The antidrone missile consists of the missile hull, a target guidance system and a net-trap container (nets with dumbbells in corners). Missiles carrying “mesh bullets” shoot directly to the enemy’s drones, then open the net, ensuring to capture and disable the UAV. However, experts say, similar UAV trap projects in Russia are not effective enough to intercept high-speed vehicles when performing complex aerial maneuvers. According to the news agency RIA Novosti In order to intercept UAVs with mesh bullets, the antidrone missiles need to be adjusted to launch a network of traps at a predetermined rate.
Russian soldiers are waiting in line to board the Ilyushin Il-76 transport plane (Image: Reuters) Following the announcement, the currencies of both Russia and Ukraine surged, signaling a sigh of relief from investors just hours after Russia finished its Crimea exercise – the region that has returned to be part of the campaign. Russia in 2014. Since 2014, Russian-backed separatists have been fighting the Ukrainian government in the region. Hence, the confirmation of the Russian withdrawal is likely to be welcomed by Western countries, which have expressed concern over the prospect of Russia intervening more deeply in eastern Ukraine. This month, a spokesman for the President of Ukraine said, Russia has deployed more than 40,000 troops on the eastern border of Ukraine and more than 40,000 in Crimea, of which about 50,000 are new deployments. Moscow does not release specific numbers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy wrote on Twitter that Ukraine “welcomes any move to reduce its military presence and the situation in Donbass (eastern Ukraine)”, at the same time “grateful to international partners. supported them “. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Kyiv did not know whether Moscow would launch an attack, and said that if Russia does, the West must make sure it is on Ukraine’s side. “So now it can go in either direction” – Mr. Kuleba said – “And this is why the homogeneous Western response is so important right now.” State Department spokesman Ned Price said Washington was aware of the Russian announcement and was closely monitoring the situation at the border. “We have heard the words and what we are looking for is action” – Mr. Price said. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said he ordered the soldiers participating in the exercises to return to the base before May 1 after completing what he called a “check” in the border area. “I believe that the quick test has completely achieved its goal. The military has proven its ability to provide a reliable defense for the country,” he said. Military weapons will be gathered at a training ground near the city of Voronezh, about six hours’ drive from Ukraine, so that they can be used again later this year in another scheduled large exercise. Hours earlier, Mr. Shoigu had attended exercises in Crimea, which Moscow says involved 10,000 troops and more than 40 warships. Russia also announced that it had arrested a Ukrainian man as spies in the Crimea. Being stationed near Ukraine is one of the problems that has intensified tensions between Russia and the West. Last week, the US tightened sanctions against Russia for accusing it of cyber-attacks and meddling in the presidential election held last November. Along with that, the Czech Republic also accused Moscow of having a role in the deadly explosion at an arms depot in 2014. Both countries expelled Russian diplomats, angering Moscow to deny the allegations and expelled their diplomats in response. In an important speech on April 21, President Vladimir Putin warned Western countries not to cross the “red line”, though he did not specify what this line is. This week, however, Putin will still attend a climate summit hosted by US President Joe Biden. In Moscow, the Kremlin said Putin had received an invitation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to meet to discuss the crisis. “If the President deems it necessary, he will answer himself. I have nothing to say about that now “- Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

However, Shoigu said Russia would still keep military weapons and equipment at the Pogonovo firing range in the Voronezh region, some 160 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border for other Russian military maneuvers by the end. year 2021. Both NATO and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky welcomed the step. “The gradual withdrawal of troops from the border between the two countries will cool down tensions. Ukraine remains vigilant, but very welcome any move to reduce its military presence,” the President of Ukraine wrote on Twitter. Since late March 2021, Russia has deployed about 120,000 troops in Crimea and near the Ukrainian border, the highest level since the conflict in eastern Ukraine broke out in 2014, according to NATO reports. Russia did not confirm the increased number of troops, but confirmed that the recent Crimea drills involved 60 warships, more than 10,000 soldiers, about 200 aircraft and 1,200 ground vehicles.

The Russian army assembles on the Ukrainian border?K Palace spokesperson: deployment is not a precursor to war

Reference News Network reported on April 16 According to a report on the website of the Russian “Labor Daily” on April 14, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said on the 14th local time that Russia had deployed 110,000 soldiers in the border areas of Ukraine and Russia. Uzbek Defense Minister Taran said: “According to the data we have collected, Russia is continuing to prepare more troops for advancing to the Ukrainian border. After adding more troops, the total number of Russian troops concentrated along the Ukrainian border will reach 56 battalions. Level tactical group, a total of 110,000 people.” Taran believes that Moscow’s move is preparing for offensive operations, “to ensure water supply to the Crimea peninsula.” The Uzbek Defense Minister said: “So far, Russia has increased its army in Crimea to 42,000. They have been incorporated into the Joint Assault Corps, which can use a series of weapon systems to attack.” Taran also pointed out that Russia has strengthened its air force in Crimea and improved the capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet, which can “execute important airborne operations.” Russian Defense Minister Shoigu stated on the 13th that the Russian military successfully deployed two army groups and three airborne regiments to the western border during the inspection of the armed forces’ readiness. He said: “At present, these troops and corps have been dispatched to participate in the exercise.” Satellite imagery confirms army maneuvers According to the British “Jane’s Defense Weekly” website reported on April 14th, Russia continued to increase its troops to the western Ukrainian border of the country. The reporter has confirmed that the troops deployed to Crimea include the elite Russian 76th Airborne Division, which is equipped with the BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle and the “Arrow”-10 tactical air defense system. In addition, the 31st Engineering Corps equipped with trench excavation and river crossing equipment is likely to have also been deployed in the area. According to reports, satellite images have confirmed the scale of deployment of some troops. The 136th Motor Infantry Brigade was one of the first troops stationed in Crimea. Its BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle first appeared in Crimea on March 30. Satellite images show that the number of combat vehicles of the brigade at the base in Dagestan has been greatly reduced, indicating that the brigade has carried out large-scale mobilization. The report also said that in Voronezh, the Central Military District is also continuing to gather. Satellite images show that as of April 9, an important camp in southern Voronezh has assembled about 70 main battle tanks, 100 infantry fighting vehicles, 70 artillery (including long-range multiple rocket launchers) and about 3,000 soldiers. . The video shows that the railway continues to deliver equipment to Voronezh. The report pointed out that the Russian Black Sea Fleet was reinforced by 10 small ships from the Caspian Sea Fleet. The Southern Military Region also began to strengthen the air power of the Black Sea Fleet. At least seven Su-34s of the 559th Bomber Regiment were deployed to the Saki Air Force Base in Crimea. Russian officials stated that the mobilization of troops was related to training exercises. However, reports believe that the current deployment is inconsistent with Russia’s normal training plan. U.S. says it wants to provide assistance to Uzbekistan According to a report from the TASS news agency in Brussels on April 14, US Secretary of Defense Austin issued a statement on the 14th at a joint press conference with Secretary of State Blincoln and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that the United States will provide Ukrainian self-defense. assistance. He declared: “I call on Russia to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity. We will provide assistance for Ukraine’s self-defense.” Austin reiterated the US’s “concern” stance on Russia’s military construction. He said: “We will continue to closely monitor activities in the region and continue to consult with partners.” The US Secretary of Defense stated: “Our national security team has always provided the President with a variety of solutions to maximize the use of all elements of national strength. We are screening the solutions presented to the President. I will focus on this.”

According to the report, Austin made specific instructions for material assistance. He pointed out: “We have been providing material assistance to Ukraine for some time. This includes daily materials and equipment and some weapons. In addition, we have also sent some instructors to assist.”

Austin said: “In the future, we will continue to take such steps in accordance with the needs of Ukraine.”

“Putin tried to use pressure to promote negotiations”

According to a report by the Buenos Aires Economic News Network of Argentina on April 14, Ukraine is a “strategicly vital country” for Russia. The Kremlin believes that it is absolutely necessary for Russia to keep Ukraine within Russia’s sphere of influence. A necessary condition for defense.

According to reports, Zelensky only received tepid support during Trump’s administration. The visit to the White House gave Ukrainian President Zelensky a chance. He began operations to enable the new US government to more directly intervene in the conflict and to draw a red line for Russia’s path forward. However, in the context of pandemics and economic recession, Biden does not seem to have much time to consider Ukraine.

The report pointed out that Putin is very aware of this, so he may decide to seize the weakness of the United States at this time to concentrate the army on the Ukrainian border, and hope that this pressure will force the Ukrainian leadership to work hard to negotiate a political solution to the conflict. At the same time, as long as the conflict continues at this level, NATO seems unwilling to intervene, and even turned a deaf ear to Zelens’s request for a road map that would enable Ukraine to join NATO when necessary.

The report also pointed out that NATO’s calculation seems to be that Russia is unlikely to escalate the situation too much. Analysts believe that Moscow may threaten, but does not want to get involved in another costly conflict without a clear exit strategy.

According to reports, as far as Ukraine is concerned, if it can be avoided, it absolutely does not want to start a protracted war with its major neighbors. Kiev also knows that once any offensive action is taken against Russia, it is possible to lose the pitiful support of the West.

“In view of all these circumstances, the confrontation will definitely be concentrated in a limited area along the ceasefire line, but it will not exceed that range. As long as the violence is contained, it will not lead to further sanctions against Russia.” En Bremer pointed out.

On the evening of April 12, 2021, an unidentified aircraft illegally entered Belarusian airspace from the Polish side.

After flying over Belarus for a while, the plane returned to Poland.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus announced this, after which Minsk officially asked Warsaw to explain. A few days later, Belarus said Russia would deploy an air defense system over the territory of Belarus.

On April 15, during the working process of the CIS Air Defense Coordination Committee, the Commander of the Belarusian Air-Defense Force, Major General Igor Golub, said that next summer, the Belarusian army and the army The Russian team will begin a joint combat mission, for the air defense force at one of the airfields of the Republic of Belarus.

The heads of the military agencies of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation by the end of 2020, he said, had approved the plans for the two countries’ unified regional air defense system.

In the actual facility will be deployed by the forces and means of the Belarusian Air and Air Defense Forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The Belarusian military leader drew attention when he reiterated that the servicemen of the Belarusian Republic regularly participate in joint training with the Russian army.

In 2021, the Belarusian Air and Air Defense Forces will participate in exercises at Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region and in the “Battle of the Commonwealth – 2021” exercise.

Furthermore, this year, the country plans to conduct joint “West-2021” strategic exercises with Russia.

Major General Igor Golub added: “We would like to reiterate that, in March this year, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko authorized the deployment of the Russian Aerospace Forces on the territory.”

According to Major General Igor Golub, the joint monitoring of Russia and Belarus is in fact a response to the willingness to respond to the aggressive approach and behavior of NATO and the Western countries.

Apparently, it was the actions of Poland and NATO that prompted Belarus to quickly enter into agreements with Russia.

Mr. Tomasz Piotrowski was the one who announced Moscow’s “aggression plans” concerning Europe “safe” and promised to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces “- Topwar wrote.

According to the Ukrainian press, General Tomasz Piotrowski made such a promise in a telephone conversation with the Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Unification Force, Sergei Naev.

Polish army – documentary photo.

During the phone call, the Ukrainian general informed the Polish side of the current situation at the border with Russia, and also talked about the measures taken by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to “not allow the Russian army to enter. to be European ”.

According to the Ukrainian commanding officer, Kiev is considering a number of options for the development of the situation and has been fully prepared to “contain the enemy.”

In response, Polish General Tomasz Piotrowski expressed his support as well as the Minister of Defense and the President of Poland for Kiev. Mr. Tomasz Piotrowski promised to continue assisting Ukraine on the path of joining NATO.

Earlier, according to Topwar, many people may have expressed support for Kiev over the background of the “Russian threat”.

But, all was just words, for no one would fight for Ukraine, not Poland “against Russia”, nor the “free republics” of the Baltic states, nor the United States. together with NATO will directly do as promised.

“Yes, you can do it at least ten times a day. Poland can also supply weapons. But no one has the desire to send his army to the Donbass battlefield “- the Russian newspaper sarcasm.

MLRS can destroy infantry, armored and armored vehicle targets in the area where artillery batteries, headquarters and ammunition are concentrated. This system will allow the Ukrainian military to protect its borders, strait and territorial sea as well as naval bases and coastal infrastructure within missile range.

Russian website Rg.ru said that the 9P140 truck belonging to the MLRS series launch missile system of the Ukrainian army had a serious accident on the Odessa – Mariupol highway.

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the MLRS convoy is on its way to the city of Mariupol on the coast of Azov, to strengthen its defenses against a threat from Russia.

The original cause was identified as a technical problem from the driver’s part, and another reason highlighted by the Russian press was that the vehicle’s use status was too long and the lack of spare parts. cure.

Russia’s War Records page details a catastrophic failure scenario for Ukraine if it were to start a war with Russia.

Ukrainian army.

In vestnik newspaper, the (unnamed) officer said there was little hope that the West would be able to prevent Russian President Putin from conducting a large-scale military operation in Ukraine this spring.

“Unfortunately, because Ukraine itself is simply incapable of creating anything that could influence this decision (the actions of the Russian military – PV).

Ukraine has indeed lost too much time and has been in vain to modernize its defensive areas, which are capable of repelling a potential large-scale military campaign from Russia.

Kiev’s military is said to be unable to inflict any significant “sensitive damage” on its enemies while countering a Moscow offensive.

Ukrainian special forces.

I’m under no illusions about this like some politicians, bloggers, journalists and other citizens of the country. I know all too well the current state of the Ukrainian army and their combat capabilities, the real capacity of the army as opposed to these people (Ukrainian journalists, bloggers…).

Of course, the Russian military is significantly inferior to the U.S. military and the army of several other NATO countries, if not nuclear weapons (NW).

But, unfortunately, it is clear that when escalating the war, the person must take into take into take into calculation the element of nuclear weapons. It is because of this type of weapons of great destruction that 2016 both the US and NATO have not entered into the conflict in Ukraine as “as wise adults.

Even if both American destroyers, the warships in the coming days, enter the Black Sea, detecting a Russian attack on the Ochakov area of Ukraine, they almost certainly do not enter the war.

Ukrainian Navy.

The amphibious fleets of the Black Sea Fleet did not even care about the presence of American warships, would ignore them and enter Ukrainian territory to conduct offensive operations.

American aircraft will also not be crazy but shoot down russian Armed Forces aircraft on the territory of Ukraine, even, they will not bomb russian gathering areas.

President Erdogan’s Bayraktar (Ukraine purchased by Turkey) drones will also not make much of an impact on the operation of the Russian military. These flying vehicles simply won’t have enough time to fight.

Russian Air Force Su-27 aircraft.

Ukraine’s domestic airports will be quickly bombarded by missile strikes or captured by ground forces.

Between now and April 20, kiev’s enemies (Russian military – PV) will have an attack group three times larger than the need to defeat all the main forces of Kiev’s armed forces on the left bank of Ukrainian territory. I predict “D-Day” will fall the following week after that day (April 20)…

Modern tanks of the Russian Army.

Based on the situation before an attack (assumption), I clearly envisioned the plans of the Russian military in the first week of my offensive march. There will be three main offensive directions and two second directions.

The purpose of the three main directions of attack was to encircle the entire Ukrainian Armed Forces group in eastern Ukraine, defeating and arresting the group.

A training-level strike from the north, in the concentrated area of the 3rd Motor rifle group, intensified by gunmen from the Valuyki districts of the Belgorod region, would cut off the road to Kharkov in the Izyum region and the Russian military would occupy the entire place.

Russian special forces.

In the important positions in the south, especially the Novomoskovsk region. From the south, the assault group stationed on the Crimean Peninsula, intensified by several groups of troops of the two amphibious forces (Pskov, Tula), will launch an offensive along the Melitopol-Zaporozhye-Novomoskovsk line.

As a result, the remaining retreats of Ukraine’s combined forces to the Dnepr region will be severed.

At the same time, the main combat-ready forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be separated from all large armys in which the Ukrainian army can fight back as fiercely and prolongedly as possible.

After the formation of a strategic siege that is gradually closed by the northern and southern attack groups in the Novomoskovsk region, a direct attack will be carried out by the forces of the 150th motor rifle group on the front lines in Donbass in order to cut the ukrainian combined forces into 2-3 parts. I believe in the full moon.during this period, Russian offensive campaigns will last from 3 to 5 days.

Large amphibious landing ship formation of the Black Sea Fleet.

In the period lasting from 2 to 5 days from the time the Russian attack is activated, two second attacks (as mentioned above) will be carried out.

The force consisting of about two Brigades of Russian Marines, after landing in the Ochakov-Koblevo area, will attack in the direction of the Kakhovka, aiming to encircle units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Ochakov, Nikolaev and Kherson.

At that time, a ceremonial battalion of the Russian army could also be sent to Odessa for the “liberation of Odessa” event.

The remnants of the 28th Brigade and the Ukrainian Navy left in combat forces in Odessa are unlikely to cause serious resistance.

Ships of the Black Sea Fleet.

It is not helpful to attack the Russians again at the moment, even if this remaining force only effectively stops the Russian army. Immediately accepting surrender “in honor” is something that will surely happen.

Part of the force of the Russian military’s “Ochakovsko-Koblevsky” amphibious operation will be sent toward Kiev, at which point I think this Russian force will be limited to occupying/intercepting the defensive fire of the 72nd brigade and Belotserkovsky airport.

There will be a special hunt for the drone “Made inTurkey/built in Turkey) Bayraktars.

Ukrainian Bayraktars drone purchased from Turkey.

I believe that the task of occupying bayraktar tactical drone operating facilities on the ground and american counterattack radars will be assigned by Russia to special operations units because they have the autonomy to perform combat missions separate from the main military wings.

This tactic of the Special Forces of the Russian Federation was successfully used in Georgia in 2008 to capture/destroy objects far from the main military activity area.

Thus, during the 2008 war, small groups of Special Forces of the Russian Navy attacked Georgian coast guard vessels received from the US at the port of Poti, dismantling and removing early warning radar equipment (also american) from within Georgian territory.

Ukraine’s defensive weapons.

These forces have carried out separate operations. The complete absence of defense troops in Ukraine facilitates such groups to operate at almost any battlefield depth.

A second additional attack will be carried out from the Bryansk region through Chernigov against the facilities of ukraine’s 1st Tank Brigade in Goncharovsky and the Desna training center.

I don’t know what enemy units (Russian military – PV) are now, but information about the formation of an attack group there has been leaked online.

Elite special forces of the Russian army.

The objective of this attack was to take over the center of training of reserve forces, an area very important to the capital Kiev. When successful, Russian forces here will pose an extremely great threat to Kiev from the North.

After forming a closed-siege force against the remaining Ukrainian combined forces, it is very likely that the enemy will enter Kharkov (again, ritualically, as in Odessa) and raid separate bases along the Kharkov-Kiev highway to Boryspil, to create a threat to Kiev from the East.

Again, according to my estimates, the enemy has a three times the amount of reserves to perform the tasks described above. I believe it will take 5-7 days to complete them,” the Ukrainian officer wrote.

As reported by TASS, the Russian Defense Industry Complex has begun development of the new generation Kedr intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system. The project is currently in the process of outlining the plan and the actual development process is expected to be implemented by the end of 2023. This project has an important role in the field of Russian intercontinental missiles.

Russia possesses a variety of ground-launched strategic missiles

The Russian military currently deploys about 310 strategic land-based missiles, capable of carrying 1,189 nuclear warheads. This is much less than the 400 U.S. missiles, but the number of nuclear warheads carried is 1.5 times that of U.S. missiles.

Overall, the Russian Army possesses a variety of surface-to-surface strategic missiles, which are currently in the upgraded stage, in the future the number of samples will be reduced further toward comprehensive modernization.

The active land strategic forces of the Russian Army consist mainly of the following three divisions:

Liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile: The representative of this line is the Satan intercontinental ballistic missile. It was a heavy intercontinental ballistic missile that entered service in the late 1980s, with a total of 46, deployed at Dombarovsky and Uzhur missile bases.

The missile has a range of 11,000 km, a flight weight of about 211 tons, an attack accuracy of about 400 m, can carry 10 guided nuclear warheads, which is Russia’s most powerful strategic missile.

However, due to its long service life, it has now begun to retire. The successor missile is the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, which has a range of 18,000 km, a flight weight of about 208 tons.

In addition to carrying a guided nuclear warhead, it can also carry the Avangard supersonic missile as the first payload, which further improves the attack performance of the missile. In the future, the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile will completely replace the Satan intercontinental ballistic missile.

Intercontinental missiles use solid engines. Currently the main equipment of the Russian military is the Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missile, which has been deployed since 2012, with a total of 78. On that basis, Russia continued to launch Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles, mainly improving the warhead design, increasing the number of guided nuclear warheads and penetrating equipment.

Both have a range of about 10,000 to 12,000 km, a flight weight of 47 to 49 tons. They can be deployed in both fixed and mobile launch wells. Currently, 155 Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles have been commissioned and have been deployed in combination with topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Supersonic missile. Russia attaches great importance to the development of supersonic weapons. In March 2018, President Putin unveiled the Avangard supersonic missile. The missile was successfully tested on December 26 of that year and has been deployed since 2019. The missile, which has an atmospheric Mach 20 flight speed and a range of more than 10,000 km, is currently deployed at the Dombarovsky missile base, in the future it will be equipped with at least two missile regiments.

Outstanding development characteristics

Russia’s surface-to-surface strategic missiles have strong reserves and large-scale equipment, playing an important deterrent role in early warning counterattacks and over-the-top strikes. The general development characteristics of the missile are as follows:

In terms of missile performance, the focus is on improving penetrating capabilities and survivability. With accelerating the deployment of U.S. missile defense systems globally, Russia attaches great importance to improving the penetrating capabilities of strategic surface-to-surface missiles.

The Avangard supersonic missile deployed at the end of 2019 has a maximum flight speed of Mach 20. The Russian military claims that it can penetrate any missile defense system in the world. In the future, intercontinental missiles such as sarmat will be equipped with such supersonic warheads to improve intercontinental performance.

In terms of technological development, follow the development roadmap of both solid and liquid bodies. Russia’s liquid missile technology has developed complete, its technical performance and reliability stand at the top of the world. The Satan intercontinental ballistic missile has been using the technology for more than 30 years and is an “ace” weapon to deter the West. In the future, the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile will serve as a replacement model.

In addition, Russia insists it will develop the name Solid intercontinental fire with strong mandability and ease of operation, and has achieved technological breakthroughs. The solid intercontinental ballistic missile, represented by Yars, can carry four guided warheads and penetrating equipment, the number of missiles deployed has reached more than 150, which has closed the gap with the US to a certain extent.

In terms of implementation, Russia follows the path of development combining fixed and mobile. Beginning in the 1990s, Russia has focused on the development and deployment of mobile strategic missiles, and has repeatedly launched intercontinental ballistic missiles such as Topol-M and Yars.

According to the latest figures, Russia has 180 mobile strategic missiles, accounting for 45% of the total missiles, which is the highest rate in recent years; fixed-launch strategic missiles have about 130, accounting for 55%. In the future, this ratio will be maintained in order to maintain the mutual complementary capabilities of the two implementation methods.

A look at kedr’s next-generation strategic missile

According to Russian media, the new generation of Kedr strategic missiles is in the process of drafting the plan. Analysts say Kedr uses solid fuel and is believed to be able to become a “ballistic missile at full speed”, capable of replacing the Yars missile system by 2030.

This project is part of the process of modernizing the strategic weapons of the Russian Strategic Missile Force. Similar to the previous generation, the new systems will be deployed in two models of mobile launchers and ground bunkers.

Russia is currently equipped with five types of surface-to-surface strategic missiles, which has put enormous pressure on logistics maintenance and combat command. Therefore, Russia wishes to accelerate kedr development so that there are many models ready to replace. Notably, the Kedr missile will most likely use the Pioneer supersonic missile, as its warhead to enhance its deterrence capabilities.

In addition, Russia intends to apply artificial intelligence technology to nuclear command, control and communication systems through the Kedr strategic missile project to accelerate decision-making procedures, improve the overall reliability and safety of the system, in order to achieve greater efficiency when intercepted by missile defense systems.
