As a rule, Porsche tests new technology first on the race track – including a new high-tech battery. Because there are no suitable batteries on the world market, Porsche will produce them in-house in the future.

From Tim Diekmann, SWR

If you sit in the new Porsche Taycan, you don’t have to do without the usual sound. Although the first fully electric Porsche should glide almost silently across the street, it sounds either like a bubbling sports car or – when accelerating – like an intergalactic rocket. Porsche calls this “Electric Sport Sound” – because the Swabian car manufacturer does not want to deliver its newest vehicle completely without sports car noises. The luxury sports car, which Porsche sold 20,000 times worldwide last year, is only supposed to be the beginning of an electromobility initiative.

High-tech battery made in Germany

In just two years, every third Porsche should be equipped with an electric motor – as a hybrid or fully electric. For this, Porsche needs lots of powerful batteries. But they are hard to find on the world market, says Porsche boss Oliver Blume: “We need high-performance cells for our electric sports cars. But we can’t find them anywhere at the moment. That’s why we develop and build these cells ourselves.” The first battery cells are expected to roll off the assembly line from 2024, initially for around 1,000 vehicles per year. “The focus will initially be on small series for racing and high-performance vehicles. In the future, however, this is not just about racing cars,” explains Blume at the official presentation at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach. In the first step, innovative technologies are usually only developed for a limited high-tech application, “but once the innovations have proven themselves there, they will gradually establish themselves across the board. That must be our goal. At Porsche, that’s what we call it Principle: from motorsport to series production. ”

The growing number of e-cars on the streets is causing the battery market to grow strongly.

Range model Tesla

For battery cell production, the Stuttgart-based company is working with the German company Customcells, which it claims to be a world leader in the development of lithium-ion battery cells. The joint venture operates under the name Cellforce Group.

According to automotive expert Stefan Bratzel from the Center of Automotive Management in Bergisch-Gladbach, it is logical that, after Volkswagen, Porsche is now also relying on the production of its own battery cells: “The battery cell accounts for the largest part of the car’s added value, and it has a lot of innovation potential . Automobile manufacturers who develop competencies in this area have a long-term competitive advantage. ” According to Bratzel, Porsche should not chase after the competition for the US electric car manufacturer Tesla, but rather must lead the way as an innovator.

Production of battery cells VW plans six “gigafactory”

VW is planning six battery cell factories by 2030, and a Europe-wide fast charging network for electric cars is also to be built.

New battery technology promises many advantages

According to the head of electrochemical energy technologies at the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research in Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), Markus Hölzle, the batteries as we know them today should still develop their potential: “Everything can, must and will be improved Above all, however, the cost of battery cells must be reduced further. And the energy density must also increase so that the batteries become more compact. ” The ability to recharge quickly is also important. To do this, Porsche wants to work with so-called silicon anodes, which “has two major advantages over the previously used carbon: it improves the ability to charge quickly and increases the energy content,” explains Hölzle. But now Porsche must first show that they can do it.

But while Porsche is still planning the future, competitor Tesla is already building the world’s largest battery cell factory in Grünheide near Berlin and promises a production capacity of 100 gigawatt hours per year, a thousand times as much as Porsche’s subsidiary Cellforce Group.

Climate neutral by 2030?

The focus on e-mobility and the setting of climate targets is an important step for the brand, emphasizes car expert Bratzel. “Porsche is a brand that nobody really needs, but many people want to have it because of its positive image. And I believe that it is becoming more and more important for the Porsche clientele in particular to say: ‘I have a sports car and still drive in a climate-friendly way . ‘”

Climate protection has long since become an image factor. This also shows the ambitious goal of the Swabian car manufacturer to be “balance sheet CO2-neutral” by 2030 and thus earlier than Daimler (planned for 2039) or Volkswagen (planned for 2050).

Environmentalists are skeptical

The environmental protection organization Greenpeace is skeptical whether Porsche will really be climate-neutral by 2030. “Unfortunately, ‘climate-neutral’ on the balance sheet ‘usually means that in the end generously cheap CO2 credits are bought from offsetting projects instead of consistently reducing CO2,” says Benjamin Gehrs from Greenpeace. With its large SUVs, Porsche consumes an unnecessarily large amount of resources. Porsche must also get out of the business with climate-damaging diesels and gasoline engines faster and more consistently than before.

So will the Porsche 911 possibly soon hit the streets as an electric car? Unlikely. In addition to battery cell technology, Porsche is also working on the development of synthetic fuels, so-called eFuels, which are to be produced using renewable electricity. Artificial sports car sound, as in the Taycan, is then unnecessary. At Porsche, the first step is to advance research in the field of battery cell development. The federal and state governments support the project with 60 million euros

Free corona tests Pharmacies want to reduce supply

Status: 06/20/2021 07:22 a.m.

In view of falling demand and less money from the federal government, many pharmacies want to reduce their range of corona rapid tests. The implementation is no longer economical. Due to the falling demand for corona tests, Germany’s pharmacies want to limit their range. Since the number of fully vaccinated is increasing and infection protection rules have been relaxed, the need for tests is decreasing, said a spokesman for the Abda pharmacists’ association. He also pointed out that the federal government pays less than before. “This means that it is no longer economical to carry out the tests for a number of pharmacies.” The test offer will therefore probably get smaller step by step. Alongside private companies and state institutions, pharmacies are among the most important test center operators. According to Abda estimates, around 20 to 25 percent of pharmacies offer so-called citizen tests – that is, rapid tests that are free for consumers and paid for by the federal government.

Corona tests Test providers will get less money from July

So far, operators of corona test sites have been able to charge 18 euros per test – this amount will soon be reduced significantly.

Less money for tests

Originally, the pharmacies, like all other providers, received up to 18 euros per antigen test carried out, now the federal government only pays up to 12.50 euros. In the corona pandemic, spring tests were key to ensuring that people with a negative result could visit restaurants or shops.

However, the number of infections is now so low that loosening takes effect and a visit to a restaurant or shopping is permitted even without a test result. In addition, fully vaccinated people are exempt from test requirements.

Vaccinate, test and be careful – that is the Federal Government’s creed in the Corona crisis.

Fewer and fewer rapid tests

Figures from the NRW Ministry of Health show how much demand is falling. Last Thursday there were 306,000 rapid antigen tests via the test centers in the state. Of those, 216 were positive – a percentage of 0.07 percent. A week earlier there were 498,000 tests in one day (positive: 0.08 percent); a month ago it was 594,000 (positive: 0.23 percent). The number of test sites in North Rhine-Westphalia was recently stable at 9236 – it will probably decrease in the future.

The Association of the Diagnostics Industry, which represents manufacturers of tests, assumes that the demand for antigen tests in the test centers will drop significantly in the summer. The manufacturers will “of course adjust to a permanently falling demand,” said an association spokeswoman. But they are working on tests that could detect both influenza and coronavirus disease. Such tests could help in the fall, should there be a flu wave and the number of corona infections rise again.

After interim analysis CureVac defends its vaccine

Status: 06/18/2021 10:19 a.m.

Although an interim analysis of the CureVac vaccine only showed an effectiveness of 47 percent, company boss Haas does not want to know anything about a failure. He is hoping for further tests so that the vaccine will be ready for the market after all. The negative news for the Tübingen company CureVac continues. At first, the company lagged behind the competition in developing its corona vaccine. Then the company went late to the crucial phase 3 to test its vaccine – at that time there were already several variants of the coronavirus. The next bad news followed yesterday: CureVac announced in a mandatory stock market announcement that, according to an interim analysis, its corona vaccine had a preliminary effectiveness of 47 percent against Covid 19 disease “of any severity” have. The value is significantly higher for the other preparations approved in the EU.

CureVac Story of a disappointed hope

While the world is now being vaccinated with BioNTech, CureVac has proven to be ineffective. Why?

“Wild type hardly plays a role anymore”

Company boss Franz-Werner Haas has now gone on the offensive. He defended the company’s corona vaccine against the dpa news agency. No other vaccine has been tested on so many virus variants, he said.

“In fact, it is actually not correct to compare the number of the provisional effectiveness of our corona vaccine and the numbers of the effectiveness of other vaccines”said Haas. The study on the corona vaccine candidate CVnCov contained 29 virus variants. The original virus, the wild type, hardly plays a role anymore. “The efficacy figures for the other vaccines would probably look different if their studies had been carried out at a later date.”

   06/17/2021

CureVac vaccine not very effective Crash of a Bearer of hope

The CureVac crash hits countless private investors, taxpayers and the German vaccination campaign.

Degree in three weeks

The Tübingen-based company would like to complete the analysis of the data from the final study phase in the next two to three weeks. Haas was convinced that the effectiveness of the vaccine would change again. As soon as this has been completed, CureVac will advise the EMA as to whether further data is required.

The company remains convinced that it will bring its vaccine to approval. According to Haas, even a possibly relatively low effectiveness should not stand in the way. “In view of the pandemic, it can only be said: If there is an effective vaccine, it should also be used.” Haas also referred to the numerous developing countries in which little or no corona vaccines are currently available. The scientific director of the vaccine study at CureVac, Peter Kremsner, believes that it will certainly be possible to make the vaccine operational. In an interview with the BR he said: “That will work for sure. From my point of view, this will not be possible in the next few weeks. But it will be possible to prepare the vaccine so that it can be very effective.”

“It was a noble cause”

The SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach estimates that the setback when entering the market will contribute to the vaccination campaign losing pace for two to three weeks. The promise of the federal government to make a vaccination offer to all adults by the end of the summer is not at risk. “We will reach herd immunity in mid-September”said Lauterbach in the daily topics .

Lauterbach pointed out that the CureVac serum is the “noble” I wanted to be a cheap and very effective vaccine. It would have been predestined for poorer countries. The EU had promised 400 million doses of CureVac to poorer countries. Lauterbach assessed it as a tragedy that this delivery has now been canceled.

No withdrawal of the investor

The announcement of the preliminary effectiveness had caused a drastic plunge in the stock exchange price of CureVac. Investor Dietmar Hopp still believes in the company. He will definitely stay as an investor, he said “Munich Mercury”. He is a firm believer in the company.

The federal government is also holding on to its stake in CureVac, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs said. The federal government has no influence on the operational business, explained the ministry spokeswoman

Allegations against rapid test providers Incorrect billing, high material costs

Status: 14.06.2021 6:12 p.m.

The rapid test chain MediCan is said to have, among other things, billed medical services and estimated excessive material costs for the tests. Learned that NDR , WDR and SZ from judicial circles. By M. Grill, A. Henze, J. Lange, G. Mascolo, C. Basl and P. Milling, NDR / WDR The two heads of the MediCan rapid test chain have been in custody for more than a week. The Bochum public prosecutor’s office had issued arrest warrants against the owner Oguzhan C. and his son and managing director Sertac C. because they are said to have accounted for as medical centers, although they lacked the prerequisites for how WDR , NDR and “Süddeutsche Zeitung” learned from judicial circles. In addition, they are said to have charged the federal government for antigen tests at higher prices than they actually cost in purchasing. The public prosecutor’s office is also investigating the suspicion that the company billed a significantly higher number of tests with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians than were actually carried out in the more than 50 centers. The suspected provisional damage amount is in the low double-digit million range, according to the assessment of the public prosecutor. One of the accused is represented by lawyer Reinhard Peters. As he announced on request, there was “an hour-long interrogation by the public prosecutor’s office” last Friday. Mr. C. Senior sticks: “All the tests that he billed have also been carried out.” Peters had no knowledge of the doctors previously mentioned in the MediCan’s legal notice – “as far as I know, according to the file, they have not yet been questioned”. Overall, Peters said of the allegations: “If there are reclaims here, then that will be reimbursed in full. That is no question at all.” His client did not try to disguise anything either, but made everything very open. “I just think that some things may have been misunderstood here. But I don’t see any intention of fraud behind this at all.”

Doctors who were almost never on site

Had only last week WDR , NDR and SZ reports how easy it makes the test regulation to charge excessive prices for rapid tests to the federal government .

    06/04/2021

Suspected fraud Arrests at the rapid test operator One suspect was arrested during a raid, the other had surrendered, said the prosecutor.

Until the MediCan case was uncovered, the imprint of the chain’s website also listed three medical professionals as “doctors responsible for carrying out the test and training staff”. Since then, the names of these doctors have disappeared. In principle, citizens’ tests that are carried out in rapid test centers under medical supervision can be charged three euros more per test than normal rapid test centers, whose remuneration is capped at 18 euros per test. All three MediCan doctors mentioned were employed full-time as plastic surgeons in a hospital in Lower Saxony, as the hospital confirmed on request, which did not know anything about the secondary activity of the employees. According to his own information, Dr. W. has been working for MediCan since December, Dr. P. and Dr. A. on the other hand only since April. Your task was to “answer telephone queries from the on-site staff,” as the clinic announced on behalf of the doctors. Dr. W. also carried out on-site staff training. He also checked on site every one to two weeks whether the hygiene regulations were being adhered to. “Messrs. Dr. P. and A. were never on site,” the clinic announced on request.

In future there will be no more differentiation in billing

It is not entirely clear whether and when test centers are allowed to charge the higher medical price for rapid tests. While the North Rhine Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians emphasizes that “a doctor must be physically on site” and the KV Berlin also states that a licensed physician “must be constantly present”, Roland Stahl, spokesman for the Federal Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, announces that the doctor will Smear sampling could be delegated, but had to be “mostly on site”.

    06/10/2021

Corona tests Test providers will get less money from July So far, operators of corona test sites have been able to charge 18 euros per test – this amount will soon be reduced significantly.

The Ministry of Health, in turn, takes the position that a rapid test center can only bill as a medical service provider if “the medical management is closely involved in the care and organizational structures”. It is “not absolutely necessary that the doctor is permanently physically present”. “At the same time, however, it is not sufficient if a test site is formally under medical supervision, for example because it is run by a higher-level company under medical supervision,” writes the department. Before the case became known, 54 test centers nationwide were listed on MediCan’s website, Oguzhan C. himself said that the company had 102 locations. It is noticeable that not only MediCan, but also many test providers advertise the names of doctors on their websites. It is unclear who also bills the higher rate as a medical service provider, especially since the statutory health insurance associations do not answer any questions about individual providers. The sums they pay out are ultimately taxpayers’ money.

There is also a security gap in MediCan

The Federal Ministry of Health wants to end this confusion with the new test regulation. In the future there should no longer be a difference between “the remuneration of medical and non-medical service providers”. In the future, both should only get eight euros for the test and a flat rate for the test material. Some test site operators such as Hamburg’s top dog Moritz Fürste are already complaining that they will then no longer be able to work profitably and will have to close their centers. On the LinkedIn platform, Fürste writes: “If I were to reduce it to eight euros, I would have no choice but to close everything.”

   Exclusive 05/27/2021

Corona pandemic Rapid tests out of control Research by NDR, WDR and SZ shows how easy it is to report incorrect numbers – and nobody checks it.

At Medican there is also the fact that the company apparently also had data security problems. The full names, date of birth, email address and registration date of the customers could therefore be viewed with little effort. This emerges from a report by the IT security collective “Zerforschung” to the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the WDR , NDR and SZ is available. Accordingly, booking codes from customers were only available with the seven-digit time stamp of the registration. This made it possible to see the personal data of customers from May: “In short samples, more than 15 percent of the attempts were successful,” the report says. It was no longer possible to determine whether test results could also be viewed. MediCan’s lawyer confirmed that there was a data gap in the booking confirmations. The server is now offline. MediCan’s test centers no longer exist.

Corona pandemic Pfizer trials vaccine on young children

As of: June 9th, 2021 8:38 pm

BioNTech and Pfizer also want their vaccine approved for children under 12 years of age. The first studies on this have already started. The product will soon also be tested on babies. From Antje Passenheim, ARD Studio New York BioNTech and the pharmaceutical company Pfizer are advancing the development of their Covid-19 vaccine for use in younger children. As Pfizer announced in New York, the group has expanded its clinical study to children under twelve years of age.

Admission already in October?

In the first tests, a small number of minors were given different doses of the vaccine. According to Pfizer, around 4,500 children between the ages of six months and eleven will now take part in studies in more than 90 facilities in the United States, Finland, Poland and Spain. Tests on five to eleven year olds began this week. They receive either a placebo or two doses of ten micrograms each. This corresponds to a third of the dose that adolescents and adults receive. Pfizer expects to get US approval for five- to eleven-year-olds by October. In a few weeks, children aged six months and over will be brought in for a study. These should only receive three micrograms per vaccination. A short time later, the group wants to apply for approval for children up to five years of age.

Severe disease courses in children are rare

Pfizer sells the serum developed by BioNTech, a Mainz-based company. Since children are generally less likely to get seriously ill with Covid compared to adults, the group relies on a lower dose vaccination for younger children, which should also have fewer side effects. In the European Union, the USA and Canada, the vaccine is already approved for children from the age of twelve and is sometimes used. In the United States, nearly seven million teenagers have received at least one dose of vaccine, according to health officials.

TikTok wants to encroach on e-commerce. (Image: Bloomberg) TikTok wants to repeat the success of Douyin – the version of TikTok exclusively for the Chinese market. Only in the first year, Douyin earned 26 billion USD in e-commerce transactions. According to Bloomberg, TikTok has started a partnership with a number of brands so that they directly sell products to millions of users right on the app. It is not clear when TikTok will officially announce the feature. A representative of Hype, one of the brands TikTok partnered with, confirmed the experiment. According to images provided to Bloomberg, Hype’s booth in TikTok displayed a range of products with photos and selling prices. ByteDance – TikTok’s parent company – is actively exploring the Chinese e-commerce market in the hope of writing another glorious medal in the company’s history right before the IPO. The company aims to process more than $ 185 billion of global e-commerce transactions by 2022 based on the reach of TikTok and Douyin. Unlike Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance’s app is well known globally. Founder Zhang Yi Ming wants to use it as a stepping stone to the online shopping game. ByteDance remains a slowdown in China’s “social commerce” market, where celebrities sell products to followers. In the email, TikTok said it is experimenting and learning, and constantly discovering many new ways to add value. Currently, the major social networking companies are scrambling for online retail market share, a market expected to generate $ 5 trillion in sales this year. In May 2020, Facebook introduced a new tool to improve the shopping experience on Facebook and Instagram. Pinterest also jumped into the e-commerce market when it brought buyers to the seller’s website. For its part, TikTok has challenged the online shopping market through promotional campaigns with Walmart and Shopify. Businesses often mark products on TikTok content, with a link that leads buyers to their own website, but all of it takes place within the TikTok application. TikTok wants to lock users down more tightly by allowing brands like Hype to run booths on the platform, take orders and interact directly with buyers. TikTok hopes to sell more ads to sellers, increase traffic and eat commissions. In December 2020, Zhang told TikTok employees that e-commerce, when combined with short videos and livestreams, offers even greater opportunities outside of China. The company has quietly built up a team of engineers in Singapore to develop its e-commerce business. It is very likely that TikTok will successfully re-establish with videos suggested by artificial intelligence when it comes to shopping online. Du Lam (According to Bloomberg)

The amendment to the Infection Protection Act will also make labor law rules on home office and quick tests more binding. However, they are still not really mandatory.

By Christoph Kehlbach, ARD legal editors

What changes are there in terms of home office?

In the professional environment, too, the legislature is concerned with minimizing the number of direct contacts as much as possible. The aim is to contain the uncontrolled spread of the corona virus. For this purpose, there has been a right to work from home since January. The Corona Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance says: “In the case of office work or comparable activities, the employer must offer employees to carry out these activities in their home, if there are no compelling operational reasons.” However, employees were more or less free to decide whether to make use of this right. So if you – for whatever reason – wanted to work in the office rather than at home, you could do that too. Now, the change in the Infection Protection Act will also increase the pressure on employees: The above wording is written into the law. So far it has only been found in the ministerial occupational health and safety ordinance. It is supplemented by the following sentence: “The employees have to accept this offer, provided there are no reasons to the contrary on their part.” It should therefore become the rule that, where possible, office work is done from home.

What exactly does that mean?

The new wording makes it clear: employees should no longer be completely free to decide whether they should go to the office after all. You now need a reason for this. However, the requirements are not as high as those of employers. They only have to offer a home office if there is a “compelling reason”. Employees only need a “reason” if they do not want to work from home. So the requirements are not high here. The explanatory memorandum gives examples of “limited space”, “interference by third parties” and “inadequate technical equipment”. Other reasons are possible. It is also sufficient for the explanation that the employee informs the employer of the reason. So there is no need to provide evidence.

What is the situation with corona rapid tests in the workplace?

Something is also happening in terms of rapid tests: The relevant provision of the Corona Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance is to be changed on this point. Instead of once a week, employers should now have to provide their employees with a quick test twice a week. However, there is still no firm obligation to take the tests offered. Unlike many school students, employees are free to decide whether to test themselves before going to work. From a legal point of view, the increase from one to two quick tests offered is not part of the “federal emergency brake”. Because this change will not be in the Infection Protection Act, but in the corresponding occupational health and safety ordinance. It was therefore not part of the current voting. Incidentally, at the state level there are a few regulations that make it mandatory for certain employees to be tested. Such rules are currently still the exception.

How are the changes to home office and quick tests to be assessed?

Employment lawyers such as specialist lawyer Michael Fuhlrott from Hamburg see the home office obligation as an appeal rather than a binding legal obligation. The increase in the home office quota is the right approach, but the content of the new regulations does not convince him. In terms of rapid tests, it is difficult to understand why there is no obligation to test for employees. “If you look at rapid tests for a suitable means under infection protection law, an increase in the weekly test frequency will only lead to success if everyone participates. Everyone means here, however, companies and employees: Tests offered but not perceived help protect against infection in any way regardless of whether the employer offers this once, twice or even daily. “

In the future, companies will be obliged to offer employees corona tests at least once a week. The German middle class has already announced that it will take legal action against the obligation decided by the cabinet.

Now it’s official: employers in Germany will have to offer their employees compulsory corona tests from next week if they are not working from home. That is what the federal cabinet decided. It is only about an obligation for companies to make an offer – there is no obligation to test for employees. The employers also do not have to document whether the employees have accepted the offer. Labor Minister Hubertus Heil said that he had already signed the ordinance and that it would come into force “next week”. Initially, it applies until the end of July. Usually the employer has to offer one test per week. Employees in professions with a high risk of infection should receive an offer twice a week.

Up to 30,000 euros fine

The health and safety authorities of the federal states should monitor compliance with the obligation – for example in response to a complaint from employees. Violations can result in a fine of up to 30,000 euros. Government spokesman Steffen Seibert called on employees to accept the offers. “The Federal Government appeals to employees to act responsibly and to accept the offers for testing that are made to them, although they are not obliged to do so.” The employers have to pay for the costs. Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz rejects a reimbursement by the state. “This is now a national effort and everyone has to participate,” said the SPD politician in Deutschlandfunk. “Companies that have a business that can continue their production are in a far better position than the companies that now really struggle every day with the fact that, for example, the restaurant is not opening, the hotel is not operating properly can be.”

“Effort not disproportionate”

Scholz also referred to the extensive economic aid in recent months. “Last year it was 80 billion. If you add the tax breaks, just under 190 billion, all together,” said the SPD candidate for chancellor. “That is why I believe that this mandatory test is a reasonable and necessary measure.” Minister of Labor Heil also defended the new requirements. “It’s an effort, but it’s not disproportionate,” said Heil im ARD morning magazine. The CDU Economic Council expects the tests to cost German companies more than seven billion euros a month. Some small and medium-sized businesses couldn’t afford the hassle. Companies that have been badly hit by the Corona crisis can count the expenses for the tests as a cost item for the bridging aid.

Business associations are storming

Nevertheless, the business associations are storming against the regulation. “Once again politicians are trying to shift their duties on to employers, not to mention the costs,” said the President of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA), Anton Börner, to the newspapers of the Funke media group. Nine out of ten companies would already test their employees for the corona virus or will do so shortly. As a matter of principle, Börner only advocates event-related tests: “Fixed test intervals are unsuitable.” The German middle class announced that they would file a lawsuit against the agreed obligation to offer corona tests. “Medium-sized companies must and will defend themselves against this. As an association, we are currently preparing the necessary legal steps for this,” said Markus Jerger, Federal Managing Director of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Business (BVMW) to the newspapers of the “Funke Mediengruppe”. “Corporate testing is a lesson in policy failure.” He accused the federal government of having failed all along the line when it came to testing and vaccination logistics. The craft also clearly opposed compulsory testing. “We still consider a statutory test obligation for our craft businesses to be neither necessary nor expedient,” said the President of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH), Hans Peter Wollseifer, of the Rheinische Post. He also criticized that the state wanted to “shift responsibility for fighting the pandemic to the economy”. Most companies are volunteering to test their employees or are preparing to do so immediately. A test obligation is “a legally unnecessary action”.

Still a long way off from a nationwide offer

In fact, only a third of companies currently offer their employees one test per week. Another 30 percent were aiming for this in the next four weeks, as the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) announced after a survey of 2000 companies from the end of March to the beginning of April. Minister of Labor Heil that is not enough. The offer must be comprehensive, he told him ARD morning magazine. At the moment the situation is very different depending on the industry and company size. As the IAB survey shows, the most tests are carried out in large companies. According to this, 60 percent of the companies with at least 250 employees offer their employees corona tests, a third of these companies planned to do so recently. As the size of the company decreases, the proportion of companies that already give their staff a test opportunity drops rapidly. According to the IAB survey, there are also clear differences between the sectors. Corona tests are most widespread in education, health and social services, where 58 percent of companies already offer corona tests and a further 22 percent were planning to do so. In the area of transport and logistics, the test offer is only 17 percent.

Sufficient tests available?

Small companies in particular are wondering whether enough self-tests are now available at all. According to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn, the deficiency that existed in March has been eliminated. On Friday he had assured that there were “more than enough of the tests”. The federal government has ordered over 130 million self-tests for the months of March and April from various manufacturers, above all Roche and Siemens. According to the ministry, there are also enough rapid tests for use by trained staff. For this year they have secured a quota of 550 million and, if necessary, a further 100 million pieces.

The husband did not suspect his wife but still wanted to do DNA tests with the children.
The incident happened to Mr. Lin, who lives in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (China). It is known that Mr. Lin married Ms. Huang in 2008. The couple has 3 children together. However, the life after marriage of Mr. Lin and his wife is always in the state of “rice is not good, soup is not sweet”, often arguing and angry with each other arise.

In March 2020, Mr. Lin decided to have a DNA test with his three children, who just wanted to feel safe and secure about his wife’s feelings. Unexpectedly, the results returned surprised him to the point of “speechless”.

It turns out, the two boys born in 2013 and 2015 are not his own children. Realizing that his wife had been “cuckolded” for a long time, Mr. Lin was furious. Unable to reconcile with his wife after the surprising discovery, Mr. Lin decided to file for divorce. He also asked his wife to compensate 1 million yuan (more than 3.5 billion) on the grounds that his wife had betrayed twice that made him extremely painful and angry.

The case was brought to trial by the Kaohsiung City Court in April 2021. Appearing at the trial, Ms. Huang said that during the time he lived together, Mr. Lin not only had a negative attitude, but also was addicted to alcohol and refused to become a practitioner. The money she struggled to earn was all spent on unworthy things by Mr. Lin, while her family was not well-off, and even had to live on social subsidies.

Family situation increasingly difficult. At the time of giving birth, Ms. Huang had to apply for a child care allowance from the Kaohsiung City government to pay for the medical facility. She even had to eat toast and vegetables to hold her breath and give rice to her children so that they wouldn’t go hungry.

Ms. Huang revealed that Mr. Lin never took care of the children. Whenever they get drunk, they treat their wife and children like sandbags and beat them badly. Even when the husband and wife separated, Mr. Lin refused to pay child support.

Despite the sad story, Ms. Huang said that she did not justify adultery. However, she felt that the 1 million yuan compensation fee was too large and unreasonable, so she asked the court to reduce it to 100,000 yuan (more than 350 million dong).

Taking a DNA test, the husband “froze” when 2 of the 3 children were not biological. Illustration

In the case of Mr. Lin and Ms. Huang, the judge said that the fact that Ms. Huang had a relationship with a third person and gave birth to two illegitimate children violated the marriage law and legal interest in the relationship. husband and wife with Mr. Lin.

However, during the time living with Mr. Lin, Ms. Huang suffered a lot. After the separation, she had to work hard every day at the construction site, but the money she earned was still not enough to live and raise 3 young children. In addition, Ms. Huang had a labor accident, broke her arm, and reduced labor power.

After considering many different factors, the court ruled to ask Ms. Huang to compensate Mr. Lin 200,000 yuan (more than 700 million dong). The three children are still raised by Ms. Huang, but Mr. Lin is responsible for supporting the couple’s common child.

Before that, another man in China also secretly took a DNA test with his son because he saw that the bigger he was, the more like his grandfather. However, this man not only could not find evidence of his wife’s adultery, but also caused the scene of “breaking the door and breaking the house”.

Specifically, Mr. Chu and his wife trusted each other through the recommendation of a friend, soon afterward they got married and planned to have children because both are not young. Six months after the wedding, Mr. Chu’s wife had good news, her pregnancy was extremely smooth. On the day of his wife’s labor, Mr. Chu was working in another province, but was able to catch his wife’s delivery on a flight. The baby was born in the joy of the whole family.

However, Mr. Chu is always on guard in his doubts about why the older son is, the more like his grandfather, he does not have much resemblance to him or his wife. To resolve the growing doubts, Mr. Chu decided to go to three different hospitals to assess his father and son, but did not tell his family.

The results returned both concluded that Mr. Chu and his son had a blood relationship. Mr. Chu was even more relieved when he heard the doctor explain that it was normal for children to resemble the elderly in the house.

Mr. Chu hid the story of going to the DNA test carefully, but the wife still found out. Hearing her husband’s explanation, the wife became even more indignant and heartbroken when her husband did not trust her.

Feeling hurt and offended, also seeing that Mr. Chu was not qualified to be a husband, the wife decided to move things to her grandmother’s house, leaving only a divorce petition. Many people know that it will not heal for Mr. Chu.
