Jacob Hopkins, the first volunteer directly infected with the virus These volunteers have lined up to participate in the “human trial,” which has long been successfully used to develop vaccines for diseases such as typhoid and cholera. The world’s first human trial for Covid-19 began in the UK in March of this year, as scientists tried to determine the minimum dose of virus needed to infect volunteers. from 18 to 30 years old. Alastair Fraser-Urquhart, human trial volunteer Alastair Fraser-Urquhart “registered immediately” to participate in the trial and also became the manager of 1Day Sooner, a British non-profit that advocates for volunteers to participate in research studies. save on humans. “We are really, really lucky that an mRNA vaccine is a viable platform to start with, but there is no guarantee it will,” he said, “And even if it turns out to be completely useless. , thanks to a test like this, you can detect that in a matter of weeks instead of months.” Mr Fraser-Urquhart was one of the few to take part in the first phase of the trial, in which volunteers were screened before going into isolation at the Royal Free hospital in London. A few days later, the virus was injected into Fraser-Urquhart’s nose by a scientist wearing full protective gear while he lay in bed wearing only a T-shirt and jeans. There were about six other researchers, all covered from head to toe, standing in that room. “One of them stood in the corner of the room and counted down the seconds… as if it were a rocket launch,” Fraser-Urquhart said. He said the experience was both terrifying and memorable. “In the same room with such a large amount of pure virus… it looks like normal water. I didn’t expect to see coronavirus like this.” According to Jacob Hopkins, the first volunteer directly infected with the virus, after being injected, they will lie down for 10 minutes before sitting up and holding the position for another 20 minutes. “When we finished, we were… high five. It was a really weird moment, it was like “that’s great, Covid!”? And then it all really started.” After contracting the virus, the participants were monitored 24 hours a day for at least 14 days, and blood samples and nasal swabs were collected every day. Both Fraser-Urquhart and Hopkins felt fine for the first few days, but had to go through a few “difficult” days before recovering. “Honestly, it wasn’t easy, but it was an extraordinary experience, and one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life,” Hopkins said. “When you contribute to a project that can bring a lot of good… it feels good to be a part of it.” After discharge, the participants were followed up for a year so the researchers could detect any long-term symptoms. Overall, each person will be supported around £4,500 (VND 146.8 million) for their contribution. Fraser-Urquhart donated his first donation to The Vaccine Alliance, and plans to donate the rest to other charities. “It’s good to be able to demonstrate that at least some of the volunteers participate purely out of compassion,” he said. “Actually, this support never influenced my decision to join.” Some scientists have hesitated to expose volunteers to Sars-CoV-2 – the virus behind COVID-19 – because it currently has no cure, although there are several methods. The treatment has been shown to be effective. Meanwhile, some advocates of the trial argue that the coronavirus poses a low risk to young and healthy people and offers high benefits to society. These benefits include the ability to accelerate the development of a second-generation vaccine, as developing countries grapple with inadequate demand. They can also be used to compare people who are suitable for vaccines, develop treatments, and advance the scientific understanding of the virus.

Do not touch your face with your hands

Illustration. Usually we have the habit of touching our face, whenever something strange appears. However, you must know that hands are the place to come into contact with surrounding objects, so they will accumulate a lot of dirt and bacteria. Since then, the habit of regularly touching your face has inadvertently created an opportunity for dirt and bacteria to enter the skin most easily and cause acne. Therefore, to soon improve the condition of acne, you should first remember not to touch your face with your hands. In addition, do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly before applying cosmetics or performing daily facial care steps. Do not arbitrarily pop acne On the other hand, many people’s habit of arbitrarily squeezing acne with their hands also makes acne worse. You may think that squeezing acne is an effective acne solution, but it is still a “double-edged sword” that makes your skin worse every day, also because you squeeze acne incorrectly or because acne cysts are damaged. Injuries take longer to recover. Use only oil-free skin and hair care products Makeup powders, hair gels and other cosmetics should be oil-free. Oil clogs the pores, causing acne to develop. Use products labeled “oil-free”, “non-acnegenic”, “noncomedogennic”, “non-comedogenic”. feathers” (won’t clogpores). Apply acne medication before makeup This helps make-up not affect acne and also does not lose the effect of the drug. Continue using the medicine when the skin is clear of acne To maintain results and prevent acne from returning, at least one acne medication is needed in most cases. If you are using an over-the-counter medication, you can reduce the frequency of application to a few times per week.

Courtney Wilson and Shenita Jones have invited family and friends to their “dream home” for a weekend wedding.

There is only one problem: They are not the owner of the 1,500 square meter villa and are not allowed to use it by the owner. This villa has everything on site: a bowling alley, swimming pool with waterfall, hot tub, tennis court, bar 240 meters long. The marriage of him and his girlfriend here is “God’s plan,” said Wilson. But the truth is that Nathan Finkel – the owner of the villa has never allowed the couple to hold a wedding at their home. Nathan was stunned when Wilson showed up on Saturday morning to set things up, so he called the police. The villa the couple plans to have their wedding ceremony “Someone has trespassed on my property,” Nathan informed the 911 dispatcher. And they kept harassing me, calling me. They said they were going to have a wedding here and that was God’s will. I don’t know what’s going on. All I want is for it to stop. Now, they are sitting on my property, right in front of the gate. Later, two police officers told Wilson that he had to get out of here. Wilson obeyed and no charges were filed. “I don’t want to talk about it anymore,” said Wilson when asked. It is known that Nathan – the owner of the villa – is trying to sell this real estate for the past 2 years for more than 5 million USD. Before that, Wilson was said to be a potential buyer. He visited the mansion a few months ago. A few months later, the guy asked Nathan if he could have his wedding in the backyard, but Nathan refused. However, that refusal did not stop the couple. They kept calling Nathan to tell about their love story. As expected, after the wedding on Saturday afternoon will be a cocktail program on the red carpet and the reception lasts until midnight. The next day’s party will run from noon to 4 p.m. Wilson knew the mansion was vacant but did not know that Nathan was living in another house on the same estate. The groom was shocked as soon as he reached the gate when he met the owner of the house. Dang Duong (According to AP)

Apple supports employees to vaccinate Covid-19 in its offices. Recently, Apple technology company said that they are starting to implement a program to support employees to vaccinate Covid-19 voluntarily right in their offices. An Apple spokesperson said the iPhone manufacturer is currently working with Walgreens Boots Alliance as a supplier and will open a website for employees to register and schedule injections. Apple was one of the first major Silicon Valley companies to launch a program to help its employees get vaccinated. Apple also encourages employees to get the Covid-19 vaccine and allows them to take leave to go to the clinic and to recover if symptoms occur after the injection. Apple also hopes its employees can return to offices soon after working remotely due to the pandemic. Last month, the Amazon Group also gave Covid-19 vaccines to frontline employees, starting in Missouri, Nevada and Kansas. Earlier this month, Germany’s largest private banking group, Deutsche Bank AG, became the first major bank in New York, US to say it would support Covid-19 vaccination staff at my office.

Participants in the “Deep Time” study emerged from the Lombrives Cave after 40 days underground. Photo: AP. After 40 days of voluntary isolation, on April 24, a group of volunteers consisting of 15 people participating in a scientific experiment called Deep Time came out of the vast Lombrives cave in southwestern France. They consisted of eight men and seven women living in the deep, dark and wet caves to help researchers understand how humans adapt to drastic changes in conditions and habitats. They have no watches, no sunlight, and have no contact with the outside world. With bright smiles on their pale faces, 15 volunteers left the Lombrives cave in cheering applause. They must wear special glasses to protect their eyes after long periods of time in the dark. When returning to the ground, all the volunteers wore special glasses to avoid shock to the light. Photo: AP. Marina Lancon, 33, one of seven female members in the test, said: “This is like being pressed on an emergency pause button.” Ms. Marina still wanted to be able to stay in the cave for a few more days, but she also said she was happy to see the wind blowing in her face again and to hear birds singing in the trees in the French Pyréneés. And she said, in a few days she has no plans to reopen her smartphone to hope to avoid a “too brutal” return to real life. The group of volunteers began to return from the ground. Photo: AP. For 40 days and nights, the team lived and explored the caves as part of the Deep Time project. There is no sunlight inside, the temperature is 10 degrees C and the relative humidity is 100 percent. The cave dwellers had no contact with the outside world, had no pandemic updates, nor any contact information with friends or family. Scientists at the Human Adaptation Institute leading the 1.2 million euros ($ 1.5 million) “Deep Time” project, said this experiment will help them better understand how people adapt to drastic changes in conditions and habitats. Because they don’t have a clock, team members keep an eye on their circadian clock to know when to wake up, go to bed, and eat. They count their days not by hours, but by their sleep cycle. Therefore, Project Director, Mr. Christian Clot was surprised that the time in the cave was over: “We think it’s only been 30 days.” The estimate of one team member is only 23 days. Members participating in the Deep Time project study speak during the press conference after returning from the Lombrives Cave after 40 days underground. Photo: AP. Working with laboratories in France and Switzerland, the scientists tracked the 15 members’ sleep patterns, social interactions, and behavioral responses via sensors. This sensor is designed as a small thermometer inside a capsule that participants swallow like a pill. It measures body temperature and transmits data to a computer until it is naturally cleared out. On April 23, the scientists told the study subjects they would be out soon. After the 40-day challenge, 2/3 of the group still wished to stay in the cave for a little more time.

Thanks to the voluntary surrender of the people of Ha Tinh, many rare and precious animals have been released to the natural environment to be preserved and preserved.
The pig-tailed monkey weighing 9 kg is a group of rare and endangered animals

On March 23, 2021, while gardening, Mr. Le Quang Hoa (Yen Trung village, Tan Lam Huong commune, Thach Ha) discovered and caught a pig-tailed monkey.

The information that Mr. Hoa caught the pig-tailed monkey was quickly known to many people, some people in Ha Tinh city offered the price from 4 to 10 million VND to buy back. However, all negotiations were unsuccessful when Mr. Hoa announced that he would hand over the monkey to the functional industry for release to the natural environment.

“Thanks to the propaganda of the local authorities and the forest rangers, we are very aware of the conservation and preservation of rare and rare wildlife. In addition to carefully taking care of the monkey in 3 days of captivity, I reported to the local authorities to have a solution ”- Mr. Hoa shared.

Thach Ha District Forest Protection Department and functional departments have identified a 9 kg pig-tailed monkey, belonging to a group of endangered and rare animals, so it handed over to Vu Quang National Park for release to the wild. At the time of handover, the monkey was in stable health.

It is known that from 2018 up to now, Thach Ha Forest Protection Department has received 6 rare animals including 5 monkeys and 1 turtle individual voluntarily surrendered by the people. Particularly in the first 3 months of 2021, the unit received 2 individuals of pig-tailed monkeys and moldy monkeys from Mr. Le Quang Hoa’s family (Yen Trung village, Tan Lam Huong commune) and Ms. Tran Thi Phuong (Lien Pho village, commune Thach Hoi).

Propaganda and mobilization of people to protect and preserve rare animals has been actively implemented by Thach Ha Forest Protection Department for many years.

On the morning of March 27, fishermen Vo Quang Hoa (Dong Tay Xuan village, Cam Ha commune, Cam Xuyen) released their nets in Cua Nhuong waters and caught a rare sea turtle.

According to authorities, a sea turtle weighing 5.2 kg, a red shell, and a yellow underbelly is a rare animal in the Vietnam Red Book. Anh Hoa has contacted the local authorities to release the sea turtle back to the natural environment. This is considered a beautiful act of local people to conserve the environment.

The voluntary handover of wildlife to the natural environment by local people has made an important contribution to biodiversity conservation efforts. Some even spend money to buy wild animals from hunters and hand them over to the forest rangers. For example, in 2018, on the way home from work, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tue (living in Thach Linh ward, Ha Tinh city) discovered a resident selling a golden monkey (belonging to group 2B) for 2 million VND, so he purchased to return to the forest rangers.

Director of the National Park Vu Quang Nguyen Danh Ky said: “From the beginning of 2020 up to now, the unit has received about 560 individuals including monkeys, turtles, pythons … from the people. Among the individuals that voluntarily surrendered, there are many animals of high economic value. That shows that, when people’s awareness of protecting wildlife is increasing, the propaganda is more effective ”.

Vu Quang National Park receives monkeys from the Provincial Police Environmental Police Department to release them to the natural environment.

According to the Director of Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department, Hoang Quoc Huan, the propaganda, dissemination and education of the law on the management and protection of endangered wildlife and wild animals has always been paid special attention. and regularly renew the contents and forms in order to raise awareness among civil servants and all walks of life.

Since then, people’s awareness and responsibility for wildlife protection has been raised. In 2019 up to now, the unit has organized 68 deliveries between people, forest rangers and forest owners with a total of 625 individuals; Of which 97 individuals are endangered, precious and rare wildlife species of group IB, IIB, such as: langurs, monkeys, cool-eyed civets, civet civets, hornet python, king cobra, old bird bracken, spoonbill, eagle, turtle; 528 common wild animals such as: Hon, horn, bird …
