Located in a densely populated urban area in Ho Chi Minh City, the house was created with the desire to create as much space as possible, providing an interesting living atmosphere. The architect’s idea was to rearrange the allowable space by taking 2 internal spaces from the main block, dividing them into smaller blocks and attaching them back to make a balcony. In this way, the architect created an empty space that allows wind and natural light to flow to every corner of the house while keeping the required area. The house is 5 floors high, including 7 rooms, including 2 atrium rooms with private yard. These 7 rooms embrace 2 spaces inside with some balconies facing the outside. The interior void offers a private courtyard, a laundry balcony and a ventilation shaft. Meanwhile, the outside balcony along with the double-layer brick creates a “dual leather” facade that protects the townhouse from tropical weather. The location of the balcony and the trees are randomly studied to help the building have something in harmony with the surrounding context. The bedroom is simple and bright.
