Founded in Gracie Mansion in 1923, the Museum of the City of New York moved to Fifth Avenue in 1932, just steps away from Central Park. In the following decades, the museum has accumulated a large number of unique collections, such as Eugene O’Neill&#8217;s manuscripts, a whole room of Duncan Phyfe Furniture, Jacobs 412 glass negatives taken by Jacob Riis, and the men&#8217;s suit worn by George Washington at the inauguration. Today, the collection of the Museum of the City of New York has nearly 750,000 items, including a variety of prints, photographs, decorative art, costumes, paintings, sculptures, toys, and theater memorabilia.<br />

On the first floor of the museum, the award-winning documentary &#8220;Timescapes&#8221; dubbed by actor Stanley Tucci is played every 40 minutes on the first floor of the museum, allowing the audience to watch the history of the city in 28 minutes and learn about the past and present of New York.<br />
