After stressful working days, HCMC diners can reward themselves with a relaxing afternoon at the 5 exquisite and impressive European-style tea and cake spaces below.
Afternoon tea is a beautiful culture of England and is increasingly popular around the world. Afternoon tea was introduced in 1840 by Anna – the seventh Duchess of Bedford. Royal dinners are served at 8pm so the duchess often goes hungry around 4pm. She asked to bring into her room a tray of tea, bread, butter and cakes. This gradually became a habit of the duchess and she also invited friends to come to the regular. A traditional afternoon tea usually consists of several types of burgers, baked goods with cream and jam, and pastries. Suggested dishes: Coconut ice cream, Tiramisu, chamomile tea … Located in the top hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, the Park Lounge’s lavish and lavish space is where visitors can come to enjoy afternoon tea and pastries. Address suitable for meetings with partners, friends. When I entered the Park Lounge, I was conquered by European space, high windows, brilliant crystal chandeliers. I come on weekends, during the time the restaurant serves buffet with tea, cakes, melodious music. The price of 800,000 VND / person is quite high compared to the general premises, but it is also worth it due to the expensive location, 5-star standard space. In my opinion, the tea flavor here is not too special but the cakes are varied and the taste is much more impressive. Besides the famous cakes such as tiramisu, panna cotta … the lollipop-style coconut cream is also impressive. The cream is covered with young coconut rice, served with palm sugar sauce, and it doesn’t taste too sweet for me. However, my tea-cake experience will be more perfect if the staff here are not too indifferent. Suggested dishes: Summer Paradise Tea, Apple Cinnamon Tea, Red Velvet Cake, Choco Lava Cake … Different from the splendid tea shops often found in Ho Chi Minh City, Partea – Tearoom has vintage colors, suitable for ladies who love classic style. The shop is located in an apartment on Nguyen Hue Street with a warm indoor space and a balcony overlooking the pedestrian street. Opening the door and entering, the aroma of essential oils makes me feel light, every corner of the shop is meticulously decorated with elaborate teapots and cups. I have been here since September 2020, ordering a set of tea and three-tier pastry cages for about 500,000 VND / 3 people. The staff enthusiastically guided us to choose the desired cup, followed by tea (can be combined with milk, honey or sugar). There is also an hourglass to keep the tea hours hot enough. I choose chrysanthemum tea with fragrant and light flavor, the cakes vary widely, but to me the taste is a bit sweet. Suggested dishes: Chocolate cake, red bean cake, tart, opera cake, pumpkin cake … Located on the 6th floor of The Reverie Saigon, Café Cardinal owns a splendid space with columns, marble floors, glass windows overlooking Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. At the door of the hotel, customers will be guided by Door Man to take the elevator to the 7th floor and walk down to the 6th floor, so it is a bit inconvenient. It is divided into 2 areas, one side is A La Carte-style restaurant, the other serves coffee and tea. The space inside is quite small, suitable for couples or small groups. Afternoon tea at this address starts at 15am, diners enjoy tea and chats with friends, while watching the city from above. Each visitor here ordered a set of tea cakes, but the serving was quite a lot, eating it easily. Suggested dishes: Sakura Tea, Valentine Breakfast Tea, London Breakfast Tea, Chocolate Truffle Cake … The menu with hundreds of different teas is a feature that diners mention about TWG Tea. The tea shop located in the heart of District 1 has a spacious, classic space with velvet chairs, white tablecloths … The pastry menu is not too rich and the price is expensive compared to the general premises (about 200,000 VND / dish). Member Phuong Anh said she was quite satisfied when enjoying the high tea set here: “A full set of tea pots, cakes, 2 creme brulee, 2 scones or 2 muffin muffins priced at VND 650,000”. Phuong Anh chose Sakura tea and rated the taste for easy drinking. Creme brulee is fine to eat, has tea body so it does not get sick, used with tea is quite delicious. No matter how busy a week goes, I still keep the habit of going to cafes and afternoon tea shops on Saturdays and Sundays. CHLOE Gallery with a cool and delicate outdoor space is a destination I definitely will visit in the future. Afternoon tea party here takes place around 14-19h30, diners can order tea set, cakes priced from 250,000 VND or add savory cakes, wine with prices from 750,000 VND. Afternoon tea party often carries heavy on the form and way of enjoying tea, not simply a cup of tea, a piece of cake. At CHLOE Gallery, each small cake in a snack is also beautifully presented, which is a big plus.
