A man drowned after falling into the water after a dragon boat broke in Guangming Port, Fuzhou
Distressed! The bad news is coming! A well-known calligrapher and painter in Fujian drowned while rowing a dragon boat! Haidu Media’s reporters learned that on the afternoon of June 14 near Guangming Port in Fuzhou, a dragon boat capsized and broke. Several dragon boat riders fell into the water and one person was missing.
According to people familiar with the matter, the dragon boat team was organized by Xiamen University alumni. The deceased was a native of Fuzhou, Fujian. He was a young Chinese calligrapher and painter, a stone seal carver, an art designer, a senior Chinese music singer and composer, and a member of the Fujian Artists Association. He has won many national awards.
The location of the incident was near Guangming Bridge, because he was dressed in ancient costumes and did not wear a life jacket.
Currently, the police have been involved in the investigation.
