She also planted strawberry trees on the terrace. Currently, the tree is ripe fruit. According to Ms. Loan, to have a green garden with high productivity requires gardeners to be experienced, diligent to explore and have a love for trees. In addition, growers must visit the tree every day to see if the plant is sick, has root rot or stem rot. “Caring for trees is like taking care of children. As for insect repellent, Ms. Loan is made from waterpipe tobacco soaked with alcohol, incubated for 5-7 days and then watered for the plants. As for fertilizers, she uses soybean residue, spoiled bananas, eggshell, and kitchen waste to make compost. Using these types of waste as compost not only helps to provide enough nutrients for the plant, but also helps the tree produce more fruit, beautiful color, succulent, sweet. The next step in this woman’s rooftop gardening is to treat the soil before planting. “Treating the soil to get rid of germs is already 50% successful in gardening,” she said.
