For hundreds of years, the proverb “there is heaven above, Suzhou and Hangzhou below” has been widely circulated. “Heaven on earth” is still a good name for Hangzhou by people at home and abroad. One end is connected to Hangzhou West Lake, known as the “paradise on earth,” and the other is connected to the Huangshan Mountain in Anhui, which is known as “Returning without looking at the mountains.” A “exquisitely beautiful” Fuchun River wanders among the mountains like a green streamer.
