Debbie’s balcony garden

Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city, having the second largest Port of Hamburg in the European Union. The life here is quite exciting, bustling and extremely busy.

In the midst of that busy city life, the girl Debbie created a green space right on the family’s narrow balcony.

Debbie shared: “I am a cat lover and a lot of plants and plants. Until I get older with the years, I definitely still cultivate a love of these simple things in life and experimentation. on his balcony “.

The results were obtained from Debbie’s small garden

With a love for natural food and horticulture, choosing a horticultural job is understandable to Debbie.

“Imagine that you will enjoy the food that you grow yourself, moreover you can experience, learn to take care of plants to grow,” Debbie said.

In fact, Debbie came up with the idea of creating a balcony garden before she lived in an apartment with a balcony.

Luckily Debbie later selected an apartment with up to three balconies and when moved to live, everything was fine.

“I’ve decided to dedicate a whole balcony just to growing vegetables and herbs. After five years of balcony gardening, I eagerly await each harvest,” Debbie said.

A small space planted a variety of fruit trees in the busy city.

On the large balcony area, Debbie chose to grow tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, beetroots and luckily all of them were successful. Depending on the season, she grows some new vegetables or grows flowers, fruits and herbs to decorate the balcony.

Debbie also set up a tea table to enjoy a cool space, relax after a stressful working time.

Debbie understands that the balcony garden cannot use the natural regeneration processes as efficiently as a normal garden. So the girl used the same soil for the past 5 years and luckily everything worked fine.

To keep this going, Debbie has mixed soil from different planters to incorporate a variety of nutrients. In the spring, before planting new plants, Debbie mixes the soil with a nutrient-boosting fertilizer.

Most of Debbie seeds are purchased from the organic seed store. She also tries to collect more and more seeds from her own garden plants and use them the following season.

The biggest hurdle for Debbie is the preparation to take care of the garden every season. Each year Debbie experimented with a combination of small spaces and tree care and choosing the right soil type.

Debbie hopes she can inspire many other cultivators.

She said: “No matter how small your space is, you can get a great reward from growing. Even if there is only a small flower pot on the windowsill you can learn a lot about it. The nutrient needs of the plant, understanding how the weather influences the gardening for me, gardening requires perseverance and I appreciate it. change your view of things that you never thought before. ”
