State Secretary of Information Ministry of Information of Cambodia died of COVID-19

Cambodia’s Ministry of Health said on April 16 that the country had just recorded two new deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in this country to 38. Among these, there is the State Minister of Information of Cambodia. – Mr. Mao Ayuth (77 years old).
According to the Phnom Penh PostOut of 262 new cases, there is one Chinese patient, one Vietnamese patient. The remainder were Cambodians, including three children from three to 13 years old. Before that, on April 14, Cambodia also recorded a Vietnamese case.

All cases on April 15 are related to the community outbreak on February 20. The total number of cases from this outbreak has reached 4/938 cases.

Phnom Penh – currently under social exclusion – remains the city with the most cases with 232 cases, followed by Preah Sihanouk with 12 cases.

Two more new deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 38 deaths.

In which, there is State Minister of Information of Cambodia – Mr. Mao Ayuth (77 years old).

Mr. Mao Ayuth was admitted to the hospital on April 5, and died at 4 p.m. on April 15, after suffering organ failure caused by COVID-19.

He is a highly regarded filmmaker in the Cambodian art world, knowledgeable in many disciplines including film, video, music and poetry.

Thus, as of April 16, Cambodia had recorded a total of 5,480 cases of COVID-19, with 3,044 cases under treatment and 38 deaths.
