The price of each Australian mango used to be up to hundreds of thousands of dong, but now it is only over 10 thousand dong per kg, widely sold at the Southern Wholesale Market, Hanoi.
If in previous years, Australian mango exports with large fruits usually cost 40,000 – 50,000 VND/kg, this year this mango has dropped dramatically but the purchasing power is still slow. As noted by a VOV reporter, at the Southern Wholesale Market, Hanoi, each kilogram of Australian mangoes currently costs from 10 to 15 thousand VND. The giant mango variety weighs a pound, even the fruit is up to nearly 2kg, sweet, fragrant, thick mango flesh, dark color looks very eye-catching. Ms. Hoa – a small trader specializing in selling fruit at the Southern Wholesale Market (Hanoi) shared that every year Australian mango exports should be priced. This year, due to the influence of the disease, mangoes are in season and delicious, but the price is very cheap. The buying power at the market is also not as strong as every year. Australian mango fruit is large, round, red when ripe. There are types of purple pink, when ripe, the intestines are yellow, the taste is sweet and cool. Due to competition with many other fruits in season such as plums, pineapples, melons, and watermelons, Australian mango consumption is slow. Therefore, Australian mango growers and traders are forced to reduce prices sharply to sell out quickly. In previous years, this large, beautiful and fragrant mango was very popular with foreign consumers, but due to the Covid-19 epidemic causing difficulties for export, domestic mango consumption was slow, so the price fell unprecedentedly. In addition to the red and ripe Australian mango, there are also large mango varieties with thick flesh and pink skin that look very eye-catching on the market. The price of this giant mango is also super cheap, only from 10 to 15 thousand VND/kg.
