The Ministry of Health received 10,000 COVID-19 test kits to support epidemic prevention

On May 12, 2021, at the Ministry of Health, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Thuan – Deputy Minister of Health has received 10,000 test tests for SARS-CoV-2 for epidemic prevention.
Facing complicated developments of COVID-19 from the end of April 2021 up to now, many cases have been reported domestically, in 26 provinces, cities and hospitals, and the Young Physician Association. Vietnam has asked the Ministry of Health to receive 10,000 SARS-CoV-2 test kits produced and awarded by Ampharco USA Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, to support capacity building for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.

The COVID-19 test kit is researched and developed, according to the technology transferred from the Military Medical Academy, which can detect most of the strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus up to now. This kit has been licensed by the Ministry of Health to circulate in Decision No. 2263 / QD-BYT dated 7/5/2021. Prof.Dr. Do Quyet – Director of Military Medical Academy said, AmphaBio HT-Hithroughput PCR COVID-19 test kit is a product of cooperation between Military Medical Academy and Ampharco USA, applying new technologies of the United States. Military Medical Academy always creates optimal conditions for the academy’s scientists to research and develop timely and highly applied products in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. Following the direction of the Prime Minister, right from March 2020, the Ministry of Health has established a Committee for Mobilization and Coordination of the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control support (Decision No. 1219 / QD-BYT dated 19 / 3/2020 of the Minister of Health). The Ministry of Health agreed to receive 10,000 test tests for SARS-CoV-2 awarded this time. However, to ensure the storage conditions of 10,000 tests mentioned above; The Ministry of Health requested the Company to support the storage and preservation of the test numbers that supported the prevention of the above epidemic in the Company’s repository. Based on the epidemic developments and proposals of units and localities; The Ministry of Health will decide to allocate the above test numbers to medical facilities to serve the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. Based on the allocation decision of the Ministry of Health, the Company is requested to assist in transporting and handing over testing to units and localities promptly.
