With a unique design, with a 40m2 skylight yard, a ‘climbing’ kitchen above the swimming pool, the villa in Ho Chi Minh City has scored with many architecture lovers.
The 4-bedroom villa in Ho Chi Minh City designed by female architect Bich Huyen since 2017 has many unique features, especially the 40m2 wide skylight courtyard located in the middle of the project. The owner is an elderly woman who loves nature very much, likes open space, modern. Ms. Huyen shared, the house was built on a piece of land with an area of 7.5-8x22m, the house was built with 2m behind, 2m in front. Instead of making a front or back yard, the architect placed the courtyard on the central axis of the site. The house was built on a split floor around the yard. The garden area has an automatic sliding roof system, the owner can adjust the opening – closing to get the wind. When it rains, the sliding roof closes, ensuring the yard remains dry. Ground floor is garage, warehouse, auxiliary works, living room, swimming pool, garden. The house faces the North, with little sunlight, so Huyen arranges glass in the front. Behind the house is the extended south direction, taking maximum cool wind for the house. To ensure the sustainability of the building, the architect uses pressed pile foundations. Pile foundation is a form of foundation construction based on reinforced concrete square piles, using specialized machines to press piles deep into the ground. This type of foundation is very strong, can be used on soft ground and has good durability, suitable for high-rise townhouses. Homeowners often receive guests, meet relatives at the green skylight. The kitchen is located “climbing” above the swimming pool. The kitchen is located above, forming a roof for the swimming pool below. How to design such a swimming pool, helps to save maximum space and area. The hanging garden is located on the hallway. Relaxing corner in the garden. “Although it has been built for 4 years, the villa is still quite new now, because the owner has kept it very carefully,” Huyen said.
