The story of flower pots and bonsai pots in Infantry Company 1, the Dak Mil District Military Police Department (Dac Nong Province Defense Department) brought us to Sergeant Bui Van Tuan (5th Platoon, 2nd Platoon). With skillful hands, Tuan has created more than half of the unit’s more than 100 flower pots and bonsai pots. Therefore, teammates often call Tuan with the nickname Tuan ‘pot’.
The 1st Infantry Company moved to its current location from the end of 2018. When Tuan returned to receive the mission, the number of flower pots and bonsai pots of the unit was not many and also … not beautiful.
Sergeant Bui Van Tuan released the powder and prepared to paint a new flower pot. Ready to build rockeries and pots, Tuan boldly asked the commander to show his talent to contribute to beautify the unit. So every break and day off, Tuan and some teammates create pots of various sizes. At home, making pots with frames and molds should be done very quickly, but at the unit, to save costs, Tuan fills them completely by hand. With ingenuity, meticulous implementation of stages, from roughing, baiting, discharging powder, painting, drawing … beautiful pots gradually “come out”. Not only creating ornamental pots, but every holiday, New Year or welcoming new soldiers, celebrating the traditional day of the unit… Sergeant Bui Van Tuan also “makeup” the flower pots with his teammates, trees. The barracks are green, clean and beautiful, so officers and soldiers love the unit even more.
