Unique ‘retraction net’ profession of Da Nang fishermen

0

Fishermen in the coastal areas of Da Nang city have a unique craft of pulling nets, which many people call ‘retraction nets.’

Every day, in the early morning or evening, fishermen often gather in groups to go to the sea to drop nets and pull aquatic products by walking backwards on the beach; Each group has from 10-16 people depending on the length of the trawl from 600-800m. The net is dropped into an arc and pulls slowly by human strength to close the two ends of the net to collect fish.
