At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Viet Anh expressed his desire to continue to be supported by WHC for farming businesses in Vietnam and especially wanted to have a connection for agricultural students from Vietnamese universities. can participate in annual international student exchange programs at the Center, in order to acquire and update knowledge and modern technologies applied to the development of sustainable crop production in Vietnam. Horticulture-horticulture is one of nine industries in the Dutch economic development strategy. The Dutch horticulture industry develops according to the trend of globalization, supplying agricultural products to the world market. As a leading innovator in greenhouse technology, the Dutch horticulture sector plays a leading role in the international market for flowers, ornamental plants, vegetables, bulbs and renewable materials. The Netherlands is the world’s third largest exporter of nutritional crop products and the second largest exporter of agricultural products (after the United States). WHC is a vivid illustration of the integrated thinking, broad and long-term vision of the Netherlands in general and Dutch businesses in particular. The complex is an example of the connection according to the “golden triangle” formula between the Government – research institutions – enterprises. The Government creates conditions and mechanisms but does not provide financial support (according to regulations on fair competition). WHC has a 4-year horticultural vocational school for about 1,200 students, not to mention international student exchange programs in this industry with courses of 3-4 months/year.
