Some of the most famous antiquities at the Palace museum are known to many visitors, such as the Qianlong Emperor’s Yongco cup and the Song Dynasty jade seal. Of these, the Qianlong emperor’s Yongco cup was made of gold. Qianlong gave the maker this wine cup on the occasion of his 30th birthday. On the cup is engraved the words “Kim An Vinh Co” which means that the Qing dynasty will last forever. In addition to the main material of gold, the Qianlong Emperor’s Vinh Co cup is also decorated with pearls and diamonds, making this artifact even more precious. The Song Dynasty jade seal is an antique made from marble. It was crafted by artisans during the Song Dynasty. The top side of the jade seal is carved with dragons, clouds, and waves. During the Qing Dynasty, artisans carved a poem by the Qianlong emperor on the underside of the jade seal.
