The tourist transportation in China’s Hunan province is not convenient due to the rugged hills and mountains, so visitors can only take a shuttle from other cities to the ancient Fenghuang. The most convenient and safest way is to take the shuttle bus from Zhangjiajie to Old Town Phoenix, which departs three times a day at 08:30, 14:30 and 15:30, fare is 61 yuan.

You can also get to Old Phoenix Town from Jishou (northeast from Old Phoenix) or Wulingyuan Scenic Area (Zhangjiajie) by shuttle bus, normally, the last bus leaves late Old Town Phoenix especially 18h30.
