Tesla apologizes late at night for the “auto show rights protection incident”

Recently, Tao Lin, the “uncompromising” vice president of Tesla, fell into a whirlpool of public opinion due to the “Tesla owner’s roof rights protection” incident. It is reported that a suspected Baidu insider was helping her to change her resume overnight and deleted CCTV, Baidu and Renren related work experience. In this regard, Baidu Encyclopedia issued a statement on the official Weibo on the 21st to deny it, saying that the two recent edits of the entry “Tao Lin” were all normal news event completions and incorrect content corrections, and there is no such thing as the media “What to hide”, “Internal help to change the resume” and other situations. Baidu Baike claims that Baidu Baike is an open platform and everyone can edit it. After investigation, the entry “Tao Lin” has been edited twice recently, and the editing account is a user of the Baike platform, not an internal employee of Baidu. The search on the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client found that the entry of “Tao Lin” on Baidu Encyclopedia has been changed ten times in history.

There are situations such as “hiding what” and “internal help to change the resume” as described by the media. Specifically, Baidu Baike stated that it has been revised twice recently, and the revisions were passed at 19:17 on April 19 and 16:29 on April 21 (the modification time shown in the screenshot is the time when the user submitted it).

According to Baidu Encyclopedia, through the historical version function view, the revision on April 19 added the content of the entry character’s recent response to the auto show rights protection incident.

Baidu Baike’s statement introduced that there are 10 historical versions of the Wikipedia entry “Tao Lin”. After investigation, none of the historical versions described by the media described his work experience at CCTV, Baidu, and Renren.
The statement pointed out that every modification of Baidu Encyclopedia’s entry will retain the historical version and use blockchain technology to store the evidence. The “documentation information” cannot be modified manually in the future. Encyclopedia users with an encyclopedia level of 4 and a pass rate of over 85%, as well as professional users with an encyclopedia level of 6 and a pass rate of over 85%, can use the historical version comparison function to view all historical versions of entries.
