Dozens of mummies over 3,000 years old ‘parade’ in Egypt

This weekend, 22 mummies over 3,000 years old will parade through the streets of Cairo’s Egyptian capital.

Each mummy was placed on a private car decorated elaborately, accompanied by convoys, music, lights and horses. The “Golden Parade of the Pharaohs” will travel along the Nile and then to Egypt’s first Islamic capital, Al-Fustat, in the old Cairo area, and then to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Most mummified fish have been found in two archaeological sites at Luxor in the late 1800s.
