On April 19, the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) coordinated with relevant units to energize and take over 220 kV substation (TBA) Thuy Nguyen, TP. Hai Phong. This is the first digital substation project invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
Thuy Nguyen 220 kV substation consists of 2 transformers 220/110/22 kV-250 MVA, in this phase, one transformer will be installed. The 220 kV side uses the diagram of two busbar systems with a ring busbar with 12 compartments. In this stage, equipment is installed for 7 lanes.
The 110 kV side uses the diagram of two busbar systems with a ring busbar with 21 compartments, in this stage, installing equipment for 13 lanes. Thuy Nguyen 220 kV substation has an area of about 40,100 m2 located in the area of 2 communes Dong Son and Kenh Giang, Thuy Nguyen district, city. Hai Phong. This is a class I energy project of group B, with a total investment of more than 348 billion dong, invested by EVNNPT, the project is managed by NPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The power supply and operation of the 220 kV Thuy Nguyen substation will ensure the power supply for the load and meet the socio-economic development needs of Thuy Nguyen district, city. Hai Phong and its surrounding areas, reduce power loss and strengthen connectivity, safety, stability and flexibility in power system operation. At the same time, in the process of investing and operating the 220 kV Thuy Nguyen substation, EVNNPT will summarize and evaluate the advantages, disadvantages, benefits, costs and investment efficiency of digital substations to serve as a basis for decision. select control technology, protect TBA in the future.
