With the new chip line, Intel has shown that it is ready to redefine the computer chip market share, as rival AMD constantly offers high-performance, competitively priced models.
On May 11, Intel added five consumer and five commercial processors to the 11th generation H-Series chips (codenamed “Tiger Lake-H”). Both groups consist of three octa-core chips and two six-core chips.
The 11th-generation Intel Core H-Series is the first laptop processor designed on a 10 nm process with a maximum clock speed of up to 5.0 GHz thanks to Turbo Boost Max technology. According to Intel, these new CPUs promise a speed improvement of up to 19% over the previous generation.

In particular, the Core i9 11980HK model delivers top-notch performance on a laptop for gamers, content creators and office professionals. Additionally, the new platform also includes dual-digit and multi-core performance improvements, DDR4-3200 direct-mounted memory, and 20-lane PCIe 4.0 lanes with Intel fast storage technology, 3X faster than other microprocessors on the market.

The new chips will support Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 / 6E (Gig +), Thunderbolt 4 at 3x faster speeds (40 GB per second) and up to 75% less latency compared to previous Wi-Fi 5 chips. . These commercial chips will support Intel’s vPro platform that includes security features and enterprise-specific management tools.

In terms of gaming performance, the Core i9-11980HK model offers better frame rates than the predecessor Core i9 in titles like Far Cry New Dawn, Grid 2019, Hitman 3, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege … In addition, the 11980HK model also beat rivals AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX and Ryzen 9 5900HS on these titles. It is expected that 80 new laptop and chip-based workstations will be launched in the market by 2021.
