On the afternoon of May 12, Trung Nam Electricity Design Institute, China and Cong Thanh Group (Vietnam) held a signing ceremony to arrange capital for the 1x600MW Cong Thanh coal-fired clean energy project. The signing ceremony was held in the form of online in Wuhan city, China and in Thanh Hoa city to ensure safety against COVID-19 epidemic.
Mr. Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee witnessed the signing ceremony. Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony at the bridgehead of Thanh Hoa city were comrades: Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Head Thanh Tung, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of relevant departments. 
Delegates attended the signing ceremony at the bridgehead of Thanh Hoa city. Cong Thanh 1x600MW coal-fired clean energy project, designed according to supercritical technology to improve power generation efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. According to the cooperation agreement, Trung Nam Electricity Design Institute will arrange for a commercial loan of about 1 billion USD to Cong Thanh Group to implement the project. With this cooperation agreement, the two sides expect that Cong Thanh 1x600MW Coal-fired clean energy project will be a green, clean, advanced thermal power project in harmony with nature; become a bridge for the two sides to cooperate in business, share and develop together. Trung Nam Electricity Design Institute is committed to focusing resources and techniques to implement the Project, meeting the requirements of a thermal power project using supercritical clean technology.

This is one of the important projects for the development of Nghi Son Economic Zone in particular and Thanh Hoa in general.
