Recently, some users reported to Meituan customer service that some related personnel claimed to be Meituan customer service, and indicated to users that they needed to “cancel campus loan account” and “change identity information”, and then took the opportunity to guide users to borrow money, transfer money, and so on. It is reported that such scammers will use international telephone area codes to pretend to be customer service calls. In addition, when they add the user WeChat, they will also publish the authorization certificate, work permit and other related documents that have been prepared in advance to increase the credibility.

On April 9, Meituan Security issued a warning on WeChat about fraud in the name of Meituan Financial Products. Four days later, the official WeChat account of Meituan reposted it and stated that Meituan Finance had never launched a “campus loan” product.

It is understood that there are four main types of credit products under Meituan Finance, the virtual credit payment product Meituan Monthly Payment, the consumer loan product Meituan Loan, the business loan product Meituan Business Loan, and the standard credit card product Meituan Co-branded Card.

It is worth noting that the black cat complaint platform showed that the C-end loan product Meituan’s living expenses was violently collected, intimidated, and the address book exploded by users’ complaints. The complaint revealed that Meituan’s third-party reminders continued to disturb the users’ relatives, colleagues, neighborhood committees and other irrelevant personnel when the user’s debt was overdue. Since April, users have more than 30 complaints about the collection behavior of Meituan.
