With the development of society and the strength of China, the lives of Chinese people have also changed a lot. People have more hobbies, such as fishing. Nowadays, there are more and more people who love fishing. They carry expensive equipment and go from the lake to the sea, looking for places to fish. But do you know when the Chinese first started fishing? The answer lies on the hook below. This is a fish hook unearthed at the Tashan site in Xiangshan, Ningbo, Zhejiang. According to experts’ speculation, it has a history of more than 6,000 years. This discovery also greatly advances the history of Chinese fishing with hooks and is known as the “first in China”. hook”.

Taken in Xiangshan, Zhejiang in April 2021. Xiangshan, under the jurisdiction of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is located on the coast of the East my country Sea and the eastern coast of Zhejiang. It is composed of 608 islands and reefs in the eastern part of the Xiangshan Peninsula and the coast. It has rich marine fishery resources and tourism and cultural resources. Xiangshan has a long history. As early as 6,000 years ago, in the Neolithic Age, ancestors lived and thrived here. Fishing has become the fundamental guarantee for the lives of Xiangshan people from generation to generation. Nowadays, with the vigorous development of tourism, Xiangshan is once again at the forefront of the tourism wave. While digging deep into the marine culture and Xiangshan’s local fishing culture, a Chinese Marine Culture Museum with an exhibition area of more than 6000 square meters was officially completed in Xiangshan this year, which will add a powerful cultural needle to Xiangshan tourism. And the fish hook I want to talk about today is displayed here. China Ocean Fishery Cultural Center is located at the intersection of Shipu Yugang South Road and Huolutou Road in Xiangshan County, close to Shipu Port, and the transportation is very convenient. The Fishery Culture Center was originally the largest fish freezing processing plant in Shipu Port: The old factory area of Shipu Yileng is an important landmark building for the entire Xiangshan fishery production and processing. After upgrading and transforming the old buildings, a large number of old relics such as the ice transport bridge and the ice transport tower in the original factory area have been restored and protected, which continues the historical memory of Shipu, and at the same time inherits and promotes the marine fishing culture. The China Ocean Fishery Cultural Center will officially open to the public on April 27, 2021. I am very honored to be able to see the true face of the museum before it opens. Walking into the museum, you can still see all kinds of old equipment in the freezing processing plant area that year. This is the best historical embodiment. At the same time, through scientific and technological means, let it give full play to the waste heat and spread more knowledge about fishery culture. , To fully demonstrate the diversity and richness of marine culture. The entire cultural hall is divided into four floors: the first floor is the ode to the fishing and the sea, which shows visitors the broad fishing culture of the Chinese nation; the second floor is the imprint of the fishing and the sea, which reproduces the hardships of fishing, the life of fishers, and the fish market through technological means The prosperous and delicious seafood; the third floor is the Yuhai Huazhang, which focuses on the intangible cultural heritage of Ningbo; the fourth floor is the imagination of the fishing and the sea, which reflects the extensibility of the cultural center through intangible cultural heritage classrooms, cultural and creative research and development. And the point I want to talk about today is on the first level. On the first floor, you can see many specimens of marine organisms, such as large marine fishes and shell specimens. It is an important place to understand the organisms on the eastern coast of my country. It is especially suitable for bringing children to visit. You can not only learn about many marine life, but also learn the rich marine culture. There is an area on the first floor that highlights the Tashan site representing the history of Xiangshan. In 1988, at the southeast foot of Tashan Mountain in Dancheng, Xiangshan County, the Tashan site was discovered more than 6000 years ago, which made the history of human activities in Xiangshan area from the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period to the Neolithic Age. Many precious cultural relics such as jade, stone and pottery have been unearthed at the Tashan site, which are displayed in the cultural hall. Among them, there is an unearthed fish hook on display in the most eye-catching position. The material is bronze, and the shape is almost the same as that of modern fish hooks. It is simply amazing! It’s eye-opening. The whole hook is about 2 cm high and 1 cm wide. It has a beautiful shape and smooth arc, making it quite delicate. There is a barb on the front end of the hook to prevent the fish from getting out of the hook. There is a small groove on the top of the hook for binding the fishing line. This design and craftsmanship comes from the primitive human period more than 6000 years ago, and it is indeed comparable. Surprise. It can be said that human beings have not made any progress in the design of fish hooks for more than 6000 years. Have the ancients designed fish hooks perfectly?
